I like to organize different things in different books, thats how my brain works I think and now I know I am not alone and I am not weird or something! Before there were sketchbooks there were 3 ring binders. That's what i started pencil sketching in. Now, as with a lot of artists, I have several sketchbooks. Some I bought, some I made. Some are animals, some are flowers. I'm painting with watercolor in them. Such fun!! ❤
I just began watercolor painting a year ago and I am still in the process of learning a lot from the videos on UA-cam. Currently I have 2 sketchbooks I'm working in. The more I watch, the more I learn. I enjoyed your video today, I especially love how many sketch books you have currently open and working in. The other thing I loved is how your are able to draw and paint people.
I have 14 started sketchbooks too!!! Two technical sketchbooks for watercolors, one for pencil schemes like anatomy, one for writing down ideas, two for watercolor sketches and experiments SFW and NSFW, two the same but for pencil ones, one very big with bad but thick paper for gouache experiments and watercolor exercises, one very big amd square which I started with random drawings long time ago and idk how to use it now, one A6 sketchbook for pencil doodles and another A6 for watercolor doodles, even smaller one fir pencil ideas for my OC and the cheapest thinnest thing ever for trying color schemes for my finished pieces which I make on separated sheets 🙃
@@CecileYadro Thanks! :] and I forgot one more: watercolor sketchbook with cellulose paper for very light pieces in kinda shojo style? with a lot of white space. I did two drawings there and don't use it anymore as I don't have ideas for this style but I want to use it in future.
Thank you sooooo much for giving me permission to have multiple sketchbooks. I have at least 10 open sketchbooks and have felt like I should just work through one at a time, but I didn't know where to start or which one to concentrate on first. I now have the freedom to continue to go between sketchbooks and just enjoy the process!
Thank you for showing us your beautiful art! Usually, I buy paper sheets and cut them into the size I want for more than a year now I have been relying more and more on sketchbooks, and at the moment I am working on 5 sketchbooks: one for fast sketches, one for quick watercolors swatches, one for ink, and one for full watercolor paintings. The fifth is a handmade sketchbook I made from all the sheets I had lying around so it is a mixed-media sketchbook. ^-^
Really appreciate sharing your sketchbooks process. Very reassuring that it's OK to work in different mediums and with different topics. I currently have about six sketchbooks for pencil portaits, patterns, urban, one rough sketchbook for exploring ideas and thumbnail sketches, one for random stuff and one for watercolour abstracts but im sure there will be more!!! 😅
I really enjoyed the video. Wow it’s a great idea to have quite a number of sketchbooks, actually it really helps you in your art journey. Thank you for sharing ❤ I also keep a few sketchbooks so I can explore the art styles and different textures as well.
I currently have 10 sketchbooks in progress. That includes 3 small A6 sketchbooks in small army type pouches I made up to grab and go. two kits have a watercolor book, portable micro painter with a limited palette, brushes and pen/pen etc. One is for landscapes/seascapes and the other for urban sketching. The 3rd kit has a mixture of different colored pens and it's own book with thinner paper. I also have another portable micro painter with some gouache in that I can either add to or switch out with my landscape palette. My other sketchbooks are A5 and have different purposes like yours. Watercolor, gouache, notes and swatches and research, sketching with markers, 2 kraft paper books, one for practicing drawing rocks and the other for trees and the last one was a new brand and I've only done one painting in it. It'll be my next watercolor book when my other is finished. I keep a lot of journals too like one for my photography notes and one for notes from Skillshare courses I've done. I don't think I could live without my various books. They're recording my life's journey and are fun to look back through.
Hi! Nice to know that I’m not alone with the idea of working with 2 or more sketchbooks at the same time. My current number is 4 one in mix media and the others I have made my self with different paper quality for watercolour, gouache, acrylic gouache and oil pastel. So now I need to organise my self a little bit more in order to follow my progress and projects better. Thank you for sharing.
