Dog rocks definitely work!..... However you can lead a dog to water but you can't make her drink!
@@MrDominic152 indeed! 👌
Do you thump dog with rock when she squats over grass ???
@@johnnyd9441 hahaha don't be throwing rocks at your dog 🐶
MrDominic152 is itty
Gave this a whirl 4 week ago and have just come back to say thank you as my lawn is absolutely perfect now sending the neighbours green with envy 😂😂👍✌🏻
Great to hear!
Mate, I’ve tried lots of different ways to sort my burnt grass and THIS WORKS! I’m obsessed with watching it grown !! THANK YOU ☺️
Happy to help Jack 👍😊
I was putting top soil down then seed and air rate to push down the seeds. Didn’t work. I like the way you mix it together then put down!!
It works really well
Love the idea of mixing the seeds in a bucket with the top soil, such common sense when you think about it ?
Yes, exactly
Yes, I just mixed seed with compost in a bowl to fill in gaps after my new patio was put in. It worked incredibly well. So well in fact i wish the rest of the lawn was that thick!
Thank you so much. I don't have a dog, looked after my daughter's and was letting her out late at night and she has wrecked my grass. Really appreciate this.
No problem 🙂 🐶🐕
The family came up for a socially distanced lunch in the garden last week...first time in 3 months. They brought their dog, I watched it piddle on the lawn. I should have diluted immediately but now I have a brown patch. This is just what it need. Thx
Glad to help ❤
Thanks for that Robbie. Iv few patchs iv to get after.
And i dont know what people are sayin. U have great voice. I understand every word.
Hi Gerald, I tend to get a lot of folks that can't understand my Belfast accent and they are always happy to tell me 🙈
Sometimes you over think these simple solutions... brilliant video
Thanks Paul
Simple, concise and excellent advise as always.
Great tips for repairs... An even quicker repair is to buy a section of turf for around £5 and use it as a repair to cut out and replace with new... instant repair 👌👌
I've been staring at those brown patches in my lawn for weeks wondering what to do, Cheers Premier Lawns!!😁
Excellent stuff 👍❤
I've some light brown patches on my lawn but they cover a much bigger area maybe 2sq meters what could be causing this? I water the garden regularly and the rest of the lawn is good.
@@tommydshelby5311 Might be army worms
Great - Thank you for the useful video. Will try this out and rid my lawn of un-sightly burnt patches. Thank you.
Nice to have someone who I can understand for once. Keep it up and thanks lad.
thanks very much. very good this. I have exactly this problem, and am going to sort it this afternoon. very good 👍
Very good 🙂☺️
HUGE problem solver! Thanks from USA Walla Walla, Washington!
Great video as always, dog pee patches are now all gone in my lawn👍
Hi Andrew, great to hear. Thanks for the update ❤
Thank you for your expertise Rob 👍🏻
Happy to help 😁
good to see the "after" results. I tend to grow a plant pot of grass and cut around the burn and replace with a section from the plant pot of fully grown grass. works well.
Great tip.
The key to success is to make sure you break up the soil where the burn is.
Sm hi love your idea I am bringing that one home to America 👍👍👍 thanks
I watched a lot of these videos and I liked this one the best, Robbie. I have a lawn that got pretty banged up this past summer. Its got a lot of patches in it where the grass has been totally burned away... raw spots. I thought I'd have to get a cultivator to till up those spots and really tear up the earth there, but after seeing this, maybe not.
Great Irish accent there, by the way! I'm from Newfoundland originally so can mostly understand everything you say. :) All pockets of different accents on that island, for sure. Some even speak the Queen's English... like in "English Harbour". One of my teachers came from there and you'd swear he was straight off the boat from England. :)
I always thought mixing the seed with the topsoil would be the best, but everyone I know just throws it down on top of the ground around here (I live on an island in the US now). But I always think it should cover best if grass pokes its way up through the soil and forms sort of a "mat". So thanks for doing that, because I think that method should be most effective.
One thing I didn't get was what you did at the end. It looked like you seeded the whole area with new lawn seed after you'd covered the bare spots. Is this necessary, as well? Or does it just help the new seed you put down in the bare spots blend in better (ie: if I didn't know the species of grass I'm replacing... which I don't). I assume its the same seed you filled the patches with, correct? But why you were doing it seems like it was skipped over.
Anyway, great video. Thanks again! I'll be sure to watch more of your other ones. I like the real hands-on down-to-earth approach! All the best!
Excellent advice as usual. Dog rocks have worked well for me. Most of the damage occurs in dry, sunny spells.
Thanks
Thank you. Leatherjackets front garden / dog rear! I need all the help I can get! The video’s are very helpful.

