Bought it as soon as it was available on switch, this game looks amazing and team cherry honestly deserves the support. Indie developers giving us one update after the other for free, AAA companies can still learn a thing or two from these guys.

Hollow knight would be perfect for smash
-Side B is Shade soul
-Down B is Descending Darkness
-Normal B is the spiraling slash
-Up B is Monarch Wings
-Dashing could be Shade Cloak
-Final Smash could be dream Nail
-He could be a light weight character
-He could wall bounce
Proof he is perfect for smash
Maybe not dream nail... maybe summoning siblings or knight's shell cracking and him becoming one with the shadelord

Perhaps his double jump would be monarch wings. He won’t have a recovery up b similar to jigglypuff. But the double jump would be floatier
@@ItsFlatMan Wouldn't work. Only two jump, with your only means to get back being "i have a second jump but its floatier" youll die. Edgeguard- dead. he'd be one of the worst character, off stage- dead. He needs a up b recovery

Masterpiece. The music, the story, the graphics, the gameplay, the dark and depressing themes of the game. Everything is just God Tier.
Greatest Metroidvania of all time. Hard for me to say anything is better than Super Metroid, but this game is the one that finally took the crown.

This isn't one of those that people like to label as a Metroidvania when it isn't really. This game **IS** a Metroidvania, and it's in my top 3.
If you're on the fence, but you like Metroidvanias, you'll want to experience this one fresh.

@@manywaystodolife Super Mstroid, Castlevania SOTN, Ori and the Blind Forst/Will of the Wisps, Metroid Zero Mission, Guacamelee 1/2 and a few others. Though I would agree Hollow Knight stands on top

It is fascinating to see how they changed the names of the pantheons. "Pantheon of Stone" while also having Paint master Sheo as the first pantheon's final boss. I knew he was too easy!
They really hit the nail in the head with this game I just played it for the first time recently since it was free on PlayStation this month and I have never played a side scrolling game before besides Mario when I was a kid but this game is great I love the challenge I beat the trial of the fool and now I am trying my luck with the nightmare king grimm and the pantheons.
Hollow Knight! This is one of my favorite Indie games ever. It reminds me of Undertale and Child of Light in the art style, and in the fact that it is a high fantasy game, set underground, where light plays an important factor in fighting fantastical monsters. I'm so glad it's available on the Switch now.
Bought this for myself, and before I knew it, my brother finished it before me! Congrats to Team Cherry for such a creepy but cute game.
I got it, played it for two days straight, and beat it. I absolutely recommend it to any fan of 2d Metroid style games. It is brutally difficult sometimes, though, so be warned.
It took me 2 weeks to get bad ending, how much did you play?

Love that Nintendo keeps showing off indies with the respect they deserve, just like any other release. I'm sure it bothers the people who like to parrot drivel about how they're not "real games."

Why would it not be special? It's not like Metroid or Castlevania became uninteresting after their first games. But if the devs themselves don't feel like doing a sequel, no big deal. I would also be happy with other ideas from them, for sure. I just wish they didn't let this character and his world die in a single game.

Carlos André Reis If they were to make another game,I think they would explore the civilization that came before hallownest,or maybe they could build on how the radiance being destroyed affected the world of Hollow Knight
Given what we know about the world of Hollow Knight, Radiance's defeat would most likely see the fallen kingdom of Hallownest finally find rest and peace, with its few living inhabitants going about their lives until they too pass.

Ugh I love this game. It brings the sweet spot that Castlevania and Binding of Isaac brought. It’s a reward to play through, I love rerunning this game.
I saw this game and was like "this looks cool" and after watching this video I bought the game and now waiting for it to download and just enjoy the game

Ah yes, I remember playing this for the first time. I didn't know what it was, but played it nonetheless.
I soon got intrigued, then got invested. I soon fell in love with the game I still play to this day.
With about 30+ hours of play time and at 110% completion.
And all because it was my little brothers birthday present.
How good is this game? I've heard GOOOOOOOOD stuff about it
ElijahDawgOne It's GOOD, BUY IT., It's like the best indie i played last year: not too long, good gameplay, good mechanics, great content, music, bosses... everything is just really well done to be a SMALL studio, you will enjoy it.

AnisK Celeste is about hard platforming. This is more about exploring and challenging bosses. But there's a certain challenging platforming area. The game's at least 20 hours on your first playthrough without guides.

I think nintendo should make a game where you play as your mii and you play online with other players as miis and play mini games that seems like a good idea

It's diifferent.
Both are very good games.
Shovel knight is very linear and not that challenging unless your on new game plus or destroy all the check points, while hollow knight involves much more exploration, back tracking and is much more challenging as there are less upgrades that nearly break the game. Instead you have to actually get much better if you want to progress and see everything the game has to offer. Hollow Knight is also much longer than any given campaign in Shovel Knight, but when you add up the eventual 4 unique campaigns in Shovel Knight that are all free I think Shovel Knight will have the longer play time. Overall I’d say Hollow Knight is superior coming from someone who loves metroidvanias and straight up platformers almost equally. Hollow Knight offers a more rewarding challenge, a better art style and a great sense of exploration and progression that is unpredictable compared to the more basic and almost bare bones Shovel Knight. Both are great, but go with Hollow Knight first if your budget is limited, it’s cheaper as well.
IMO I say hollow Knight is better cuz its only 15$ and 3 free dlc (I don't want to spoil you just play it kind hard but you will like it. That what she said)

no, seriusly, this holly game is fantastic, the main character, the bosses even the sellers are great characters!
i never play Metroidvanias since i met Hollow Knight, and now is one of my favorites games, magical soundtrack, fair and challenging boss fights and a story that was written in all the map and places to find and explore, finding charms and geos all the way, fighting hard enemies (Dam Deepnest) and listen the life of the bugs you find in your adventure

weird how in this build they intentionally didn’t have the upgraded spells or dashes, but that may just be team cherrys way to avoid spoilers at that time.

Even if they're great and popular, like celeste has a 90+ metacritic score and has never left the best sellers tab in the eshop since its release, but it's never been released physically!

I hope this is good.... I don’t like my games “dark souls hard” but I do like a challenge
Hollow Knight is amazing, while no boss can one shot you (as Dark Souls' creatures sometimes can (at most a boss will only deal 2 masks of damage instead of one) they all have unique patterns, speeds, and attacks that you must learn.
It's tough, but fair.
Except the large jellyfish. Screw those guys.
Dark Souls isn't even that hard. And honestly neither is Hollow Knight. Very simple games with super easy dodge abilities. They are more about patience than skill.
