I was hoping they were gonna lead in to how tinkerbell met Peter pan after the fairy friends got their own movies since it seemed like it was going into that direction since the movies are meant to be prequels to Peter pan
"Cozy" really is the perfect way to describe the franchise. It's comforting, cute escapism that helps you forget about life for a while. All kinds of feel good, happy vibes. I'd forgotten about those feelings until I watched this and got a nostalgia overload.
I can confirm. I am sick rn and I am rewatching the tinker bell movies/watching these little tinker bell lore videos (or at least as many as I can find) to do just that and escape from life for a while :)
I'm kinda bummed out that Disney canceled these movies. They were kinda generic, safe, and bland, but still colorful/enjoyable. Disney is totally distancing Tinkerbell from this dead franchise. They even redesigned the ten year old Disney Store Tinkerbell doll face mold which had CGI versions chipmunk cheeks. The new face mold which was released around 2021 looks like the old animate version.
I enjoyed this franchise and still go back and listen to the songs as a grown adult. Lol, I still watch Disney when I'm feeling nostalgic or something.
I noticed this too. It's sad to see them shifting back to her old version rather than the charm the Disney Fairies franchise brought to her. I hope they can someday bring back Disney Fairies.
Same, it was m favorite of ll the movies. I remember going to my dad's office to use the computers there and watch the movie online.(I recommend listening to the opening sequence in the Latin American dub, it's great). Also, I just love any winter aesthetics and the winter fairies were really cool
i was bullied by a girl who said i couldn’t be a fairy because, “fairies aren’t fat or brown.” there were so many levels to why it hurt because 1) i thought she was my friend and 2) i was already super insecure about my body image. fira was my first disney fairies introduction and seeing a fairy with my skin color was very encouraging. it took fairy mary in the movies later to address the “fat fairies don’t exist” bs that was fed to me. i’m joyful when i see how diverse these fairies are and that my love for them didn’t steer me from nay-sayers that tried to gatekeep me.
I'm so sorry that happened to you, but its sweet to know the tinker bell movies helped with your perception. this is why representation matters and or makes children and even adults feel seen.
It begs to be mentioned that Gail Carson Levine also wrote Ella Enchanted and a host of other incredible, fairy tale fantasies for young kids. Such a good author!!
Yes! She wrote 'The Two Princesses of Bamarre' , one of my favorite books. I also loved her vision of Neverland in 'Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg' She's an incredible world builder
Shame she still works at Disney but is never fairly paid or given co-credit. She has the option of quitting, but with Disney's disturbing use of Stockholm, it's going to be a battle for her sanity!
I didn't ship Tink and Terrance in the 2nd movie as much, but him talking to her about having been unsatisfied with her talent, while making it sound like *he's* the one who's unappreciated, was really sweet, imo. I love that he subtly helps her to see herself as more than just a tinker fairy, by implying that she's got a special way of seeing the world and those around her. She sees him for him, as Terrance, and not just "dust-keeper guy." I love that insodoing, he shows that he sees her as herself, and not just as her talent. Truly an empowering message, if you think about it. "You are more than your gift." A sentiment echoed a generation later in Encanto, and one I pray the next generation will never forget.
Finally, a lengthy video essay about niche Disney franchise I enjoyed as an adult. I also appreciate that you pointed out the inconsistencies in the films, like the whole warm fairy vs. winter fairy conundrum. Excellent
While I loved this video as well, Disney fairies is not exactly what I would call a “niche” franchise 😭😭 being one of the most popular animated children’s series of the 2000’s surely excludes you from the niche label?
@@badbitcheswalkthrough8195 I would say it's niche because if you ask a lot of hardcore Disney fans, they barely remember it. That doesn't mean it's a bad series and yes, it was popular in its hay day, but it's definitely not mainstream. I meant niche in the grand scheme of things and not simply in the context of the time period in which it garnered popularity.
prilla was always my favorite fairy. as an autistic person, i really related to her and her struggles with feeling different from others due to her talent and delay in finding it - feeling like there's something missing, but learning that this is a part of who she is, and that she is worth being *celebrated*. she even communicates with the other fairies differently, like saying "sorry" instead of "i'd fly backwards if i could", which reminds me of my own differences in communication. much like how she felt connected to the world of the clumsies, growing up with autism i always felt like i connected more with the world of the fairies. prilla was and still is just such a special character to me!
Oh wow! I had no idea there was someone else who adores and remembers the Disney fairies! Good for you! Keep perpetuating the Disney fairies. It's a real shame and sad that the world has forgotten about them, the saddest thing is that Disney no longer continues Tinkerbell's path. When I realized that Disney had already deleted all traces of Disney fairies from all websites and stores, I felt terribly disappointed. There is nothing to do with Disney fairies, and I think that's really sad. I decided together with my little brother to establish our own imaginary world and continue the life of Disney fairies by creating comics and fanart about them. Extraordinary stories, but it makes me feel like Disney fairies still live inside of me. I even made up a story about the ministers of the seasons, how they met and how Pixie Hollow started its life. I came up with a personal story about Queen Clarion, her childhood and her parents.. anything that would give a sign of life to the disappeared Disney fairies.😢😢
@@penguinspenguins2376Yes they did. It is almost certain that every Disney princess in that franchise has a kid, famous villains and even some minor film characters or a big like the fairy godmother. That is why it’s one of my most favorite franchises, plus it has both movies and books tied together in the storyline. I was very sad when I found out that they weren’t going to continue the franchise because Cameron died. At least they didn’t try to erase the franchise like they did with the fairies.
