I used to be an agnositc. I was watching rabbi singer and other jews for judaism folks in order to completely dismiss jesus' claim of messiahship.
When Rabbi singer speaks, he is really saying a bunch of nothing. Like i was waiting for the argument why isaiah wasnt talking about jesus, and he just went on and on, without making any point.. or if he did, it didnt make sense

Rabbi Singer has a point in his interpretation and that is to keep Jews Jewish and not as Christians. There is many interpretations, but let´s listen to each other and try to be bold and accept others interpretations. The reason is that the Is. 53 can be viewed both as the Messiah but also as Israel or a faithful groups within Israel. Don´t be extreme and refute others interpretation. Second it is a plain truth that most Jews who have begun to believe in Jesus has left the Judaism totaly or continue live a non Jewish life. Soi here we see why Tovia Singers point. And I say if every Jew who should have become Christians for 2000 years ago would give a result of no Jews on this planet today. We would not have any Israel and therefore no Messiah would come down to the mount of Olives.
Mind you a Jewish life is important and I would like if Michael Brown wound return to Jewish life and live Jewish at the same time Believe in Jesus and thus become a combination- theology. That would help a lot to make a brides between Christians and Jews. As it is today the anti-judaism which in in bedded in the Christian theology and it will not convince any knowlegde- able Jew. The word "Israel" is used of a man, a land, a people, a remnant, and of course, the Messiah. Tovia Singer has no excuse to be ignorant of this fact, so if he isn't ignorant, then he must be acting against the knowledge he has. What do you call a person who knows the truth, but hates it so deeply, they spend their life deceiving their listeners with lies. It is a cliche to say there is a special place in Hell for such people, but, let's be honest, there probably is.

There are many verses which contradict what the messiah is supposed to do. Example, messiah is supposed to bring peace and worldwide knowledge of Hashem. Jesus says "i have not come to bring peace but a sword". The so called prophecies about jesus are not about messiah at all.

I have listened to Tovia Singer for some time. In my humble opinion, his chief strategy is to draw a false dichotomy between the Hebrew bible and the Christian bible. For instance, according to him, you must choose between Isaiah and Paul but you can't choose both because they are antithetical to each other. This is the exact opposite of what Christians believe - the Hebrew bible and the Christian bible are complementary to each other. In fact, as Christians, we should, and we do, embrace both the Hebrew bible and Christian bible.
Don't read Isaiah 42? 😂 is he serious? Has this guy ever read the Gospels?
Most rabbis reject the idea of vicarious atonement which is plainly taught in Isaiah 53.

Anyway -/ long story short - I understand now that connecting or paralleling Mariam the sister of Aaron with Mariam the mother of Jesus is done on purpose - to establish the identity of the Messiah as the priest.
The Quran is a very poorly written book and assumes the audience’s familiarity with all the nuances of Christianity and Judaism of the late antiquity Middle East. With time - the background knowledge was lost or actively denied by new Muslim ruling classes. Therefore- today - there is hardly any Muslim who actually understands the Quran. Most of the understanding sits on the secular non Muslim scholars.

I love all the points for the Messiah Jesus - but I have a question for all who know - how do we know that the prophecy about the Messiah’s (first) coming was foretold to happen BEFORE the destruction of the second temple? How to disprove a position that says the prediction was not made up AFTER the destruction, in order to legitimize Jesus as the Messiah?

Somehow, we need to let the (non-believing) Jewish people know that you are here for them, so that they can hear BOTH SIDES of the story. And the more R. Singer is allowed to talk, the more he exposes himself as a person who does not truly understand the Bible (and I am being polite here). See what you can do to get on those orthodox radio programs as a "guest" simply so that Jewish people can learn WHY so many Jewish people believe in Yeshua.

