You could honestly listen to Kobe talk basketball ALL DAY. Simply brilliant & beyond eloquent. It's beyond me how people never mention him in the list of the greatest minds to ever play the game. He's probably watched and studied more tape than any player in the history of this league.
love their dynamic. what I love about Kobe is even though he respected all these guys, he never showed it until after he retired. On the court he wanted to kill everyone on the other team. Truly a great competitor.
Nobody showed respect on the court lol. You know how many fights, dead mom jokes, kid jokes, basketball jokes were thrown around on the court back then
Kobe was spot on with Harden "he'll never win a championship with that style of play". And he was speaking from personal experience. When he was young he tried to do it all and kept coming up short, but it wasn't until he embraced his dynamic with Shaq that the titles started coming in He also predicted correctly how Lebron could still continue playing for years to come. Brilliant basketball mind
As a diehard TMac fan when I was younger, I disliked Kobe. But then as years went by, I couldn’t help but to respect him and acknowledge him as one of the greatest who ever played. It is so hard to believe that he passed away in this fashion, before he even made the hall of fame. May Kobe and his daughter GiGi Rest In Peace. I shall be forever inspired by his Mamba mentality.
I feel the same way bro. I loved TMac as a youngn & hated Kobe b/c he was his rival more than anyone else. I always respected his game no matter how much I didn't like him but as he showed more of his personality the older he got I began to like him too to the point where I was rooting for him his last couple seasons & was pissed when they let him play 40 + min a game & he tore his Achilles b/c I knew he'd never be our Mamba again. Being from philly with him & his daughter dying like that has the whole city feeling empty
I wouldn't say I hated Kobe but I was like naw Tmac better. I was a Grant Hill fan more than anything I saw a few games were Tmac played in his rookie and sophomore season and said this dude is going to be problem if he gets to shine. Them both landing in Orlando and Grant being out I was like time for the Tmac show and he did not disappoint.
Same with me. I completely agree. I used to root against Kobe and love making Kobe jokes with my friends but I couldn't help but respect him as his career progressed because he worked so hard and earned his success. I even cried at his retirement so this is like a million times harder. Also keeping the other victim's family in my prayers.
G Mass because he’s been there, he’s seen that absolutely dominating the ball doesn’t win championships whilst deferring more to your teammates puts the team in a much better position if they’re good enough
James Harden is an average basketball player, AT BEST, who, occasionally, happens to get lucky, and an absolutely horrible team mate. the Rockets will NEVER win it all as long as Hardens playin for em’... no matter who they put around em’.
I definitely think VC is on top when it comes to dunking, but I really think Kobe's biggest weakness in dunking was his hand size. MJ, Tmac, Vince all have bigger hands that can palm the ball like glue is on there. Steve Francis was also a perfect example of this. I'm glad this interview came out. T Mac deserves more respect than he's given. In ESPN videos that include him talking, I see loads of kids talking like Tracy was a scrub. These kids need to realize that T Mac was on the path to being a top 5 player of all time prior to injury, and that's not an exaggeration
I can totally see him making top 10, especially if the Orlando team he was on worked out with Grant Hill and Tim Duncan and all, but top 5 you're facing some stout competition. I ain't gonna front, I never watched him play, but I struggle to see how he could hang with the likes of MJ, LeBron, Kareem, Wilt, Magic, and of course Kobe.
@@fazebooquifius3186 There's a reason Kobe says T Mac is the toughest player he played against, he was on another level. I can see where you're coming from, but I definitely urge you to watch some T Mac highlights since you haven't seen him play. If he didn't get injured, I 100% believe he would've developed into a player that could hang with the guys you mentioned. My reasoning behind that thought process is that T Mac was destroying teams as a young player, and he was still getting better at an exponential rate when he got injured. A similar case could be made for Brandon Roy, but he got injured earlier in his career so we didn't see as much of him as we did with T Mac
@@RyGuy1127 Honestly I don't think there's much point arguing this. I think we can both agree that it was a huge shame he got injured either way. I do agree that there isn't enough respect on his name, especially amongst casual NBA fans. Also I love him for that one around the back shimmy post fade highlight floating around, that shit looks dope.
@@fazebooquifius3186 True. I didn't mean for it to come across as arguing, but I get how it would've been interpreted that way. I hope they start showing more T Mac highlights at some point, I hate seeing him get disrespected when he's talking on ESPN now days
@@joharys14 thanks my dude. Just made perfect sense if u look at their personalities and court skills. And the Ryu/Ken connection works cuz they are more like brothers, trained together.
I seriously think they would have been better than Mike and Pippen. And I'm a bulls diehard. Playing with each other would have extended both of their careers
@@leroyrodgers6089 Stupidest thing I ever heard. Tmac was not a good defender and Scottie Pippen is arguably one of the best defenders of all time. Tmac and Kobe were not efficient, those Spurs teams would have killed them.
