I love T-Mac so much. The only person I ever looked up to as a kid athlete or not. I get so upset when people try to discredit him. What people forget is as great as he was he played even better in the playoffs. Look at his playoff numbers from 2001-2008. LEGENDARY! Too bad injuries and LACK OF QUALITY HELP(Besides Yao who was injury prone as well) kept him from succeeding in the playoffs. He is a Hall of Famer and Legend that was just unlucky. Nobody can say he didn't put in the work and put up the numbers!!!! T-MAC WE LOVE YOU!!!!! BRIGHTEST SPOT OF MY CHILDHOOD

Man, I remember buying all the T-Mac shoes back in the day! He was my favorite player growing up and I played basketball because of him and used some of his moves while playing. Breathtaking tribute. T-Mac was a big part of my childhood and this video almost had me tearing up, no joke. Amazing talent and never fulfilled potential, thinking about what he might have been just makes me sad. Contrary to popular belief it was not his injuries that prevented him from absolute greatness, it was his character, his drive and I hate to say this but luck was also a big part of his demise.
Takes a 3-1 lead vs would-be-champions-next-year Pistons in 2003, the year they changed the first round format from best-of-5 to best-of-7. Drew freaking Gooden was their second best player that year. Wins the first 2 games vs Mavs on the road in 2005 and loses the next 3 games by total of 11 points. And later in 2008 Tim Donaghy reveals that particular series was rigged. Was expected to win in 2007 vs Jazz, and had game 7 at home only to see Yao Ming grabbing 6 rebounds vs Carlos Boozer's 14. That was the year Warriors upset the Mavs and the West was wide open. There are many examples like these.
But ultimately he just didn't want it enough. He just never had that factor, that extra something which sets the greats apart from the others. Yes he was unlucky but if you want it enough you can make your own luck. Did you know that he missed 11 of his last 12 shots and 9 free throws in his 62 point game? Mind boggling. So much potential, so much wasted talent.

Once Kobe, Garnett & Pierce Retire. We will say goodbye to one of the greatest Eras in sports history. The great players that have played the game over the last 15 years.
I don't think we will have another era like this any time soon.
Nowadays kids are great yes, but I would prefer to watch Basketball from Kobe, Garnett, Pierce, Iverson, McGrady all in their primes.

If only Tracy and Yao had been healthy together. Once Yao got his confidence and became really good, they both were never healthy at the same time for any lengthy period and never during the playoffs. Houston would have gone to the finals and most likely would have gotten at least one championship if not for the alternating health problems with both of those guys. Man what could have been. During the few short periods they were both healthy together Houston was a true championship caliber team that would have been difficult for anyone.

Tracy McGrady is one of the best players when it comes to offence but he is one of the most unlucky. He goes to Orlando Magic to play with star Grant Hill but Hill gets injured. He then goes to Rockets to have Yao Ming getting injured. And in the start of the 08' season where he is expected to get in his best year (30) he gets injured in the knee and his career is over.

+Tracy McGrady that's not all tho, he played the 2001-2002 playoffs, Destroyed his playoff run with backspasms, 2002-2004 backspasms again. 2004-2005 knee problems start, back issues that year aswell. 2005-2006 whole year ruined by constant back spasms. 2006-2007 Played most of the year with a injuried shoulder/back/knee. Played with injuried knee/back/shoulders in the playoffs had to remove liquid filling in his knee and shoulder also having to put bandage on his knee and shoulder before every game in the playoffs. 2007-2008 Knee ruins his whole season. this was also the year where he had the best team he has ever had.
