CCA C12 REVIEW - Quality 6 Driver Per Side Hybrid from CCA

- NOTE : One thing I forgot to mention was that these don't sound metallic or steely like the KZ ZS10 Pro do. These do have a peak at the upper mids / lower treble but it's at a acceptable level and was better when I changed the tips like I say in the video.
Here is my review of the CCA C12. This is from the company named Clear Concept Audio and is a sister company to KZ.
These have 5 balanced and a dynamic driver per side which is quite a feat for the price these sell at. Review will be soon.
I bought these from the AK store on AliExpress and the non affiliate link is below.

Below is the cheap KZ copper cable I recommend as a spare or a main cable for Type C / Paragraph C version.

Years ago, those tiny scratches will trigger my ocd badly, I might ended bought another pair for keepsakes. Right now, I would say those are marks of the owner's love, peace!
lol
I just removed the grills of my C12 and the sound changed a bit. Sub bass became more extended, but with a bit of bleed; highs less fatiguing and narrowed; mids less hollow and dry.
I might have to try that. Someone also recommends blocking the BA in the nozzle.
Henrix can you try remove cca c12 faceplate??because i want to make custom cca c12 faceplate soon
@@VortexReviews1 I tried it on my pair. I tested it with a perceptual sine wave sweep and 800-1200hz is a little lacking in volume, making low guitars disappear in the mix of some songs.
Removing the grille nearly imperceptibly changes the mids; oddly the BA's sound slightly less shrill with it gone. Must have caused some odd reflections.
There's no real earwax concern, either, with the size of the nozzle.
The grille is so fragile and wide open that cleaning it would have damaged it anyway.
I would try to find an eartip that helps those lower mids. I'd like to try the JVC spiral dot+ for this, but the price is abhorrent. Maybe one of the AZLA's?
@@cheyannei5983 I sold my C12 on but good to see the results from your testing that it doesn't sound as bad with the grille missing which is a surprise. I have not tried the AZLA tips.
I've been using CCA C12 for 10 months now. Super impressive. This video helped me to choose. I only use with Huawei phone. Xiaomi phone has HiFi sound but when it's on, I can't tweak the equaliser. So Huawei sounds much better.
.
Make sure you tweak sound equaliser and use high quality 320bit/ FLAC song to maximize C12's performance. Waiting my 16 core cable to arrive from China, for easier non tangled.
I am glad you like the C12 but I sold mine on.
Hi. Just saw your review and wondered about the exact name (and number?) of the KZ replacement eartips. I couldn't quite hear you so I'm awfully glad if you could answer my question so I'm sure what to look for? Thanks and cheers, Hans
The KZ tips are un officially named "starline". Hope that helps.
Hi, I'm a complete noob when it comes to IEM brands like Kz and Cca. I was wondering if a casual user like me who listens to music (spotify) will be able use a Cca C12 to listen to music on my phone? Basically, are IEMs with multiple drivers similar to regular earphones/earbuds/in-ears that we can use on our phones? Or would u suggest I just get a regular earphones like Sony mdr xb55ap?
You will be fine using a C12 with your phone. Hybrids are fine to use with phones but it depends how good the circuitry is in the phone.
These are going to be my first iems
Not a bad choice for chifi. Have you ordered them?
I just received my CCA C12 today. Tested for 4 hours on my android phone Huawei Nova 3i. I also compare against iPhone earpods (aged 4 years). Stock cable and ear tips used.
Songs tested: Metallica 320kps mp3, PussycatDolls FLAC, vocal songs on youtube, Eminem.
At first, C12 is definitely more detail. Vocal and instrument. Bass is nice and smooth. But some NOISE. So I tuned up equalizer. I use JetAudio free app, prefer two presets (headphone 2- more treble and rock 2-more bass), then I customised in between. Voila!! All songs then sound better. The difference to iphone earpods is more obvious. I copied same setting to built-in phone sound equalizer.
I also have cheap Sony mp3 player NWZ-B183, bass boost and equalizer are useless anyway. So I use flat. Still better than earpods. Improvement is clear.
Maybe I will buy HiFi mp3 player but someone said smartphone nowadays is good enough. Is it true?
Thanks for your impressions.
It depends on the phone but some are decent and some aren't. I prefer to use a digital audio player for music listening.
Also no need to post the same question twice.
