    I came here for one thing. To see how your front foot was positioned.
    I am satisfied! This is exactly what I've been doing ever since I started "naturally swinging".
    I use to square up, and that literally took me off my path, instead now I just pick my target from behind, and I line up to that target. My front foot is slightly open and I can clearly see the ball in my path. Biggest change I made besides letting my shoulders relax and my arms go limp.

    I generally shoot mid 70's. Through the years I've developed something that works good for me. If I'm trying to play a fade, I'll stand a little closer. This promotes a more upright swing, and allows me to slightly cut across the ball for the desired fade spin. If I'm trying to draw the ball, I'll stand a little further away. This allows me to swing more around my body, and approach the ball with more of an inside out path. I will say this... Standing closer to the ball makes solid contact easier with my irons.

      Sounds a lot like my game!! If I move half a foot away, all of a sudden I draw all my irons! It’s like a moving slider to determine draw-fade 😂

    • @jamiesloan7259
      @jamiesloan7259 2 роки тому

      @@GolfGuy32 Exactly! It works! Of course, I also slightly adjust my grip, to eliminate the pull, on the fade swing, and the block, on the draw swing. This way I have a very predictable ball flight, and don’t have to worry about a 2-way miss. Being able to safely predict your ball flight is the key to golf, in my opinion.

    It's interesting that Fred Couples Driver Stance has his arms closer to "impact position" than some other players. It's a bit similar to Bryson D. Experimenting with aligning the ball at address with the driver head just inside the sweet spot might help .. at least at the range while finding the best alignment for a given individual.

    Will it be breaching a rule if one wrap red electric tape on shaft........having that as a aid to my setup, pointing were I should place my front toes ball.....distance. Each club having red tape then. As I understand the rules dont alow altering the dynamics of a club/equipment to make it easier. ????.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 роки тому

      MJ,
      I'm pretty familiar with the rules, but not clear on that one. Clearly that wouldn't alter the playing characteristics of the club, but if you are 'building a stance' with the help of a measuring device that might not be allowed?
      Hope you find the definitive answer.

      That make sense. How about this..........Most shafts have brand tape wrapped around for logo and specification. Name of shaft, stiffness and so.......if one per say remove such tape and put it on desired spot.....I was just wondering. I cant be the only guy thinking of this....am I? Distance from ball is such a critical aspect for consistency and crisp shots......! Steel shafts design pattern........the shape from top to bottom.....im sur you noticed......it have a 2inch shallowing. Like rings.......gradually going thinner.
      Part of my Q is......will laying down the club on ground, grip between legs.......vertical....shaft to ball......m sure you know what I mean. Players hold out club infront of them aiming.......on green they aim with it and discern slope.....that would be same as what I intend to do

    I always thought I was lined up correctly, bent correctly, ball centered on the clubhead, correct take away, slice. Years of slice, got some stick on club face paper, found that 95% of my strikes were on the toe. realized that I wasn't lifting my head , but was leaning on my toes, when the club was behind my head I just leaned back an inch and toed the ball.

      I'd definitely consider it. Just changing the grip may not be enough, practice (at less than full speed) snapping the club face shut as you approach impact. The goal would be to hit some smother hooks to get the general feel.

    Well im not sure same length clubs are an idiosyncrasy. I woukd say Jims goofy looking back swing is a idiosyncrasy. Not taking offense but there is data and sound logic to single length clubs. There is no benefit to Jims back swing he just makes it work. Decent video and thanks for taking the time to make it.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  6 років тому

      Thanks. I agree, most people couldn’t play at all with Furyk’s backswing. Regards the clubs, there is clearly a give and take with those type things (a 35 inch driver would be super easy to hit, just huge loss of distance etc).
      All the best, Adam

    • @TheMotownPhilly
      @TheMotownPhilly 6 років тому

      Scratch Golf Academy Agreed a 35" driver would sacrafice too much distance over accuracy. The irons though are a bit diffrent in that the swing is improved and the offset altered making up for the lack of length. They aren't for everyone but for beginners and people with less time to practice it definitely makes it easier with a single set up. Im not steeped in tradition but I do respect the rules and love the game. Hit'em straight and thanks for the reply.

      I’m not, I’m a big fan of his. Not sure how you could get that impression, as I mention him regularly in videos, and did a whole video on his many swing changes, and speak very highly of him.
      No worries.
      All the best, Adam

      Faraz Naseem...... I have been following Adam for 2 years....and he has never made disparaging remarks about Tiger. I think an apology is in order.

    I agree with all these comments. Adam, your channel is easily the best on UA-cam. Your videos are the ideal time length, instruction is super clear, the showcasing of drills is solid, and your swing is beautiful. Really really good channel. I watch every day. 😎👍
