that the guy?
Aaron! Yes!!!
Can't believe how this song became 'Two Shrimps'. Love this version too. Wish there was a audio version of this though!
Shoutout to the secondary percussion guy whose job was to keep up with JD Beck, lmao
That is Nate Werth from Snarky Puppy (and Ghost-Note) ... so ... think he had it in the bag. Fantastic stuff all round.
Lol yeah man, that dude has to keep up with Larnell Lewis.
That’s who I call the Sound Man from Snarky Puppy, I always love it when he comes in and does crazy shit
@@matthewswift3347 Super underappreciated drummer in his own right! Great compliment to JD on this one
probably the most tasteful percussionist in the world
He just combed his hair when he finished, what a style.
I don't know how many times I've replayed this video from 5:38 and I want to show it to everybody but most of the people I know do not understand this type of music
What’s this type of music? Like fusion jazz/acid jazz?
@@hastybananas1251 it sounds like fusion jazz and funk, but I'm not entirely sure.
With a drum and bass twist?
the first fill had me in tears no cap
it's like he decided mid riff to pack up and head home
@@TimYocraft crazy i had the same thing happen to me, never heard something so good in a long time .
That synth solo from the queen, ugh, gets me every time.
Who’s she?!
@@mbuby7 Domi
Beck is something else man. i’m not even a drummer bruh
Word. Same here :)
yea The Golden Age is amazing
@@bipbong2906 the roaring (20)20s
Hes even more amazing if you are a drummer
He will need a new spine soon. Posture is horrible
Huge props to the percussionist who’s keeping pace with JD’s ridiculous speed without stealing ANY of the limelight
5:30 that little bit is the type of music that makes music worth persueing. EVERYONE in that band was so locked in to what they were doing. JD is kind of the star of the show, but it feels like the whole song was leading up to that little riff Domi did before the drum solo. And everyone in that room sounds incredible.
I like this take
I really like this video... seeing every musician on point just grooving brings a smile to my face. Im 16 years old and I find that ppl my age don't really appreciate music like this when it's just so versatile. But seeing that little kid made me so happy!!!
6:18 When the drumming is so good that you convert into the Impossibru meme from 2011
haha, best comment
brooooo hahahahaa
lmaoooooo
Bruh! Lmao
JD Beck, DOMi, and mononeon? in the same room?? now all you need is like noname and jacob collier and you have a whole albums worth of material ready in a day
Yo JD Domi and mono have played live together a bunch if you wanna hear more, and he's gonna be playing some bass on their record!
pass on mononeon. He'd be fucking slapping the bass during a noname verse lol
Brian Cultice just imagined that shit 💀
Haha I imagined Shaun Martin and Larnell Lewis showing up just to jam.
Jrome Gaming actually jd DOMi and mononeon did perform together a couple times
the solo tho. domi is insane🔥🔥
The first time I ever saw/heard her play was when she was jamming with Louis Cole a few years ago. I've been following her ever since and she just keeps getting better and better.
honestly feel like that was the gnarliest part, shit was crazy
gustafsone same. Then I saw her with JD and I was like yes! Such an amazing duo!
This makes me smile for multiple reasons. The musicianship is obviously off the charts, but there's also Domi's goofy sound FX, the looks of awe and delight from the audience, the camera person wisely cutting to Mono numerous times, the bass-playing boy (whose name i forget) who is clearly loving and soaking up the incredible music he's hearing, and JD making sure to brush his hair right after he's done playing 😀.
So many smiles. 😊
I love the work the engineers did on this to bring the fantastic musicians to life. So rich and deep!
These drums sound so good it took me several listens to realize Domi is quoting the lingus solo at 5:27
Have you seen her sight-reading the Cory solo in real time on a crappy old upright? It's on UA-cam
I just realized the percusionist is also the percusionist of snarky puppy
@@valentinasanchez5757 yep Nate Werth. And Sput Searight to boot. Both Ghost Notes and Snarky Puppy are about as high-caliber as you can get, both individually and as a group.
@@spdcrzy nate werth is the only percussionist with the ability that he has to compliment these drummers
Nice, catchy 4 bar riff to improv on. Then the whole sound scape changes when DOMI comes in for her solo and takes it to a whole new musical level. Fantastic talents.
I have watched this 10 times now probably. now watching it again and again and again.....
I had almost the same face as the young boy at 3:33 - music truly delivers emotions, sometimes even similar ones to different persons :-D
Thats AronTheBassist- hes like 9 and already an absolutely KILLIN player
@@stenduginski2306 yeah that dude is insane
Go search for Aron right away

The crowd look like they're drumming that stuff
I think that was my favorite part of the video, just all the faces from the crowd
I love it. Usually the crowd looks like they have a stick shoved up their ass
We all are bro
Hahahaha
3:33 Aaron when the bass does that snazzy lick is just golden
5:42 onwards is such a flex. The horn section + bass comes in perfectly every time.
Hey, Zildjian decision makers! Let's get this and the other tracks and publish a limited edition set on CD and digital download your listeners can buy! These sets are the best thing on UA-cam.
Buy a raw cd,download this and burn it.
Release on vinyl
You know this song is gonna be good when you see Snoop Dog on the Bass
Yes, apparently they are both left handed
BAHAAAAA! YES!
you've never heard of mononeon??????
That’s MonoNeon fucking idiot
@@christiansheppard9371 was that necessary?
This is how you know a piece of music or great food is next level: the stank face and the “noooo” head shake. Like, “This is too good. I can’t process this all at once, let me get my breath!” . The little boy and a couple of other guys had it. So good.
Crazy, he has an undeniable ability to sound like an entire percussion section
I love how his play style is so rich that the drums are always the most prominent and all the other instruments are accompaniment. It’s refreshing
Ahh little homie Aron is the crowd. That kid is already a beast. Cant wait to see what happens in 10 years.
Yeah I thought that was him then I saw that little stank face and knew it was him for sure lol...my favorite bassist hands down! He’s gonna be so dope when he gets older!
Nothing is gonna happen
Magic touch why u say that hater?
@@deelang6345 not a hater at all .but if he's a beast at such a young age then he's not gonna get much better.
Magic touch you may be right...but I still see a little room for improvement for him..you never know though...🤷🏾♂️

Wheeeeeewww!! I am emotionally overwhelmed here! I'm in tears in musical ecstasy! Damn! Zildjian! Please give him anything he wants! Please?!
why cant we get all of these audio files on spotify :(
I know right. It's a shame.
He is an absolute legend and to top it off humble, I love JD! and you cant forget DOMi !!!
JD Beck is the future of jazz drumming. I can't wait to see him become widely known someday.
Very soon we're gonna have zildjian JD Beck signature shampoo.
DOMi always playing the horn audio at random moments
I don’t have a keen ear for drums or some deep appreciation for the art, but I can’t stop listening to this kid rock. The skill and sound fusion is just mesmerizing
Kid Rock is a national treasure
this sounds like every japanese fighting video game's "select your character" screen
oh my gosh... laughing very high in here... LOL
Amen.

nastiest percussionist out there!
This is DOPE AS HeLL! I'm so proud of these two kids and I'm very happy to see that they've consistently grouped with other high quality musicians. I'm hopeful that they can help steer what the young audience listens to these days in the right direction!
That snare is everything
Holy shyt!
