Kent the ABSOLUTE BEST recipe for Chicken Fried Steak EVER!!! I fixed it about a month ago and was OMG. Better than any I've ever eatin' even here in Tejas!!! HOOAH, OORAH and OOYAH!!!
Thank you for your videos, I know many take joy in them but they truly are so amazing. I originally found you trying to learn how to fix a cast iron I ruined, my doctor told me to only use cast iron due to health problems. I didn’t have anyone to teach me how to cook, or what to cook with let alone caring for cast iron. Everything I learned was trial and error, thus how I nearly ruined a cast iron ha ha. Your recipes are amazing, your wisdom is priceless, and your heart makes me happy!!! Thank you for making me the kind of mum that can pass this info down to my Kids and grandkids! Your my hero!!!!
Congrats on beating Bobby. Sounds like that must have been a lot of fun. We don't have cable so I've not seen it. Very cool on the idea to make meat bigger. I didn't know that. Thanks for the fun video. You're very good at creating videos. Cast iron for the win. I have cabbage cooking in the cast iron right now. Peanut oil, I like but expensive.
Kent, your recipes are awesome. Keeping it real without all the hipsters infusion fancy BS stuff. I watched the throw down with Bobby Flay. Glad you spanked him.
Saving g chicken grease and trimming gs from fried chicken is a super add to the deep fry mix.. The crust has a bit of the chicken taste...my favorite is doing this with elk or venison... Thanks for all your videos!
Congratulations on your win! We sure are enjoying your videos and recipes. Thank you Kent and Shannon for sharing with us. What thermometer do you use for checking your oil temperature?
I grew up eating something similar to this but my Momma pan fried it and then put it in brown gravy. In Eastern NC we called it country style steak and gravy. I will definitely try this way.
I went and watched your gravy video. looked great. my wife said sometimes her grandma's gravy came out thin and her grandpa would be soppin it up with his biscuit saying he had to corral it.
My grandmother bless her should couldn't make gravy unless it had lumps and grandpas would tell her we going to need that meat tenderizing hammer to get this choked down
Thank you, Mr. Rollins. I wish your videos had been around in 2005-2010. I'd have packed a cast-iron skillet, flour, and Red River Ranch seasoning in my duffel bags for Iraq and Afghanistan! You're my kitchen hero! Be safe and take care. Best wishes to you and Shannon.
I ordered your Red River Ranch Seasonings this morning; I'll pick up some top round later in the week; I'll report the results next Saturday! I cant wait!

Yes sir. Nothing like watch a little pause it, do what you did, repeat. Kent, thank you easy step be step video. You are my cooking Hero!! Thanks so much my friend.
Made it last night, and this is an awesome recipe! I laughed when he said it was healthier to deep fry.😂. This is pure comfort food at its best. Gotta have mashed taters and cream gravy with it. Of course I also served it with mixed vegetables to make it healthy!!
I'm thinking some big butter beans or even bacon-flavored cabbage would beat mixed vegetables. I like some tasty veggies, and with gravified mashed potatoes, why not go all in? You're gonna die at some point in your life, do you want to think about the dinner that could have been, at that moment?
I just made this today for Sunday supper and the family loved it. My wife especially loved the breading. This is a keeper and I'm going to continue making my chicken fried steak this way from now on
I've only recently discovered this channel but have been watching Beat Bobby Flay for a long time. I know Cowboy Kent is a hell of cook but knowing he beat Bobby Flay when many other people who called themselves culinary experts failed just proves Kent is the man

Been watching this channel for a decade and had to come back to this very episode on a hunch. Brought the family back to SE Kansas recently and was told of a place near by that had the best food and when I heard where, I had my doubts; "The old gas station?" Best chicken fried steak I've had in my life! (and really great mountain oysters BTW) Then it hit me: "I wonder if that was Kent's recipe? I better go watch in order to try and actually make it myself". Sure enough, and this was even better
Kent. Just finished one of the best, if not the best, Chicken Fried Steaks following your recipe to a "T." My son and I both love CFS but like you said the majority of time you get a bad piece of meat with tendons or whatever going through it. Bought my steak at a local Kroger yesterday and cooked up 4 - two to keep for another day. My son also thanks you...because he ate it like it was his last supper. Thanks again and my wife and I enjoy your sense of humor and your sign off message.
This recipe is legit. Made this tonight (just different seasonings) and it's the best chicken fried steak I have eaten. The crust actually stays crispy.
I think your videos are great, and I love you beat Bobby Flay!!!! you remind me of my Uncle Ray, a cowboy out in Idaho..... so great, thanks for your content!!!!
Thank you for your recipes they always turn out delicious and no leftovers at my house! God bless and another thank you for keeping the old ways going and great down home cooking. Love cooking with cast iron, like grandma use to, just miss her old wood stove. hopefully someday I'll find one lol. blessings to you and family.

