I am sure the roses will do well in your new garden. You guys have become professional plant movers! Love the classical music you added while cutting down the roses.
Ouch!!! I haven't followed your move until now. Just couldn't bear to see it. I have strong ptsd from moving and losing family. Signed, your old friend in France.
Thank you for this informative video. I am moving but the roses I have are in the ground so I will be cutting back and then digging up and putting into a pot to move it. Do you recommend potting it up right before the move or doing it in the spring or fall before the move? The loppers are great because it avoids you from getting scratched by the thorns!
I use a trellis that doesn't require attaching it to a wall. It has very long spikes that go into the ground and keep it stable. Some people use fishing line because it is pretty much invisible but requires some type of attachment to your wall. I have a climbing hydrangea that is very heavy and we use plugs and screws and drill into the brick to install on our home. Then we use wires to run horizontally and it holds it up.
Oh thank you so much . Yes it is in a pot but somehow scared to drill hooks into the wall of the house. It a wood house. Maybe I try the trellis or an obelisk.gotta watch that video he do with his strawberry hill rose
sacrilege, taking out GJ 😢. considering doing the same myself, Ive two of them and they are south facing in a mild Irish climate and they are poor growers. The foliage is awful, very prone to drying out in the wind, one or two spindly canes each year and never gets beyond 5 feet in my garden. Yes the blooms are gorgeous but In my garden its not worth the space on my two decorative trellis’. Think I’ll plant both of them in one spot this autumn and treat them like a shrub
that musical is hysterical; nice touch!
They will do well at their new home can't wait to see what happens next .
The Rose will have a new home. So great that you are able to bring your Rose plant. They will be fine after pruning
