- I can't believe that the video is FINALLY out.. The title is a little bit of a joke of course haha, but partly true ;)
He did so well and its so enjoyable. Once we will get everything fitted perfectly and we build some condition and find nice places to drive I think we will have lots of great times!
I got the tack from: www.minihorseshop.nl
Enjoy!

I love that Jesse doesn't want to put the blinkers on, so that Bear can see everything!
Jesse is so sweet and caring 🥰
Cute.... but in the long run, not the best choice for safety. If you've ever seen or experienced a carriage accident you wouldn't think going without blinkers was anything but 😱😬. The reason for the blinkers is to keep the horse from being spooked, or distracted, by something on either the side of them. If a horse - even a pony - goes sideways or rears while hooked up it can be bloody and ugly.
It is better that bear had the blinkers on
idk, most carriage accidents i've seen happened because an object suddenly appears and the horses can't turn their heads to spot it before it scares them.
Bear got spooked for a second but quickly collected himself again, i think once they go out more often he'll react less, he's just solely used to his paddock. 😌 whatever their decision will be, i'm sure it will be the one that works best for Bear!
Okay, let me clear this up... Blinkers are mostly not used to limit a horses vison, or to keep them from being spooked. In carriges with more than one horses, sometimes you have to use your whip to communicate with one horse, and we dont want the others to see that, so they dont think they did something wrong.
Its really simple, but i still often see people who dont know it.
My impression from this video.
Matt: Loud but cautious
Jesse: Quiet but YOLO
We need a “Bear and Jesse Adventures” channel, where Jesse takes Bear places and they can experience new things together :)
Love the idea
I saw a video where Jesse was showing all the horses and bear was wanting attention from him so bad and Jesse did not give him any acknowledgement
"Hes not fat, he's just chonky!!"....love Jesse...!
"You don't have right of way, you take it." That had me in stitches
Hello
Jesse you really are the most compassionate human ever. It’s a beautiful quality to have and it can be rare these days. Never change. You are so wonderful for horses. They are emotional animals they feel all the emotions. And I love that you gave bear positive encouragement after Matt called him fat. It shows how compassionate you are. Bear is adorable.
So true...
“You don’t have right of way you take it” 🤣
'You don't have right of way. You take it.' My new life motto.
The carriage part with the sound of bears little hoofs striking the groud had great asmr potential.
Am I here just for Jesse and Matt’s antics together, yep! “Ok, good story”. Relationship goals 🥰
are they dating?
Jesse - so much talent, so much humility!
I always find it impressive how easily little bear can carry the carriage and two grown adults ! So much strength !
The amount of banter in this video is just pure gold 😂
Like an old married couple😂🤣
8:15 "can you imagine he just spooks and we go in the ditch?" ::clicks tongue to go faster:: 😆
It may sound weird at first but when I go to a carriage drive with harness racing shetlands, I encourage them to go faster if they find something scary. The idea behind that is to train the pony spook forwards instead of spooking sideways when pulling a cart. It is so much safer for everyone that the horse speeds up and feels like it's running away from the scary thing than for it to turn around or step sideways.
And this training done with a horse from a young age has saved me a couple of times while driving big warmblood trotters! When the horse's first instinct is to run forwards instead of anything else, I won't fall, the carriage won't fall and the horse won't escape. I have time to guide the horse to a safe place and calm them there.
So speed can be your ally and not your enemy sometimes 😁
@@Ristikettu Ah! Thanks for the explanation! Maybe that's what Matt was doing.
@@Ristikettu sorry I’m late, but I’m going to ask an odd question. As weird as it sounds, I’m training my dog to drive. Do you think that would work the same? He’s not exactly scared as he gets distracted. Would pushing him forward be better than stopping?
@@DrakonEmpire Training dogs is completly diffrent than training horses. I would say get a book on dog driving.
@@iusedtobeadventurerlikeyou1352 they are actually very similar. Same commands pretty much, and ngl I’m pretty sure my dog thinks he’s a horse. He was raised as a puppy around horses so ig it makes sense.
I adore these casual videos and the banter between Jesse and Matt.
I love that Jesse gave Bear a massage afterward!!
Enjoying this video so much and delighted to see you both together with your animals… More please 🌺
I just wish they'd use boots on the ponies on hard surfaces like Emma Massingale does. Not only do they stop the slipping from metal on tarmac, they stop the pain in the pony's legs. People should try walking in metal shoes on tarmac and see how their legs feel. Because even in dress shoes instead of shoes made for sports, people get shin splints from walking or running on hard surfaces!! 😟
My Haflinger had a custom made harness and we never used blinders. He loved to drive all over the neighborhood looking at everything
Ah yes, what's better than afternoon drive in the morning haha. Bear is a pro!
