OMG she even gives us all the references of the studies she talked about so we can go deeper into it if we want! What a professionalism and hard work every day. Thank you Dr Dray for all the time you spend for us. I am grateful.
I LOVE that she provides references, not only is it backed so we can verify it but it allows for me to build knowledge for my own interest and purposes too
As a dietician, I love that you’ve addressed nutrition w/ specificity to dermatology. I wish that practitioners of all health concentrations would emphasize its importance! Thank you Dr Dray 😊
LMAO when you said “...coffee drinkers might have a lower risk of melanoma...” I immediate thought YEAH cause we walk faster through the sun and get inside faster LOL we be speed walking!
You are so right about the sugar. I recently started a new job and everywhere I looked there was chocolate and candy which made it hard to resist. My skin looked terrible so I immediately stopped eating it. It's been hard work getting my skin back to normal. Sugar is very bad!
Yes, I would always have dry, wrinkly skin after eating sugar, which would last for days... I have since limited myself to 1 dessert per month, and 1 teaspoon of sweetener per day maximum.
There are literally racists and nazis on social media, and gurus who literally make millions going after your insecurities and will try to squeeze their young fan base for every penny they’ve got but somehow ppl find successful women, who do cute vlogs, drink from Totoro mugs and interpret medical journals for the gen public threatening. What a world.
Sometimes I get here early enough to see some nasty comments. Dr Dray takes the diplomatic approach so this will be my one and only comment about them too.
I find your comment interesting and I know enough not to make a big deal of it but I just wanted to say that I love and support Dr Dray. Girl, you rock.

OMG- I was thinking yesterday ‘I wonder if Dr Dray will release a video on particular foods for anti aging’ LOL!! Thanks for the video ❤️ I’m psychic now!
Omgoodness...you know your stuff...again, I listen to you as if I’m watching a module for my thesis..:) thanks for higher education information without the price tag. ;)
Exactly what I say! Harvard Medical education minus the tuition. I relay her information and my husband asks me if I'm reading medical journals. No I say, I follow Dr. Dray hee hee.
Thanks Dr Dray. We still have a problem with categorising foods as when I say “plant-based diet” people ask where I get protein from. The concept of what people think as “carbs” excludes protein. Blow someone’s mind by telling them that a potato contains protein. 💋
I find it interesting considering how popular supplements are, that there hasn’t been a push for FDA to begin regulating them. Big government aside, something non biased such as Consumer Reports, but solely for supplement would be so helpful! Someone get on that! lol
From what I have observed, food isn't the reason people have wrinkles (except for those working in the sun). One's genes are a good indicator of what a person will look like as they age. Look at my picture. I just turned 65. No wrinkles. My grandmother told my sister and me to keep some fat on our faces so we won't have wrinkles; I obliged. So many of the Italian ladies in my town have beautiful skin and no wrinkles and some are in their 80s and 90s. Of course here, lots of olive oil is used in their diet so that would be an exception to my first statement. What your grandmother and mother look like, so will the third generation.
Great video today! I wanted to tell you that you've instilled in me the habit of applying daily sunscreen no matter the weather. It will be rainy and overcast all day but I still applied my Elta MD tinted sunscreen. I like it because it helps even out my skin tone, as well as protect my skin.
I would say that eating healthy for me is to reduce the risk of disease. If we can add something to help our skin and its wrinkles, so much the better. My physical health (cause of illness) is more important to me. But since I started taking care of my skin, a little too late in my case, but hey, they say there is no age limit to do it right, I find it very rewarding. I follow your advice wisely and I see significant results already. Thank you! Happy Vlogmas 5!