Hello Fairy fans, this video was so nostalgic and magical! After watching I knew I needed that 'In the Realm of the Never Fairies' book. I got the book today and saw the fairy recipe for Dulcie's Poppy Puff Rolls. I couldn't stop myself from attempting to convert the fairy measurement/ ingredients into their human counterparts. Let me tell you, these turned out DELICIOUS! I thought I'd share the recipe here so anyone can try it themselves. It's pretty simple and fun to make. Ingredients: 3/4 cup heavy cream (mouse milk) 1 large egg (the fairies use hummingbird eggs) 1/8 tsp sea salt 6 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice (fairies use buttercup nectar) add more or less to your liking 1 tbsp melted butter (mouse butter) 2 cups all purpose flour plus a little extra for dusting (fairies use hayseed flour) 1 tsp baking powder & 1/2 tsp baking soda (pixie dust) 1 1/12 tbsp pulverized poppy seeds (I didn't do this I just left them whole) 1/2 tsp tarragon or herb of choice Method: Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk milk, egg, salt, and honey until blended. Stream in melted butter while stirring the batter. Sift in pixie dust (raising agents) and flour one cup at a time, mixing well with a spatula until well incorporated. Start using your hands to knead the dough, turn the dough out on a floured work surface. Continue kneading the dough until smooth, add a little flour if it seems too wet. Try not to overwork the dough. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Sprinkle with poppy seeds and herbs. Cut the dough into long strips and roll each strip into a 'snail shell' or 'croissant' like shape. Place on parchment lined baking sheet and brush an egg wash on the top. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy with butter and a cup of tea. Notes: These rolls should turn out crisp and golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside like a biscuit or a scone. You could also probably look up a better poppy filling recipe if you wanted, I kept it simple for experimental purposes lol. I used heavy cream because I happen to have it and thought the fairies would have a really rich and creamy milk. It worked out really well. If anyone tries this with non dairy milk let me know how it goes. In general if you try this out let me know if you liked the recipe! Have fun baking , fly with you later
My first thought when I opened your video was "Oh so we're hearing the gossip straight from a fairy?". Your room and yourself look ✨𝓜𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓬𝓪𝓵✨, you seem so passionate about these enthralling fairy lore, and I hope your channel blows up! Good luck in your journey and remember to always improve and never stop being yourself 🧚🌿
I was a little surprised you didn’t mention The Never Girls. It was the latest book series featuring the fairies. It centered around 4 girls who could magically go to Pixie Hollow and in each book they would team up with a fairy explore Neverland. It had a really great blend of movie and book fairies. There was a long arc where the girls and Tink’s movie friend group had to go save Tinker Bell.
Omg I’m so happy someone did a video essay on Disney fairies. I was obsessed with them growing up, sad Disney didn’t keep the franchise alive. I feel like people would love the fairycore aesthetic nowadays
WTP Staff here: we added butterfly painter last summer and are still actively developing more content! Thanks for the wonderful disney fairies video! edit: THIS IS YOUR FIRST VIDEO???????? omg, you did great also yeah the movies were great but they SEVERELYYYYYYYYYYY butcher the lore the books gave us, most of us just consider the movies their own thing and accept the books as the canon.
Why do they butcher the books. They are both part of the same franchise. Just because there are different fairies in the books than the films in some of them the fairies are still in some scenes in the movies. That is just stupid the way you are thinking about such great films.
@@anname7373 Okay let me refraise this. The books are just earlier stories. The fairies that are in the books are also sometimes in the movies, so they aren’t separate. For example in Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Rani from the books is included.
@@anname7373 Explain to me how exactly that movie does that. Just because it wasn’t said in the books doesn’t make them not part of the same story and franchise. You have to remember that before the story in the secret of wings happened that was all kept a secret because of an accident that happened long ago. That doesn’t prove a thing or your point on that matter. I just completely disproved it so there I’m right it’s that simple.
finally people are making videos about Tinkerbell! for such a beloved series I'm surprised how little videos are on YT about it! it's such a beautiful film series , I love that you can watch it as an adult & just feel peace & warmth
But can you ask her if she can download a video where she is telling us why they added those music videos and why pirate fairy and neverbeast don't have a music video
Pixie Hollow was my favorite online game. The mini games were sooo fun. When you traveled around the area, little icons of materials, like a bundle of pine cones or buttercups, would spawn and if you clicked on it your fairy would fly over it and it would go to your inventory. I wish I could play it again. I love the clothes they had and the character creation was cute. As the movies came out, they had things from the movies in some areas, like the hot air balloon that Tinker Bell used. I read the fairy books that came out before then. Raini was my favorite. I would collect coins and save them up so that I could buy them because my mom didn’t have much money at the time.
i feel the exact same about the videos. i watch all of them. i miss the happiness, i miss my pixies, i miss the game, i miss the pixie hollow universe😭
The thing is about Pixie Hollow online, there was a period where it existed BEFORE the main movies overtook the lore (and extremely early when just the first movie existed). In the original version that I had started playing, when you made your fairie you could choose EVERYTHING about them, fashion-wise. There were talents but they didn't mean anything, you could give your fairie whatever outfit you wanted in the creation menu, and pose them. Then, you could have the option to print them, which would just have the sprite on a white background. I remember making like 15+ fairies in the menu then printing them on cardstock, cutting them out, then bringing them to school so my friends could play paper dolls during free time. I played it again in middle school and was heartbroken to see that they did away with the fashion at the start and gave you plain, white clothes. Even my old fairies had their outfits removed and changed. I still played it a TON during this time, but eventually I got left behind by the membership priority switching and I ultimately left because everything I wanted to do was stuck behind a paywall I just plainly didn't have the permission or money for. I've never been able to find a version archived that is the Pixie Hollow I remember, and I miss it all the time.
These were some of my favorite movies as a kid. I even convinced my little brother that we could create a fairy army and take over never land. So we got an old fish tank found as many dandelions as we could and emptied them into it, and then we would just laugh over it. We probably looked demented.
My all time favorite Disney fairy book was about a baker fairy. Sadly, I don’t remember much since it’s been sooooo long since I’ve read it. My favorite Disney game was on the iPad and it was a boutique game. You could make clothes for other players aka fairies. Sadly, the game was removed
I can't believe I almost let this video pass me by, felt like it was made for me based on my love for the franchise. I was obsessed with Tinkerbell I even had a themed birthday party of her when I was turning 4. I also remember putting in my CD of Tinkerbell into my TV when I was really young and just loving the hell out of her. I was really sad when they stopped making movies on Tinkerbell and I hope one day they make more soon :( Thanks for this deep dive and hope you make more about different things, this video was really well made for a first! Hope you keep making more ;)
You want the organisation that give us the homosexual version of Buzz Lightyear and race swapped Tinkerbell in live action remake to do more Tinkerbell movies? I just want Disney to die ASAP so they can't interfere with her ever again.