Bear did really well. I love that Jesse wants his horses to be as free as possible. Overall blinkers aren't a bad piece of harness kit if they stop a nervous pony from spooking but Bear didn't seem too jumpy. I am used to watching the Friesian Horses channel cart rides through the countryside and the area Matt and Jesse live in is just as beautiful. The Netherlands is on my bucket list of countries to visit if I am ever rich enough to make it to Europe. It does seem odd to have only one pony pulling but I forget how strong minis really are. He wasn't having any trouble pulling the boys the around and seemed to be enjoying it. That looks to be a good gentle exercise routine for Bear. Imagine how wild a ride it would be if Macho was hitched ahead of Bear lol.
Horses can pull way more than they can carry. It would even be hard to exceede what bear can pull in a pleasure cart
Hello how are you doing
His little hoofs on the ground is my new favorite sound😁💞
Nothing compares to the netherlands, just the wind in your hair and country roads. A wonderful country
🥺🥺🥺 awww I know I’ve said this before but we must protect Jesse at all costs. He’s such a sweet kind soul 💕
Bear is an old pro at driving. BTW he’s not fat…he’s fluffy ❤️💪🏼
We defentetly need a competition between Bear and Matcho!
And please make more horse driving videos
The ‘LOUDDD’ scared me😂😂 we need more videos like this!❤️
I rescued an 11.1 hand Shetland cross sight unseen. She came weighing almost 600lbs with a standard donkey jack. She in fact was not pregnant, just a very "thrifty" pony. Twelve years later and she's 400lbs and looks is so much happier. I'm so happy to see you two concerned with Bear's health.
Wow, you did an amazing job!!!
I think Bear has chosen a new
owner, Jesse, THANK YOU for
loving him the way you do! 😊
Jesse and Matt, your videos are pure happiness!!! 😊 ❤
Every time Matt calls him fat he side eyes him. Lol horses know what we mean. They are so smart. Bear is adorable
Matt takes over any video he's in. Jesse is such a calm exceptional horseman. No drama at all.. loved his handling of Macho in Aachen!
I love the banter and the chaos
Bear reminds of this saying “I’m not fat. I’m bold!”
That would be so cool to see Macho and Bear pulling the cart together ❤️
Yes, with you, Matt and your
two little doggies ❤️🌺❤️
I love how Jesse works, and how he does things with the horses, so lovely! I also love the fact about the blinkers off, .. he's got such a nice way with the horses 🌺
Hello how are you doing
Great video! You two are adorable.
very enjoyable 13 minutes. ty guyz
Beach vehicles have huge tires. If you look up handicapped beach chairs or something you will see. Maybe something can be adapted for special beach trips. LOVE seeing Bear busy. I also love that he can see all around him. I think the blinders were used in city traffic situations to keep horses from being spooked and over stimulated. If your horse is well trained to passing vehicles then that should be enough? Look how he got to see the foal, sheep, etc. How interesting that was for him.
I have the notion spooking around my head (pun intended) that blinkers are also used if you have more than one pair of horses drawing your carriage, so that the pole horses don't get frightened by the forehorses' reins floating around in their peripheral vision?
'Ok, good story.' LOL LOL
Thank you!! We’ve missed seeing your babies in a home setting playing with you both🤗. Will we see Africa footage soon???
Hello how are you doing
Bear is a STAR! And he looked like he was enjoying himself, too🥰💖🥕
Bear probably likes it- he’s working and feels he is doing something for you. ❤️ and he does look all proud of himself! So adorable.
My grandfather taught me how to tack up horses for riding and cart. He is from a generation here in the states that used horse and plow as he grew up on the family farm. I watched him turn horse plows and mowers into machine powered. The mini is just too cute.
he’s not over weight- he’s UNDER tall!!! i had a pony with similar color; i was told she was a silver dappled appaloosa 😂😂 apple dapple 😂🤣😂😆🤣
Bear is the cutest pony ever!
The house and grounds look super georgis. Horse have a beautiful place to live
OMG! Cutest video ever! Bear is the sweetest little pony! Just like Macho! Ok big boys, they are called BLINDERS. They stop carriage horses from getting distracted or spooked. Bear is a beautiful sugar lump and I don't think he looks fat! He pulled both of you quite well too!
This could have been an hour long and I still would watch it. Thanks for the laughs 😅
Your noun for being quite and I’m noun for being LOUD!! 😂
You guys are so funny 🤣
"Its brown and black ACTUALLY" *Matt does a dramatic eye roll*
This was so fun, it could be an entire series of going different places. I seriously love it. The big horses would be even better!!!
Blinkers. Jesse is so sweet. 😊😊😊
He is too cute pulling the carriage. He seems to love it.😍🐎🐎🐎🐎
Bear looks exactly like my female miniature horse named Delilah. I've been really wanting to get a cart for her and this was so helpful. I love the countryside of where you live and your beautiful property. Thank you for sharing.
Omg he’s off the charts Sooooo Cute❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
Why fight over this darling pony ,when there is plenty-o-pony to go around.
Bear is such a sweetie! 🐴
This was adorable and so much fun to watch! It looks like Bear quite enjoyed it too. I can just imagine driving down a country road one day though and seeing two tall young men in a tiny cart with an even tinier pony trotting along. It would be the best sight!