Hi Robbie , got a Bull dog that is ruining my lawn with his wee , going to try using your advice .
Thanks.
Hi Martin, this works a treat
loved your video.. thank you very much for doing this. We are getting a puppy in 5 weeks so I am doing all research and your tips absolutely helped... well done
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂😊
Another great video. It would be good if you did a video on lawn weeds, like buttercup and couch grass 👍
A video on weed grass is coming shortly 😁
Thanks! This is fantastic. We are going to try the same thing this summer!
Good luck 😃
Dog rocks definitely work! 👍
Seems to be like Marmite, you either love them or hate them 👌
Fixed the patches in my lawn within a few weeks, unfortunately more matches have appeared since :( dog rocks are back out and more patch fixing needed. Thanks for your helpful video though. Such a simple fix.
Glad to help 😊
Another great helpful video from Premier Lawns.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
Great video Robbie! Just what I needed! I read your blog on this subject but there is nothing better then being shown it firsthand 👍
Hi Dan
Thanks for watching, glad it was of some use 👍❤
The video was very informative. Thanks. I find brown spots on my lawn if I mow deep. How to deal with these spots
There isn't enough information to give you an answer
Thanks very much - great advice. Unfortunately I don't know what type of grass seed was used so, as I'm cutting out a couple of beds in my lawn, I'm going to use small clods of soil and grass to fill the spaces. It may look a mess for a couple of weeks but I'm hoping they will take. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Robbie, been watching all your videos over the last couple of months and my lawn is looking fab now. Keep up the good work and more videos please.
Betty thanks for watching, any questions fire away 😁
I had the same question as another comment regarding mushrooms growing on my lawn so I read the answer you gave thanks.
Thanks - most useful
Glad to help 🙂 nice to see you are enjoying the videos 😊
Super video, will commence giving it a go tomorrow!
works a treat
thanks m8 was just looking how to sort this very problem Subscribed TY
Hi John, thanks for the sub ❤
Absolutely brilliant! Top advice. Thanks for your help... Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Paul ❤
The lawn looks great. Thanks for the information. Sure hope ours will as well!
Thank you for the video , I have a small yorkie and have tried several methods on the wee patches without much success .
Will give your method a try , it looks about the easiest one so far and will let you know .
Also tried different kinds of dog rocks again not much success with those either .
I even made Cory a toilet , got a drip tray , drilled holes in it , fitted a piece of artificial grass then sprayed it with a spray that attracts dogs to wee on it , again no success Cory didn’t like the feel of the artificial grass , just a tip if anyone else wants to try it .
Thank you again
No problem 💪👍
Fantastic video, I have a 3 months new turf lawn. Looked like a carpet and then all of a sudden loads of wee patches came out of nowhere (thanks poochie!) at the same time. Have just followed this step by step on my lawn. What was in the spreader after please? Also I had the rocks in her water bowl in prep for the lawn.. did nothing :(
Thanks for the info and demo. Have a great day
Glad you found it helpful
Thank You So Much for Best Advice! May I share this vid elsewhere?
Of course... Please do!
I use the Envii Neuturine from amazon every couple of weeks in the summer - works great!
Good to hear
Great tips thank you so much.
Thank you ❤️😊

As always, super helpful. Thanks Robbie.
❤
Thanks again Robbie another tremendous video! As with the other comments my lawn has never looked better!
A video I would like to see you do is how to get rid of dandelions and weeds I’m pulling them out with my trowel and they keep coming back are there any preventative measures you can take, I’ve always steered away from weed and feed for fear of giving an overdose...
Many thanks
Simon
Simon I have always steered away from weed control as the products I use are stronger to what is available to Joe public
Though I'm trying to figure that out.
Thank you you got right to the point no BS
Great advice much needed thank you
Glad it helped 🙂
Love the hat legend!!
It finally made its way to Ireland ❤
Had intended to do a yo mate welcome to another lawn tip vid, but didn't think it would work in this video.
It's getting added soon 😁😁😁

Always wondered why around the patch was so green - great info and will defo try the fairy trick
Great video bertie... Think I'll try this with my lawn as I've the same issue 😎
Good lad
Great, Thank you I will follow the steps!
Excellent stuff 🙂
You have a beautiful home. Nice and neat
Many thanks for the great video, I will try it soon. Can I confirm if this was fertiliser that you used in your trolley once you spread the topsoil with the seeds? Many thanks!
I don't have a link for that sorry
Love the border collie mate
Nice job Robbie, very helpful mate.

