6:11 to add to that, the episode was about SpongeBob not wanting to leave his house, and Patrick and Sandy were running out of time and ideas to persuade SpongeBob to get out, so that must’ve been why they felt the need to meddle with the show directly

Another thing to note is that while stuff like time cards seem to be done in editing, they’re also something the characters can do as shown in Wet Painters where Patrick holds up a “three hours later” sign and says “Can you hurry up? I’m running out of time cards.” So they appear to be a normal thing. More proof of this is how Spongebob does one while mimicking the narrator in Mimic Madness. As for the point of their existence in the fish world, I have no idea. But Patrick doing this for no reason as Spongebob is nervous to paint definitely fits Patrick’s stupidity. Patrick has been shown to be dumb many times, so I doubt he’s in on the show thing. But, if you’ve seen The Theorizer, he theorized that Patrick used to be smart but unplugged his brain like it’s seen in Patrick Smartpants. Not even Barnacle Boy or Mermaid Man told spongebob how to change themselves back to the way they were. It's possible that Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy *didn't know* this either, shrinking themselves down by mistake. Okay but you can't convince me that Sandy *hasn't* grown attached to Bikini Bottom and the people she knows there. I really would love a story like that where she came for the job, but stayed because she actually cares about SpongeBob and co. now
They did that episode already. Sandy was homesick wanted to go back to Texas. Patrick made fun of Texas. Sandy stopped leaving to beat their @$$ and found out that they made her a party to show they love her. So she stayed.
@@pennyproud1621or the "Chimps ahoy"! episode when Sandy thought she will be forced to live Bikini Bottom and she sang a song about how she will miss the town and her friends.
I believe so too. Not to mention, even she is not privy to the lengths they'll go. Remember, she panicked when she saw the gorilla and called him a real gorilla, despite the fact that the gorilla isn't even wearing a helmet, so either she's a great actress or she genuinely didn't see it coming..
What about the episode “Band Geeks” where they literally perform in front of a bunch of humans and Spongebob says “These are some ugly looking fish?” And the episode “The Fish Bowl” is literally about Sandy actively trying to spy on Spongebob and Patrick.
Answer for Band Geeks: It was filmed during a massive sports event like the Super Bowl so more people watch the show. As for The Fish Bowl, I have no idea
I love how as a kid you see all of this and either dont pay to much attention to it or you think Is weird just for being weird and now as adults we can put each piece of the puzzle and get our minds blown
It's mostly because internet video recording wasn't that developed back then, it was all aired on tv so you could miss a chapter or two, plus the order is a mess.
@Harrish Romero the new seasons are made by a different person. The original creator passed away a few years ago. You can tell the difference in the episodes. Now it’s all idiotic comedy that really doesn’t make sense.
I'm convinced that Squidward is aware of the television show, too. In two episodes, he made a reference to the lenth of most episodes (11 minutes) and the reason how he can afford a lot of expensive things despite being poorly paid by Mr. Krabs is because he is already well paid by the production team, which also explains why Spongebob and Patrick aren't living in complete poverty either. That could also be an explanation why Squidward didn't move away, since he has been payed by the production team to stay in Bikini Bottom for entertainment and every attempt of him moving away was sabotaged by the plot
A few points for sandy • she probably taught SpongeBob Karate for self defense in the event she cannot save him • she denies SpongeBob and Patrick from going to the moon with her on the rocket because they have to stay for the show • sandy occasionally becomes homesick and will either need to take breaks or will need a boost to keep going with the show • she never intentionally lets anyone follow her or come with her when she leaves bikini bottom • probably more things it's midnight and I'm operating on half a brain cell
The filmmakers must have interfered with a fake gorilla because spongebob was threatening to never leave his house, which would hurt the longevity of their show. Also if sandy is a spy, it makes sense that she was the character most determined to get spongebob to leave his house.
Honestly, this holy theory is kinda bull...it’s spongebob....of course they’re gonna break the 4th wall, everything else is nothing more than a reference and all these observations are easy to spot and remember....I’m not convinced. Not to mention that a few of these are nothing but speculation, yes it’s a theory, but it’s not really evidence.

