Perhaps you are already considering starting a sketchbook practice, but those silly, negative thoughts may be holding you back. You may think that you lack the ability to draw or that you don't have enough time. Maybe you have attempted to start before but found yourself frequently giving up.
Keeping a sketchbook has been instrumental in my art career, and I get asked questions all the time about this practice. So I put together this video to share some of my favorite tips and I really hope it inspires you to start one today!
One of my missions throughout my art journey is to encourage and gently guide as many people as possible through the processes and layers of making beautiful art while tapping into the energy of creating joy.

I think 10 minutes a day!
Plan for 10 min. per day. You can always extend your time each day according to the time you have available and the enjoyment you are receiving.
It’s easier to hit the 10 min. goal and think of it as a me time / rest period everyday.

Hi Michelle! This little challenge I did turned out to open many other doors down the road. I had no idea, I started small and spent 30 minutes a day but I turned into a better artist. Flowers are my favorite too!

The only problem for me with setting a timer is it always makes me jump when it goes off and i end up putting a massive line through my sketch 😂
I know me too!
Locate the timer in a different area than where you are sketching. That way you can hear it in the background but it won’t startle you . Good luck!