Handy wee tip wif the fairy..few wee patches to fix on a new bitta turf i laid cpl months ago..altho i dare say they wont be the last..cherrs mate 👍😁
No problem. Just remember to break up the soil 👍
@@Premier_lawns_official yeah will do robbie..cheers m8..
Really good video with some useful tips and advice
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Have a great weekend 😁
How big of an area or how many spots would you say it just too much to try to repair ? Should just put new sod down
That will depend on your budget and your needs
What a nice fella! Thanks for the video. Clearly put together and really helpful.
Thanks!
Thank you! Which fertilizer did you use?
You can use any fertilizer
Really good advice. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it ❤
Hi. Great video, thank you.
First time dog owner here so my questions are bound to be stupid. We have a Collie Cross bread pup (9mths) and I have numerous patches that need repairing which will take a lot of soil and grass seed. Stupid question number 1, will the grass seed cause problem to the dog if ingested and 2, how do I deter the dog not to dig those repaired areas (might be a dog expert area).
The seed shouldn't be an issue, it may cause slight intestinal discomfort but ingesting dirt will cause a lot of intestinal discomfort (vomiting/diarrhoea) if too much is swallowed.
Use a bit of hardware cloth/chicken wire over the dirt patch to stop digging. You can hold it down with brick, pegs, etc. may not even need to secure it in every location.
Awesome video
Happy to help 🙂
Great video. I'm in Canada and was wondering if you could replace the "fairy liquid" with some mild liquid dish soap to help break down the urea acid so it sinks deeper into
the ground? Thank you.
Yes any mild dish washer soap will work
Thanks for the video. Do you regular run the seed spreader over the lawn? Does that have topsoil mixed in with it?
Is there a seed you would recommend?
The seed will depend on the lawn... Most cases rye and fescue together would be my go to seeds
Another great video Robbie. Very very useful.
Especially, owning me own Border Collie.
Will put this into action tomorrow. Cheers. Neil
Hi Neil, good man. ❤👌
Robbie could you please do a video on different weeds you can get in your lawn and how to treat them ?
I have a weed the leaves look like mint with a purple flower.

Just had a look at the site, very interesting information. 😊👍
Another great video, really like your channel and am learning a lot, thanks for taking the time. I'll be following this advice
1 thing I heard about the dog pee is that 1st thing in the morning when they wake up it is more concentrated and does the most damage, if they can do that on a quick walk then it may help
Great advice ❤
Sorry to burst your early k9 bladder tip Rich but we look after a friends dog twice a week and by the time she (the dog) arrives at 9 o´clock she´s had plenty of opportunity to relieve herself, yet the brown blotches in the lawn are still as bad.
Thanks PL, you're in with some good advice here :)
@@projektor4 glad to help
GREAT VIDEO NEEDED THIS!!
👍👍👍🐕🐾
Hey fella. My two very small dogs have ruined my lawn so I gather this fix is pretty much a ongoing thing and not a once only job? Tom
Nicely done that looks good as new
Thanks, it came up well 👍
Great video of the dog spots. From Danny McGrory New York USA! Keep up with the good videos I just subscribe to your channel thanks
Danny that's amazing, thank you very much for the sub, I really appreciate it 👌 ❤
Was that fertilizer or grass seed you put over the whole after the repairs?
Many thanks 🙏🏽
Your welcome ❤👍🙂
There she is! Hey Bella :)
❤❤❤
Great tips and advice
Thanks for watching ❤
Another great video Robbie thank you. Have you ever covered laying a new lawn with turf?
I have turfed more areas than folks have had a hot dinner. I don't do it anymore as I have a bad back
Thanks so much for this video, I just got lawn put down but it’s November now and I’m guessing I can’t do this process just yet right?
Yep to cold
I’m going to try “strong creeping red fescue” to see if that helps with dog spots, what you think Robbie ?
Sounds good, let me know how you get on 👍
Thank you Premier Lawns, really needed to see this via because of Casper hehe
What time of year can you do this for instance October?
As it gets later into the month it will be harder to get the seed to grow
Hi, when you sow grass seeds, can you add fertiliser straight on it? What kind of fertiliser will you recommend to put straight away after sowing grass seeds. Many thanks
The key to all of this is water. You need to keep it damp and not get to hung up on the fertiliser
Could you recommend a reasonably priced wetting agent for this type of repair, I had a look and they are very expensive and a few different types. Thanks.
Depends on what you want to achive
What type of fertiliser do you use when re seeding 👍🏻
Hi mate - after you flatten the soil you go round with a little cart which is spraying something...can you just confirm what that is and what it's doing? Apologies if thats a stupid question
Fertiliser 👍
Good job good tip 👍
Thanks 👍
great, any advice for a lawn in the south of Europe where it doesn't really rain that much so we need to use sprinklers twice a day in winter and 4 times a day in summer 😂
Haha, I think i need a holiday somewhere like that!
Is Fairy Liquid also known as dish washing soap.
Yes 👍
Great advice, any suggestions on how to get rid of leatherjackets??
