I do enjoy this brand of engineering. Make things complicated till they just barely work.

He's gotta make sure he can write it off on his taxes. The year is almost over. No hate to stuffmadehere just giving explaination.

@@allana6643 yeah, for sure. thicker graphite means less breakage. i really wish they did a writing test. the chainsaw-sharpened pencil looks like it was uneven and would break in two seconds...

I have an amazing idea for a pencil sharpener, A razor blade that stays stationary in a solid mount with a hole in it. As you spin the pencil around the razor shaves wood off the pencil slowly and soon you have a perfect tip.
Wow how did you come up with that?? Its impressive!! It might just be the best instrument ever invented!!
Guess what- they're making pencils thinner lately to save material & they don't fit in the sharpener correctly & keep breaking the point off.
@@NovaTheScreechingDragon Yep, never been invented before, this is the most original idea ever! I was inspired after i saw a guy using this weird, vintage thing, stuffing his pencil into it just to sharpen it, so after that, I got to work, hundreds of seco- days doing google searches to find something to st- invent untill finally, I reached a conclusion, I called it, the ULTRASHARP PRO.
@@peterbaruxis2511 wait really? companies usually make special sharpeners for their different sized pencils, not sure if the same has been done with those. I haven't seen these thinner pencils anywhere I've been but who knows.
I really think so, I can't find any old pencils laying around to compare but it seems like they're just slightly thinner and I always have a problem sharpening them. I don't think it's easy to tell the difference between just two pencils because it just a little bit but if I had ten old and ten new ones I think I'd be able to tell.@@bloxreaction2688

If you accidentally cut yourself cutting a pencil you are doing something very wrong

I don't have the head for engineering and it just makes my mind spin when I see folks who can visualize a creation and all of the little components. 8:16 is a perfect example. Every indention, spring, and fastener is there for a purpose, and his statement that he just "came up" with the design blows me away.

@StuffMadeHere I have an idea for your .27 cal pencil sharpener. First you need to vent some of the gas off. Second don't try to force too blunt objects together and expect a sharpened result, in other words try you can't just compress the wood on the pencil. Try the sharp angle on the sharping end again but this time try to not only cut the wood instead of compress it, but also give the cut off bits somewhere to go. I wish i could leave a diagram in comments, but generally if i were to try to build this i would vent the gas off at the same place the cut off bits go. Hope you try this in the future, this video was very fun watch. Keep doing what you do!
