It does not pay to work in the UK, once upon a time a 30K salary meant a comfortable life, affordable mortgage repayments etc. That ship has long since sailed. Generations of failed policies have led to this, Tory, Labour - two sides of the same corrupt, incompetent, self serving political system, The streets are strewn with rubbish, the housing/renting situation is scandalous for a so called 1st world economy, and forget about getting on the housing ladder. There is nothing for a young person to aspire towards, you're better off rolling the dice and taking your chances in a country where you at least stand an even chance of succeeding based on your merits and hard work.
You summed up a lot of what I’ve been feeling. I agree, at this point, taking a chance elsewhere feels like a better bet than staying stuck in a system that seems broken.
So where is that country worth emigrating to?
I will never leave my home country 🇬🇧.... But wish you well young lad on your journey in life.... Good luck ❤️🇬🇧
It's very difficult abroad. Myself am an immigrant here in the UK, came from north Africa and lived in many European countries and compared to the UK, I really struggled. I came to the UK when Tony Blair was in power and studied and got my degree in IT and got a job as a software engineer and I have really done well. I am so grateful to the UK that helped me enormously. True now economically is not doing well, so as other countries. The whole world is in turmoil economically and the UK is not an exception. Some countries may look nice, nice weather, nice beaches, but when it comes to every day living, it's not easy. Things will definitely change in the UK and it's definitely worth resisting, life is not always perfect I am afraid. But I wish you luck in the future 👍
I really appreciate your perspective and your story-it’s great to hear that the UK has worked out for you. I agree that no place is perfect, and every country has its challenges, especially in the current economic climate. Wishing you all the best as well, and thanks for sharing your experience!
When I was your age, I left the UK for good. This was 30 years ago when the UK was still a great place to live. Good luck and Godspeed.
I grew up in the 80's and 90's living in the Bournemouth area. It used to be fun. Pubs and clubs and parties. People meeting up. Fairs and carnivals and rallies. Then in the 2000's everything started going slowly downhill. I was earning a decent wage working in a factory. Then came mass immigration from Eastern Europe. Wages never went up, after that, and then the "money printing" started. I have travelled in Australia, Central America, and parts of Europe. I would live in any one of those places now, if I was able to. The England I grew up in no longer exists. It is now just a miserable decaying ruin of what it once was. All planned.
Yeah 2000 when all the poor newly joined eastern Europe countries joined the EU,pushed up rent's, house prices, doctors, dentist's etc put so much demand on everything jobs you name it,as well as regular migation, every single year.
900k Brit's in 27 Europe countries,6 million from there in 1 tiny island, then they reproduced adding another million more at least.
Most people that went to Europe from the UK were self-sufficient and already completed having their families like retirement people.
Then Brexit happened, nothing much changed everyone from Europe stayed here in the UK and naturalised and got more rights.
Then pandemic, conflict in UKrne, inflation, record migation numbers for the last few years and now free movement for under 30s from Europe is back on the cards, free education here paid by us,jobs etc free NHS, that's what the EU wants from us, eventually I think Starmer will agree 😢
If you dont have a good chunk of savings, you will be back before you know it.... Fail to plan, you plan to fail
I hear you, and I definitely understand the risks. Time will tell how it all plays out, but I’m committed to making it work. 👊❤️
Hi Joe
Best wishes for your new life and adventures. You'll both love it. I can tell.
Regards
Steve 👊
8:58 “Come on, in UK which is a first world country” ….. we reap what our politicians sow… Invite the third world, become the third world 😔
Edit: BTW in the last few years we (wife and 3 sons) have also been seriously considering leaving our ancestral homeland dating back to at least 1086 Lancashire (when our family name was first recorded) for very similar locations to you 😉. Southeastern Europe is calling…
Omg I thought I recognised the background, I used to live in Canford Heath. Now in Ringwood but like yourself, thinking of getting out of here asap!
It's relatively easy to get residency in Albania & was only looking recently, although I have a friend who's gifted me some land to live on if I want - in the Philipenes.
Looking forward to following your adventures!
Haha small world! I'll do some more research while I'm there. Philippines seems like a great option, to start with we don't want to be too far from the UK as the GF has businesses here to sort out time to time but maybe in the future we'll go further afield. Thanks for the support!
Good on ya! I'm also considering leaving this year!
Cheers! Where would you potentially move to if you did leave this year?
