I tried foundation 1. I bought the ingredients posted, followed the directions and found that it does not work. It clumps in mixing bowl and when applied with a makeup brush makes a mess. I tried making it a liquid by adding more almond oil and it turned a dark chocolate color and would not spread on face. It made patched sections on my skin and felt more like a facial sugar scrub.
+barbara cordero I just tried this following her exact instruction for the foundation with cornstarch, cocoa powder, cinnamon powder, almond oil and jojoba oil. It DID NOT work at all. First of all it was the color of dark chocolate. I'm not African so this is waaaaay too dark for me. Then I tried to fix it by adding more cornstarch and almond oil. I still couldn't get it to be any lighter in color. But the bigger problem is the texture...I could see the cinnamon powder grains in the foundation. This is not even close to being a make-up foundation. Such as waste of good ingredients. And these oils aren't cheap, so its a waste of good money too.
+Sugarbunny Its terrible when people post things that clearly don't work. I'm now noticing she has lots of comments saying this didn't work. I wish I had read all the comments before I tried her formula. She should really remove this video to keep others from wasting their time and money.
The trick is to use less than half of the cocoa powder and none of the oils. We're not baking a chocolate cake here to create a paste consistency lol. You can add turmeric or sandalwood to create a golden undertone too. The cornstarch absorbs oils so it's ridiculous to add oils into this recipe. This is a powder foundation. Plenty of other youtube videos do the recipe correctly. I would guess 1 spoon cornstarch, 1/4 tsp cocoa powder, and 1/4 tsp of turmeric or sandalwood powder. Mix together and use a large powder brush to apply
Angel Chan I tried mixing cornstarch with cocoa powder and turmeric and whatnot but I just felt like it was not sustainable in all conditions (like in the summer or when you sweat, etc.), and yes generally there is no coverage for this- it's just a setting powder. So now I use regular liquid foundation and set it with corn starch, works like a charm! :)
BhavZ Nice! what i did was baby powder withhot chocolate powder(i didn't have any cocoa)(a little sticky but overall okay) then added lots of moistruizer or face cream and it also works great!
Arrowroot doesn't give coverage if you want coverage use zinc oxide and titanic oxide with clay this gives a full coverage and I use yellow oxide and aurora oxide for colour works perfectly I haven't bought store make up in long time
these are not usual ingredients people have at home or kitchen which is perhaps main reason they are not mentioned. If using these things it also is a sunblock too. I still havent tried a 'DIY' recipee for dry shampoo that also used cocoa powder and tbh, think my daughter (only one with brown hair) is very keen to be my crash test dummy lol.....Im like omg, but youll get to smell like chocolate! haha
hello homeveda i hav seen all the videos and they all are fantastic. i will try this too but i m sensitive to that cinnamon powder so can i skip this step???
I would like to know the shelf life of this make up. How to mkae them last long. Also doesnt cinamon powder burn? I recently created eyeliner naturally but that burns if goes into eyes.
Hi!!! i loved your recipe! i'm about to try this but i want to ask you something first, about the first recipe, does it has to be jojoba essential oil?? i have a few essential oils but i don't have one, can i use another one instead?? and the almond oil, same question, does it has to be almond?? could it be coconut? olive? thank you!!
Suggestion: Show how it looks while applying with the brush and also how the model looks after wearing it as it is very imp to have consistency while applying a foundation
Hi can you please do makeup totorial of your look. I really love the way you do your makeup. And can you do a video on how to get ride of dark marks on cheeks.

This is the video I've been waiting for!!! I love this channel :D I have to try this asap, just for the sake of it.. My only concern is the cinnamon and ginger powder on the face, l imagine it would add the tingly feeling and l am a bit afraid of that with my sensitive skin.. but l think I will see after application? I have to hunt down arrowroot powder, I can't get it anywhere, it seems I have to get it online.. Thanks for making this video and please do more of beauty series, that would be very well appreciated :) Thanks and have a nice day!
I just made the powder with the three key ingredients without oil but after applying this the face feels very dry due to cornstarch.. isn't it harmful?
It would be nice to see how these look on a couple of people...different skin colors, and different ages.. before we spend the money on the ingredients. ..Also, having a review done by several people would also be Very Helpful. ..Thank you

An easy way to make foundation is to put some moisturizer in your face powder

Homeveda - Home Remedies for You! please take this video down it is FALSE INFORMATION
She should test the stuff she makes on camera
Hahaha I was thinking the same thing
r u kidding me! can you please apply this to your face next time.
Why dont u test it on someone's face so that we can have an idea of how to apply and how will it actually look..
Thanks :)
what is arrow root powder? how do we get it?
It would be cool if you tried the products on.
how to store the first remedy foundation?

+BhavZ saw you at sophiastyled or that other chick
Angel Chan huh?? saw me where?
BhavZ somewhere else you said the powder has zero coverage

You forgot your last line! "This will cost you more that actual foundation!!"
😂
Jazzy /CittySimba lol 😂😂😂😂
Jazzy /CittySimba its very inexpensive actually, epecially for the quality.
😂😂😂😂
Even if it is (which adding your time it porbably is) who the hell cares. The idea is to make it homemade. You dont want to dont
Arrowroot doesn't give coverage if you want coverage use zinc oxide and titanic oxide with clay this gives a full coverage and I use yellow oxide and aurora oxide for colour works perfectly I haven't bought store make up in long time

I'm a brown-yellow woman...i need your help pls
hello homeveda i hav seen all the videos and they all are fantastic. i will try this too but i m sensitive to that cinnamon powder so can i skip this step???
I would like to know the shelf life of this make up. How to mkae them last long.

I like this idea but I would like to see a demonstration of the product to see what it looks like on the skin. Thank you for your time
How wonderful! But how do you store it and how long does it last for.
How long will this keep? Thank you for sharing!
racken00 As these are natural ingredients they absorb and blend well in the skin and thus this foundation will stay as long as 8 to 10 hours.
Hi!!! i loved your recipe! i'm about to try this but i want to ask you something first, about the first recipe, does it has to be jojoba essential oil?? i have a few essential oils but i don't have one, can i use another one instead?? and the almond oil, same question, does it has to be almond?? could it be coconut? olive? thank you!!

Cinnamon is an irritant.
wish I'd read this before I did it. I'm not allowed to put cosmetics over the rash on my face and we'll yknow
yes I made cinnamon face mask and my face was red!
oh yes.. even dry ginger! i was pretty shocked she mentioned that to use in the foundation
JasminaH correct
Well it depends on ur skin, like cinnamon face mask.
Hi can u tell instead of cornstarch we can use cornflour plz tell me....
I loveeee your recipe and videos but in the first recipe, wouldn't the almond oil cause a breakout?
J Goh Do a patch test. In excessive oily skin their could be this problem.

+ruzaika rizvi Yes that would be fine.

yes u r rt...n d cocoa powder wud not melt???
I don't think the cocoa powder would melt. I've seen people use it as impromptu bronzer.
I agree
What can u use instead of coco powder
brown eye shadow maybe. never tested it out though
its 'nutmeg powder' Fangirlarts