@@tamarakoenigsberg Just a bunch of homo and trans activists. They tried to come up with dirt on John Lasseter for a year and come up with nothing so they got him fired because he hugged too much in the workplace.
All about disney fairies screams escapism with those lore books, the game where you could design your own fairy and the magical musical soundtrack of the movies :') just when i got older I understood that this was why i loved this frachise, not because of the basic plot and generic characters. But those helped to give space for our own imaginations and self-insert Great video very excited for the next ones!
fairy dust and the quest for the egg does have such beautiful illustrations!! the artist is david christiana, he was the head of my university's illustration program. he's a super cool dude and a wildly talented artist!
disney should really bring back the disneys fairies franchise, i loved it as a kid! i kinda wish i had the pixie hollow online tbh but i didn't have internet access at the time. i DID have this tinker bell game on the DS though. i played it for hours and hours.
Vidia will always be my favorite which is shocking because I generally go for nice girls. Just something about her. Also... I can't believe this is your first video. It's so good and the view count is not suprising.
Fira was my all time favourite but Rani's story and character is also very captivating. I love the amount of detail they poured into generation 1. I used to have the tiny dolls, I wish I still did
I discovered this series too late. I saw the Pirate Fairy DVD in-store around the time it came out and, out of sheer curiosity, checked it out. I loved it so I watched the other four movies and was hooked. I watched the sixth movie as soon as I could, looked up the Pixie Hollow Games and the shorts on UA-cam, and then when I learned the movies were cancelled I looked to see if there was anything else at all and found the books. Started with the first three books and found them to be a good read, and was interested in the differences in the lore between the films and the books. I then started looking into the rest of the Disney Fairies books and bought as much as I could find - I have a good number of them but am still missing so much (thankfully got the four Disney Fairies manga books while they were still available :D), but suffice to say, I am so in love with this franchise and so sad that it's over now. I write my own fanfic set in the movie setting, but with certain elements taken from the books (most notably characters like Prilla and Rani), and even if I only get a solid 2 or 3 views per chapter, it still makes me happy :)
I GREW UP ON THE TINKER BELL FRANCHISE!!! I loved the movies (though not Peter Pan LOL) and had a good majority of the little books, and played Pixie Hollow for a while... SOO much of this was my childhood. This video was SUCH a nostalgia trip for me, and answered so many questions! I was always confused on the very clear divide between the books lore and the movie lore, and eventually I figured they were two separate continuities. NOW IM SO EXCITED because I know where to find more about the book characters I liked but never knew where they came from!!! AND THERES PIXIE HOLLOW REVIVAL PROJECTS OMG.. I lived overseas for a good chunk of my life and I was so sad to find that a bunch of this stuff had all disappeared when it was SOOOO popular growing up for me. I too would love a decent Disney Fairies revival, even if it's for the nostalgia clickbait I would be a sucker for it LOL
In a good way, you give off an Izzzyzzz vibe. I read the books as a kid, but I don't remember any of the book-only fairies aside from Rani. She stuck out to me since her sacrificing her wings to save Pixie Hollow was so selfless. I also remember there being a dragon in one of the books imprisoned under the roots of a fire-proof tree, and the fairies needed him to breathe fire on the dove egg to keep it alive or something. OH and the online game!! That was my bread and butter!! I still miss it so much to this day, its aesthetic is unmatched.
Your room is so prettyyyy. Just started to collect the dolls and the books. I get such a safe and cozy vibe from the Disney fairies. it’s so calming. The soundtracks are so beautiful too. In overall it’s so nostalgic it makes me feel at home.
I knew the transition sounds in this vid sounded like the arcade mini game from Club Penguin, & when the music at 24:40 started I knew it was from CP!! I love the nostalgia it gave me, I hope you make a video about CP eventually!
aw the music actually isn’t from club penguin,, i like to use nostalgic background music so it probably sounds familiar or similar to that. i used to love playing club penguin though, and the soundtrack is lovely
The Disney fairies property was a huge part of my childhood, I'm so glad other people out there have the same passion for it as I did. I grew up watching the movies as they came out and read the books later because I was a little too young to read them as they released. Also to answer or possibly add to the lore questions I'd like to add the content of the Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell DS game. This game was released in 2008 along side the first movie, and introduces a cast of fairies that mostly come from the first version but with a massive redesign (for example look up Nollie an animal fairy). But interestingly Terence is still interested in poetry like his version 1 character. He is also 100% meant to be shipped with Tink, as he writes romantic poetry and after 8 pm is found in the area outside her house in tinker village. Mother dove while not referenced directly seems to make a small cameo, as once you've completed a certain amount of seasons you gain a bird whistle that acts as a sort of fast travel. And while not named directly I've always assumed the bird was mother dove as the bird is a light pink doveish looking bird. Adding to the weird confusion with the 3rd movie Tink is able to enter the winter world with no difficulty and no comments are made on the subject. There are some great long plays online if you want to get a feel for the game, and it's pretty easy to find on ebay and other second hand websites. Also fully unrelated to the DS game Queen Clarion's redesign is the only one that i feel improves the character, her new pixie dust dress feels more mature than the old pink frilly one. Thank you so much for making this video, I love your aesthetic and video making style! (sorry for writing half an essay in your comment section)
I still have that game! I got it along with my DS and played that game to death! I also loved the daily fortune and all the fun outfits! I spent a lot of time trying to get rare items and completing seasons!