ok but can we talk about that one time squidward said “why does every 11 minutes of my life have to be misery” like bruh *he knows how long the show is going ofc he knows he’s on tv*
Hang on… The version of Old Man Jenkins from when Mr Krabs and Plankton were friends was food poisoned, so maybe it made him crazy. And all the different versions of Old Man Jenkins are his hallucinations that we can see as a side effect of his craziness. This also explains why the other characters are so oblivious to this.
i honestly thought this "theory" was just common knowledge. the first episode opens in such a way that anyone who has seen a nature documentary should recognize what trope they're playing on. still a good video.
Also, in The Spongebob Movie: Sponge out of Water, there’s a very brief part in which a baby in a stroller says “Spongebob!” How could that child within the Spongebob universe know the name of this random sea creature? Because Spongebob is the protagonist of this documentary/reality TV series.
Patchy the pirate is head of the Spongebob fanclub in universe. They've always acknowledged the show within a show, but we were too blind to realize it.
6:30 the dvd extra showed the *REJECTED PILOT* and then they pitched it in a more "show like" form. Thats why they have to cover spongebob up. its not a documentary anymore but a kids show and that means censorship of certain details
That could also explain why Sandy was so worried when she couldn't find Spongebob in the episode where she was getting ready for hibernation. I mean, she had the entire town looking for him.
It always confuses me that spongebob and Patrick freeze and become stiff after seeing camera and microphones in that episode. Why do they keep doing that?
this is probably my third time watching this series. that’s how you KNOW it’s good. and like, it’s not just the don’t wake the muse stuff (don’t worry, i am so freaking excited for the next episode and it truly is genius) but the theories themselves are so well done. the amount of effort that went into these, especially the later one. they get to be so insanely far out there yet you still managed to make a convincing case. i absolutely adore this channel/series. it was so genius to use spongebob theories for an ARG. idk if you’ve seen the Analog Horror of Alvin and the Chipmunks (can’t remember the guys name but his channel is awesome), but his videos are awesome as well, although they are not as scary and obviously him trolling. i believe fake theories/documentaries based on nostalgia combined with horror/realism is genius. even though his are very obviously made as a joke, i believe that this “genre” overall is going to be very successful when done well. anyways sorry for rambling, i just love this series and genre so much and am excited to see what else you have to offer in the future, whether you continue with the crazy kids show theories or make more short horror films. keep up the great work!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the narrator sounds like a nature documentary person because the history of the creator of SpongeBob Stephen Hillenberg enjoyed teaching kids about fish and animals and even used SpongeBob originally as sponge boy to teach kids about some things related to fish before SpongeBob as a little comic strip
Frenchy the Narrator is a scuba diver. He is in one modern episode where all of the characters become beasts by a moon. Sandy even says, hello Frenchy. And he is literally watching them and lists off what kind of animal they are and how natural enemies and stuff, not unlike a documentary narrator. Edit: It was mentioned by the end.
The french scientist who talk with Sandy is a reference to the famous french explorer and marine biologist Jean-Yves Cousteau. That’s an interesting point because in his life he really was studying marine creatures so that’s go right for this theory.
Also in the episode "club spongebob", squidward says,"why is every 11 minutes of my life filled with misery", the average spongebob episode is 11 minutes long
What's really crazy is how this theory can be used to explain how Patchy the Pirate exists in the spongebob world and calls himself the show's number one fan at the same time
I’d like to also point out the fact that patchy the pirate is a FAN of spongebob... the TV show, just like all of us. In one episode he even goes as far to ask Nickelodeon to “meet spongebob” but never does (because spongebob doesn’t know he’s in a tv show.) Id also like to say that whenever the gorilla is wearing a Patrick costume, this could mean that the people recording the show could appear AS some of the characters. Maybe this is to add to the story... thanks for reading this lmao
In the Season 3 episode "Clams", there's a part where they're on a ship while SpongeBob is reeling in Mr. Krabs's millionth dollar. Jaws-esque music starts playing, and Mr. Krabs opens a doorway on the ship which reveals an entire (live action) symphony orchestra performing the background music.
