Before spreading seed, mix dish washing fluid with warm water and drench the area. This will dilute the ammonia.

Thanks Shaun that lawn looks very good considering it’s gone through the winter . I forgot to mention on the site I was on they insisted on the machine drivers to put down a fuel spillage, try when working on the machine and even with the petrol disc cutter, when filling up with petrol that i use on sites to stop contamination to the soil 👍🙏

Got a small square of artificial lawn and put on the gravel up the top of the garden and trained the dog to do it there . Took about a week. Now she wont even touch the lawn 😊

This was great, I was wondering why the seeds weren't germinating in this big pee spot, I'm going to go back and dig a little deeper... thank you! This video was great :)

Interesting, thank goodness SWMBO’s dog is a chihuahua. I’ve got a little bit of dog damage on the back lawn. I intend to grow some 3 inch deep trays of seed this year in order to cut the size I need rather than small pots.

Hi Shaun, I've been watching a lot of your videos to help teach me how to look after my lawn better as I've never had to before. Currently I've got a lawn about 30 m2 and covered in ants, moss and weeds and unfortunately it's got some shady bits to. I would appreciate your advice on the my current plan of action within the next few weeks:

Hello Shaun your Channel is the one I always come to for my Lawn so I have a Question, I live in Florida in the US and have St.Augustine grass, I'm not sure if you ever work on St.Augustine grass over in the UK but are there tips for that type of grass, It is humid and hot here constantly with some rain but not enough, so my Lawn gets very dry and can get patches from how hot and humid it is here. I have done a lot of research and watched videos on St.Augustine grass like mowing once a week, making sure to always mow at a high setting, I have been watering from 9 to 10am 3x a week with my 7000sq ft lawn front and back but certain areas still look yellow and dry to me, Ive only lived here for 2 months so I'm not sure how well the former neighbor treated this lawn but I am trying all I can to make it perfect. I was thinking of buying one of the manual Aerators in your descriptions to Aerate the yellow areas and the entire lawn itself. St.Augustine seems to just be a tougher grass to work with so any kind of advice would be so helpful. Love your videos Shaun NEVER STOP.

Wow, so thorough. Thanks Shaun. I had no idea there's that much work involved. I still have patches (big ones) from the scarifying I did last November. I've got my work cut out now! But one thing I would like to know. I still have some "cold start" grass seed which has been in the shed all winter. I know you said that frost can kill grass seed, but that's out in the open, in the ground. So what about the unused seeds left behind in the sack? Can low temperatures damage/kill seed if it's still in the packet in the shed? Sorry if this is a silly question.

Oh mate I wished you had made this video 10 years ago because I was suffering from the same issue. I bought a house and the previous owner has 2 dogs and my lawn was in a right mess. Did everything i could that made sense but didn't work. I don't plan on keeping a dog but I now know how to tackle the issue if I ever do get one :)

Hi Shaun great advice thanks, I also have dogs with similar issues. I also have a very green lawn unfortunately not because of lush grass but a covering of green algae. I get this every year regardless of the amount of aerating I do, and it’s back again this year. Is there any treatment or maintenance I need to do to get rid of this unwanted greenery. Thanks Mark.

Thanks Shaun. When you grow grass seeds in pots or seed trays to transplant into the lawn would you grow the seeds in top soil or compost? Thanks