The books and movies have so much heart put into their art direction. I still love the fairies, their world inspires my own art. I didn’t even realize this was your first video, I can’t wait to see more
Both generations of the Disney Fairies hold such a special place in my heart. While the movies bring me so much joy and comfort, if I had to choose, I think I’m more nostalgic for Generation 1. The characters and world are so complex, and I love the art style and design so much more. I first found the books in my elementary school library in the first grade, and would read them with my mom. So many happy memories 🥹 This video is absolutely lovely; happy to subscribe ❤
Could not believe it when you said it was your first video, you're doing extremely well! Your voice being softer actually made it a very enjoyable video for me and definitely gave me cozy vibes, can't wait to watch the next one cuddled under a blanket with a cup of tea! You got this, keep your head held high!
As soon as I heard that little snippet of the film’s music, I suddenly wanted to cry. It was such a crazy wave of nostalgia unlike ones I’ve had before! The second film was always my favourite as a child until the Secret of the Wings came out. I think the least memorable for me were the Great Fairy Rescue and the Pixie Hollow Games, which is understandable since it was a short. Side note- your voice is so relaxing and I love your aesthetic! I’m excited to see more of your videos (and I refuse to believe we are the same age, honestly)!
i was 14-19 during this time peroid and pixie hollow and disney fairies was my special little escape and it meant so much to me even tho i was "older". i had all the school supplies and dolls too. i remember finding other girls on pixie hollow my age and bonding instantly and having so much fun until the day they took the site down. my own irl friend group was quite mean about my love for fairies in general and this franchise, but i didnt care. fairies have remained a big part of my life and personality through adult hood. thank you for making this video, it is special for a lot of people. great job
Happy first video! I loved that you included physical journal collages to go along with the video-it really fits the diy aspect of tinker bell and makes the video more visually unique! Disney Fairies was a big thing for me growing up: I had the gen 1 books (which apparently I don’t have anymore and that’s heartbreaking), Nintendo games, watched the movies so much, was a frequent visitor to PixieHollow online, and I still have that lore book you used in this video! I remember trying to write my own letters in the leaf language. It was great to watch another perspective of the franchise from a younger fan (even if I disagree with some of your movie opinions n rankings heh) Looking forward to seeing how you grow with your channel and what comes next!
i love how cute the journal u made is, it added a really nice detail, that and being able to see the books eing flipped throught made the whole vibe of the video feel very homey, nostalgic and fairy like
omg i LOVED the tinker bell movies and books i remember laying on my floor and just rereading the art/lore book over and over because i loved the art and world building so much (also off topic but your whole aesthetic is so cute)
I didn’t grow up with these films but I could feel the secondhand nostalgia here, especially about the online games part. This is one of those series that I feel like I would enjoy some of even in adulthood and even with it being on the simpler side for children. It just feels cozy and sweet. I agree that we were robbed of Tinker Academy, I love the art style and it would have been so nice to see fully realized! Fingers crossed for it being revisited one day, even if it could be a while and under a new studi. Your fairycore room really fits this first video of yours and I adore your hair decorations! Having a bunch of Animal Crossing music was very fitting too, and I really like the ripped paper title cards.
Wow I’m really surprised by the view count! I thought there would be a lot more views! I absolutely love the Disney fairies and this was a really nice video to put on in the background while I was cleaning!! Also that first song in the video sounds so familiar, I need to know where it’s from! p.s. i read a comment of someone being rude about your voice, and I’d just like to say that I honestly find your voice really nice and calming! It was lovely hearing you!! I hope we’ll see some more videos from you soon, I have subscribed!
thank you so much for the kind words! hopefully my channel will grow with time 💫 the song in the opening is Hisohkah - school rooftop. I first heard it through tiktok so it may be familiar from there?
LPS icon, animal jam font banner, LOZ music, and a full video about the entire Disney Fairy franchise INCLUDING my favorite books??? oh man I cannot wait to see this channel n community grow you are checking all the right cozy nostalgia boxes
This is wonderful!! The editing is fantastic, I was elated upon hearing background music from content I recognized, and you kept me listening the whole video! I can tell you put a lot of effort into this, can't wait to see what you post next!! :)✨
I bought The Trouble With Tink in 6th grade because it was seriously large print with beautiful art, and my grandma had lost most of her vision due to several strokes. I later drew an illustration of Tink based on a page from that book. I taped my version of the illustration into my art/scrapbook.
while I was growing up, I had a little exposure to gen1 fairies. My mom still has a ruler with some of the gen1 fairies on it, and I remember having a book with two episodic stories in it. One of these stories was about Tinkerbell, who had broken her only hammer and was getting way behind on her work. She tries to build a new hammer, but it leaves the pots she mends leaky and unusable. Then, she reveals she has a spare hammer but she left it with Peter Pan, who she had a bit of a falling out with. anyways she eventually goes to ask for her spare hammer, makes up with Peter and it's all chill. The other story follows (I think) a younger garden fairy who's feeling a bit useless because she can't actually garden. She finds a giant seed and decides to plant it because it's never been seen before, she wants to study it, and maybe she'll even have some success with it. the plant is horrible, it's got yellow spots, it's sticky, it smells terrible, it eventually starts putting out tons of pollen making everyone feel sick and unable to fly, but she keeps taking care of it and refuses to cut it down. Everyone's given up hope on the plant, and to an extent, on our garden fairy as well. Eventually, the plant matures and loses its worst qualities, revealing it's like some legendary golden fruit tree with delicious fruit, and everyone's very impressed with our garden fairy. also, she's been keeping field notes on all the plants she comes across, and she figures out that her garden is in her notebook. My favourites from gen1 were Prilla (because I could relate to feeling like something was missing) and Rani (how did i not know i was queer?) gen2 I remember a lot better, I've seen every movie except the pirate fairy at least twice. Secret of the Wings was my favourite at the time, but it might be Neverbeast now. Honestly I love fairies of all kinds, I grew up on fairy tales, and even today I still take inspiration from legends of the fair folk. Tinkerbell was a formative part of my childhood, thank you so much for covering it 💜
i’m not sure which book pairs those stories together, but those stories sound like The Trouble with Tink and Lily’s Pesky Plant respectively, i know there are online archives out there for them
i just remembered a couple of years ago that the books existed!! you're so right, i wish we got literally any content of the gen 1 characters outside of the books :/// loved your video!! :D
I LOVED the books. Rani was my absolute favorite and I remember being upset that she was “replaced” by Silvermist. I have vivid memories of searching for the series at the library 🥰
this video is super well done and the scrapbook elements are super charming! super glad i found this video, i’ll definitely be subscribing to see what you make in the future. i loved this series as a kid and i still really appreciate the art direction and lore to this day. i had a couple of books, one was a very interactive pop up book that had secret messages, little pockets with items, etc… and the other was similar to the book that you used for this video but featured the gen 2 fairies if i remember correctly. i also owned and adored all of the movies aside from the last one. it was such an important series to me growing up so this video was really fun to watch.