@@KA-js4ll dude just chill, we dont know how they would have been. The only reason they were not as efficient is because A. Jordan is the Goat. And B. Defenses were smothering back then. Today TMAC and Kobe in their primes would avg 48% not 44. But yes I did go overboard slightly I know how great Pippen was. I still think they would have been a top 5 duo. At least top 10.
Aftab Ali Jordan never played zone defense in his career. And the mid 2000s were the toughest era to score in. Don’t even get started with today’s era 34 year old Kobe averaged 27ppg 6rpg 6apg while shooting 46% during the 2012-2013. It’s crazy how they even compare Kobe’s ‘06 FT attempts to Harden’s, since it’s a two different worlds.
This really was a great interview. Had me smiling throughout. You can tell that they had immense respect for each other despite the fact that they were opponents. Sportsmanship like this is hard to come by these days. Hats off to these men.
As fierce opponents you get genuine sportsmanship. Now I don’t hate it but, it seem like everyone now is obligated to show sportsmanship. It’s not as genuine
I agree. Listen how he explain the way LeBron should played or Harden. He is specific it is like you can draw that play and predict what other players will do. Awesome
And a pretty big wingspan advantage too. T-Mac was absurd to watch, seriously. Damned injuries got the best of him far too early but at his prime he was a nonstop show.
Thing was Kobe was way more durable than Mcgrady. Kobe’s intensity was on another level. But skill wise there’s really no difference and in fact T-Mac was a better athlete. But injuries, situations and a few intangibles is what separates Kobe from Mcgrady
Kobe IQ of the game on point! You heard him say James harden would not win. A championship with his style of play!!.. and look what happened Houston lost in game 6 AT HOME!!
It’s bittersweet to see how well Kobe & T Mac’s personalities mesh & the chemistry these two legends have because you know they would’ve been good friends til they were old men
He couldnt play the game that he loves, all the moves, joy n pride winning championship, passing defenders n scoring. Watching the game wouldnt cut it. So yea good for him to find other love.
Such a dads at a cookout or barbershop interview lol. Rest easy Kobe and Gianna Bryant, John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan.
Man kobe is a phenomena in every aspect of the word. So cool talk and fine persona when he speaks he captivates you and you can tell how smart and special this guy is and speaking 5 fluent languages. This is the contender of MJ no doubt
@TheRealist 811 I agree, except, 2016 dunk contest was actually better than MJ vs Dominique in almost every aspect. Go watch it again. MJ and Dominique would've been eliminated in first round if they were doing those dunks in 2016.
Never realize i need this two so much in my life. Friendship and chemistry between these dudes are off the charts To my youth i thanks to you i can watch two of the best SG growing up And.......PLEASE GIVE THEM A SHOW I CAN WATCH THEM TALKING ALL DAY
You know the respect is real between these two. I feel happy that I was able to watch these guys during their prime and end of their careers. Kobe is hard nosed as hell and he has no problem disrespecting anyone he sees that didn't work hard on their game.... and here he is complimenting another legend who was his clone on the offensive end. Respect is earned!
I miss Kobe so much. It's devastating to Even think he's gone. He was my favourite, growing up, and as I grew, seeing him mature from the dynamite teenager, to the legendary playmaker he went on to become, my respect only grew. Buzzer beaters, killer plays, 81 points, comeback from a Achilles tear, the man is basically unbelievable. He was my inspiration on the court, like no one else ever was. I even had number 8 on my jersey, as a player on my high school team. It's just beyond words how much he meant to us. Kobe. The best in my books, then, now and always. Rest in peace, my hero.
Two of my favorite players of all time, this was an absolute blast to listen to. I'm biased given that it's the era I fell in love with basketball in, but the late 90's/early 2000's with Kobe, T-Mac, Shaq, AI, Carter, KG, Ray Allen, etc all in their prime was so much fun and will always be my favorite.
Tracy McGrady was so good bruh, but his back spasms would always show up and derail him thru out his career. Plus, Tracy never had a collection of brothers ready to ride with him for a title run.
I can't watch this man Kobe no way I still can't believe you are gone. Hoping you are still here nit because of you being a great player but because of who you are as a person. TMAC you are truly one of the greatest period injure or no injure.
It’s so terrible how went out, but Kobe seemed to really be at peace and I love who he became up to the point before he left us. This is hard. Poor T Mac. He was so sad 😢

Rest in Paradise my brother . Thank u for everything . We are Greatful . U are missed dearly . One Love . 🏀💔😔
Eeman and A'mal is the only way to succeed
They remind me of Ken and Ryu from street fighter. Same moves, slight differences
Great analogy.
