Great game, but also, Zhigalko's ability to see all these crazy tactics and come up with tenacious defense is insane. Even more impressive that you broke through his defenses. This game deserves a part in Busch-Gass history.

A gambit man is never down material. He's just running low on things to sacrifice

Fantastic! Getting this line on the board against a grandmaster must be a dream come true! I imagine it's what you hope for, when analysing these lines.

No way! The Busch-Gass Gambit is the best gambit, maybe even the best opening in my opinion. Very double edged

It would be so cool if there was a live stream showing Zhigalko's side as the game progressed. Even or especially if it was mostly filled with anything from "Blin" to "Bozhe moj" to "Suka blyat'" and "Ya ne mogu" at the end.

How do you not have 100k+ subscribers? Your enthusiasm and swashbuckling approach to chess is a joy to watch.
I play the BDG a lot for just this reason. Sure, it’s “dubious”, but it’s fun! Bluffing in poker is probably dubious also…
Keep up the great work. I wish you every success.

William congrats on a brilliant win against a top GM. As you explained at the latter stages of the video, you had to be super precise to get the win. Any slight inaccuracy and he would have got at least a draw. You must have invested over a 100 hours researching the various lines in the Busch-Gass Gambit. You should try it OTB, I'm sure your opponents will not know the exact moves needed for equality.

Third time watching this video because the attack after white makes only 2 (reasonable looking) inaccuracies is irresistible, which is very rare!

4:51 -- ok, *"no f3"* , but what about *G* 3 ?? That stops the checkmate and attacks Black's queen.
So I don't see how it *"loses INSTANTLY"* ?! O_o

Then you back the queen to h4 and white still has the big problem where to put the white queen

After black responds with Qh5, white has to move their queen and there isn't a lot of good options. On d3 rook to d8 is comin, on c4 b5 is coming, etc... moreover, black's bishop can hit the rook on h1 and force it to move, and then black can take on h2 and so on. It's not _quite_ an immediate loss, but it's a disastrous position to have (as Stockfish shows).

Sir, how to proceed if white plays d4 allows the qxe4, be2...then castle

I drew mittens with the double muzio gambit, but it was a bit messy and threw away the win. I think if you were playing, you could win

I'd love to play the BGG, but after playing 30 games of it, I think I had the accepted lines MAYBE 20% of the time... I genuinely don't think players in the 1200 - 1400 level even see that the pawn is hanging :D

Not to be too nerdy, but »Zhigalko« has a [ʐ] sound, not a [z'] sound. Kind of like the sound s makes in 'mea *s* ure'.

Nice video sir. I know you did the title for clicks/ but there is no such thing as a "legend" who has never broken 2700, (which doesnt even put u in the top 50 anymore) that title would be for someone who is top 20/ played in (FIDE)/the candidates tournament / ect.. also he was ess. playing a bullet game against you. Every player knows its quicker @ easier to play attacks/ accurate defence requires time/ which why it is rare to see gambits in the standard time CT (with 30 increment) I still really enjoy the content though. Hopefully you dont consider this a nega$tive comment/ Just pointing out something.