I have somewhere around a dozen, three that are small -4" x 6" or so, that will slip in my carry bag when I go out, one WC paper and the other two more general purpose but will take a light wash. Then there are three larger ones 9" x 12", one heavy WC paper for finished pieces, one lightweight WC paper for doodles and investigation, and one drawing paper for finished dry media drawings. One more is themed for a topic I am researching, Then at least four mid sized sketchbooks 5 1/2" x 8 1/2' or so, for rough pencil sketches. Having several there allows me to work on something else in book B while in the middle of a sketch in book A, and so forth. And a WC journal of the same size for working out smaller ideas I thought I was the only one who had my brain scattered across multiple books! I am glad to know I am not alone. Wonderful video.
Me, too. 🌸 I was feeling Not My Best for having so many unfinished sketchbooks… even tho I work in each one from time to time. 🌸🌸🌸 Thanks for sharing & letting me know this habit is not that unusual. 🌸
I totally agree with your method! This is exactly what I do. I thought I was being silly but different mediums require different paper. I bought a very nice “watercolor” sketchbook which is NOT suitable for watercolor so I had to change the color pencils My OCD wanted to remove the page that didn’t work but I didn’t. Thanks for sharing your topic ideas as well. Great info!!!
I Have one small for ballpoint pen portraits, another small one for other small portraits, one with thin paper for experiments, one small with thick paper for mixed media, one A5 for mixed media.
Salut Cecile! I'm so glad to find I'm not the only one! I have multiple sketchbooks because my interests, subject matter, and topics are varied. Thank you so much for sharing this. You gave me some awesome tips on how to put them all in some order, something my plethera of sketchbooks are lacking 🙃
I have AT LEAST 14 sketchbooks that I've worked in but still have many pages to complete and I always switch back and forth between them. It's nice to change things up.
Thank you for sharing, i usually work between 4-8 sketchbooks at a time I currently have 5 on the go. A watercolor, drafts for paintings, swatches and color palette combonations, urban sketching, gesture drawing and experimental work. If I'm working on a challenge i usually have a specific sketchbook for that particular challenge as well. Seeing all your sketchbooks made me so happy. It's nice to see that i am not the only one that has several sketchbooks on the go at the same time.
This is great - I'm a relative beginner and am finding that I'm getting more sketchbooks! I thought it wasn't OK but now I know it is! I have lots of loose sheets from before I really moved to sketchbooks and they're not so easy to store. Thank you for showing your sketchbooks and making me feel I'm 'allowed ' to have lots of sketchbooks myself ❤
I have about 10 sketchbooks, and about 4 pads that I use like sketcbooks. I love sketchbooks. They are fun. Each sketchbook I have has a topic, and a few are research or experimentation sketchbooks.
I have about 6 sketchbooks I’m working on right now. Different paper for different mediums and also for research. Love your content. Please keep sharing🙏🏼. Grateful to have found your channel
I'm in the same boat, i have multiple sketchbooks but they're not really organized in a certain way. Just options for mediums, like one is for sketching, a watercolor one, the other is for mixed media when I play with things other than watercolors, and a toned one when I play with oil pastels/chalk pastels, gouache, markers haha xD your paintings looks very pretty tho thanks for sharing ^^
You make me feel soooo much better! I have a favourite sketchbook but I always have several on the go. I feel terrible that I haven’t finished some - but then it’s often related to the medium I’m favoring at the moment. Love your work!
i use one sketchbook for classes, one for planning/ sketching my digital art, one for warm up exersises and a small one for sketching for urban scketching/ travel
I have several sketchbooks based on purpose: 1) for my daily dry media sketches 30m-1hr based on published photo prompts 2-4 subjects per side, 2) BTS Fan Art - portraits of a member or group poses dry media. 3) watercolor sketchbook divided - front watercolor/guache with backs covered with gesso for acrylic. , 4) study sketchbook - filled with skill-building exercises such as gesture drawings, perspective puzzles, timed sketches, etc, and 5) pattern sketchbook - zentangle designs on black paper. Usually, fill all of these within a calendar year or so. BTW - I have 2 lettering sketchbooks, unfinished, too.
