      Yea he talks about everything but e want to know. Problem #1 my dog when e we are home is let out to relieve himself. If you want to know where he pees that would require someone to stand there for 40 minutes. Because if you know dogs they will urinate several times, I’m not asking for a silver bullet, I am asking for something I do not know. This video is worthless.

    We simply have a watering can and four landscape rocks painted blaze orange. We go out w our two 55 pound dogs and mark each spot w the rocks. We then retrace our steps flooding each spot with water, and picking the orange rocks back up. It works. We do this even in winter.

    Great video, but to prevent burn spots because of dog urine you can just pour water on the spots after the dog pees. For large dogs a 1/4 to half gallon of water per spot right after they urinate. Dog urine is mostly nitrogen so just diluting it with straight water will prevent burn marks from happening. Grass may be a little greener in those spots, but you won't get burn spots.

    Having your dog go out to relieve themselves on a leash is HUGE !!! It offers you the control to have them continually return to the same spot to limit where they can cause damage on the lawn. Having a bottle of water with you also works in case you don't want to use the RGS or Humic12 cocktail.

    When your dog go check out other peemails, you can spot treat those spots too! Humic Acid is a great neutralizer as it is like a buffer keeping the soil pH in a certain pH range. I supposed spreadking granular limes will do similar job for entire lawn but you'd have to spead more regularly to protect entire lawn. Great idea with Humic 12 and RGF.

    Here in MN, I have a hell of a time with KBG in full sun. My back yard is sloped sort of into the sun and gets exposed most of the day. It gets hammered and grows slow. My front yard is shaded by the house most of the day, till later afternoon into the evening. It grows like mad. The front needs two cuts plus a week. The back, one cut a week and usually only takes a bit of tip. I have messed with irrigation schedules and fert. Nothing seems to really kick the back yard off. It starts great in the spring. Thick and dark. By summer it thins out and hardly grows. Even with fert. On top of that I started getting what I think is bent grass in the yard. It is sort of lime green and is sort of like a mat rather than vertical bladed. Usually, I wait till fall and torch the sports. Then seed KBG in the spots.

    My problem in ND is after winter when the snow melts I am left with a backyard just like that in which I fix all those spots every spring. My dog doesn’t really cause spots during the summer probably because I water it all the time. I cannot really run a hose and water when it’s 20 below in January. I wish there was something I could do to stop having to fix 40 spots every spring.

    Bro. You talk about the midwest as being Illinois/Chicago up by 'der. Don't forget about us in Nebraska. We can go from 70 degrees with no humidity to 95 with 80% humidity over night. We can also go from 36 degrees to 75 at the snap of a finger. We are the true midwest and while we are not in the transition zone, I would challenge anybody to have a great lawn here in Nebraska. If you want to call me out in a video, my last name is pronounced "cow-k". Thanks bro and you are awesome! I'm lucky to follow your plan and have an amazing lawn! Cheers!

    To pass on to the dog owners something that I read on the LCN FB Group. There were a few suggestions and one was mentioned here to water the pee spot well after your dog pees on your lawn. Some other suggestions were to mix a half of a can of tomato juice into their food twuce per week. Another is to mix some ketchup into their food 2-3 times per week. Those commenters claim that no additional watering is necessary because the tomato juice and the ketchup in each case balances out the Ph effect of the dog's pee. Those suggestion seem easier and less expensive than the NExt concoction shown in this video. Also, one more suggestion was for a product called LawnSaver available at PetSmart and other pet stores. I hope this helps all the dog owners and dog lovers out there.

    You have to irrigate like crazy to get the bluegrass to survive. Also, in salt lake city our window for seeding in the fall is really really short for bluegrass germination. It's 90-100 degrees into September. A lot of the bluegrass I put down last fall came up in the spring. I'm finding that spring seeding is best here for that reason, but it takes work and you have to deal with weeds.

  • @MrTiger0002
    @MrTiger0002 3 роки тому

    Ahh. that's Poa Annua... I had that too... the seed falls when you pull. I don't have that this year I used Spectracide weed Pre-emergent granular control last year bought at HD. I didn't apply any this year as that stuff is strong. No weed this year so far. We pull them when they are tall... they grow faster than grass so if you skip a mowing, easy to pull them. I got an idea Allyn, use shop vac to suck the seeds first and then pull the Poa Annua out. Sounds tedious but considering what I observed... it's working so far. Lots of hints here. Good luck everyone. I see them in early spring in NJ.

    The dog park in Meridian Idaho Storey park has grass as well as pebbles. There are no burn spots ever .Yes been going for 8yrs all year round.Neither does the common area between the two Baseball fields next to the dog park. The grass is said to be a tall dwarf fescue ,may be some type of KBG not sure. We are trying to find what they use to keep the grass from buring from the urine. They do use a solid fertilizer, and water daily each area for at least 30-45 minutes. I was expecting you to show us something similar to prevent it , not something post urinating. Do you have any idea what they may be using?
    Thanks Gary

    Does that dog pee mix need to be watered in a certain amount of time or can I just just hit it in the mornings on my normal watering cycle? Our golden is a nightmare on the lawn....

      The Lawn Care Nut I wish I knew this, and I really should know it. I’m up here in the Pacific Northwest, just 30 minutes South of Seattle. Could be Fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, Ryegrass or blend of all. I really do need to learn this. Sorry I don’t know this off hand. Thx

    I need something that wii fix badly burnt spots by dogs. I live in western ND. I’ve tried reseeding, nothing seems to grow there. It’s spots where the dog pee all winter. If that makes sense. Great video. I spent a lot of years in Bozeman. The secret is out. Not many true Montanans left.

    As a German I have to help you pronounce the breed of the dog 'Why-maa-raa-ner' they're named after the town where they got bread.