Yesss! This is the Vlog for me! How did you know lol but seriously Dr. Dray I just want to say thank you for all your time you put into these vlogs You have taught me so much Have a wonderful day! 💚❤️💚
My mom & dad have eaten potatoes + some kind of vegetable + some kind of meat all their life, and I have too. They are both 72 right now. No fast food, no eating out. Just a healthy breakfast (sandwiches or yogurt or cottage cheese), healthy lunch (soup / sandwiches) and a decent dinner. This type of diet has been in my family for centuries. Of course we are coffee drinkers; all of us! Big time. Not that that's gonna change. ;)
Recent studies have shown that coffee raises cholesterol kind of significantly unless it is filtered through a paper filter. So espresso/french press coffee could be problematic. Apart from that, some studies have shown that it impairs arterial function somewhat after consumption, whereas decaf coffee does not. Great video Dr. Dray. I do believe that aging plays a Hugh factor on genetics!!! I also believe that life style has alot to do with it also. Low stress, sleeping well, exercise, and eating whole foods and also taking time time out of our day to have some me time to meditate or nap or taking a warm bath which comes down to self love makes a big difference.❤️
Jackie Marsh Aw yours too Jackie 🤗🤗🐾 We’ve had a couple of stressful days as one of the dogs has a lump but fingers crossed it appears to not be suspicious, hopefully Friday we’ll know definitely xx
I just started burning my first Tuscany candle! I bought one at Kroger’s Black Friday sale. I value and trust your recommendations for dermatology, so why not trust your candle prowess too, lol. I’m so impressed with how this candle scents multiple rooms. I knew it was a winner when I could smell it throughout my living room within only a few minutes. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! 😂
How about a video on the effects of stress on the skin and how to combat that? As much as I love me some Christmas time, it can be very stress full for some? Cheers!
Dr.Dray thank you so much for this video. 😀💖If I really can't have coffee because I am extremely sensitive (get the shakes and can't sleep for 3 days). Can I just drink Matcha and it will give me the benefits of photoaging? (Matcha does not make me feel sensitive just makes me calm).
Do you use the Cerave Diabetic Skin Relief? I have purchased practically every Cerave product out there because of you, and the Diabetic Skin Relief is phenomenal! I also use two sunscreens daily because of you, and I am taking photos to see how my melasma is over the next year. Thank you for your sound and practical advice. I am a skincare addict with a biology and nursing degree, and while I subscribe to so many youtubers, sometimes the things they say are so silly and without any basis in fact. You are awesome!
I apply sunscreen on myself and my older children faithfully and diligently. What I would love to hear you address is this, what would be prudent and advisable for applying sunscreen for babies. Obviously if they will be outside in the sun they should be covered, wearing a hat, and sunscreen, but what about on a daily basis? Should the baby have sunscreen applied from going to and from the car or for being indoors and incidental sun exposure. Also, I know there are some concerns with babies under 6 months and sunscreen. This is confusing because there are very good zinc-based sunscreen and this active ingredient is found in many diaper creams recommended for babies. Any insight and clarification on babies and our little ones would be much appreciated.
Hi Dr. Dray! I love your videos and I learn so much. I suffer with dry under eyes and fine lines that concealer always magnifies. Can you please do a video on Ulta or Sephora eye creams??
LauraDsFaceBeats she usually recommends vaseline for dry under eyes. Not ideal for under makeup, but you can do it at nighttime. I have dry under eyes too, plus dark circles (hereditary plus super pale skin) and I've learned to skip concealer bc it worsens everything. I do use an eye cream for day though as not to have vaseline destroy my eye liner and mascara. It's the Belif Moisturizering Eye Bomb and I loooove it. Dr. D would say no bc of fragrance, but it's the only one I've ever had that actually moisturizes. It totally hydrates, sinks right in, and accepts makeup beautifully if you choose to put it under your eyes.
I’ve been loving your channel since I’ve found it and I hope you can answer my question. Do you have any advice on getting rid of hyper pigmentation on dark skin around the mouth not resulting from bumps? I’ve had it for as long as I can remember
so educational video! you are so wise! just one question, the glucose and sugar causes glycosylation of collagen, the carbohydrates do the same thing? I mean the carbohydrates could cause glycosylation of collagen too?
Thank you so much to help me understand the science behind the foods. It's nice to know that you're no anti-carnivores. Some people are ruthless. I'm on a mainly vegetarian diet which I love and is good to know that what I'm eating is beneficial. But like you if someone tries to seperate me from my coffee they will get a Kung Fu chop!