Come to Thailand. You wont regret it. 😁👍🇹🇭💯
So your not leaving for good, enjoy your gap year. We were denied brexit by our parliament, we never had it
Unless the UK suddenly gets better weather, I doubt I’ll be back to live here again. If all goes well, hopefully, this "gap year" turns into something much longer! Time will tell. Brexit or not, the UK has definitely changed-and not exactly for the better 🫤
When it got to millennials and Gen Z fiat money had lost almost all its value meaning it doesn’t pay to work anymore, that’s what printing money does
It’s sad but I understand, the money seems to be gone for good and people seem to be living pay check to pay check , I dread to think of the millions that don’t work and are off on universal credit, people are broken financially and mentally
Yeah, it’s really sad to see how the UK has gone downhill. So many people are struggling, and it just feels like there’s no way forward. That’s a big part of why I had to make this decision to leave. I totally get where you’re coming from.
I’m 41 ……..I’ve lived through the hood and now the bad as an entrepreneur………. I’ve now invested my money into uk property and setting up online businesses to help with visa applications! Like your GF I have businesses here to check on but I’m on your page, uk is lost in this left wing abyss so much that common sense has left many people! Take my advice………… put yourself first and hit it hard till you’re successful and don’t quit! Good luck! Great insight!
Great advice and insight! Sounds like you’ve been through a lot and made some smart moves. Totally agree, unfortunately common sense isn't common haha. Wishing you all the best with your businesses! Cheers 😁
Your right about crime etc stabbings they have lost complete control it's an everyday occurrence 20 years ago was nothing like that. The problem has never been addressed they closed down thousands off police stations and never reopened them they don't care about people's safety anymore it's all about money. I wish you all the best 👍
Indeed it's very sad. Appreciate the well wishes, and I wish you all the best too!
good luck with your new endeavours
Thank you! 🙏
Go for it young lad 👦 ❤
Cheers! 😁
Spot on keep it up, it will be interesting to see how it all goes for you.
Cheers, I appreciate it! Yeah the journey from here will be interesting. I’ll document as much as I can and share it on here 😁
You will not be missed, w anchor.
So why are you wetting your knickers over it?
I smiled when I heard the rent £1k a month I was paying that in my first rental flat in London in 1999 those where the days.
I wish you and your girlfriend all the luck and love in the world for the future.
The UK in it's current form offers absolutely zero prospects for it's citizens and you would both be very wise to leave for a happier, healthier country.
The faster you swim here in the UK the deeper you sink......no point.
Good luck to you both 💖
It feels like it's defiantly getting tougher by the day for sure. Appreciate the support, it means a lot! 😊
@@joecashino 💝Good luck sunshine x
Well played, UK is spiralling, you need 2-3x the average wage to have any quality of life now (but it’s not due to Brexit as it was never properly implemented) - sales jobs will go to AI within a couple of years so setting up an agency to help businesses implement is the right side to be on (I’m focussed on AI agents right now)
Cheers. I think you're right-the cost of living is out of control, and wages just aren’t keeping up. AI is definitely shaking things up, we're on the right side of it I believe. Sounds like you're in an exciting space with AI agents-hope it’s going well!
I`m up North, Paid my house of years ago, just work 24 hours a week. I come out with £1270. After direct debits I have about the same left over as you. It a bit hard to get by. I`m lucky to get free wood for heating, solar for powering the Gaming PC as I`m old. My dad has a garage so I can repair my own car. I changed clutch last week for £120 parts. I grow my own tobacco but tastes crap lol. I used to brew my own beer to save money. You was just born at the wrong time. Us old boomers tried to warn everyone what was going to happen. Now we get the blame for some reason.
Good luck to you, Seems like everyone is getting up sticks and going. Go somewhere you're valued. unlike the UK
I left to poland last month..uk is going down toilet 😢😢😢
Move to Albania❤ it‘s super safe here and affordable.
Of course its safe, all the crims are now in the UK.
The UK prisons are full of Albanian criminals and so is Sweden, serious question did they all leave Albania for more chances in crime abroad ?
@@leejames1792 😭😂
I'm coming to visit for around 3 moths and we'll see after that 😁
Moving to Transylvania , again very safe
Don't blame you fella, the uk is broken.
It can be fixed though, that's the annoying part! However the powers that be aren't fixing the UK. 🫤
Thailand is the spot brother. 10x out here on UK life. I grew up in oakdale went to Poole High. Worked for Exchange and Mart at Link House for years. Now i am a crypto trader living in Koh Samui. Thailand is the best place i have found on this spinnibg ball.
Genuine question, do you have Thai friends or keep to an Expat community?
UK rent prices compare to wages are ridiculous. I own a small flat in eastern europe and all bills with electric, central heating cost me £120/month no council tax there. My friend moved to germany, I visited him last year nice big comfortable flat rent for 500 euro
Germany is no better not the slightest trust me I live here. Not worth moving here remotely. Everything is getting worse..