@@twohundred8794 no your thinking of the episode where he goes into Mr. Krabs dream and he's reeling in the mighty dollar lol this is the one where he takes squidward and SpongeBob on a clam fishing trip and loses his millionth dollar.
The Sandy part made me remembered that episode where Sandy is literally trying to examine SpongeBob and Patrick's behavior. Whenever the two of them knows that there are camera's, they would stop moving and just stand still. Like they can't function well or something.
The fact that Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy can breathe underwater proves that they somehow have superpowers, as no other Human in the Show breathes underwater. Even Kenny the Cat (a one off Character from later Seasons), who allegedly held his breath for "years" still uses an Oxygen Tank when no one is looking. And if the Humans invented the "breath underwater" Technology, they definitly would've given it to Sandy as well. And don't come to me with Pearl as a counter argument. We don't see her everyday Life. And she is a Sperm Whale, who can hold their Breath for over 100 Minutes at a time. She could easily sometimes swim to take some fresh air or even hold her breath for much MUCH longer (toon physics and all that, Mr Krabs can breath Air as an underwater Crab after all).
One other thing that I feel would have been worth mentioning is that Patchy the Pirate is a fan of the TV show, while also existing in the same world as the show.
You forgot the one thing that really proves this. Patchy! He’s always been the president of the Spongebob fan club! The fact there’s a Spongebob fan club in universe proves this
10:46 i find it interesting how the jellyfish appears, just as they start questioning what a "movie" is. it's almost like "they" control the jellyfish and made it appear, in order to keep them distracted.. and it worked
But was that episode prior to the One when spongebob watched that Robot Movie and thought Mr Krabs was a robot ? he referred to it as a movie and so did squidward . . Spongebob can’t agree that he doesn’t know what a movie is if that episode wasn’t before the Robot Krabs episode . ( i don’t know the real name of the episode )
I think they might be faking not knowing about the reality show since there is a theatre in bikini bottom since people have referred to movies as well before (idk the episode if I did I’d check if there was a movie mention before) it’s quiet strange how if they found out about movies afterwards then how did they get the correct definition of movie
also explains how every time a building gets destroyed in the show its back and intact next scene. The humans must have replacements ready for when it happens
13:00 It's implied something about being in Bikini Bottom helps her develop new ideas, such as Underwater physics. This could work into the theory pretty well, though, as the reason she's down there could be to learn from the fish directly.
There was also an episode where Spongebob is afraid of heights and can't get off of the roof of the Krusty Krab, IT STARTS TO RAIN AND SOME RANDOM CITISEN SAYS: "Huh, rain? But we're underwater!"
Me too, i MYSELF was thinking: what was that episode called again... YET ANY ONE WHO PASSED MY COMMENT JUST REPLIED WITH YES! Now where did i leave that Dum hat from Among Us 4 Android, IOS, PC & Nintendo Switch?
Can we talk about how there are like...4 different Old Man Jenkins?? Like Old Man Jenkins is such a beloved character to the humans that everytime he dies the camera crew just replaces him LOL
Another thing to add, the "gorilla" wears a patrick costume while interacting with others. They (the humans) probably thought that patrick wasn't there, so they found an actor to replace him for the time being. So that means, any fish in the spongebob universe could be replaced with a human in a fish suit. That could also explain the flanderization of certain characters in the recent seasons.
Not so fun fact: In 1951, people from the U.S tested atomic bombs in Bikini Atoll, the location of 23 U.S. nuclear weapons tests during the Cold War era. So the nuke released radioactive waste and that’s how the people of Bikini Bottom could talk.
you're so intelligent at connecting everything, you should also solve real world mysteries that appear in sanskrit text which talk about 9 planets, its called navagraha, earth is not included maybe its because earth is... 🤯🤯🤯
For some reason that gorilla scene is incredibly terrifying to me. I don’t know why it’s just the fact that they are humans or something. It makes everything feel fake.
Another good evidence of this is when in “millionth dollar” episode, Mr krabs is freaking out about the music playing (influenced by the people running the show to make the moment more exciting) and when he finds the orchestra playing it in his boat he doesn’t look surprised, totally knows what they’re trying to do as he is involved with the whole scheme, but none the less begs them to stop so the clam won’t eat his dollar etc..