I always watch your videos with my boyfriend, he and I loooove watching your vlogs and have learned so much for skin care. As someone who suffered from some acne, hyperpigmentation, and eczema, my skin is doing so much better with your tips. Only issue I still have is my eczema flare ups throughout this winter weather :/ currently using Eucrisa though!
OMG...You look lovely with long hair ❤️ I miss you so much as I was super busy last few months, no time for UA-cam 😂 thanks for such an informative video 😊
Loving your vlogmas videos! And I have a request for a review on sensai kanebo skincare products:):) I am considering investing in some of their products but they are pretty expensive (at least here in Norway) and I pretty much only trust your advice here on UA-cam! Thank you for all your informative videos, they have really helped me. Love from Norway:):)
Of all of the hundreds of lotions and creams I've bought, this just might be the most effective. You still need to use a moisturizer over the top, this just makes it absorb more. In the short time I've been using, I have noticed a huge difference in my sun spots and a slight difference in my wrinkles. I highly recommend this Argan Rain %100 Pure Argan Oil product.
Thanks for this video, Dr. Dray. Is there a difference between the ORAC values of regular green tea and decaf green tea 🍵 (same question for coffee ☕️)?
It is so hard to trust these types of studies on humans. The best design would of course involve twins with the same lifestyle to control for the effects of genetics and environmental variables. At any rate, a plant-based diet low in processed food is good for other health purposes other than skin health, and being generally healthy seems to translate to having healthy skin from what I can observe. Unfortunately genetics plays a heavy component in aging, and there is nothing you can do to change your genetics.
Genetics of course is one of the most important factors but....even genetics supported by a healthy style of life can surprised you. Anyway taking in count we arent identical clones of nobody in our family you cant be a 100 % sure how much your genetic will be affecting your aging. Probabilities dont mean its granted. Im not a vegetarian or vegan....even a health care obseced but some facts are just undeniable. Have a nice day!!!
Rocio Vichot I understand how genetics work. A healthy lifestyle and wearing sunscreen is important as I had already expressed. However, two people following an equally healthy lifestyle may get different anti-aging results due to their genetics.
I agree about coffee ! I’ve went off coffee for different reasons to see if it would help medical issues and I never got better and also never got over my longing for the stuff🙁I love coffee 😋🥰your young so you might not remember the ad “ the best part of waking up is folders in your cup” 👍best ad ever ! I’ve seen first hand in my life family members that eat a lot of sugar and I think it is more ageing
What about time restricted eating and fasting? There is a lot of reasearch about the biological effects of these protocols. The research of Dr satchin Panda for example.
HI dr dray ,your videos are very very very helpful,i have a question, should we avoid all kinds of sugars, even sweet fruits like date and banana???what about other sweeteners like stevia, brown sugar ,etc?????❤️
Dr. Dray! Thank you for this video! :) I was wondering-you talked about how cooking at a high temperature ages....what is the maximum temperature you would recommend to cook at?
You look Great Dr...and zomg thanks for this video...i eat alot of protein and veggies ...few unhealthy foods .and Stress and moderate exrcise is important..also Vitamin D very important for skin and mood
You are incredibly informative, Dr. Dray! I have one skin concern that is plaguing me. In spite of the fact that I take excellent care of my skin and am diligent with the spf. My concern is regarding hyperplasia. Hard clear bumps that have appeared on my skin over the last five years. They are sticking around much to my dismay. Any thoughts?
I love love love your videos and listen to them (on repeat!) in the car, waiting for my sons while they’re in sports practices, and while traveling! You’ve helped me a lot to be more aware and smart about making the right choices. Thank you for being generous and sharing your time and knowledge with us! 🙌🏻❤️ Btw, any chance you can do a review or comment on the apparently cult fave Biologique Recherche line - specifically the P50 lotions?
Dr. Dray...I follow all your videos...they are awesome and I've learned a lot! Could you do a video on: I have these baggy pockets above the corner of my eye, below my eyebrows. It's like in the very corner of the upper lid. Seems to have something to do with sleeping because some days I have these swollen pockets and other days I don't. How do you get rid of these annoying areas. I've tried everything. Thank you.