I would say Kobe is Ryu, more disciplined, mature, instinctual. TMac is Ken more raw talent/power, edgier.
Can they also be compared to Goku vs. Vegeta?
Think 1st battle, *SAIYAN SAGA*
Jordan is Akuma.
@@leonardobraynen1524 I agree with your analysis of Kobe being Ryu and T-mac being Ken.
@@joharys14 thanks my dude.
Just made perfect sense if u look at their personalities and court skills. And the Ryu/Ken connection works cuz they are more like brothers, trained together.
That would’ve been a Top 5 all time duo I believe
Time to try it out in 2k. XD
Tracy really loved him and looked up to him. Their bromance is dope to watch ♥️
Plus the game was different back in the day salute to these two
“Nope I was not gonna have Vince Carter beat me” lol
But kobe heart know that Vince already beat him ego issue
But Kobe can’t dunk as aesthetic as vince
Still can't have a ring
“Heroes come and go, but legends live on forever”. 💔
Kobe's logic is straight Gold!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree. Listen how he explain the way LeBron should played or Harden. He is specific it is like you can draw that play and predict what other players will do. Awesome
he can do everything I can do, "but he's taller." .....
And a pretty big wingspan advantage too. T-Mac was absurd to watch, seriously. Damned injuries got the best of him far too early but at his prime he was a nonstop show.
T Mac was much better going left than Kobe
@@ramjb People forget about T Mac. Dude was probably the most gifted offensive player of all time.
Kobe is greatest 2-way player in NBA history.
Thing was Kobe was way more durable than Mcgrady. Kobe’s intensity was on another level. But skill wise there’s really no difference and in fact T-Mac was a better athlete. But injuries, situations and a few intangibles is what separates Kobe from Mcgrady
Rest In Peace a legend
24 never dies
Kobe IQ of the game on point! You heard him say James harden would not win. A championship with his style of play!!.. and look what happened Houston lost in game 6 AT HOME!!
Abdullah Hardy houston chokes every crunch time it sucks honestly, its either they have the lead or theyll lose regardlessly
@@PlayfulCloud3 💯 all the way
Mat ter that’s not IQ smh
James Harden is a clown
and they're losing 4 straight now
Ok so now, get an interview with Tmac, Kobe, and Iverson. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
DGames facts all the ballers from the early 00s

Yes good idea. They can talk about 2001 finals. And Allen is very good in interviews. The top 3 guards of the 2000s
and Vince Carter :)
My 3 favorite players of all time I would die
Add VC and it be 🔥🔥🔥
It’s bittersweet to see how well Kobe & T Mac’s personalities mesh & the chemistry these two legends have because you know they would’ve been good friends til they were old men
We need an espn documentary on these two
The only documentary I would watch
We need Vince Carter and AI with Tmac and Kobe in another interview and make it last longer than 8 mins
This is what I grew up with. I don't want to win with them
I want to beat them. But looking back at it, I like a ring. 😆
And shaq, dayum man. Just make a movie with them just talking basketball. That's pure winnig knowledge for these up and coming youngsters.
TheRealist 811 Vinsanity prime was at Tmac Or Kobe level aswell. Best athlete of that era and one of the most lethal scorers aswell
Throw in Jesus Shuttlesworth. Those 5 had a decade run as the 5 best SGs
I'm not crying you're crying 😭 rest easy mamba 💛💜
Kobe dropped the people elbow on tmac back 😂😂😂
More of Dusty Rhodes elbow😆
"He gonna be fine when I hit 'em in that mothaf**ka?!"
Kobe knew Tmac was going to embarrass him that day...he had to do something
😭😭😭
That was the best. Something I certainly did to my friends.
tracy saying "the love is gone" really broke me
Kobe didn't feel dat
@@MrMikelew2929 because None said the love was gone as well.
his body couldnt take it anymore. he was never healthy, that body failed him.
He couldnt play the game that he loves, all the moves, joy n pride winning championship, passing defenders n scoring. Watching the game wouldnt cut it. So yea good for him to find other love.
Yea I didn't like that...tmac a goat
Those guys at their prime, never thought of teaming up. Such a privilege to watch them do what they got to do.
Kobe said Harden will never win a championship with that system. WHO IS HERE AFTER HOUSTON WAS ELIMINATED BY KD-less WARRIORS?
Lol he wasn't lying lol
😅😅
Career isn’t over son. 🤣
Kobe always tells the truth
Me
I love to see brothers bigging each other up opposed to knocking each other down. We need more of this
His take on Harden was spot on..Kobe would have made a great coach 💯
"....I HAD TO TEST THAT BACK OUT...."