I love having multiple sketchbooks too. I have one which is my catch it all for sketching, brainstorming and researching, and then i have several with various paper types for watercolor, gouache and alcohol based markers. I especially love having tan or grey paper ❤
I am inspired by your wonderful sketchbooks. I only have one at the moment, since I began keeping a visual diary while I learn to draw in a representational way. I might be making a trip to my local art shop now for more.
I too have several sketchbooks. I mostry make them myself, but I also buy some. I haven't counted them, but like you, I have them for different purposes. One is for client sketches where I sketch logo ideas that I can later scan and present to the client. Then I have my current main sketchbook. This year I made it from several types of paper, including brown wrapping paper, to allow for more mediums without wasting precious cotton paper for unnecessary things. I have one where I write or sketch ideas, lists, test materials, etc. Two smaller ones that I usually use for Inktober. A larger one for portrait studies. I also started making location dedicated sketchbooks because my husband took up fishing and there are several places we go back to, so I decided to have a sketchbook for each of this places. I'll see how that goes compared to having one dedicated fishing sites sketchbook. And lastly, I have several sketchbooks that I bought and started, but don't have a precise scope yet.
Currently, I have six sketchbooks that I’m working in. Maybe more lol! But after watching this video, I’m inspired to crack open a few more. I love this video so much- informative and inspiring! Thank you for sharing!! ❤
Yes! Finally someone who works in multiple sketchbooks, too! I have 6 sketchbooks going at the moment: One big square "pretty art" watercolor sketchbook, one a5 "ugly" watercolor sketchbook for just doodles and trying things and drawing with low pressure, one black paper sketchbook, one a5 sketchbook for courses and workshops, one square alcohol marker sketchbook, one big square leuchtturm sketchbook for low pressure sketching and learning to draw humans and other new subjects and trying new art supplies and just having fun with mixed media and mostly dry media.
I have multiple sketchbooks because I like to work in different mediums. I currently am working with colored pencils and watercolors but I have other mediums, I've used over the years, that I want to use again. Each needs its own special paper so I have a number of sketchbooks new, and previously used ready to go as I have time to work in them.
Thank you for the permission to have so many sketch book I have a rule that I must finish a sketch book before starting another. You have liberated me I think like you do with the categories but for some reason I felt the need to impose a rule that drove me nuts. ❤
I currently have two: one for assignments from new masters academy, and one nature/journal sketchbook. I want to add an urban sketchbook! But I’m still learning how to draw
Hi! I’m currently working in 2 different sketchbooks. One is for only portraits and the other is for a variety of mediums and topics. I can definitely relate to your need for multiple sketchbooks! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
I have a sketchbook for each animation project/topic, then general art sketchbooks and some just for planning the work. Right now I have 5 currently open. I agree with you that a sketchbook is a journey, full of memories. It would be useful if you add a line when you are showing the sketchbook with brand name/paper weight. The garden's one 🌻 seems a regular notebook, but handling well experiments/water media. I don't know why they don't produce a sketchbook with different type of paper and toned paper inside...
Hi, Cecile.. it's so interesting to see how different artists work in multiple books.. I only have a couple that I work in simultaneously , as I find it too easy to " forget" about one that's half finished .. Also , limited space becomes an issue for me.. I tend to just stick to one book that has paper that can handle multiple mediums , and just play and practice in it , almost daily, until it's finished .. I started my sketchbook habit about 5 years ago , and I think I've gone past 50 books , and still going lol.. I love it , and love seeing what I've done, and see the changes or evolution of my work.. Thanks so much for this video .. Norakag 😁😁
Ok, now I don't feel bad. I currently have 9 sketchbooks going. I recently bought a couple more so, I'm probably going to have another one going pretty soon. I just love them, and each has a slightly different purpose. I have one that's only thumbnails and one is only for markers. And three are watercolor books, one of which is just my swatch book. Each has it's purpose and I turn to them all on a regular basis. Great video!
