  • I recently purchased this relatively complete 1960 Cadillac Sedan DeVille from a gentleman who responded to a want ad I had placed. He said he heard it run when he purchased it as a project "several" years ago. Let's see if we can get this 390 Caddy V8 to fire up once again! If you're interested in the complete car with a title in the as shown condition it can be purchased for $3,500. If you would like to purchase the car as a roller and we keep the engine and transmission you can take this flattop home to your garage for only $1,500! As always, thanks for watching!

Cool old Caddy! I remember back in the late '70s one of my favorite pastimes was walking through old auto salvage yards, and I found a '61Coupe DeVille that was that same color (they called it Fontana Rose that year). It was in great condition (of course, it wasn't that old back then!), just needed a radiator and alternator (first year) to be complete. The guy running the yard wanted $150 for the car as it sat. Alas, I was a broke college student then, and the next time I visited the salvage yard, the car had been crushed...

In 1974 I was a senior in high school and was taking an auto mechanics class, so I bought a black '60 Caddy from the junkyard. I ended up taking it partway apart then sending it back to the junkyard. It had a 4 speed automatic, dual exhaust with mufflers and resonators, a longer than normal battery, This was the first year for the spin on oil filter and the last year for dual exhaust. Mine did not have AC like this one, but it did have the Perfect Circle cruise control. I took that unit out and opened it up to see what was inside. When I go to a car show and see a '60 Caddy, the first thing I look for is the cruise control knob, and I rarely see it. The headlight dimmer in the '59 Caddy was the Autronic Eye, and in '60 It was smaller and was called Guidematic.

Gotta find fender skirts for that Caddy. Given the low milage, the Hydramatic should run out as good as the engine. The body, except for the floors, looks pretty good. More work would be worth it.

Yup, you always know when you see a previous "master" mechanic's custom exhaust work, like that, your best friend is gonna be a reciprocating saw or cutting torch. Best to just cut all of it off and start over.....Cause, there is no way you can match or compete with their next level work and creativity. That classic has multiple examples of a True Master of Advanced-Monkey Engineering. Best to cut it all off, so you won't look bad next to their work? Not to mention the high quality of the previous electrical wiring modifications and custom metal fabricated tow hitch assembly. Haha! My brain lacks the proper words to describe what you showed us....

Just started watching based on Puddin's recommendation. Being a Canadian living on the east coast, this level of rust looks more in line with what I'm used to.
    Love the video. Subscribed.

You visited Watch Wes Work a while ago, prior to taking off for Kain-tuck-y (according to Wes). That's why I'm here. I'm glad I came. I'm 62 and like seeing the old cars worked on. I like dogs, so thanks for including yours in your video. p.s. I had a 1966 Buick Skylark when I was a kid so it was nice seeing the Buick in the WWW video - nice burnout!)

Great video! It is so nice of sir Duff to allow Poppy and Mr. Mortske to have a cameo appearance, at first I thought Duff was on vacation and hired a stunt double. Lol
    Take care, be safe.

Thanks Mortske, that's dedication! no power for days and you still got a video out! Hope the powers back on for you and also Pookie. Love the old caddys, i've driven one hard and it was a loads of fun! Next upgrade maybe a propane powered generator? And get one of those plug in power meters to see how much power your using, without melting your current generator!

Old Duff really loves those luxury cars, good luck on the power and cold weather situation, at least you can still get fuel for the generator. I was looking at a dual fuel conversion for my generator so I had an option for propane, power has been pretty stable in our area for the past 10 years, we have gone as long as two weeks after an ice storm some years back. My parents were from south east corner of South Dakota(Alcester), they sold their farm in the mid 50's to move to the PNW. The plan was to get away from the weather after the neighboring farms barn was picked up by a tornado and dropped into one of their fields.
