man.... jazz musicians are on another level. it's incredible how they can just improvise and still work together and make everything so cohesive. it's mind boggling to me as someone who doesn't know a damn thing about music.
Only saying this to share some more drum magic, but...my favourite is still Matt Garstska's playthrough of Inner Assassins. The first half is incredible. The second half...is impossible!
Call me a philistine, but I'm having trouble keeping track of the downbeat. Can anyone help me out with this? I've listen plenty to the original recording and can intuatively follow that, but I struggle without the instrument parts
One way to help with that is to keep singing the ostinato out loud or in your head. A lot of times that’s more effective at keeping time throughout a complicated pattern
This is so badass...but I can't help but feel like it's missing something to glue it all together. Maybe: Guitars Bass Keys Horn Section Percussion Synths MAY...be able to add something to it and make it sound less empty. Just a thought.
Snarky Puppy's Drummers? Y would they said that? no one from the band is even there... These musicians are to great to be exclusive to one sound obviously.
this is probably BY FAR the best drum video out..
Those things in the reflection are flamingos, not recording devices.
Haha
you made my day! but.. wait.. is it day or night? don't know.. have been at home for 2 weeks.. lol :D
I wonder which flamingo we are
ahahahaha
Lol. Once you’ve seen it.....
All monsters. Then Larnell is on a different planet.
This exactly
Drummers who sense of time is off the charts!!!

What an event to witness in person, the jealousy is real. Also, Sput really punished that floor tom at the end there lmao
Sput comes out with things you can't even imagine sometimes, good lord
One of the most enjoyable drum workshops I've seen on UA-cam for a long time.
Ashamed to say this as a drummer, but i was utterly lost lmao
Steven R 💀
Steven R That’s because everything they were playing was bullshit!!!!!
@@sticktrik Come again??????
@@sticktrik they actually played the song, it's the same duration
truthbtold Not at all they were staying in 4/4 the whole time with a polyrhythm of 5 over it you can hear the rhythm if youve heard the song before
That's actually Larnell Lewis, Jason "JT" Thomas, and Jamison Ross at the start
the fourth drummer is robert "sput" searight
Uy andito ka
@@arlydrums7060 the fourth was the first 😜 he played on a few first albums of snarky. Larnell replaced him on "we like it here"
Yep. These drummers are actual drummers that all played on various SP recordings. They’re top shelf drummers
I hereby declare this to be the single greatest drum video on UA-cam EVER :-O
Only saying this to share some more drum magic, but...my favourite is still Matt Garstska's playthrough of Inner Assassins. The first half is incredible. The second half...is impossible!
Sput,jt,larnell,and Jamison 💪💯🥁🥁🥁
That´s JT then Sput.
They're all so in the pocket.
Imagine being lucky enough to see a one of these dudes at a clinic.....
Love the musicianship! So refreshing these days, Hats off to these gentlemen and Best Regards!
This was fantastic. All great percussionists/drummers/musicians
SO MANY CELL PHONES RECORDING IN THE REFLECTION!!!!! HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD OF AIRDROP??? LOL
Not everyone is rich Daniel
something they want to treasure = more exposure as well
I've never once used AirDrop in my entire life
@@DaveYognaut me neither
Maybe they don’t know each other?
Doesn’t get much better that this. Love #Sput though
The Three Chopiteers
5:46 👀.......🔥
All those hands holding cellphones look like a bunch of flamingos
If one of them handed me the sticks I would probably have to use them to build a fire
my face literally melted off
Too much talent in one single place!
Half of a regular human being life invested on practicing and improving if we sum this 4 beasts
The ending though!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Eita pegaaaa toop lembra-se bateras unidos jamais serão vencidos 🥁👍
Awesome Awesome, did I say Awesome! #Luv drums.
Hold your smartphones in the air like you just don't care.
That was insane.
Larnell is uncatchable
PURE JOY
Larnell Lewis!!!!!

I thought JT straight up BROKE the mic stand 😂
What Yamaha kit is the black one? Looks lit
I need it
Fa y'all blind ones on here sput is in the red shirt dang
I thought he was a pianist😭😭😭😭lorddddd
This is crazy. Heck, throw in Eric Moore into this mix.
I don’t know, Polygondwanaland was a pretty complex album, but Eric might not be able to do this. Maybe Cavs
@@lukeharms3712 In my opinion, eric is only speed. Speed is awesome but i dont think it has a place here
I don’t think we are talking about the same Eric Moore
First person I thought about when I saw this
That boy Larnell is a whole problem! All great drummers!
Wow this was so cool !!!
What wizardry is this?
The Black Man Group.
I only see 1 black man and 2 mixed guys.
@@DarkBoy7410 If you wanna be like that. I only see 1 dark brown man; one lighter brown man and two slightly lighter brown men. Joke stands bruv.
@Anya Wale talking about the drummers, which is exactly what the video is about 🤦♂️
JT!
The crowd in the background shooting video on their phones vertically (a.k.a. PROPERLY) because jazz lovers know better. Ha!
That was Dope
Insane
Anyone know what hi hats Jamison has?
Sabian 22' dry hats i think
Burnin
DAMN!
🔥🔥🔥
Beaut beaut
Sput put all these guys in the loop with snarky puppy nough said ....
🧐 Ummm… you may wanna say a lot more as that statement isn’t true at all🤷🏽♂️😁
JT
I think Michael probably hit them all up when they were all busy with their own recording projects. Now we have a great selection.
@@j.cordero6965 Yup 3 years later but League was indeed the brains behind it
yessir!!!
Jamison Ross
YESSSSSSSSS
This is bananas
Interesting that they're all playing Yamahas...
JT, Jamison, and Larnell all endorse Yamaha Drums. They use a Live Custom Hybrid Oak on tour
Call me a philistine, but I'm having trouble keeping track of the downbeat. Can anyone help me out with this? I've listen plenty to the original recording and can intuatively follow that, but I struggle without the instrument parts

Funny how they all play Yamaha

Maybe:
Guitars
Bass
Keys
Horn Section
Percussion
Synths
MAY...be able to add something to it and make it sound less empty. Just a thought.
Simon Mitchell go listen to the original song. Then come back here and realize the magic that these guys created
🤣🤣

This is far too much math.
not math, just rhythm and syncopation.
White people trying to dance to the beat 🤣🤣
bravi ma io preferisco un altro trio Steve Gadd Dave Weckl Vinnie Colaiuta