I once binged the tinkerbell movies after remembering how much I loved them when I was little. It was definitely campy and one of Disneys Safer Movies™, but it just added to the charm lol. The fairy "lore" became a joke between my friends & I, we had a lot of fun reminiscing about it. I still have my fairy dolls I bought when Disney was still trying to market the franchise instead of hiding it completely. Still mourning the cancellation of campy movies like Tinkerbell, Barbie, Monster High, etc etc. Amazing video, I've been hoping somebody would make a deep dive about this niche franchise lol. Definitely subscribing!
omggg, I just finished rewatching all the movies of the franchise and I get this video in my recommandations -kinda scary but i'm not complaining, i needed a deep dive into this universe-. It really doesn't feel like it's your first video girl, loved it ! I am also a second gen fan, I remember when the first movie came out when I was 7... I was obsessed !! But i never got to see the last two ones, (fixed that now :p). I also never played the MMO... I never knew it existed ... maybe it's because i'm french and it never crossed the "english-speeking world". But I had (and still have) the DS games which came out at that time. Hearing the soundtrack during your video was soooo nostalgic for me. I'm really sad that it's now over ; this franchise had so much more to offer... Maybe, one day, Tinker Bell will return, we'll see :) I'm really looking foward to watch your next video, you really deserve more views for all this work ! You have a new subscriber and good luck girl !!
i also played the ds game, it was soo cute,, i wanted to mention it in the video but couldn’t find a point 😭 so i used the ds soundtrack haha. tysm for ur support and for watching ❤️
27:10 I think there might be a glitch in your timeline. Take a look at the little girl at the end of the first Tinkerbell film. She looks awfully familiar, huh? And if memory serves, when we hear her call out to her mom that she found the music box (that Tink fixed and left for her), we even hear the mom say something offscreen like "That's wonderful, Wendy!"
@@alexisforsythe5331 ah, I see. I guess I forget that fairies don't age near as quickly as humans, so 5-6 years for a human doesn't translate equally to a fairy's lifespan.
I loved this franchise so much as a kid. And you're right that this IP still has/had so much potential and I hope they revive some of this stuff some day. I could say way too much stuff about it but the one thing I wanna say is looking back on all this stuff as a kid makes me realize that Terrence was bascially my first gay crush and I just wasn't aware at the time. If I had been allowed by my parents to think I was gay, I would have been full on OBSESSED with him. It's so sad to me that he barely got to be in Great Fairy Rescue and Pixie Hollow Games and then never came back again
oh this was beautiful!! and right up my alley!! I loved playing Pixie Hollow in elementary school (though I never had a membership and often forgot go write down my passwords, so I started from scratch almost every time I played it lmao); i agree with how you described it, to me the charm was mostly from the experience/escapism of living in a fairy world!! I could also get lost playing games like Bubble Buster for hours. I'm excited to see how We The Fairies goes! The amount of work and passion you've put into this video is amazing!! It's so exciting to learn more about/share nostalgia for something I grew up loving ✨🧚♂️💖 it's inspired me to revisit the franchise! also omg i LOVE your collage/list of rules, it's wonderful! I'd love to see a vid about how you plan/find pieces for/make your collages, if that's something you'd be comfortable sharing (I've been doing collage on occasion but I often feel like I don't know where to start ':-)
i just use random scraps and crafts, save things like wrapping paper, paper bags, take pages out of old books and illustrations, and print out cute pictures that fit the style or the theme!
this is so nostalgic and i just rewatched all the movies, so finding this lovely video feels like fate!! my heart yearns for more movies, i would pay anything for the series to come back
This unlocked so many memories and it's making me tear up. gotta love PMS. I remember my dad watching the pirate fairy with my mom and I and it just felt so special to have a dad who would watch "girly" things with us
I adored Silvermist- especially when I played the DS games. I loved having my character resemble her the one that allowed for character customization (I can't remember which one of the two that was rn) still have them and Revisit them from time to time. Fun fact, Silvermist was a core design inspiration for the earliest design of my earliest and most cherished character. It can mostly be seen in her hair style with the initially 2 locks of hair at different lengths which have been kept to this day, but are now the same length. nwn
My favorite memory of Disney Fairies Generation 1 was finding a graphic novel at the library and getting so engross that I didn't notice the full blown hurricane right outside the window until my mom yelled at me to move 😂
I can’t wait for any other videos you make! This was very calming and interesting to watch ;w; I wish wish wish the tinker school movie happend ;w; would have been so fun to see more fairy gadget and just explore that whole fairy skill
oh gosh thank you SO much for doing a deep dive into this series!! I cannot stress how much this series is caked in nostalgia for me, particularly the books as I grew up checking out those from the library constantly. I love the movies but I can admit I was disappointed to have re-watched the dvd concept extra you mentioned so often only to find none of the characters from the books in the new movies haha Bess was a fundamental part of my childhood--she looked just like me and loved art like me and I idolized her. I had her doll and then got a second doll because I ruined the first one by accidentally ripping off her wing. As I've pursued a professional art career I've re-read her book and it hits way harder as an adult, the way the author wrote it you can tell they were a jaded freelance artist LOL. I frequently re-read the pixie hollow books actually--its strangely grounding and connects to me back to my inner child. The movies I really loved too though when I watched secret of the wings I felt very strange around Periwinkle and found out 18 years later it was because I had a crush on her and was gay haha oops (similar emotions for the pirate fairy and silvermist--I'm pretty sure Pixie Hollow was many lesbians' gay awakening) I was also a pixie hollow online user--I used my meager allowance to buy 1 month of membership and it was one of the best months I can remember. In the heyday the site had so many fun features for members with tons of clothing, and when I threw a party at my house I was apparently so nice all the fairies thought I was a mod. I was never the popular girl but I was the IT fairy in pixie hollow online for 1 month and I will take pride in that. Then I just went back to being poor and everyone promptly forgot I existed so it prepared me for the real world I guess Also finally I only posted 1 fanfiction publicly and it was about about a cleaning fairy with a random sparrowman love interest I made because of compulsive heteronormality. It is lost to the internet cause I deleted it out of embarrassment despite it being as chaste as it gets. Really should've done my closeted self a solid and made one with Periwinkle I stg