To add on to Krabs being involved, its possible the filmmakers offered him money, which is why he agreed to help install all the cameras in Bikini Bottom. We know Krabs cares about money more than anything else, so it’s in character for him to do something so wrong for money.
In the Sandy movie on Netflix the dad said that “ain’t that the town you were spying on” sandy tried to cover it up you were right all along Alex! Edit: oh crap Sandy is innocent
12:19 him saying all that Me no it can’t be, Sandy Cheeks? Also 14:27 when I was a kid and she calls that guy I didn’t notice but now cause of this vids I did
The narrator is Tom Kenny. Tom Kenny is the voice actor who plays SpongeBob as well as Patchy The Pirate and other characters. He also does the voice acting for Ice King in Adventure Time.
Could this theory also explain why so many fishes in this series have fake appendages and skins? For those unaware, I'm talking about Doug Woolever's SpongeBob Skin Theory. So many characters in this show are shown wearing fake skins. Squidward was once asked by SpongeBob to wear a realistic looking lobster costume that looks horrifying. Heck, in episode 'Imitation Krabs', SpongeBob unintentionally unmasks a random customer trying to reveal Plankton, and the shocked customer says 'Everyone at the head enhancement clinic said nobody would notice' before running away crying. He literally says clinic. Not costume shop, not cosplay, but clinic. He even specifies head enhancement. And seriously, his real head looks different from the rest of his body. In my opinion, I believe that the television producers have actually set up a complex costume shop/hospital for Bikini Bottom as another method of keeping the show relevant without our favorite porous sponge and company's knowledge. And why not? It's a good running gag, just one that has some dark implications depending on who you ask..
It's worth to mention that, as far as I remember, Sandy also has shrinking technology, and even life action humans, like the French Narrator did change size from normal human to the size that allowed him to film spongebob's driving test and also to be hit by the boat, so maybe that's another reason why size varies when it comes to human characters
you forgot the part why is it called the "bikini bottom" because it was named after the U.S. Army's nuclear test site on the pacific called the bikini atoll. this fact ads more credibility to your theory as scientist would be very likely want to study the "mutated" creatures in bikini bottom for scientific purposes and further the development of the nuclear weapons.
@@haashimnisar431 who knows, in the spongebob universe maybe the US army invented a device that would clean up the nuclear bombardment aftermath. edit: maybe there was a war between them and humans. and the nuclear bombing signals the bikini bottom's defeat. this result in mass brain washing erasing the deadly history. thus allowing peace under the constant surveillance and monitoring of humans. kind of a police state. there's a recurring gag that mr krabs was suffering ptsd because he lost his crew and officer in the war although it was unclear which war he fought. its been said numerous in some of the episode times that mr. krabs served in the navy. in season 3 episode 50b the narrator says: *"After the war, Krabs stayed secluded in a deep depression that seemed endless."* in a rumored ama with some of the production team. they jokingly said that mr. krabs fought the Russian navy or have been deployed in Vietnam. most likely this is not canon and can never be confirmed. but, it doesn't change the fact that they alluded that mr. krabs fought humans before. mr. krabs says that he's a cook sometimes a sailor, (his claim change every time whenever he talks about his role in the war). the inaccuracy of mr. krabs claim of what his role in the war was probably he was under a non disclosure agreement because they were defeated and had to abide to something called "victor's justice". and it was classified. and if he talks about the truth it could have serious consequence for him. in 2004 SpongeBob movie, it was revealed that the bikini bottom and the human world was separated by a lawless seabed, deadly trench filled with beasts and finally, the the part near the shoreline where human divers hunts sea creatures (the closer to the human world the more dangerous for sea creature it become). this act as a barrier to keep the citizens of the bikini bottom from finding out the truth.
I think there's a lot more to the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy theory. In season 3 episode 5, Mermaid Man says near the end of the episode that "We've been shrinking for years" and Barnacle Boy responds by saying "But this is ridiculous". This is after Spongebob uses the shrink ray on them I think there is some other factor that makes them grow smaller, not the shrink ray and this could be tied to Mermaid man's PTSD and dementia.