3 for watercolor, 2 for gouache and 2 for pen. I want to start another for gouache to see how I like toned paper. I really enjoyed your whiskey bottle tutorial on black paper and Sarah Burns keeps talking about toned tan paper. So I have to try that new sketchbook out for gouache, which has tan, grey and black. Great video!
i just bought a grey one and want to paint inside. but I want to finish one before, so I keep a (not so) reasonable number of sketchbooks open at the same time.
Hello from New England!! I currently have 5 different sketch books going. Still searching for my favorite sizes , paper, and brands. Thanks for sharing your process!
Lots of them, not quite as organized as yours - not by category, though I do have some just for watercolor. I have them throughout the house, ready to be utilized. The finished ones I put in a drawer and I put them up on shelves, open to different pages I love looking at at different times. (My sketchbooks are mostly wire-bound.) I hate re-reading my journals, but I absolutely love looking through my sketchbooks! Love seeing yours - so much talent! Love the underwater!
That was so good to see, Cecile. I am only a beginner, but have already accumulated quite a number of sketchbooks (and art materials in general). Have only recently started to try sorting them into categories re how I would like to use them, and have found your video very helpful. 'THANK YOU!!!. Still in the process though of trying to work out which sketchbooks will be best for which mediums.
I seem to be in perpetual re-entry. I have a few old purchases with dubious paper that I will use as drawing warmups with dry media and the set of colored pencils I need to use up. These vary in size; I do have a few of the goals brands/specs that I have targeted for predominantly gouache and my mixed media, smooth enough to be nice drawing surfaces. Size, paper, planned themes make a stack that includes lined journals for general art notes/ideas, horses/painting and customizing 3D pieces, plans to use much of a beading collection in free-form embroidery, color mixing. Main media colored pencils, gouache, acrylics.
I have one for evening in front of the tv…mixed media..one specifically for ink…one for finished portraits (art book)..one for hands, one for cats, several for watercolor..i think thats it…i mainly do portraits.
@@CecileYadro hi..its portrait practice in different mediums..just experimental..i cant just sit there..(im currently doing “100 faces”…im at 93..) then i get to move to a new sketchbook that i handmade and bookbound stitched.
I have ... somewere between 5and 10? Different Mediums, and I just Fond my love for big sketchbooks. I do like small ones to, 20 to 40 pages are grade for spezifik topics
I have a sketchbook that is just for watercolor pencil work. I have another that is just for watercolor water scenes. I have several small ones that I use for air travel. I have another one for messing around in. I have... well, like you, I love sketchbooks. Just got another one in the mail today.
Your artworks are gorgeous! The one i liked the most was with the urban sketches, but they are all gorgeous. And i not just love but also tottally agree with the idea of having more than one sketchbook. I, myself bought 2 this year, but I also have some other type of papers for specific media :)
Thats such an awesome video. i too have many sketch books but facing paper sizing issues therefore now i have decided to start finishing them one by one. I want to buy new ones 🙂
Love that you obviously do the Sktchy challenges! Saw some of my mates' classes in there and have also got quite a few of the same images, well, my version of them 😀 I have two sketchbooks but that's enough for me. That said, I do understand the thought process behind keeping them categorised.
