    I made the beeswax lipstick base, from your book and followed your instructions to add tint😂 I was seriously overjoyed. I have never been able to wear lipstick. EVER. My skin is ultra sensitive and store bought, no matter the brannd dry out and badly chap my lips. I made this and I CAN WEAR LIOSTICK! I made my tint out of a few micas I purchased and now Im ready to rock and roll with an entire lipstick wardrobe. Thank you so much!

    I love this tutorial but I’m having a hard time with my base! I used Rice bran wax instead of beeswax and used candelilla and carnueba wax with a combination of coco caprate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, octyldodecanol, jojoba oil, Shea butter and a few other oils. The base has now hardened but when I use my finger to test the consistency it feels a bit crumbly (more like flaky) almost as if I’ve added mica powders and didn’t stir (just an example, I didn’t add any micas yet), what could be the reason?? I’ve looked ALL over to find an answer and I cannot find one! Please help lol!!!

    What is the texture difference between this version and the long wear lipstick base in your book? I’d like to choose one first because I am worried if I buy too many ingredients upfront they may expire soon 😅. Thanks @humblebeeandme!

      @HumblebeeAndMe  Рік тому

      I'd say the long-wear one wears better, while this formulation can be used in a mold (the long wear one does not work with this mold). If you don't have a mold I'd start with the long wear lipstick in the book ❤️ The ingredients for the book formulations are also really useful throughout the whole book, which is another point in the "pros" column for starting there. Happy making!

If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.).
      Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop.

    Hi Marie, I love your videos and your book. Both are very intresting and lead me to my new hobby .
    I tried the base only with pigments and micas and it is very dry and not really creamy on my lips. Did you try it also only with powders or always with liquid colors? I had 0.8g on 3.5g base....
    Could I make my own liquids with castor oil for example and how do you think the relations between oil and pigments must be?
    Greetings from Greece

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  5 років тому

      Thanks! I did not try this with only powdered colours; if you read the post you can see what I did try. You could try pre-dispersing your own pigments, but I'm unsure of what the ratios would be. Perhaps try 50/50? Happy making!

    I have a question! (yeah another ) is it possible to make something for the lips but with wine as the active ingredient? not necessarily whine but something with the color and the antioxidant properties and all that good stuff

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому +1

      If you could find a cosmetic grade ingredient or active derived from wine you could use that, but you really shouldn't use plain wine on its own-it will spoil, and that would be gross.

    • @SongbirdGaming
      @SongbirdGaming 2 роки тому +1

      What about grapeseed oil for the antioxidants and some red berry liquid dye fro TKB combined with some wine-colored micas? Wine is water soluble and like Marie pointed out, it spoils, so using real wine wouldn’t work well. It might be possible to make a lip scrub or lotion that contains grape skin extract, but it’s water soluble so would require emulsifying and preservatives. Maybe powdered GSE could be included in a powdered clay mask like the kinds of recipes on Marie’s blog? Just make sure it doesn’t dye your skin red.

    Hi there, been testing around with your recipe and the base work great. But after I applied the color pigment and storage, it started to grow grey mold all over the lipstick. I suspect is the water droplet formed on my lipstick after I remove the lipstick from the fridge, because it is still cold. I tried to place a water absorber beside the lipstick and it still started to get mouldy. Any idea?
