Oh how lovely this vlog is. I visited the Globe Theatre when I visited London in 2011 from Australia. I loved it then, however there was no play that day. You all make a gorgeous family group, 3 generations.

What a lovely day you've had. When I was in London with my daughter last year, we went to Waterstones Piccadilly and it really is amazing. My daughter is a big reader ( as Lilia is) and she wanted to live there 😂!

Yay the Globe! If you go back again please to take us with you (if you want to of course). I love Shakespeare, and though I've never been to London I hope to visit and see a play there someday. Much ado about nothing is one of his best i my opinion, Beatrice is so much fun.
A few years back a company did a pop up globe (they put up a replica in the botanic gardens for a few months) and I went to see it about 4 times, being a groundling is a lot of fun. The energy is really different and you don't get as tried as you'd think. Because the actors sometimes enter through the audience you can get little interactions with the too, I got chased by an actor playing a goat when I saw twelfth night XD
Love that mural you took a shot of after the show, it's so sweet.
A fab vlog! Some years ago my hubby Dan and I went to The Globe with a bunch of friends around new year to see Twelfth Night and just paid for standing. It was an evening performance and brass monkey weather so we had a few jars afterwards. Dan and I know the other Globe better - the Inn in Dumfries where Rabbie Burns etched an inscription into the glass of his room with his diamond ring. 😹

Friends & I had a Shakespeare couple of days ( ticket ) around Stratford upon Avon few years ago here& there the farm where he was born well worth a trip if you get the chance to visit

How wonderful to go to the Globe. We had a pop-up Globe here in Auckland that was built of scaffolding and clad in white every year for the summer season. We saw Much Ado about Nothing and Romeo and Juliet.
When I taught a unit about "Romeo and Juliet" my students learned about The Globe. We used an app that was a virtual tour. Thank you for sharing your day!

We've just come home from Statford upon Avon. It was fantastic. We went to Shakespeare's school and I would thoroughly recommend it. We had a film and talk and a school lesson. So much fun. Then finally quill writing and dressing up. Worth every penny. ❤Globe is on my to do list. Thanks for sharing.❤

What a wonderful day!! I visited The Globe back in early 1997 while it was still being worked on. A lovely man who was working there took us inside and gave us the most wonderful talk about the history of The Globe, about the actors of the time, how special effects and sounds were produced, and so on. It was absolutely amazing. I would love to go back and see a performance. Another thing to add to my BID List. Have a lovely vacation.

Lilya is so sweet and articulate, she’s becoming a wonderful woman and it’s heartwarming to see her looking so happy. Was wondering about Phoebe as we haven’t heard about her in a while- I’m mentioning her because my Violette is the exact same age and things are very different right now with her than they were only a few months ago. Lovely! I’ve never been to the Globe but would love to, even more so now! I’ve been to Stratford a couple of times and was lucky enough to see Dame Judi Dench in Merry Wives. Awesome. The Anchor looked great. Xx

Lovely vlog! We saw the old Globe theatre years ago. I would love to attend a Shakespeare play there! Love in the Time of Cholera is a good book. My book club read it a few years ago and we all gave it a thumbs up!

Yes, we want another Shakespeare vlog! A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of my favorites. I was fortunate enough to see an interpretation of it at the Sydney Opera House! A wonderful memory even if jet lag almost did me in!

I love your trips to London vlogs Ali! I have that Lady Macbeth mug from a visit to the Globe eight years ago. I did the guided tour and we were lucky enough to watch part of a rehearsal which was in progress. It's an amazing place, so yes, another Globe vlog would be great!

Hi Ali, I know you’re a busy lady and enjoying your holidays. Can i possibly ask you about your camera that you use when you’re out with paddle boards Ect. I think it might be a go pro but I can’t remember. I remember you lost one in the water and replaced it with another quite a while ago now and just wondering what the make/ model is. My husband and myself have bought paddle boards after Watching you,Dan and the girls have so much fun on them and would like to be able to have some photos of our fun in the 💦. How far in advance did you have to book your Globe tickets? We’ll be in London the middle of September and the Globe Theatre is an attraction we’ve not seen yet.

We booked about a month in advance but there weren’t many tickets left! Definitely worth doing it now if you can. I used a couple of “view from my seat” websites to get an idea of what seats were pretty good. Ours were restricted view but we’re honestly great! And of course you can choose to stand. It’s well worth a visit, I absolutely loved it!

I'm still kicking myself, 9 years on, that I didn't go inside that Waterstones 😢 I felt it would overwhelm me and tempt me beyond reason so I just kept walking. Silly me. Oh, btw the surname Márquez is stressed in the first syllable MÁRquez (actually, the second to last syllable, according to the rules), that's what the accent in the A means. Same with Strictly's Gorka, but he probably got tired of correcting people and just went along with the wrong pronunciation 😂 most of the Spanish surnames that end in 'ez' are stressed that way: Martínez, Pérez, González, etc. End of foreign language lesson 😂 xx

I went and googled the pronunciation after reading this and , frustratingly, I could only initially find British or American pronunciations! As an aside...I am about to start attempting to learn Spanish on Rosetta Stone (they offer both Latin American Spanish and Spain Spanish, I am learning the latter) xx