Pause
Right big ass pause 😂😂😂😂 But that was some Bad Boyz back in the 80's bs kobe bull 😂😂😂 low down move kobe LOL
Starkiller1036 😂
He didn’t diss Harden like the media would make you believe
Media always lying about something. Surprised they didn’t try to throw trump under the bus somehow too
He's actually dissing D'Antoni's system. He played that system and he thinks it's shit.
@@kobedoesntneedabig3832 Dantoni is doing something different with the rockets tho. It's not the same system.
This is probably my favorite Kobe interview because he's chatting and reminiscing with an old friend. It's beautiful.
Kobe and MJ are 2 guys that have countless stories about their work ethic... that's why they are so closely related! 💯
T mac × Kobe
That's 4 ring atleast
8😤
Y'all dumbfuck kids only think about teaming up. Chemistry wins you championships not STARS
@@jqa16 they obviously have great chemistry.
@@jqa16 what nba champion had no stars on the floor?
Chase Cartwr Jordan won a ring win no allstars
Such a dads at a cookout or barbershop interview lol.
Rest easy Kobe and Gianna Bryant, John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan.
Man kobe is a phenomena in every aspect of the word. So cool talk and fine persona when he speaks he captivates you and you can tell how smart and special this guy is and speaking 5 fluent languages. This is the contender of MJ no doubt
7:30 Kobe: “Have you seen the dunk contest these last few years”😂😂
@TheRealist 811 I agree, except, 2016 dunk contest was actually better than MJ vs Dominique in almost every aspect.
Go watch it again. MJ and Dominique would've been eliminated in first round if they were doing those dunks in 2016.
Kobe must be watched all of those dunks to make that comment hahah
Vince Carter in his prime would have even had a real hard time with Lavine and Gordon. Those two are freaks and have been since their highschool days.
This interview holds so much value. Kobe's take on AD situation, his view on James Harden and Championships. This is awesome...
I absolutely love this interview. 2 great basketball players of all time. Kobe was a loud killer,Mcgrady was a silent killer!
T-Mac: "Now you tryna tear his Achilles"
😂😂😂
Right lol I’m stretching right now
Rest easy Legend you changed my life we Philly Strong and I’ll always have that mamba mentality
"I will enter the things that I know I can win" 😎
Best line right there
Words of wisdom, love you Kobe... miss you everyday
Never realize i need this two so much in my life.
Friendship and chemistry between these dudes are off the charts
To my youth i thanks to you i can watch two of the best SG growing up
And.......PLEASE GIVE THEM A SHOW I CAN WATCH THEM TALKING ALL DAY
Miss you Kobe
You know the respect is real between these two. I feel happy that I was able to watch these guys during their prime and end of their careers. Kobe is hard nosed as hell and he has no problem disrespecting anyone he sees that didn't work hard on their game.... and here he is complimenting another legend who was his clone on the offensive end. Respect is earned!
Not his clone at all
Kobe & TMac would’ve been UNSTOPPABLE! They would’ve made each other even GREATER pushing each other at practice
we talkin about practice, not the game, we talkin bout practice
Or they would've imploded because of their egos...
Jordan and Pippen 2.0
@@MozTheBoz they got 3 championships even with shaq's ego so I wouldn't worry
idk I feel like Kobe woulde pushed Tracy's body too far in practice remember the guy has scoliosis
Them 2 on the same team.... MY GOD. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Unstoppable 💯
TMac didn’t even want to be on teams with Vince he wasn’t going to tolerate Kobe for long
Roc ThaIce TMac wanted to be on his own but I know if he stayed with his cousin they would have a ring together
This interview is so heart warming ❤ You can tell they had a genuine and loving bond...its crazy he's gone
Man, you can tell they respect each other! Game recognize game
Tracy McGrady was so good bruh, but his back spasms would always show up and derail him thru out his career. Plus, Tracy never had a collection of brothers ready to ride with him for a title run.
Atleast he got his ring but it was in his last seasons with the Spurs
@@TopOpp59 ummm Tracy doesn’t have a ring sir lol. Trace Mcgrady last season was in 2013. Spurs won the title in 2014
@@TopOpp59 sorry buddy your wrong
I can't watch this man Kobe no way I still can't believe you are gone. Hoping you are still here nit because of you being a great player but because of who you are as a person. TMAC you are truly one of the greatest period injure or no injure.
I came here to witness friendship between two of the best to ever do it from my generation...honorable mention K.G....rest in peace Kobe!
These two is so fun to watch. Genuine laughter and chemistry.
It’s so terrible how went out, but Kobe seemed to really be at peace and I love who he became up to the point before he left us. This is hard. Poor T Mac. He was so sad 😢
You can tell these two have such immense respect for each other. Greatness knows greatness.