Wow that’s so good! For 500€ in the UK you would only be able to rent a small room in a shared house which is likely to be in a rundown area where I leave in south of England. It’s crazy! 😂
@@luke54-b8n i lived in cellar germany as a kid its a much better country than this dump
Be contented for what you have since every country is struggle ng 😅😅😅😅😅
Cowards that leave when times are hard, should not be allowed back when we turn things back.
Consider Georgia, get 1 year visa entry
Georgia is a strong contender or sure. I like the look of Batumi Georgia 😊
You struggle on 35000 a year? Pensioners have the same expenditure, but survive on 11000. And i do mean survive
Just go, mate. You dont need to tell everyone you don't look very Anglo-Saxon, so you probably miss your origins. I could go on, but I won't.
The UK died years ago.
Moving won't change anything, the whole world will go under.
killed after WW2 Ended by those we can't name
There's no euphoria like when you quit your job 😅
When I quit my job, I was definitely relieved that I didn’t have to go back to doing something I didn’t enjoy-like most jobs. But the pressure is still there to find another source of income. Once I’m making enough to cover the bills, I think I’ll feel a lot better!
go for it lad, do what excites
Cheers!
In other countries the cost of living is lower, but the salaries are lower as well. So this is not a good reason for leaving the UK.
I’ve just come from Macedonia; it’s very cheap, but for me a bit boring, the Greeks insist that they call it North Macedonia, and it’s a squabbling at the moment about the name of the country, ; but visit Ochrid mate: biggest fresh water lake in Europe and very pretty old Greek style churches 🎉
Your going to need a visa, financially you won’t recover unless your onto something solid, UK is dead but if you can farm money and use it as a travel base that’s the way forward.
Running away you will return before 50 to start it all again because you’ll be hungry.
I think as long I don’t stay in one country for more then 90 days at a time I should be ok with not needing a visa.
I’m hoping with an online AI agency I might be able to get by for now until something solid comes to fruition.
But who knows maybe I might come back but then what is there to come back to with the way the uk is going atm? 🫤
Purpose! That's the main thing. (What's your dream, Simon Squibb)
100%! Right now, my dream is to escape the UK for good 🤣
Squibb is busy rimming richard pdfile branson
I did it I had some sales background got a fully remote commission only cold calling job worked out great
Great idea! That might be something I could look into. Any recommendation on how you find these opportunities? I'm glad it worked out great for you! 😊
Good luck mate. You might be interested in Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro as future possibilities.
was in bosina during the war
Cheers, great suggestions!
Yeah we looked at them countries, Montenegro was a strong option but it didn’t fit our plans for this year. I’ll make a video on why we we didn’t end up going there but would love to in the future. 👍
Wow, what was that like?
work to live not live to work..
cos in any other country you will make back your 30-4000 debt in a couple of years , you will never do it in the uk . high taxes , energy , prices etc
Why don't you move to Manchester like a lot of your contemporaries from down south ?
If you have a sales background its a no brainer to start an online service business mate. Good luck
That is what I thought before I quit my job. Let’s see what happens next. Thanks for the encouragement! 🙏
You guys should move to Far East to teach English as you are a native speaker. You guys are young! Should go for it!
I'm 56 & thinking of doing this in the Philippines, there are opportunities to just speak English with foreign students online.
Great idea! I used to hire Filipinos VA's. They are lovey people and culture
Thanks for the advice, I'll look into it! 😊
So you want to be an immigrant somewhere in Europe but voted for Brexit to keep immigrants from coming over here? Makes sense. Got bad news for you though. Travelling around Europe with the intention of settling down is no longer straightforward for Brits mate.
You do realise many voted Brexit for reasons other than immigration, not being dictated to by Brussels was a major factor i voted for it, but due to it not being fully implemented it hasn't worked, i wish remainers would admit it was never delivered.
How are you going to manage that when there is a 90 day maximum stay rule in the e.u ?
The plan is to travel to different countries every 90 days
You will get tired of all the travelling after a while
You must live by or in london ......33k to ring someone up , think yourself lucky , thats a good salary. Firefighters work anyday of the year 48 hr 12 hr shifts a week & after tax / pension dont get 2400 a month ! A retired ones lucky to get a min wage part timer.
Although i agree uks in the toilet
I live in Bournemouth (south coast) which is roughly 2 hours away and where the football team is absolutely smashing it in the premier league somehow😂
Yeah my telemarketing job was a good salary in comparison to most jobs and definitely easier then firefighting! More respect and pay is needed for public service workers.
Did you know the average salary in the UK is around £37k? So I was earning slightly less then the average wage but definitely more then minimum wage there. I think that goes to show how bad the cost of living truly is here…
Youll be back.. no money, no plans, no hope.
How on earth you gonna set up elsewhere if you’re about £30k in debt? I’m genuinely interested.
