it would be really nice if we were genetically engineered in such a way that sleeping isn't essencial but still possible. I would sleep indefinetely when bored and spend weeks in a roll without sleeping. It might just be a utopia.
It would really be a challenge, because sleeping is the way our brains "clean up" from the experiences of the day, forgetting the useless stuff, literally cleaning up toxic materials that build up with time, making room for new memories, etc. It would be really hard to accomplish but, with futuristic technology, who says it's not possible?
This is totally sci-fi but if we had machines small enough to enter the body and perform tasks, and we understood the function of sleep well enough, I do think it would be possible to use little machines to do the "cleaning up" and consolidating of memories and all that while awake. An insane level of challenge, though.

We have to know the local gravity and atmospheric pressure (I.e. air resistance) of the studio in which _WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEL of Future History_ is filmed in order to find out how quickly it stops. If by Rudyard Kipling reference: shows up Me: *POINTING AGGRESSIVELY AND REMEMBERING THAT I HAD TO DO AN ESSAY ON THAT RECENTLY AND GETTING THE REFERENCE*
That would be the public side of it. Privately? I would guess in a utopia, people would get to party _Hard_ on a fairly frequent basis. Meaning: Never mind the "free cake and dogs", lots of people would "attend" augmented or virtual-reality raves where you get to be _blasted_ with extra-dimensional spaces, music in chords and beats that shouldn't exist; get stoned out of your mind for "weeks" in cerebral time. . . And then the chips in your brain take the 8 hours to bring you back to standard reality. You spend the rest of your day curled up in a ball in your PJs, under a blanket, while an A. I. or robot companion, or maybe an actual real-life, face-to-face friend, pats you on the head while you make hung-over noises. That's your one day of party and rest, and then the other 6 days of the week (at least on Earth) you go back to being normal and a good citizen.
antsolja Actually no, if anything we've only barely touched the eco dystopia but are touching the utopia of everything else and eco can be easily reversed once technology advances enough, 2100~ will be the maximum amount of time it takes to control all the elements, assuming nothing catastrophic happens. I mean hell look at the 1917 compared to now, no phones, no computers, cars were a relatively new thing for the past 2 decades, America wasn't anywhere near a World Superpower status, no internet, we barely knew anything about the weather, no venturing into space, no plan to colonize mars in a decade, no microwaves(?). Yet look at today, 100 years after 1917 we have everything I said and far more, and due to technology advancing at an exponential rate it'll be a far larger difference in 100 years, hell, by 2117 there will probably be cities on Mars, fully immersive VR, commercial space ships, plans to colonize Venus, yeah Venus that planet that's basically impossible to touch the surface without dying instantly, a asteroid mining rush like the gold rush, and the oil rush, no Trump ( The best part ), far higher life expectancy ( Like 150~ years ), Nanomachines, CRISPR, genetically modified super humans basically, hell I could list like 20 more things.
The poem at the end is based on "If" by Rudyard Kipling. It is by far one of my favoite poems. Hearing it about human kind was emotianal to me. This was a beatiful video, I loved it.
I had no idea you were a stoic, personally loved Kipling's works, and your rewriting of it just further propels the proper stoicism we need. An honest and sincere thank you.

And then eat us.

This... This is what deserves to be pinned...
I think that was the greatest exurb1a video ever.
GriffinTheGriffin - its very close with "Continue to next level?"
Or, "and then we'll be happy"

Inquisitor Thomas we really fucked up using them all up as mecha pilots, but at least they left us with some incredible memes to remember them by.
How come this is the first time if heard of this person??!?!?!?!? It is inexcusable!!!! These videos are amazing!!!!
anakin148 exactly the same thought I had like 2 or 3 years ago

Or the person who's simulation we're living in just turns his computer off
mmarlaire maybe we're like a bios running on a cmos battery and nobody bothered to remove the battery and never will until it runs out of juice.
I bet we're a garbage mobile game that an alien is playing while taking a cosmic shit.
Yeah we're probs a creativity & entertainment simulator for the hyper-humans one simulation layer up (simulation layer 67899001)
Would not be worse than a ww3 or sth
Ealdy Mobile Legends Bang Bang
Of course, the perfect utopia involves constant Gershwin playing all the time.
Glad someone else noticed :)
It probably does.
i think we somehow landed on every single dystopia on the wheel at the same time...
welp glad voluntary death is still allowed
antsolja I think we have landed on all of them, just on a more smaller scale than what he had described, but it depends on how we deal with it.
Voluntary death is the cowards way out. Watch the whole movie pussies!
but the movie is scary
i dont like government jews watching me fap with advanced ai and forcing me to work like a slave
antsolja No we didn't. None of the things happening right now are bad enough to say that we've reached one of the dystopias in the video.
antsolja Actually no, if anything we've only barely touched the eco dystopia but are touching the utopia of everything else and eco can be easily reversed once technology advances enough, 2100~ will be the maximum amount of time it takes to control all the elements, assuming nothing catastrophic happens.
We're already in a technological utopia! Look at what we have!

I had no idea you were a stoic, personally loved Kipling's works, and your rewriting of it just further propels the proper stoicism we need. An honest and sincere thank you.
Yep. Stoicism's the only way.
But... But... What did it land on?
If you wait a long time, and maybe help out a bit, you'll find out.

His tone of voice as-well as the music changed to be more somber as soon as he started talking about the dystopian possibilities , a true artist
Is no one going to mention If by Rudyard Kipling and Do not go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas?

Edit: Finished watching. Not disappointed.
you forgot the most important and best ending of all... infinite cakes and dogs
edit: I had to watch again to understand why I said that, now that I've watched it... I can safely say an ℵ0 of cakes and dogs would be better unless it's too much, but I cant tell.
And stuff
The cake is a lie.
Come on now; Cake or Death? Oh I don't know Death, ah no I meant Cake!
You said Death. But I really meant Cake!
That would be our best universe. *edit, excuse me after commenting after a drink or five. Best timeline, rather