What a cute drive! ❤
One of the funniest videos ever… I had to stop in the middle to tell you. Love it! The scene of who is quiet and who is loud is hilarious. 😄 Had to switch back to watch it again and again.
Hello how are you doing
I love how they are such a couple
Aww, watching bear trot is so cute 🥰
Love this video with you guys together! Thx. Such fun! 😊
Mygosh i found myself smiling the whole time and really enjoyed seeing the scenery with you guys!!! I loved riding along with yous!!! Please bring us along for the next drive!!!!
How fun! More carriage rides please!
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I will say he was puggier the very first time you drove him compared to this new posting. What cutie!! Susan
Bear and Macho pulling a carriage together would be so cute!!
Okay but where you live is literally SO PRETTY
ADORABLE!!! What a fun way to spend time with your ponies!!!
Thank you, love this beautiful video! I couldn't stop giggling. Best wishes Jesse and Matt.
You could tell he loved pulling the little carriage .
❤ look like a lot of fun 😊
This is one of the most comical videos! Thank you so much Matt, Jesse, and of course Bear for the laughs! This video made my month! 🥰😍
I absolutely adore your videos, you and Matt are soooooo funny together (especially the grass part 😂😂😂) keep spreading equine love and laughter 🫶🏻🫶🏻💗
Bear is so adorable. Great little carriage horse. I like that hebis able to look around . So nice to see both of you working on a video together.
Cute. Bear seems to enjoy it. That was so cute and he did so well...💖
Hello how are you doing
As a driver of a miniature shetland some things, well actually just one big improvement for Bear, caught my eye in the video. So please just take these hints. First use a driving whip instead of slapping him with the reins, the slapping with the reins is something he feels in his mouth so it is confusing for him, because reins are for steering. Secondly driving without blinkers is completely fine, I actually have a pony that is scared easily. And he scares even more easily with then without blinkers because with them he sees so little that he can't place other noises, now he looks and sees it is a car or a truck or something else that makes the noise. Good luck with your future driving plans, driving mini's really is fun!
This was so worth the wait! Funniest video you guys have done in a while. Matt is Bears agent and that free tack was GORGEOUS!!!
Bear is so cute as a driving pony! I need to buy a cart and drive my standardbred who was trained in races and as a carriage horse.
Matt was so scared that they were going to wreck because Bear gets spooked!!!! This whole thing was hilarious! The people in the background doing yard work, Matt yelling Goda#### , all of it!! I love you guys! You could make a hundred videos a day and I would watch!!!
Hello how are you doing
Thank you so much Jesse for this pleasant walk in the beautiful dutch countryside. A very enjoyable and funny video as always when you and Matt are together. Bear did a great job and he handles the turns like a pro! 👍 He likes to do this exercise, which he already did with his previous owner. Two or three walks a week would be perfect for him although Bear is not fat but plump.
Jesse you are so patient, gentle and caring e.g. the new gear and the massage at the end 🤗
Love to you both and to all the furry family 🥰💙
Bear is adorable. Jesse with the blinkers comment was adorable too. Beautiful scenery on your ride.
Just love Matt’s attitude and vibe being full on drama in this😂should be like this more often
Ew no. He’s a prick. Rude to Jesse and obsessive over who owns Bear. Matt is an asshole, this is Jesses channel. Why is Matt taking over the whole video, even rude about the sponsor points with his foot with disrespect. Then says “you’re using MY horse?” I never realized how rude Matt us to Jesse til now.
Fun! I love all the affection you give your pony! He has it made! 💕
These things are called blinkers, or "Scheuklappen" as we germans say xD
I do use them, since they help the horse to be more concentrated. Even though my babypony is learning to pull the carriage without them, since he's very interested in everything and I want him to learn, that there's no reason to stand still like a statue and stare everything to death XD
love the clip clop sound!
Again, tooooo cute!
Lol, “ you don’t have right of way,you take it” love it!
Perfect weight loss activity.
He is so adorable 🥰, love the banter
Beautiful video all way round. The men. The horse. The scenery. Loved it!
“You know what you can do is get his bridle *woo hoo* *claps*”
“Ok yeh that I can do”
😂Bear puts up with so much.❤❤❤. You two are hilarious!!😊
Thanks for the constant smile on my face! ❤
Jesse I love how you're a no blinders/bits kind of guy. Wonderful video. You and Matt together are a hoot 😁
Jesse you have the best personality!!
This video just made my day in every possible way!!! Thank you.
Oh goodness, how funny! You guys have a great sense of humor and so much fun together. Thanks for the smile! More of Bear, and matcho please ! I love these driving videos and also more nature trail rides please!
Driving is so fun and Bear looks like he is really happy to go.
Now that’s just adorable 🥰 Bear handled everything like a pro! Good job passing the baby pigs! 😳 Love your neighborhood 😍