👍
🙏
Darn, man, you sound like you are in your 50s. Do it now. Get out. You're young and will land an online job. Good luck.
You’re a young man and you quit a job , find another job ?
You say you’re in debt so in other words you’re running away from your debt ?
Your gf mum gonna have debt recovery knocking on her door ?
So you’re gonna move abroad with no money , in debt and no plan ?
How long you think you gonna last ?
I moved to Australia with 20k debt and just paid it off in Australia
😂🤣😂 well aren't you a treat
I understand your concern.
I believe I can earn more money by setting up my own business in the long term. In the short term it will be a bit of a struggle, don’t worry I’ve got enough cash in the bank to survive on a budget for at least a year if I didn’t earn any additional income 😉
So I’m not running away I’m just taking a different path.
@ good luck
@@joecashinoWhy not try setting the business up first?
new subscriber, good luck
Cheers, thank you for the sub! 😊
In eu you can move to low cost eu country😅😅😅
If uk is a european union then you can move anywhere in eu boundary it is easy😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I watched a number of these videos now and it's always the same; a load of drivel about the tedium of someone's personal circumstances that having little to do with being in the UK followed by the gradual exposure of their lack of ever had any meaningful connection to this country in the first place.
I've lived and worked abroad in several countries (including ex-Yugoslavia which he mentions) and enjoyed the travel but I always understood that the only possible real home remained England. As wanting to even visit North Macedonia and Albania, facepalm.
I just hope that these kind of videos pushing negativity aren't having too much influence on others who need to be changing their country not running away.
Bye.
I hear you. At the moment I just don’t have the same strong connection to the UK that you do. For me, the quality of life here just doesn’t feel worth the cost of living. Who knows-travel and living abroad might change my perspective, but right now, this feels like the right move and something worth exploring. Wishing you all the best!
30K in Dept 🙄🙄🙄
Yep, it is what is is. It'll get out of it at some point.
Well, good luck with your future, but you seem to know little about your intended destinations :) Do some more research before you make any major decisions.
I guess the unknown is part of the fun and adventure! I’ll find out firsthand once I get there. Cheers! 😊
30k below average, you haven’t explained how you got into so much debt, running won’t solve it bro
Yeah I meant to say minimum wage instead of average wage 😅
I’m not running from the debt I just want to have a better lifestyle then I have now. On another video I’ll explain how I got into debt like a dumb ass 😂
Votes Brexit then emigrates. You couldn’t make this up
You'll be back..
Maybe, only if things get better.
Don't think they will, once they've made the move & hope they find their happy place👌
You believe in financial literacy and have debt. May want rewrite your profile😅
Your probably right! We all make mistakes lol. I'll get round to that soon my friend 😉
£22000 a lot more than the average wage 😂
Your choice. Times are hard, they're going to get harder. And then they'll get better. Not everyone has the stomach for a fight. Don't come crawling back when it's all over. The patriots will remember who deserted. 🇬🇧
How is going is it going to get better?... Skilled people are leaving....
Unskilled are flooding in, happy to stay on dole for the rest of their lives.. ..
I hear you, and I respect your perspective. Everyone’s situation is different, and for us, this feels like the right move. I hope the UK gets better as I love the country and the culture which is unfortunately changing to something i don't like.
There will be no fight and you "patriots" will never get your country back. People have been saying this for decades and nothing ever happens. What's happening will accelerate and get 1000 times worse and nothing will ever be done to stop it. And no reform wont do anything, they'll be just as treasonous as the tories. You'll be reduced to 10% of the population within a few decades along with a completely collapsed society with hyperinflation, mass starvation, complete systems collapse, horrible ethnic conflict and a failed state. Then you'll wish you'd escaped. Meanwhile everyone who's left will be enjoying a great quality of life in countries with amazing weather, low taxes, low cost of living, friendly people (and attractive women if you're a man) in societies that are the future. They'll actually be ENJOYING life, something Brits have no concept of at all, instead of spending the rest of their lives in a damp, wet, cold miserable grey country being miserable, stressed, anxious, depressed and angry 24/7. What a waste of a life, Enjoy spending the rest of your life being miserable in a collapsing society. You people have no idea how futile and pointless your "stay and fight" endeavour is. You have no literally no chance in turning this around. You're literally wasting your life.
Connief1990 has a point, how are things going to get better? Skilled people are leaving and the only people coming in are unskilled. Plus the average IQ is dropping, including the native population. How are you going to turn this around with a thick, unskilled population? We're just going to become a third world country. Plus, all this nonsense about staying and fighting...you have no weapons. And democracy is rigged against the natives. Reform UK arre pure containment and will never fix any of the problems. You people are proper finished. There is no hope for the UK, you're doomed. Sorry.
