- We have crossed borders for ice cream, driven hours for breakfast pastries, and now we fly across the country to get our favorite cookie of all time! The lengths we will go for sweets ;)

Who are Katie & Andrew?
Katie grew up in a small town on the coast of Washington State (think Twilight country), and Andrew grew up in San Diego, CA. We met when we were both interns working at Disneyland and have been inseparable ever since.
After getting married in 2015 we decided we wanted to dedicate our lives to adventure and fun!
We have traveled to 25 states, 9 countries so far, and have visited Disney theme parks probably over 500 times in the last 12 years. We are always looking for the next venture, because as we like to say, "you can make even the simplest things like going to the grocery store fun."
When we are not filming or traveling you can probably find us making pancakes or traversing whatever city we are in to see all of the local movie/tv filming locations in person!
The architecture tours are great - highly recommend. Even native Chicagoans enjoy these tours. Unique way to see the city, learn about its history and architecture.
My mom was a total square, but she had a roommate who was kind of crazy. The roommate got invited to the Chicago Playboy Mansion in the 70s and took my mom along. The roommate proceeded to get drunk and got them all kicked out. That lady provided so many great anecdotes for my mom
This Lady is so Wonderfully Charming & Goofy.😂
Im glad you enjoyed my City & I appreciated all you & Your Husband's Anecdotes.👍🏿
So cute. You have "bricks" near each other, he loves oatmeal raisin cookies & you love oatmeal soap...MFEO
What a wacky-entertaining video! Former 13 year Chicago resident, so pleased to see it again through your eyes.
Thank you!
Hope you like our City!
We love Chicago!
The Playboy HQ at 919 Michigan was even more impressive. Decorated with the originals of the artwork that was featured in the magazines, it was a literal museum of contemporary art.
And across the street from me in it's hey-day. From our tiny attic window on our top floor we could look out to see The Bunnies sunbathing on the mansion's roof.
Lincoln Park is outrageously expensive. Walt’s house is in Avondale. Tell the neighborhood where Hugh grew up. You’ve mentioned one neighborhood. We have 78 neighborhoods.
Chicago native here, who still resides in city -
Walt Disney’s house is in Hermosa, not Avondale.
Compared to what?
I live in Chicago and never heard of this place. I will have to go try these cookies. Just looked them up and they are only about 10 minutes from me. 😀
Me either and I’m a born and raised Chicagoan and still here doubt I’m ever leaving never heard of this place. Have you tried it yet?
Being a Chicagoan, I thoroughly enjoyed your quick tour of our beautiful city. I came away with two questions, though. How can you eat those giant cookies without milk? And what have you got against the architectural boat tour?
Right down the street from Hugh’s house was where frank Lloyd wright and Ernest Hemingway grew up (oak park)….haha. And yall went to Hugh’s house.
Hi! Im from Brazil, Ive been in NY last december and got to try this cookie. Totally get you guys catching a plane to eat it. Ill be in Chicago next november, and im so looking foward to eat this cookie again!!
It's the best cookie of all time! Enjoy!
Abbey Brown...you need to grab food at D'Amato's Italian Bakery, I can see it in the video (Grand Ave & May Street (corner). I always get a pan pizza square, olive oil bread (so good you can eat it on its own), tomato bread & desserts.
Sounds great!
Imagine being around them both when the sugar-high wears off. They must be jonesing for ANYTHING sweet. I was born here and live in Chicago and do thank them for coming and showing me even more interesting places, Adorable couple but scary what the next obsession might be. But Hey, follow your dream, right? Now I gotta go and get one of those cookies!! LOL
This is the first time I’ve watched your videos and you guys are so great… living life to the fullest!! I live in (and love) Chicago and love when people love this city too!! 🏙️
Actually the high school was just called Steinmetz HS back then.
You are loyal, Hugh's High School
Their oatmeal cookie is yummy too.
It sure is! It is Andrew's favorite!
Great work! 😀
Thank you!
I grew up a block away from Hugh’s house on New England Ave until i moved to Orlando to do my first college program at WDW!
Omg.. please tell me you went in and got more..😊😊
Silly reason. JUST SAY YOU CAME TO HAVE A GREAT TIME .
I'm born and raised 72yr old Chicagoan, have Always loved our beautiful city but Never heard of this bakery or cookie? ??
From one native Chicagoan to another - what neighborhood do you originally hail from and where are you at now?
Humbolt Park then and Edison Park now and You? ??
@@raleighmann3368 - GET OUTTA TOWN!! (Not literally of course lol).
I’M from Humboldt Park too!!!! - literally born [at Norwegian hospital in ‘92] and raised there at Division and Kedzie up until I moved not too long ago. I met my boyfriend/ now husband in Edgewater and we now reside in Logan Square. But Humboldt will always be my home and where I aspire to own property one day - among many other places haha.
I’m on the Blue Line as I type this rn. I love love love hearing the experiences of real old school a Chicagoans. I imagine your days in Humboldt were quite different to mine based on the history of the area and city. (I love our city and neighborhood’s history too 😊)
Kedzie and LeMoyne 1454, waited for the CTA daily on Division but this was Wayyy before you😲 I'm 72yr old
Yep, quite different
Breakfast is two doors down from Sweet Mandy B’s. Sorry to tell you this, but it would blow your cookie away.
I FKN LOOOOOOOOVE SWEET MANDY B’s!!!!!
- fellow Chicago native still residing here lol
@@inr63 ditto buddy, ditto. What I waisted opportunity 😢.
Next time you come to Chicago you gotta try our Do Rite donuts! So delish you’ll be taking flights yearly to get some!
@@KatieJoMikell yes but you need to go to one of the locations. Don’t buy the stuff in the grocery store. Always get it from the direct seller.
@@Jude74 I didn’t even know Do Rite was in the grocery store. I haven’t seen it who does that.
Welcome back. Love the progressive rock references. Chicago vinyl and Pink Floyd hat
Your sweater is so cute!
Thank you @goingawayguide! Lilly Pulitzer!
I’m an Orlando native now living in Chicago… I go back to Orlando often, sooo let me know if you want to work out some sort of deal?? I’ll accept Tijuana Flats in exchange for cookies 🤣
Love oatmeal raisin cookies!
next time visit the restaurant where THE BEAR was filmed and the Home Alone house....
Home Alone House is a good drive outside of Chicago
The Home Alone house is in Winnetka - a suburb.
It’s not in the city of Chicago.
I'm oatmeal raisin all day
I am a lifelong Chicagoan for the most part. This is the most beautiful city in the USA bar none. I travelled for work a lot so I can judge. However, the communist mayor and our worthless governor who spent 500 million of his own money to get elected (real tells you something about this slob) means I’ll probably move. Tourists though…come as long as you don’t have to pay real estate taxes, for the pension crisis or for a lot of gas.
I hope you move out soon if you haven't already.
@@whispermason8052 what a burn……
Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
Yes, Chicago has fallen so far. Used to love to be in the city. Now I stay in the suburbs. And their crime is coming out here. Will be time to move out of state soon also.
What is the name address of cookie place
Levain Cookies....they have multiple locations in Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Los Angeles
Lincoln Park is cute until you get pistol whipped and robbed…
…by the prices of everything in that neighborhood.
- Chicago native who still resides in the city
I’ll take my chances in Chicago any time than going anywhere in the south. Rednecks are more of a threat than anything else!
Oh the pistol whipping and robbing is happening in all neighborhoods now. Subsidized by our no bail system.