There's also a device named "Fast Cutlet Maker V2" that pounds the flesh and create a nice squared pattern on it. It is popular in Poland.
Kent the ABSOLUTE BEST recipe for Chicken Fried Steak EVER!!! I fixed it about a month ago and was OMG. Better than any I've ever eatin' even here in Tejas!!! HOOAH, OORAH and OOYAH!!!
Fine dining it is
We fry in Lard with a couple spoons of Bacon grease . For that extra zing .
Thanks Amanda so much for the kind words, glad you enjoy the videos
Congrats on beating Bobby. Sounds like that must have been a lot of fun. We don't have cable so I've not seen it. Very cool on the idea to make meat bigger. I didn't know that. Thanks for the fun video. You're very good at creating videos. Cast iron for the win. I have cabbage cooking in the cast iron right now. Peanut oil, I like but expensive.
Thanks so much and cast iron is the best thing to cookout of
I agree, Kent. I love mine, too. Happy Cooking. 🍳
@@CowboyKentRollins plus I am from the south love outdoors
You can see him beat Bobby on UA-cam doll.
God bless you too brother, keep on cooking for years to come! Love ya!
God bless you as well
Kent, your recipes are awesome. Keeping it real without all the hipsters infusion fancy BS stuff. I watched the throw down with Bobby Flay. Glad you spanked him.
Thanks so much
Oh my my!!! My husband an I really enjoy your videos. This is definitely going to be a favorite recipe when we go ⛺️ camping. Keep em coming.
Thanks so much for watching
Mmmm.... sure don't get much better than that Kent.
IntenseAngler
His delivery and presentation is the best! And I love how 90% of his food is in cast iron. I’m getting away from other cookware...
LayneXIII Couldn't agree more brother!
Thanks so much for watching
Thanks so much good iron is the only thing to cook with
@@CowboyKentRollins Kent, how the hell do you stay so skinny being around all that awesome food ? You must have great discipline. Haha.
Saving g chicken grease and trimming gs from fried chicken is a super add to the deep fry mix..
The crust has a bit of the chicken taste...my favorite is doing this with elk or venison...
Thanks for all your videos!
It's about time for Throwdown with Kent Rollins isn't it? I'd watch it every day to see those big city chefs pick up a pointer or two.
Kent when you beat Bobby Flake lol 😆. You made a believer out of me. You beat him with good old Country Goodness. Amen.
Congratulations on your win! We sure are enjoying your videos and recipes. Thank you Kent and Shannon for sharing with us. What thermometer do you use for checking your oil temperature?
Comes from Amazon
Thanks so much my friend and be safe and God Bless you for what you do for the rest of us
Loved your video and the steak looked delicious and crunchy.
Thanks MaryAnne
I ordered your Red River Ranch Seasonings this morning; I'll pick up some top round later in the week; I'll report the results next Saturday! I cant wait!
Thanks and let me know
Looks delicious love your since of humor
Thanks so much
That is an unbelievable accomplishment beating Babby Flaaaay with my favorite dish makes it all that much better. Mad respect for you Cowboy, I mean even more then I had before I knew this. It's not a surprise though your food and drink always look super delicious.
I love how he keeps to traditional cooking methods that keep Americans feed and hearty!!!!! It's all about portion control and tradition!!!!
God Bless Everyone and Long Live Our Constitutional Republic!
Just watching you fry makes me happy. Thanks, Cowboy!
Thanks for watching
With all this delicious foods he prepares is hard starting a diet 😋😋😋😋😋
I can't wait to try this recipe! I am a big CFS fan, but only just found this video. Lest I forget, THANKS for ALL of your videos, Kent -- I always enjoy & learn from them so much. God Bless.
I followed this recipe tonight and made it for my girlfriend... and man we were impressed thanks Kent! Definitely gonna make it again!
Glad you enjoyed and Thank you for watching
This is a keeper and I'm going to continue making my chicken fried steak this way from now on
Oh I love chicken fried steak. Thank yall so much for sharing with us. God Bless
God Bless you as well
I've only recently discovered this channel but have been watching Beat Bobby Flay for a long time. I know Cowboy Kent is a hell of cook but knowing he beat Bobby Flay when many other people who called themselves culinary experts failed just proves Kent is the man
Thanks so much for watching
My tongue slapped the back of my head.
I can't eat now.
I am in a coma.

The throw down video was fun. Glad you beat that city slicker! Ha! He's a good sport though. Liked this one for the step by step. Much thanks to you, Shannon, Beagle and Frank too! Keep those videos coming!
BTW, I think you should consider getting a line of Cowboy Kent cookware with some cast iron and utensils to add to the store.
ya I really like the spatula

Good day Cowboy Kent,I had my first Chicken Fried steak couple years back at T/A truck stop in Sawyer,Mi. Wow! Your recipe looks like I wish I was there when you were cooking. Keep up the good work. God Bless you
I need this in my life! Indeed!
Been watching this channel for a decade and had to come back to this very episode on a hunch. Brought the family back to SE Kansas recently and was told of a place near by that had the best food and when I heard where, I had my doubts; "The old gas station?" Best chicken fried steak I've had in my life! (and really great mountain oysters BTW)
Then it hit me: "I wonder if that was Kent's recipe? I better go watch in order to try and actually make it myself". Sure enough, and this was even better
This looks delicious!
Thanks Tina
Thanks Chip for yall watching and God bless yall
Your accent makes me so happy:)
Thanks dint know I had one
This recipe is legit. Made this tonight (just different seasonings) and it's the best chicken fried steak I have eaten. The crust actually stays crispy.
great to hear glad y'all enjoyed
" double baptize" lol
Just beautiful cooking terms lol
This was as good watching him do this as it was when I made it at home. The best yet. Thanks again Kent!!
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching
I thought you said bacon powder! Then I heard you at the end😂

And now I want bacon powder!

@@ndanieltx Swear I was googling where to buy bacon powder

Macerator is what we called the tenderizer machine when I worked at a meat packing plant.
Makes sense. Macerate literally means, to chew.
