OK so for anyone curious about if we do get to keep shulk and fiora as blades you do get them but you need an item from the nopon sage as explained in the video, until you get that item they are only usable in challenge battle mode

Note well, make sure you are not maxed out on accessories or aux cores or anything. If you are anything you collect will be lost. Just sell off the excess. The max accessories you can have in the inventory list is 800 I believe. They add up really fast during gameplay though.

Did you ever get an answer? Ys VIII is an amazing adventure, though it felt a bit like a metroidvania for me where you're unlocking more segments and doing some backtracking.
XC2 is a massive open world game that IMO feels more like a single player mmorpg, massive, large scale, tons to do, and an excellent story.
As a long time Y's fan, I prefer XC2

Why in the world is Fiora a Healer Type? That doesn't match her actual playstyle in the original game...Furthermore, her moves don't even match her original ones.
probably because the dual blades weapon type was already an existing healer weapon in XB2 so they just gave her that to save time.

I’m feeling really angry right now, I can’t access Challenge Mode even after getting the expansion pass, claiming the items in Uraya, and I’m in chapter 4! I feel like my moneys wasted since this was the main reason I bought the pass.

so not only is this games art style/character design awful but the voice acting is atrocious as well.
AnarickTheDevil Strongly disagree. I think the voice acting is pretty good, just nothing great, and the artstyle is lovely. Characters are very expressive and it's great.