@@VortexReviews1 thank you for your reply. One more question. Is it normal for IEM like CCA C12 to require equalizer tuned? Not just plug and play.
A lot of people use an equalizer these days.
I know you sold your C12, Vortex. But I'm new in this hobby and wanna know more if C12 is good for me.
I took your advice with CA2 because you said it's the best in the cheap budget price range.
I want to upgrade my CA2 because I'm not satisfied with its sound quality and right now I only can afford sub-$40 IEMs. C12 is probably a good option based on many reviews from IEM UA-camrs. Do you think C12 can play well on my smartphone?
Do you have any recommendation for IEMs under $40 beside C12 (that play well without DAP, DAC, AMP, and whatnot)?
C12 is easy enough to power but I found it too sharp at the upper mids but it should work okay on a smart phone. It depends on the sound you want but Blon 03, Tin T1 Plus, HZ Heart Mirror, KZ DQ6 (with a foam mod) , BQEYZ K2/KC2. I also prefer the KZ ZSX over the CCA C12.
@@VortexReviews1 Do you like TRN BA5 as well for IEMs under $50? More than CCA C12?
@@wanaboed The BA5 was okay but it did suffer from moisture issues on release and I don't know if it got fixed. It depends on what sound you want?
@@VortexReviews1 I don't really know how to explain the sound I want but the best IEMs that I currently have are KBEAR KS1 and CCA CSN.
I thought I want to upgrade to some under $50 IEMs because I'm not quite satisfied with my other under $20 collection, i.e NiceHCK DB3 and KZ ZSN PRO X.
Then I was like "screw under $20, let's upgrade to under $50". And I think CCA C12 is one of the best candidate, but still considering other options as well, including the successors of KZ ZAX, KZ ZAS.
@@wanaboed Out of the ZAX,ZSX,C12 and ZAS the ZAS would be the best pick but I have personally not tried it.
Any chance to fit a tip making it sweat/water proof?
Would you recommend CCA C12 or KZ ZS10 PRO for live monitoring??
I am unsure to be honest as I have not tried them for live monitoring but the C12 has elevated upper mids if that helps and the ZS10 Pro has a brighter treble from memory. Hope this helps.
@@VortexReviews1 Thanks alot, I'll take them into consideration. What about the TRN BA5? Are they recommended for monitoring?
@@oatlertprasertkong5287 They have a upper mid focus as well but the quality control is not that great but it seems to only affect earlier units like my bA5 is. Also the BA5 seems affected by moisture.
@@VortexReviews1 Ahh ok, I just realised that there's a big vent behind the BA5, I don't think that would be ideal for monitoring. Thanks for your help. Cheers
@@oatlertprasertkong5287 No problem and the CCA C10 seems to be a good offering for monitoring and has good isolation.
I'm having a problem with mine I just received today, the only play in stereo sound if I hold the mic button in, if I don't hold it in the sound is low and echoes, I'm wanting to use them as DJ headphones at home, I'm having to switch a button on my mixer to mono split to hear louder clearer buts it's not full stereo sound
Sounds like a bad cable.
do I need to upgrade my kz zsn pro x to cca c12 ?
I have never tired the ZSN Pro X but the C12 is an older IEM now and I sold mine ages ago. The new ZEX Pro Crinacle one is good.
How do you compare this to c10 pro? What's more detailed, bigger soundstage and better instruments seperation? Ty
I no longer have the C12 to compare to directly but the C10 Pro are a bright and detailed earphone. Instrument separation and soundstage a good on both but can't compare sorry.
How are the mids and imaging on this? I am thinking of getting these for gaming like csgo. I am torn between these and blon bl03
I sold these long ago but they do have boosted upper mids and I think the imaging was good.
@@VortexReviews1 ohh, I got the kinera sif. The imaging is excellent for it's price according to reviews online
@@keeoh5815 Glad you like the Sif for it's imaging.
i used qkz vk4 so it is worth it to upgrade to cca c12..i like a balanced iem so are cca c12 good for me :)???
sorry for my bad english
C12 are not that balanced to be honest.
Get moondrop cresent
Hello my friend. I have Revonext qt2s. Is it worth buying a cca c12 or Trn v90? The resolution is bass, treble in detail. Which is better in general
The C12 are more detailed but if you are happy with the QT2s then stick with them.