Very inspiring! The portrait Art sketchbook is beautiful! I am struggeling to use sketchbooks. I don’t tend stick to them and abendon them. It’s weird. But your System is amazing. Maybe i should use this system
I laughed out loud when you said "I say 14 but I am sure I have more, I just don't want to scare you" :-) So I had to go back and count and I counted 33 on the shelf (at the 12.51 mark). Now I am really curious how many you have in total that are "open" currently! I am so glad you shared your passion for sketchbooks... I used to think I had too many open and that I "should" finish them before I open another one but now I don't feel so bad with my 23 still to be completed sketchbooks! 🙂
I am the same. I mostly do stuff in my: crap art sketchbook (second edition going), but I also have: solids sketchbooks (where I draw solids only, shaded or not), flowers sketchbook, eyes sketchbook and that is all for now. :P But then again, I'm pretty much a beginner. :P
I have seven or eight sketchbooks going, although I've only worked in... I think four of them in the last couple of months. But yeah, I've never been able to stick to one at a time, although I've always have the vague idea that I should. :P Glad to know it's not just me. :)
i also work in more then 1 one for traveling one for nature journaling one for dogs one for tutorials i attened and also blocks and yes also because of the different papers you need what i should have is a research sketch book and then i have also several journals for reading as agenda and so on addicted to sketchbooks and journals and pens and all stationary hahahaha
Bonjour, merci, très très intéressant à regarder. Des sous-titrages en français seraient les bienvenus, Cécile, s’il vous plaît. C’est à votre portée 😀😉. Amicalement, Christiane.

Before there were sketchbooks there were 3 ring binders. That's what i started pencil sketching in. Now, as with a lot of artists, I have several sketchbooks. Some I bought, some I made. Some are animals, some are flowers.
I'm painting with watercolor in them. Such fun!! ❤
Enjoy!
I am so glad it is not just me! Thank you!
Hehe! 😉
Thank you!!!
Wow! you're very organized!
Glad I could help!
That's a great idea! I did that a while ago and i want to make another one now!
WOW!!! Your underwater paintings are amazing!
Thank you so much 😀
Really appreciate sharing your sketchbooks process. 😅
Glad it was helpful!
I really enjoyed the video. Wow it’s a great idea to have quite a number of sketchbooks, actually it really helps you in your art journey. Thank you for sharing ❤ I also keep a few sketchbooks so I can explore the art styles and different textures as well.
Thanks for watching!
Love this!
Thanks for sharing!!
So happy to see your sketchbook video. It was very validating for my pile.
Ah! Good to know!
And a WC journal of the same size for working out smaller ideas
I thought I was the only one who had my brain scattered across multiple books! I am glad to know I am not alone.
Wonderful video.
Thank you! you seem very organized!
What paper do use mainly in your books
It vary, I like 300 gsm watercolor paper, but it can be less. I have one now at 160 gsm drawing paper and I use it with a pen only.
Finally! One like me, I also use many sketchbooks simultaneously. Thank you, you are great!
Yay, thank you!
Me, too. 🌸 I was feeling Not My Best for having so many unfinished sketchbooks… even tho I work in each one from time to time. 🌸🌸🌸 Thanks for sharing & letting me know this habit is not that unusual. 🌸
And in art there are no rules, you do you!
I get that when you don’t make the right thing inside and you want to tear the page!!!
I Have one small for ballpoint pen portraits, another small one for other small portraits, one with thin paper for experiments, one small with thick paper for mixed media, one A5 for mixed media.
You like to work small, it seems?
@@CecileYadro I am intimidated by big paper
Salut Cecile! I'm so glad to find I'm not the only one! I have multiple sketchbooks because my interests, subject matter, and topics are varied. Thank you so much for sharing this. You gave me some awesome tips on how to put them all in some order, something my plethera of sketchbooks are lacking 🙃
A bit or organization won't hurt when you have a lot of sketchbooks. Mostly it's because I know where to find something when I need it.
I love sketchbooks too! I think it’s my top favorite place to create art. I usually have 5-6 going at a time. Glad I found your channel!! 🎉
Thanks so much 😊
I have AT LEAST 14 sketchbooks that I've worked in but still have many pages to complete and I always switch back and forth between them. It's nice to change things up.