I remember having a cup featuring Lily, Rani and Beck I think with Tinkerbell obvi. That is about my only experience with gen 1 as a kid. I have recently read one book: Tink, North of Neverland. And personally squealed when I first saw Peter's name appear along with the Lost Boys My favourite movie is the Great Fairy Rescue. The Lost Treasure (purely for the autumn aesthetics) , Pirate Fairy and Neverbeast are close contenders. So sad that the franchise just ended so. Apparently the movie after Tinker Academy was the 'Tink meets Peter' movie. An artist that worked on the film revealed two storyboards and how the film would've delved into Peter's beginnings and how he got to Neverland as well as his relationship with Tink. We also Apparently would've got to see exactly the circumstance surrounding how Hook lost his hand. Sounded like a very ambitious film. Granted, it was meant to be the last one of the franchise to tie it back to Peter Pan. I feel so robbed as a Peter & the Lost Boys fan. It would've been so cool to see them in CGI
I remember on at least one (maybe two) of the Disney cruise ships they had a Disney Fairy themed area in the Oceaneer's Club (the kids club). Out of all the areas it was probably my favorite because they often had arts and craft things going on and hanging out there is definitely a core memory of mine. Also, Tinkerbell and the legend of the Neverbeast is my favorite movie of the franchise I watched all the time (along with the other movies ofc) when I was younger.
I practically grew up alongside the Tinkerbell movies (as I was born in 2006) so I found this video really fun and insightful! Really sad they stopped making them. Rosetta was always my favourite and i think it took until this video to realise she was voiced by Kristen Chenoweth which is pretty funny. Also my favourite movies were Great Fairy Rescue, Secret of the Wings and the Pirate Fairy - i was so obsessed with them.
omg i loved this review! i was born in 2004 and grew up with the tinkerbell movies, and hearing you talk abt the books got me so excited, i’m definitely buying them all now😆. and initially, I thought this video was just gonna be a quick rundown on the lore of the disney faries but this was so in depth! i love the organisation of the videos and how you edited it. i enjoyed it a lot and im excited to see more videos like this, as well as seeing you grow as a channel! keep doin ya thang girliepop😉✨💗
I like that in the movies fairy wings are reminiscent of cat and dog tails and how it can represent an emotion. Like when they get scared or worried their wings go down, when they are content their wings flap slowly, and when they are actively engaged their wings flap quickly
Seeing this is so bittersweet, thank you for your work on this. One of my first chapter books was Quest for the Egg and the books for the characters and I still own all of them today. This series holds so much nostalgia for me. Bess was one of my favorites and because of her I drew all the time and eventually went to art school! To this day these stories are a comfort and I often find myself putting the movies on in the background while I work.
at 6:12 the photo you show used to be a poster on my wall back in my old room. I absolutely loved these fairy designs and could never decide on my favourite
I'm so glad the algorithm recommended me this amazing video! I had foggy memory of the first gen fairies and I thought it was a hallucination 😂 I loved your commentary, music selection and aesthetic! Happy to be here since the beginning 😊❤
I’m so so SO sad they took down the sites and canceled the movies. It was a bright happy place. Fairy core at its absolute finest.
Someone recreated the site, I think it’s still there on google if you search it
pixie hollow was an absolute dream for me as a child, I’ll never forget the sweet memories I made playing that game!
I was hoping they were gonna lead in to how tinkerbell met Peter pan after the fairy friends got their own movies since it seemed like it was going into that direction since the movies are meant to be prequels to Peter pan
@@champagnesocialist777 same. i was obsessed. cant wait for the fan-remake
Agreed.
Wait they what? But the pirate fairy was so fun!
@@sonamy1231000the neverbeast was soooooo emotional
@@Angelo-uw9eoyess ive been meaning to rewatch it because i remember it being really impactful
I noticed this too. It's sad to see them shifting back to her old version rather than the charm the Disney Fairies franchise brought to her. I hope they can someday bring back Disney Fairies.
secret of the wings is definitely the most memorable film for me. i was obsessed with all the winter fairies, especially periwinkle.
Me too it was literally the best along with the great fairy rescue imo
facts I loved the neverbeast movie so much
I love Secret of the Wings so much! It gave me great comfort when my sister went away to college (and still does! I watch it every winter 😄❄️)
Same, it was m favorite of ll the movies. I remember going to my dad's office to use the computers there and watch the movie online.(I recommend listening to the opening sequence in the Latin American dub, it's great). Also, I just love any winter aesthetics and the winter fairies were really cool
The pirate one and secret of the wings are my two favs
i was bullied by a girl who said i couldn’t be a fairy because, “fairies aren’t fat or brown.” there were so many levels to why it hurt because 1) i thought she was my friend and 2) i was already super insecure about my body image. fira was my first disney fairies introduction and seeing a fairy with my skin color was very encouraging. it took fairy mary in the movies later to address the “fat fairies don’t exist” bs that was fed to me. i’m joyful when i see how diverse these fairies are and that my love for them didn’t steer me from nay-sayers that tried to gatekeep me.
I'm so sorry that happened to you, but its sweet to know the tinker bell movies helped with your perception. this is why representation matters and or makes children and even adults feel seen.