@@VortexReviews1 I am very happy with revonext Qt2 s. However, I am looking for more detailed, better resolution, bass treble 1 2 level better headphones in every sense
@@ismailsonmez4374 Maybe the CCA CA16?
@@VortexReviews1 aren't you saying anything clearly? It doesn't necessarily have to be cca c12. Do you have 2 times better headphone suggestions between 30 and 35 dollars than revonext qt2s
Audio is subjective and we all have different preferences. If you want good treble detail with a clean bass then the CCA CA16. The KZ ZSX has a little more upper mids and little more mid bass.
C12 vs Zs10 pro vs Zsx
Which one is the best?
Never tried the ZSX but I heard it is very similar to the CCA C12 as they have the same driver layout. I would pick the C12 over the ZS10 pro but they both have a brighter sound.
how do these earphones compare to well known brands?
Depends on cost to be honest. But the Chifi is very good these days and makes the Western manufacturers look pricey.
Cca c10 or cca c12 which one for balance ?
Neither are balanced but the C10 is the smoother sounding one. TRN V90 is a good option and is my next review.
cca c12 vs kz zs10pro.....who is best?
I no longer own either of these.
go
for c12
Remember kids CCA is sister company to kz.
Just for clarification.
Indeed and the KZ ZSX is the sibling of the C12.
can i remove cca c12 faceplate if i remove the screw??or maybe there glue the faceplate to the body??can you try it?? because i want to buy cca c12 and make custom faceplate to my cca c12(sorry for my bad english lol)
Your English is fine. I also don't know the answer as I have sold on the CCA C12.
yes you can.
You think Zs10pro or CCA C10 Better than ser.
I would not say they are better than each other just different.
I have The belief C12 Better than Decided to buy Now. Thx
@@zigzagonemoment9939 Nice one.
How is the instruments separation in these ?
The separation is good.
@@VortexReviews1 Thank you
Do you need a DAC with these?
Not really as long as your source is clean enough.
@@VortexReviews1 would an iPhone and MacBook Pro be enough?
@@samuelsanchez4596 They should be fine.
CCA C12 or BQEYZ KC2?
Good question. The C12 is the brighter sounding one and can sound a little dry in comparison. The KC2 is a little warmer sounding. Hope this helps.
How would these perform on Xbox compared to regular earbuds?
Depends on the earbuds but as a guess I would say these have more detail and bigger soundstage.
blon 03 or cca12?
Either in my opinion. Also the TRN V90 as well.
@@VortexReviews1 Thanks sir,, I already have the cca c10,, which one would you consider an upgrade? Trn v90, blon 03 or c12?
@@enzoscaviary8936 That's a good question. They are all good but the Blon needs the most work as it needs a cable swap/upgrade also the short nozzle may be a problem for some. The C12 has a peak in the upper mids which may or may not be fatiguing for some which the others don't have but the C12 and V90 have more treble detail than the Blon 03. I have yet to review the V90 and only had small time with it.
@@VortexReviews1 thanks fot the inputs sir,,I think v90 is tempting me now,, cheers to your channel 👏
@@enzoscaviary8936 My V90 review will be next week.
Bluetooth?
I have not tried them with a bluetooth receiver / adapter but they are easy enough to power.
cca c12 or kz zs10 pro?
I prefer the sound of the C12 as it doesn't sound metallic or steely like the ZS10 pro but the ZS10 pro is a little more comfortable.
@@VortexReviews1 what about build wise? i heard the c12 is still aluminium while the zs10 pro has used stainless steel.. correct me if im wrong. really considering to buy the c12. do you think it would worth my money over the zs10 pro?
@@VortexReviews1 im going to use it for live stage monitoring. would you still recommend the c12 or should i pick up the zs10 pro?
@@SammyDumanauw I think you are right with the metals used. If I didn't have either I would pick the C12 as the treble doesn't sound metallic like the ZS10 Pro also it's only a little more in cost.
@@SammyDumanauw That's a tough question to be honest as I have never used either in that situation. I can't really help sorry. They both do isolate well.
Horrible audio ,with a bad accent..
I have the KZ AS10's looking for a small upgrade
Would these be a good choice?
Possibly but the C12 has a brighter presentation.
This or kz as12?
I don't have the AS12 sorry and I have never heard them.
@@VortexReviews1 i see, thanks for responding and for the review!