Yes! And when you finish one it’s sooooo good!
And what's best than finishing one? Opening an new one!!! 😂
@@CecileYadroYes!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I have about 10 sketchbooks, and about 4 pads that I use like sketcbooks. I love sketchbooks. They are fun. Each sketchbook I have has a topic, and a few are research or experimentation sketchbooks.
Thanks for sharing!!
Loved your sketch books categories! I categorize my sketchbooks by mediums and right now I have 7 going.
Have fun with your seven sketchbooks!
4. Two for abstracts, one for watercolor, and one for dry/mixed-media.
that’s neat!
I have about 6 sketchbooks I’m working on right now. Different paper for different mediums and also for research. Love your content. Please keep sharing🙏🏼. Grateful to have found your channel
Thanks a lot! 6 is a reasonable number of sketchbooks!
Thanks for watching! Happy to know I'm not alone!!!
Very nice work! I have at least 20, mostly smaller sizes. They’re all different but there is some continuity throughout.
Oh wow!
You make me feel soooo much better! I have a favourite sketchbook but I always have several on the go. I feel terrible that I haven’t finished some - but then it’s often related to the medium I’m favoring at the moment. Love your work!
No worries! I even opened a new sketchbook this week, while having a dozen unfinished.
i use one sketchbook for classes, one for planning/ sketching my digital art, one for warm up exersises and a small one for sketching for urban scketching/ travel
A sketchbook to plan digital art? How so?
Thank you for your message, good to know I'm not the only one to be so specific about my sketchbooks!
I love having multiple sketchbooks too. I have one which is my catch it all for sketching, brainstorming and researching, and then i have several with various paper types for watercolor, gouache and alcohol based markers. I especially love having tan or grey paper ❤
Tan or grey paper are great for gouache!
I am inspired by your wonderful sketchbooks. I only have one at the moment, since I began keeping a visual diary while I learn to draw in a representational way. I might be making a trip to my local art shop now for more.
Go for it!
I did mixed papers sketchbooks years ago, now I want to make more when I read your comment, thank you! Fishing sketchbooks? that’s a fun topic!
Amazing work. So glad I am not the only one to have many sketchbooks gor different purposes on the go. Thankyou gor sharing.
Thanks so much! 😊
I have a lot of sketchbooks as well...I wish to be good as you one day.....thank you!
Thank you so much 😀
Currently, I have six sketchbooks that I’m working in. Maybe more lol! But after watching this video, I’m inspired to crack open a few more. I love this video so much- informative and inspiring! Thank you for sharing!! ❤
Thanks for your message!
Yes! Finally someone who works in multiple sketchbooks, too! I have 6 sketchbooks going at the moment: One big square "pretty art" watercolor sketchbook, one a5 "ugly" watercolor sketchbook for just doodles and trying things and drawing with low pressure, one black paper sketchbook, one a5 sketchbook for courses and workshops, one square alcohol marker sketchbook, one big square leuchtturm sketchbook for low pressure sketching and learning to draw humans and other new subjects and trying new art supplies and just having fun with mixed media and mostly dry media.
i need a small black one now!!!
@@CecileYadro black paper and gouache is such an underrated combo!
Ah! I bought my black sketchbook. Now go fill it!
Special paper for mediums, I get that!
Thank you so much...what an inspiring video... this has been very helpful...if not liberating for me!!! Just wonderful!
Glad it was helpful!
WOW! I loved all your sketchbooks, very interesting. Love your passion for them. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@CecileYadro yes😊
Thank you for the permission to have so many sketch book I have a rule that I must finish a sketch book before starting another. You have liberated me I think like you do with the categories but for some reason I felt the need to impose a rule that drove me nuts. ❤
Wonderful! happy to help!!!
I currently have two: one for assignments from new masters academy, and one nature/journal sketchbook. I want to add an urban sketchbook! But I’m still learning how to draw
Keep going and have fun!
