3:38 - DO NOT SKIP OUT ON THIS ADD-ON!! With the polarizing lens filter you bought, there's a trick to eliminating the glare from the glass showing the inside of the car. Once you've screwed it on, you'll notice that it still rotates. This is because the polarization works by only accepting light from set directions (like your car visor blocking out more direct sunlight if you angle it right), and you need to rotate to the right angle to block the light you want to block. The trick is to look at the on-screen display to gauge how much reflection is being allowed in and just rotate the filter ring like you're tuning in an old radio dial until it aligns to block out the glare from the angle of the glass. Even put something on the dashboard that really reflects back, a magazine or a takeout menu, for the best effect when setting up the filter.
That's a pretty layman's way of saying it, but luckily there's a short video (under two minutes) that shows how giving the filter a turn gets rid of the reflection from inside the car: ua-cam.com/video/XHPdkliPddk/v-deo.html - video courtesy of LifeHackster. He reviews a lot of camera equipment.
As you see from that video, it's pretty good if you give it a turn to align with blocking the light coming from the reflection angle. It's the same concept that allows you to see through the glare on the surface of water with polarized sunglasses. I'd like to see you do a follow up video for anything you've reviewed with a polarized filter on it, because that stuff you were saying about getting stuff for people that don't really care about tech? Anyone that does photography cringed a little.

I appreciate this mate! I will definitely try it out and will continue to expand my horizons on photography and videography to come back around to a polarized filter.

Try the camera with the cup first. There is a very simple trick with dental floss you need to do to remove the 3M tape, it is too strong to pull off. The floss makes it a hundred times easier and most people have a roll somewhere. I looked at the specs of the Sony image sensor they used and it is the 5 MP IMX 335. Being that 4K is 8 MP there was likely to be some upscaling there somewhere. That may partly explain the lack of sharp detail for small things like license plates. It is hard to find a truly good camera really.

If you get glare from the dashboard a polarizing filter can reduce or even eliminate that. Also a clean windshield helps a lot. Use some good glass cleaner or even rubbing alcohol applied to a microfiber cloth can get rid of any film that may be causing it. It is the kind of film you don't see until oncoming headlights make it difficult to see at night which can be scary and even dangerous. You don't have to be a smoker, off gassing of plastics in the vehicle and other environmental factors can cause it. Just don't spray the windshield directly, anything that lands on your dashboard might stain it. Also don't use Armor all or other things in your vehicle. You also would not want that junk on your steering wheel, it is icky and slippery and has no place there.
