After all these years, it is still my favorite c&c game.
Battlelore 2 and Unmatched is the top 1v1 pvp games what we play with my wife.

I really like this channel. It's entertaining and informative in effective portions. Well edited and presented. Cody has a fairly likable personality; he must be one hell of teacher.

Funny that we hadn't played this in several months, but my son's friend slept over and they played. Maybe not the best "gateway" version of the CC series, my son trounced him...No Mercy!
It did lead to a game of Descent and the friend is now hooked!
    Great couple of Battlelore videos.

I bought this game only cause of you Cody.
And by Grungnis beard, it is majestic!!!
The end games in this game are made from pure epicness. We almost always win a game with an insane or heroic tactic that will change the tide of the battle.
Win or lose, we are always happy, because each battle is fun.
This game is legendary, it have so many good moments, and an epic feeling.
To be honest. This is my favorite pvp board game in my life.
Thanx Cody, if you come to Hungary I will buy you a Bear Cheese... yes we have ;) (called "Medve Sajt").

I'll remember that the next time I'm in Hungary. Have you played any of the other Commands and Colors games? C&C Napoleonics, Memoir '44, Battle Cry, etc...?

    • @attiladukai2121

I played Napoleonics too. It is so good. And heard about Memoir '44.
But in Hungary we does not earn much money, so I can afford only one game in all style.
I picked Battlelore instead of Napoleon... was a hard decision.
Blood Rage is also on my list, and I want to complete my Descent second ed. collection... but first, I will complete Battlelore. This game is so great.
Btw, one of my friend just meet the c&c system, and I think he addicted to it. He is always there when we play. I think I can reason him into Napoleonics ;)

I hope he can get it. Napoleonics is the best of the system, in my opinion. I recently played Battle Cry again, the first one of the system, and forgot how much fun it is.

Nope. FFG stopped supporting it a while back, so you're just going to have to hunt for them.

I already have Battlelore, 2nd Edition + Expansions. However, I am very curious if I should also pickup C&C:A or C&C:N. How would you compare those two systems with Battlelore 2nd and if you already had Battlelore prior to purchasing those systems, would you buy them?

+Scott Tucker My favorite Commands & Colors game so far is Napoleonics. Part of that is just that I am a sucker for the history. There is also something elegant, I find, with the blocks. I like the scenarios, and mechanically, I really like how infantry can form squares when cavalry charges. I've played several C&C games- Battlelore, Memoir '44, Battle Cry, Battles of Westeros, The Great War- and they're all fun. But if I had to choose one it would be Napoleonics. I have not yet had a chance to play Ancients, however.

Awesome. Thank you. I'll add Napoleonics to my Christmas list. :) Have you played with any of the expansion packs for Napoleonics? If so, are any a "must" to include when making my initial purchase?
Just as an aside, your channel has become my "go-to" for Boardgame reviews. I enjoy that the format is to-the-point but humorous and approachable, with consistently good editing. It's like Shut Up and Sit Down without the additional 20 minutes of inane ramblings. Thank you for what you do.

+Scott Tucker As far as expansions go, I have not yet had a chance to play with any. Unfortunately, where I'm reviewing so many new games, I don't get old ones to the table nearly as much as I'd like. In fact, I have not yet played all the scenarios in the base game- though I have played some two or three times. I don't know if you saw this, but here is our play through of Napoleonics. It was a friendly game and we were playing fast and loose with the rules: ua-cam.com/video/NRefqaqCERE/v-deo.html
Thank you for your kind remarks as well. I'm glad you enjoy the channel. It's a good amount of work and not a lot of reward, so it means a lot when people let me know they like it. Have yourself a merry little Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you as well!
I see you have Cthulhu Wars in the background, which is one of my top games of 2015. Currently watching your top 100 list to see if it made it into yours as well. It pains my heart a little to see you stacking other games on top of that beaaaautiful box.
May your holidays be chock full of cardboard and plastic.

The third edition will have a Star Trek android theme?

Jon Reed so... Data vs Lore? It won't be called 3rd Ed, it will be Batlle/Lore

Dude your videos make my wife angry. Everytime I watch one I'm not "honey I need this game!" Than she tells me I already have too many games. Then I get sad because there's no way one can have too many games right?

Chris Rogers This is the great paradox of gaming, my son. Now go forth and spread the word.