I live this video - i have about 10 on the go!! I used to feel bad about this but now i realise that this suits me ❤
and that’s the most important!
I currently have 8 sketchbooks on the go at present. I am exploring different mediums and techniques.
That's fun, isn't it?
Hi! I’m currently working in 2 different sketchbooks. One is for only portraits and the other is for a variety of mediums and topics. I can definitely relate to your need for multiple sketchbooks! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for your message!
I don't know why they don't produce a sketchbook with different type of paper and toned paper inside...
the garden sketchbook is a drawing paper 140 gsm nothing fancy, it’s the student first price.
Hi, Cecile.. it's so interesting to see how different artists work in multiple books.. I only have a couple that I work in simultaneously , as I find it too easy to " forget" about one that's half finished .. Also , limited space becomes an issue for me.. I tend to just stick to one book that has paper that can handle multiple mediums , and just play and practice in it , almost daily, until
it's finished .. I started my sketchbook habit about 5 years ago , and I think I've gone past 50 books , and still going lol.. I love it , and love seeing what I've done, and see the changes or evolution of my work.. Thanks so much for this video .. Norakag 😁😁
Hi Nora, that's great to be able to work in a single sketchbook and finish it. I'm guilty of beginning them more than finishing them!
Thank you! I like the idea of having one just for thumbnails!
Have fun!
Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very inspiring to see your set up. I work in about 5 to 7 at the same time
That is awesome!
Maybe 3! But I’m inspired to crack open a 4th 😃 Your messy desk looks a lot like mine. YAY!
hehe, messy artist too?
Wow! you're busy!
@@CecileYadro It's more an accumulation of intentions from the last decade or two! :)
I have one for evening in front of the tv…mixed media..one specifically for ink…one for finished portraits (art book)..one for hands, one for cats, several for watercolor..i think thats it…i mainly do portraits.
What are you drawing in front of the tv? portraits from the show?
@@CecileYadro hi..its portrait practice in different mediums..just experimental..i cant just sit there..(im currently doing “100 faces”…im at 93..) then i get to move to a new sketchbook that i handmade and bookbound stitched.
I have ... somewere between 5and 10? Different Mediums, and I just Fond my love for big sketchbooks. I do like small ones to, 20 to 40 pages are grade for spezifik topics
Big sketchbooks with a lot of pages are so looooong to fill!
I have a sketchbook that is just for watercolor pencil work. I have another that is just for watercolor water scenes. I have several small ones that I use for air travel. I have another one for messing around in. I have... well, like you, I love sketchbooks. Just got another one in the mail today.
Buying them is so fun!!!
Your artworks are gorgeous! The one i liked the most was with the urban sketches, but they are all gorgeous. And i not just love but also tottally agree with the idea of having more than one sketchbook. I, myself bought 2 this year, but I also have some other type of papers for specific media :)

Wow this video is very interesting & inspirational for me. Thanks so much for sharing this Cecile!
Glad you enjoyed it Colleen!
Thank you very much for your beautiful art. Greetings from Lima, Peru.
Thank you too!
Thats such an awesome video. i too have many sketch books but facing paper sizing issues therefore now i have decided to start finishing them one by one. I want to buy new ones 🙂
I must confess I buy new ones before finishing the first ones.
Love that you obviously do the Sktchy challenges! Saw some of my mates' classes in there and have also got quite a few of the same images, well, my version of them 😀 I have two sketchbooks but that's enough for me. That said, I do understand the thought process behind keeping them categorised.
yes, i did several Sktchy challenges, and have been a teacher several times there.

😂 ooops! you caught me! actually is closer to 40 as there are others hidden here and there!!!

solid sketchbook? interesting!
I have seven or eight sketchbooks going, although I've only worked in... I think four of them in the last couple of months. But yeah, I've never been able to stick to one at a time, although I've always have the vague idea that I should. :P Glad to know it's not just me. :)
