  • Installing and testing out the Stage 2 Remap from Storm Tuning!!
    Lets see how the D2 Performs with the stage 2 remap both on road and off road! I haven't had the boost adjusted to the remap so I wasn't getting the full effect, but I guarantee you, it changed the car! in a good way off course!

    Ok stop the bus, I did it!!!! After commenting 2 week ago on ur review ago on this remap i got hold of Daniel and got him to sort my TD5 out. I loaded it today and am sooooo impressed with the instant change in power. It has transformed my Disco and despite the roof tent on top since the weekend the acceleration is nuts for such a big vehicle. Whooohooo! Haha

    It was like it when I got it.. My auto TD5 disco 2, the traction control is super responsive, almost zero wheel spin before it engages... love it.. I had a manual prior and the traction control was pathetic, to the point of being useless.. Ended up putting in the diff lock option to overcome it..

    G'day mate, if you bump the boost up to suit the map, do you need to upgrade the intercooler to suit? Why storm tuning over other places like alive tuning or Bruce Davis performance in Sydney? Also what was the rough price to buy the tune, just wanting to know for when I upgrade mine, cheers :)

    • @adventureawaits4x457
      @adventureawaits4x457  5 років тому

      Only needed to bump up the boost 1psi or less, so no need to replace the intercooler. As for why I chose storm, it was because IV heard many good things about them on the forums.
      That and their stage 2 didn't require me to get a bigger intercooler, just had to remove the usual. EGR, cat and mid.
      I wasn't aware of Bruce Davis. I only knew about TRS, TD5 alive and Storm. Anyway tune was about $500 give or take depending on exchange rates

I recently test drove a D2 V8 with no mods and was shocked at how weak it was compared to my D1. I ended up buying a D2 TD5. So yeah, if you want more from your V8 I'd recommend the mods mine has - fuel economy was about 16L/100km on hwy.

      @@adventureawaits4x457 actually that's really good 27mpg at nearly 70mph, considering it has the aerodynamics of a house brick and weighs nearly 2 tonne that's excellent consumption.

    Have a untuned Disco on big tires with some performance problems. 0-100 I am close to 38 seconds... But with a minute going on before. And going down hill. Going up I cant even stay at 100 😂

      Oh woah no good! Almost sounds like it's in limp mode. Mines slow as hell when it decides to go into limp mode. Cuts fuel and best I see is like 15psi until I restart the engine

      Do you know if you have an MSB ecu or an NNN ecu? I think MSB ecu were fitted to 99 and 01. I may be wrong

      @@cameronlacey9010 nice! You'd definitely have an NNN ecu then! If you have a nanocom contact Storm tuning or perhaps your preferred tuner, tell them what you want out of your car or how you use it. And they can supply a map file for you provided you have the supporting performance mods for the map.
