    This line is Soul Crushing for opponents. I got a few of these, one guy was telling be to resign after he took my rook, then I went on to checkmate him. Ha. He wasn't to happy after I asked him if I should still resign after I won.

    I think Chigorin pioneered some of this, but I may be wrong.

    I'm trying to play this against stockfish 8 and it moves h4 every time instead of capturing g5 pawn and queen next move GRRR 😖 Moreover when i play bishop g4 pinning the knight it finds some good moves and eventually crushes me lmao But hopefully ppl aren't that clever and I'll be able to crush someone with this. It's really cool gambit. Great content. Thx for sharing this with us!

      Ahhh yeah that is why my games against the Fish in this video started after Nxg5! Haha so yes white is ok after h4, as covered in the video, but black still has attacking chances and only a very small percentage of players in the database have done this correctly by white -- I think you are right that in practice, you'll score crushing wins more often than not. Thanks so much for your kind words!! :)

    Yep Nxg5 is a huge blunder for white. Getting to this position is a guaranteed win but it might only happen if your opponent is being aggressive. Great line in the Italian but hey do you have an Italian Game repertoire video?

    To be honnest, I like it and it is very fun to watch. However, everything can be denied by a simple c3 on move 6 ( as you said yourself in the video ). In the masters database, 90% of the games went 6. c3 (granted this does not concern me, but even then, at my level this move is the most played).
    If I were to play to get this line, I would be playing, hoping for my opponent to blunder, which never leads me anywhere good.
    However, I do think you are crazy good yourself. Me ? Not so much, so I can't pull any of those stunts.
    I have to earn each of my wins the regular way : the old art of flagging of course.

    All your moves are recommended by Stockfish on my computer and on 13. h3 is played, not hxg3. hxg3 is not even a candidate. Also, I fished the first mention of this gambit and it's from Victor Knorre vs Mikhail Chigorin, St Petersburg (1874), so I guess it's a Chigorin gambit?

    • @GambitMan
      @GambitMan  2 роки тому

      Yes, I cover the Stockfish recommended line in the video, uncommon though it may be. And you’re right - thanks for bringing the chigorin game to my attention! :) I’ll update the description

    The only risk here is that white just might play the Ruy Lopez instead of the Italian on move 3, and if it is one thing I hate to play, it is indeed the Spanish...

    13.h3 instead and it’s only -.6, not a win for black.
