  • The Icknield Way - Hiking & Wildcamping
    Knettishall Heath to Dullingham, which is the 1st 35 miles along the Icknield Way
    First hike & camp of the season
    Forgot to enable 'Rocksteady' on the action camera so excuse the shaky footage
    Also had forgot to bring the foam windshield case, so again sorry for the wind noise!
    Great to be out again, LOTS planned for this year..... Happy Hiking :-)
    Thanks for watching

    First one in the bag as an overnighter. The usual suspect used: The tent. Waiting for mine to arrive as recommended by Darren Curtis, I have been informed that there may be a delay. However, you did warn all that this could the case. Good hiking, look fwd to the next episode, same time, same channel. 🎬

    Thanks for sharing your adventure, I’m currently working my way down the ickneid way in stages, but doing it out and back, (shortest route on way back!) so can get home each night 16 - 18 miles a day, currently just short of Royston started at Knettishall, lovely route to do. Hope you’re going to do the rest at some point. Keep up the lovely vids 👍

      @@darrencurtisuk Absolutely. I love hiking on my own but I like meeting other hikers in beer gardens. Try The Clachaig in Glencoe if you haven’t already Darren, it’s one of my favourites.

    I know you did a peddars way video aswell so will you try and continue to the ridgeway etc and add it all together?
    Love the video style of yours.

    Great video. Thanks. Interested to see how your gear choice is evolving. Have you permanently dropped the neo x air? If so, would love to know why. In its place, is it the thermarest z lite closed cell pad and another thin pad you are using?

    • @darrencurtisuk
      @darrencurtisuk  2 роки тому +1

      I'm still juggling between the 2 tbh
      Zlite is indestructible, but not as warm or comfy as the Xlite

    • @trytheoutdoors
      @trytheoutdoors 2 роки тому +1

      @@darrencurtisuk Thank you. I face a similar dilemma. The neo x air is light and comfortable but obviously prone to punctures. The z lite is a little heavier ( I think), not as comfy but bomb-proof (peace of mind). May be ok for warmer seasons? I'm looking at a tyvek groundsheet to help protect my air pad against thorns etc and give some vestibule ground cover for my durston x mid.

    Darren, can you tell me the name of that tent thermometer please? Hoping to finally finish my Icknield Way walk over the next couple of weeks. Only Baldock to Ivinghoe to go!! I've been inspired by your previous walk.