Little note: the characters are also depicted as realistic when on land. The one episode where they go over the water to show sandy that they can. But are those just puppets like the seagulls in the scene? Was it completely staged?
That was after the dolphin Bubbles made them magically able to breath on land. Also in the first movie when they are wet they look like they normally do.
Maybe when Spongebob and friends walked into the surface, the show people were unable to get footage. So they just quickly and cheaply threw something together with puppets.
Alex bale, this theory is true. We have one character that just proves this to be true. Patchy the pirate. He finds the one hidden episode, he has spongebob merchandise, and even goes looking for him in one of the specials while hosting an event for him.
11:47 that goes together soo well with skin theory and the ''actors'' that could be using costumes and why there are costumes and stuff and disgues people so it makes more sense than just an act for entertainment like its actually underwater not like THCC says
Well I'm pretty sure the dancing anemone was at least somewhat meant to portray porn in a child friendly way. Just look at the excitement in SpongeBob's eyes and his reaction when he's caught by Gary. So the anemone wasn't human obviously, but it doesn't necessarily contradict TV theory either
"Television Theory" is an eloquently put theory that deserves to get a lot of publicity by the internet. Not too long ago I was thinking about why the french narrator of Spongebob, Hans, progressively becomes more and more relevant to the show. In this theory, I didn't realize the minor details they put for Hans.
@@miguelpescado yes but it is still canon That sandy has the number of the guy confirms the theory that that they all are radioactively mutated sea creatures and sandy works with humans to document them (look it up for more info)
Actually in "Mimicry Madness" Sponge Bob did mimic not just a card but Frenchie himself... Not to forget in the newest anniversary, Sponge Bob and the rest of the fish are sorta aware of Frenchie as Sponge Bob literally thanked him when they wanted to go to the surface.
Damn right at the start “secret group of puppet masters” showing black tentacles. I didn’t realize the ARG was planned even this far back. I assumed the success of the first couple SpongeBob theories gave him the idea to use the new audience for his story.

She stayed cuz spongebob clapped those sandy cheeks
What about the episode “Band Geeks” where they literally perform in front of a bunch of humans and Spongebob says “These are some ugly looking fish?” And the episode “The Fish Bowl” is literally about Sandy actively trying to spy on Spongebob and Patrick.

A few points for sandy
• she probably taught SpongeBob Karate for self defense in the event she cannot save him
• she denies SpongeBob and Patrick from going to the moon with her on the rocket because they have to stay for the show
• sandy occasionally becomes homesick and will either need to take breaks or will need a boost to keep going with the show
• she never intentionally lets anyone follow her or come with her when she leaves bikini bottom
• probably more things it's midnight and I'm operating on half a brain cell

Well there is an episode where sandy camps out with pearl, mrs puff, etc. outside of bikini bottom
the reason y she's so good at karate is because as a secret spy, she needs to now some form of martial arts for defense purposes
Also in kamp coral she told past her but time travel
Did someone else laugh at Alex mentioning Sandy nonchalantly while calling Mr. Krabs 'cheat lying bastard' XD
The filmmakers must have interfered with a fake gorilla because spongebob was threatening to never leave his house, which would hurt the longevity of their show. Also if sandy is a spy, it makes sense that she was the character most determined to get spongebob to leave his house.

It's worth to mention that, as far as I remember, Sandy also has shrinking technology, and even life action humans, like the French Narrator did change size from normal human to the size that allowed him to film spongebob's driving test and also to be hit by the boat, so maybe that's another reason why size varies when it comes to human characters

there's a recurring gag that mr krabs was suffering ptsd because he lost his crew and officer in the war although it was unclear which war he fought. its been said numerous in some of the episode times that mr. krabs served in the navy. in season 3 episode 50b the narrator says: *"After the war, Krabs stayed secluded in a deep depression that seemed endless."* in a rumored ama with some of the production team. they jokingly said that mr. krabs fought the Russian navy or have been deployed in Vietnam. most likely this is not canon and can never be confirmed. but, it doesn't change the fact that they alluded that mr. krabs fought humans before.