❤
She should see those movies lmao
I'm sorry u got bullied 😢 but it's great that Tinkerbell helped you feel better ❤❤ representation matters!!!
Fairies can have any skin colour or body type but they sure as hell can't be bitches. 😁
"You are more than your gift." A sentiment echoed a generation later in Encanto, and one I pray the next generation will never forget.
omg this is so true!!!
These movies were literally my entire childhood. I absolutely adored Silvermist and to this day she's one of my biggest aesthetic inspirations.
Same! I reread the first book recently and my first thought was "oh. She has fairy autism"
I feel the exact same way! She was and is my favorite
I came up with a personal story about Queen Clarion, her childhood and her parents.. anything that would give a sign of life to the disappeared Disney fairies.😢😢
can we read them anywhere?
I'm interested too
that's wonderful!!
The fairies are born from laughter and dont have parents
omg pls post them on ao3 🙏🏾🙏🏾 i would love to read this!

I would love to see the Disney Mermaids franchise happen someday!
Imagine Melody's existence beeing acknowledged again! Ariel beeing (the only) mom-Disney-princess is something very important to me
Same here. I always to know more about Ariel's sisters.
@@PokemonkaDub Some of the other Disney Princesses became mothers in the Descendants films.
I would love to see the live action Ariel and the animated Ariel together in this Disney Mermaids.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup heavy cream (mouse milk)
1 large egg (the fairies use hummingbird eggs)
1/8 tsp sea salt
6 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice (fairies use buttercup nectar) add more or less to your liking
1 tbsp melted butter (mouse butter)
2 cups all purpose flour plus a little extra for dusting (fairies use hayseed flour)
1 tsp baking powder & 1/2 tsp baking soda (pixie dust)
1 1/12 tbsp pulverized poppy seeds (I didn't do this I just left them whole)
1/2 tsp tarragon or herb of choice
Method:
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Notes:
These rolls should turn out crisp and golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside like a biscuit or a scone.
Have fun baking ,
fly with you later
this is so lovely !! 💗
Sounds delicious! 🤤
whoah that’s very interesting!!!

Good luck in your journey and remember to always improve and never stop being yourself 🧚🌿
aw thank you!! ❤️
I LOVED those books when I was in elementary school, I still have all of them 😭
Omg I’m so happy someone did a video essay on Disney fairies. I was obsessed with them growing up, sad Disney didn’t keep the franchise alive. I feel like people would love the fairycore aesthetic nowadays
WTP Staff here: we added butterfly painter last summer and are still actively developing more content! Thanks for the wonderful disney fairies video!
edit: THIS IS YOUR FIRST VIDEO???????? omg, you did great
also yeah the movies were great but they SEVERELYYYYYYYYYYY butcher the lore the books gave us, most of us just consider the movies their own thing and accept the books as the canon.
Why do they butcher the books. They are both part of the same franchise. Just because there are different fairies in the books than the films in some of them the fairies are still in some scenes in the movies. That is just stupid the way you are thinking about such great films.
@@kaitlinschwarz3644 The films are cool too, but they make no sense in relation to the books. Both can be true. I agree that the films are great.
@@anname7373 Okay let me refraise this. The books are just earlier stories. The fairies that are in the books are also sometimes in the movies, so they aren’t separate. For example in Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Rani from the books is included.
@@kaitlinschwarz3644 Secret of the wings directly contradicts the books
Same!! My re-found obsession has spiralled and I think I've watched all of the videos on YT and I'm rewatching this for the second time ToT
I love finding channels like these! Thank you for covering this topic no matter how many videos I see on the Disney fairies I will always watch them.

IS IT THE NINTENDOGS MUSIC??? istg thats all i hear 😭😭😭😭
This is your first video?!?! This is incredible!! I love deep dives into media like this, thank you for making my morning routine more interesting ❤
Sounds funny
I was shocked when you said this is your first video! It’s so well done 🥰 I really love hearing people talk about nostalgia stuff like this
I discovered this series too late.
Where can I read your book?
what's your fanfic called? I'll like to give it a read ;)
I'd like to read the fanfic! What is it called and where can I find it?
The legend of never beast made me and my mom cry SO MUCH every time. It’s on of my favorites
Omg the Tinker Bell DS game! Pure nostalgia, I used to spend countless hours on that game! Finally another person who remembers it lol😂
Everytime I remember they took the Pixie Hollow game down it breaks me and I die a little bit inside and I want to cry
So many happy memories 🥹
This video is absolutely lovely; happy to subscribe ❤
Could not believe it when you said it was your first video, you're doing extremely well!
Your voice being softer actually made it a very enjoyable video for me and definitely gave me cozy vibes, can't wait to watch the next one cuddled under a blanket with a cup of tea!
You got this, keep your head held high!
I want to say I really like your voice, because it sounds very calm and comforting like a parent telling their children a bedtime story.
It was great to watch another perspective of the franchise from a younger fan (even if I disagree with some of your movie opinions n rankings heh)
Looking forward to seeing how you grow with your channel and what comes next!
thank you for watching and the support! glad you could relive some of your memories ❤️
i love how cute the journal u made is, it added a really nice detail, that and being able to see the books eing flipped throught made the whole vibe of the video feel very homey, nostalgic and fairy like
I got SO excited when you said your favorite was Iridessa! She's also my favorite. Painfully underrated pixie!!
omg i LOVED the tinker bell movies and books i remember laying on my floor and just rereading the art/lore book over and over because i loved the art and world building so much (also off topic but your whole aesthetic is so cute)
Omg,i wouldn't have guessed this was your first video
I enjoyed it a lot as a fairy fan!
i can't wait for more from you 🩷
Wow I’m really surprised by the view count!
I hope we’ll see some more videos from you soon, I have subscribed!
thank you so much for the kind words! hopefully my channel will grow with time 💫
the song in the opening is Hisohkah - school rooftop.
I loved pixie hollow so much, my heart broke when it's shout down): still miss it some days.