@@jamescobrien Tovia blatantly lies and uses academic dishonesty. The LXX was used commonly during 2nd temple Judaism. We have Philo of Alexandria and Flavius Josephus using the LXX- Josephus literally uses the LXX's chronology of Genesis 5 and 11.
Isaiah 53 does not logically work if you replace "servant" with "Israel-" Israel cannot die for Israel or bring atonement in Isaiah 51. We also have Tovia Singer give equivalents for Daniel 12 regarding the Son of Man's divinity. Tovia knows the Son of Man is divine but refuses to acknowledge it.
Courtney calls in to challenge Tovia Singer's interpretation of the New Testament. Watch this video and see Tovia admitting to Daniel 12 stating the Son of Man is divine.

Sadly Christians seem unable to count to 3. I mean how do you get 3 days and 3 nights from Friday to Sunday very early in the morning? I think Christians need to stop being afraid to ask the right questions as God can surely answer them rather than trying to perform crazy miracles like cramming 3 days and 3 nights into Friday to Sunday. Various rabbis whose targumim were recorded had followers who accepted their explanations as authoritative, and, in some cases, they put them on par with the Word of God.

Getting the temple was contingent on the exiles' attitude and compliance to Elohim's requirements. Elohim to Ezekiel "And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them" (Ezek 49:11). Clearly, that offer was for the ancient exiles, not for other generations. Also, notice, the word meant the offer was dependent on their attitude and obedience. There is a logical necessity for God to be triune, let me explain:
There can only be one God, since if there were 2 equal gods that would necessitate another greater being, so we know God is one. However we Also know that God is Love. With this, it is to be concluded, that God cannot simply be love without having someone to love and without there being s person who loves. It cannot be said that it was us who were Made because of that, because that would mean God needed us, which would not make him the perfectly All powerful God we know. Thus the Trinity is truthful:

RABBI TOVIA SINGER points out that Martha and Mary went to the tomb at dawn on Sunday, taking spices for the dead body, but nobody would unwrap a dead body after that length of time. The body would be stinking and it's a hot country. Jesus body had been properly prepared and embalmed with all the spices necessary for his burial the day he was crucified.. This is the argument Tovi Singer puts forward.. Michael please help me here...
They could not do all the necessary preparation because his death was unexpected, and the sabbath was approaching. There just wasn't enough time. I don't know for sure, but I imagine the women went back despite the time, because he was their Lord and they felt he was worthy/deserving of a proper burial (I don't know that last part for sure, but it would make the most sense).
ETA: I forgot Nicodemus took aloes and spices during his burial. So I'm guessing it was more for honor. I also read, not sure how true, the spices were used to slow decay, especially the amount Nicodemus brought, but it's all speculation. We won't know for sure.

So he was in the grave Fri (short time because it was just before the sabbath, day 1), full sabbath day (day 2), and then the first day of the week, which started on Sundown Saturday (day 3). The example I've seen used from scripture comes from the book of Esther, when she tells them to fast for three days and three nights, but on the third day, she went into the King. Esther 4:16-5:1

Luke 3:27 lists Shealtiel and Zerubbabel in his genealogy. These two also appear in Matthew 1:12 as descendants of the cursed Jeconiah. If Mary descends from them, it would also disqualify her from being a Messianic progenitor.
Since there is no other surviving genealogy after 70 CE either Christ is the Messiah or there is no Messiah, in which case both religions are a sham. There is no scenario here that works out the way Jews want it to. Moreover, there is not a single prophecy warning about a fake Messiah in the old testament. Seems like an odd thing to leave out. The Book of Revelation predicted the rise of Islam to a t, so maybe Jews need to take their complaints to God.

I am a believer, but I do not find in the Hebrew Bible where the Messiah will perform miracles, or that he will die for sins. In minute 32, "blaming the Jews" ... I recently came across an insistence that in John's Gospel we unfortunately read "Jews" in John's Gospel, where what is specifically meant is the Judeans, or the people living in and near Jerusalem. The Jews in Galilee were not Judeans, in this sense, and neither were many other Jews in Israel. This makes more sense of why John who is a Jew, but not a Judean, was willing to write so negatively about the Judeans who were opposed to Jesus. It goes completely against the minute 32 claim that the Jewish people collectively were being blamed. There were many Jews in Israel who are not included in John's references to the Judeans.

well I was a christian but I found out that I was wrong when I was actually teaching a class at South Garland Baptist church in Garland Texas.