mr. krabs says that he's a cook sometimes a sailor, (his claim change every time whenever he talks about his role in the war). the inaccuracy of mr. krabs claim of what his role in the war was probably he was under a non disclosure agreement because they were defeated and had to abide to something called "victor's justice". and it was classified. and if he talks about the truth it could have serious consequence for him.
in 2004 SpongeBob movie, it was revealed that the bikini bottom and the human world was separated by a lawless seabed, deadly trench filled with beasts and finally, the the part near the shoreline where human divers hunts sea creatures (the closer to the human world the more dangerous for sea creature it become). this act as a barrier to keep the citizens of the bikini bottom from finding out the truth.
this show is fucked up , i just came for nostalgia and i came across this videos
That also explains a lot of the stranger metal building throughout bikini bottom
That's a whole other theory that isn't apart of this one
I think there's a lot more to the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy theory. In season 3 episode 5, Mermaid Man says near the end of the episode that "We've been shrinking for years" and Barnacle Boy responds by saying "But this is ridiculous". This is after Spongebob uses the shrink ray on them I think there is some other factor that makes them grow smaller, not the shrink ray and this could be tied to Mermaid man's PTSD and dementia.
I wish Stephen Hillenburg was still alive to see the great theories.
Mhmm
Wait? He died? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I’m really sad
@@Julia33066 Mhm. Now they made a patrick show, which is just disgusting to me. So when a "main character" dies irl they move onto the next one? 😐
@@carrotsarenice8096 that show is so trash
Ikr.
@@icecreamhero2375 he's talking about the Land Creatures vs Sea Creatures episode
Don’t forget the dancing anemone
@@callmeaweeb4169 Oh?
Maybe when Spongebob and friends walked into the surface, the show people were unable to get footage. So they just quickly and cheaply threw something together with puppets.
Alex bale, this theory is true. We have one character that just proves this to be true. Patchy the pirate. He finds the one hidden episode, he has spongebob merchandise, and even goes looking for him in one of the specials while hosting an event for him.
I FORGOT ABOUT THIS UNTIL I SAW YOUR COMMENT. OMFG.
and hes even the actual voice actor of spongebob irl
@@XxYERMOM123xX tbf so is the french narrator
Yeah this isn't exactly a theory. It's just a gimmick. A really good one though
Who are you?
11:47 that goes together soo well with skin theory and the ''actors'' that could be using costumes and why there are costumes and stuff and disgues people so it makes more sense than just an act for entertainment like its actually underwater not like THCC says
“The only time we see live action characters is when they are humans”
Does... does this mean the dancing anemone was a human? 😳
Underrated
SHDHDJDHJK
"GARY!!"
Yes it was just highly edited and modified cgi. Quite impressive they were able to afford it back then.
“I believe that the gorilla and the horse he rides away on are humans in costumes.”
As opposed to...?
Does anyone else notice that the Gorilla is actually Frank Welker?

"Television Theory" is an eloquently put theory that deserves to get a lot of publicity by the internet.
Not too long ago I was thinking about why the french narrator of Spongebob, Hans, progressively becomes more and more relevant to the show. In this theory, I didn't realize the minor details they put for Hans.
@@hansf.6463 I think Hans is just a pun from Hands.
*HANS GET ZE FLAMMENWERFER*
@@hansf.6463 Hans is Also a common German name
Actually, the name of the French narrator is Jean-Michel Cousteau. If Hans was a French name, it would be pronounced something like "Ons".
This guy predicted the plot of Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie three years in advanced.
We do actually see the narrator interact with characters in the show
Yes, but only way later in the show
@@miguelpescado yes but it is still canon
That sandy has the number of the guy confirms the theory that that they all are radioactively mutated sea creatures and sandy works with humans to document them (look it up for more info)
alex pointed it out in this theory
It doesn't really break the theory as long as the characters don't know that the narrator is part of a TV show.
But we ain't gonna talk about who really left the bowl of onions in front of squidward

Damn right at the start “secret group of puppet masters” showing black tentacles. I didn’t realize the ARG was planned even this far back. I assumed the success of the first couple SpongeBob theories gave him the idea to use the new audience for his story.