This is wonderful!! The editing is fantastic, I was elated upon hearing background music from content I recognized, and you kept me listening the whole video! I can tell you put a lot of effort into this, can't wait to see what you post next!! :)✨
No seriously did I hear some zelda soundtrack music 😝✨
I bought The Trouble With Tink in 6th grade because it was seriously large print with beautiful art, and my grandma had lost most of her vision due to several strokes. I later drew an illustration of Tink based on a page from that book. I taped my version of the illustration into my art/scrapbook.
This is amazing for your first video! There's barely any Tinkerbell content on here and I absolutely love video essays like these!
while I was growing up, I had a little exposure to gen1 fairies.
My favourites from gen1 were Prilla (because I could relate to feeling like something was missing) and Rani (how did i not know i was queer?)
gen2 I remember a lot better, I've seen every movie except the pirate fairy at least twice.
I did that too!!
0:17 Tinkerbell! I love that intro!
omggg, I just finished rewatching all the movies of the franchise and I get this video in my recommandations -kinda scary but i'm not complaining, i needed a deep dive into this universe-.
That would still make the timeline accurate as Wendy would be a very young girl in Gen 1 and then a bit older around the time of Peter Pan
@@alexisforsythe5331 ah, I see. I guess I forget that fairies don't age near as quickly as humans, so 5-6 years for a human doesn't translate equally to a fairy's lifespan.
clubpenguin and poptropica???!!! brings back so many memories. What about maplestory? Who here played neopets lol??? Literally all my childhood.
I played on neopets all the time as a kid until the account got hacked. However I made a new account 2 weeks ago and I'm addicted to it again haha
This hits my nostalgia in a weird way because while I wasnt *into* these movies because I was a little too old, my little sister loved them 🥹
This was a great comprehensive video
OMG u unlocked a memory in my brain…. i LOVED all those disney fairy books and i think i still have them all
I loved this franchise so much as a kid.
I really liked your editing and background music, I hope you keep making videos!
thank you so much!! 💫
oh this was beautiful!! and right up my alley!!
@@strawberrysprite aa thank you, that really helps!! I've got to start keeping an eye out for more cute things to collage with :-p
this is so nostalgic and i just rewatched all the movies, so finding this lovely video feels like fate!! my heart yearns for more movies, i would pay anything for the series to come back
your voice is so pretty you sound like a fairy explaining fairies to us lol
this is the loveliest compliment omg
Your channel is so nostalgic with the Animal Crossing music and LPS and of course the old fairies - got me feeling all sad in a good way
This unlocked so many memories and it's making me tear up. gotta love PMS.
I remember my dad watching the pirate fairy with my mom and I and it just felt so special to have a dad who would watch "girly" things with us
i was actually manifesting that someone would make a video abt the disney fairies so thank you soo much!!
I can’t wait for any other videos you make! This was very calming and interesting to watch ;w;
I wish wish wish the tinker school movie happend ;w; would have been so fun to see more fairy gadget and just explore that whole fairy skill
oh gosh thank you SO much for doing a deep dive into this series!! I cannot stress how much this series is caked in nostalgia for me, particularly the books as I grew up checking out those from the library constantly. I love the movies but I can admit I was disappointed to have re-watched the dvd concept extra you mentioned so often only to find none of the characters from the books in the new movies haha
Bess was a fundamental part of my childhood--she looked just like me and loved art like me and I idolized her. The movies I really loved too though when I watched secret of the wings I felt very strange around Periwinkle and found out 18 years later it was because I had a crush on her and was gay haha oops (similar emotions for the pirate fairy and silvermist--I'm pretty sure Pixie Hollow was many lesbians' gay awakening)
I was also a pixie hollow online user--I used my meager allowance to buy 1 month of membership and it was one of the best months I can remember. In the heyday the site had so many fun features for members with tons of clothing, and when I threw a party at my house I was apparently so nice all the fairies thought I was a mod. I was never the popular girl but I was the IT fairy in pixie hollow online for 1 month and I will take pride in that. Then I just went back to being poor and everyone promptly forgot I existed so it prepared me for the real world I guess
Also finally I only posted 1 fanfiction publicly and it was about about a cleaning fairy with a random sparrowman love interest I made because of compulsive heteronormality. It is lost to the internet cause I deleted it out of embarrassment despite it being as chaste as it gets. Really should've done my closeted self a solid and made one with Periwinkle I stg
Such a good deep dive! Hoping to see more
I remember having a cup featuring Lily, Rani and Beck I think with Tinkerbell obvi. That is about my only experience with gen 1 as a kid. I have recently read one book: Tink, North of Neverland. And personally squealed when I first saw Peter's name appear along with the Lost Boys
My favourite movie is the Great Fairy Rescue.
These movies bring so much comfort
I remember on at least one (maybe two) of the Disney cruise ships they had a Disney Fairy themed area in the Oceaneer's Club (the kids club). Out of all the areas it was probably my favorite because they often had arts and craft things going on and hanging out there is definitely a core memory of mine. Also, Tinkerbell and the legend of the Neverbeast is my favorite movie of the franchise I watched all the time (along with the other movies ofc) when I was younger.
I really wish that we’d gotten a Tink/Peter origin story. I was just biding my time, waiting for it, but so sad they cancelled the whole thing :(
I would watch the Pirate Fairy, RELIGIOUSLY because its the only one where I didn't get secondhand emberassment.
Finally someone who loves Great Fairy Rescue! That one is my favourite too!!
I am only aware this franchise exists because I kept seeing Disney Fairies merch in bargain bins at departments stores.
omg i loved this review! i was born in 2004 and grew up with the tinkerbell movies, and hearing you talk abt the books got me so excited, i’m definitely buying them all now😆. and initially, I thought this video was just gonna be a quick rundown on the lore of the disney faries but this was so in depth! i love the organisation of the videos and how you edited it. i enjoyed it a lot and im excited to see more videos like this, as well as seeing you grow as a channel! keep doin ya thang girliepop😉✨💗
Happy to be here since the beginning 😊❤
i love the lil scrapbook thingie :)) looking forward to more videos :D