I believe high sugar diet isn't good for anyone, it's very additive! I do well 80 % of the time, but it's so good and this time of year... UGH Sweets everywhere.... I'm doomed right now .lol
Have you been to target and seen there want to be fit fab boxes but full of face mask body face products then go by suitcase section and it’s the jewelry umbrella etc it was a little bothering and shocking but thought you would be interested in face box .
It’s so refreshing to follow an intellectual vlogger. It’s nice to listen to some well thought out content rather than the usual crap from vapid twits that makes its way on to UA-cam.
Hey Dr.Dray I have a question that hopefully you can answer. I have been using differin for about 3 months now and I have notice a very small improvement in my acne. However I am still getting acne I understand I takes a year to see results however can I use Zapzyt while using differin? If so should differin be used first then zapzyt or the other way around thanks!

Is there any information on the consumption of gluten as being related to accelerated aging?
no
Of all of the hundreds of lotions and creams I've bought, this just might be the most effective.
Hey Dr.Dray !!!Thank you for the information on your channel! Could you do a video on melanin pills? is it safe/unsafe?
Thank you for another helpful video!!!!
thanks for watching
I am not that young, lol! Yes I remember that commercial well and it hit the nail on the head
Wow u look so different now (in a good way of course)
I think so too.
thanks

What about time restricted eating and fasting?
There is a lot of reasearch about the biological effects of these protocols. The research of Dr satchin Panda for example.
This was a great topic and good information 🥰
Thanks for watching
HI dr dray ,your videos are very very very helpful,i have a question, should we avoid all kinds of sugars, even sweet fruits like date and banana???what about other sweeteners like stevia, brown sugar ,etc?????❤️
Romina Atashrazm She puts Stevia in everything, so you're alright w at least that one lol
@bogey Bognar thank you very much, you mean fruit juices with added sugar or even 100% natural fruit juice as it does not contain enough fiber?????
Hi. Dr. Dray ! Another great video ! 😀😘🇨🇦
thanks!
Great video!
thanks!
Hi Dr Dray, hope all is well 😊, I have a quick question, what do you think about vitamin E for wrinkles and dark circles around the eyes.
I have a question Dr Dray, what is the difference in performance between a sunscreen and sunblock? which one is better? or are they interchangeable?
more or less interchangeable, though some use the term sunblock to denote mineral sunscreen
you are a wealth of knowledge
Where do you get your tuscany candles? :)
kroger
hey dr Dray I have a request if you can do a video on Cetaphil products like the cleansers and lotions that would be of great help
Dr. Dray! Thank you for this video! :) I was wondering-you talked about how cooking at a high temperature ages....what is the maximum temperature you would recommend to cook at?
What about air fried foods?
You look Great Dr...and zomg thanks for this video...i eat alot of protein and veggies ...few unhealthy foods .and Stress and moderate exrcise is important..also Vitamin D very important for skin and mood
Thanks! Hope you are having a good week
🙌🏻❤️
Btw, any chance you can do a review or comment on the apparently cult fave Biologique Recherche line - specifically the P50 lotions?
Thank you.
Can you please review Volufiline? ❤❤
Hi dr Dray. Enjoyed very much! Very useful video (as always). You look beautiful! Have a good evening!
Thank you so much & Happy Vlogmas Day 5 🎄
I believe high sugar diet isn't good for anyone, it's very additive! I do well 80 % of the time, but it's so good and this time of year... UGH
Sweets everywhere.... I'm doomed right now .lol
hard to resist
Have you been to target and seen there want to be fit fab boxes but full of face mask body face products then go by suitcase section and it’s the jewelry umbrella etc it was a little bothering and shocking but thought you would be interested in face box .
Hi Dr, love watching your vids.
I shared this with my husband in hopes that he can eat more plant based diet foods that doesn't require meat each and every time. I hope he listens 🤞🤞
Lindi I hope you have a Day filled with Happiness and love!! Much Love Always Sweet Friend!
hi jackie, hope your day went great 🍒🍵🧣☃️🛍
It’s so refreshing to follow an intellectual vlogger.
If so should differin be used first then zapzyt or the other way around thanks!
you look fab with long hair.
Thanks!
