"Redline Rebuild" You mean the most satisfying youtube series ever???
Yes
That it is,an the time too edit it all is amazin ,an put all the time lapse together, plus all the maching ..another great build by Hagerty.tks for sharing
They are
If you're a gearhead and don't watch this series, you're either lying about not watching it or being a gearhead.
I hope the video editor guy finally got his well deserved RAISE!
I liked the part where the engine was rebuilt
Maybe that would look good in your Fiero.
@@lwoodt1 DANGIT! you beat me to it!
I like the part where history repeats itself (again) and he had to turn the distributor 180 degrees
I wanted to see a dyno run... drove one of these 365" engines back in the day in my Mom's '56 Caddy... wanted to see if it really had the advertised "300 HP"... it never seemed as hot as the 277 HP 371" Olds in my '57 Olds 98 Starfire...
Hi Ron. 👋🏾
Your stop-motion crew is spectacular. "Wallace & Grommet" would be proud.
I know it's a mammoth undertaking this time lapse but this is exactly what I appreciate the most
OMG that was so beautiful, amazing video. greetings from bolivia.
I've watched a lot of rebuild from this guy and I can honestly say that he's a badass!! Love the time-lapse videos pal
I have been driving Cadillacs since 1975. My favorite engine is the "Kettering V8" 365. I have had many. You did everything perfect. I have great respect for you man!!! I currently have a 1958 Coupe DeVille with tri-power. I love the sound and performance of that engine. When you started this series i was not sure what you were going to do. You did it all perfect! My old Cadillac mentors would enjoy this if they were still alive. Thank you so much for making this old Cadillac Craftsman happy!!
Kudos to the whole production. Davin you are a craftsman and the result is a beautiful looking and running classic. The gold paint on the Cadillac logos on the valve cover are really the icing on the cake. Working in television and video production for 40 years I am stunned by the talent of the videographers and editors as Hagerty. The use of new equipment and tech to produce this time lapse showcases their talent and dedication. I know how much work this is and they are truly at the top of their game. Congratulations because this was really a treat to sit back, watch and marvel at the effort.
It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that’s put the distributor in 180 out.
Me too! Always nice to get it right the second time!
Oh, I hear ya.
Its a rite of passage
Either that or he’s not afraid to admit his mistakes like any other great builder...
If you Dont have. You are Not a real car guy 😂
These time lapse videos never get old. The attention to detail, the stop animation and the respect for history are satisfying to watch. In my limited tinkering with engines, SBCs and Pontiacs, I never had to fuss with rocker arm shafts. What a pain.
Beautiful !!!!
So well done this video !!! 👍 😎
If you've ever put a distributor in 180' off you immediately recognise the sound it makes when it tries to fire.
and by the fireball that comes blasting out of the top of the carb shortly after, lol.
If you’ve watched Davin build a motor or two you recognize that sound... :D
been there done that
Or when you blow the mufflers off, like I did in trade school over 20 years ago. My instructor laughed at me. Scared the hell out of me. LOL
We all been their before..lol.
Been holding back on watching this video. My father passed away Jan 18th and we were in the process of rebuilding his '68 cadillac deville with the 472 in it. All thats left is putting in the re-upholstered seats. Great video, thank you guys.
A work of pure magnificence! "Roll the time lapse!"
OMG. This video is not about engine. It's about the high quality of filming. Amazing
This man is a wizard ! He is worth his weight in gold.
Two things America's best... Hagerty and the v8's...
Good bless America
Never clicked on a video so fast
A sweet sympathy of pistons!!!😮 That's so good to hear!! Keep doing more.
This has been my favorite Redline Rebuild. Thanks for making my COVID quarantine better guys.
Your frequent signoff, "Get in your shop, get your work done!" inspires me to get off my ass, get in my shop and get my hands dirty. It's the perfect sign off to these excellent videos. Please include it in all your pieces ... it never gets old.
This series has some of the cleanest, well made videos on UA-cam.
My brother just rebuilt his motor on his 76 caddy limo. Never knew this was the block color they used. Absolutely beautiful. You guys did a great job!
Whew! Best one yet fellas, although the Buick is a damn close second for me. As many times as I have seen a timelapse, they still blow me away.
Hope you guys got a raise this year, you deserve it!
Look how awesome is this piece of engineering ! We are light years from today’s electric motors … these engines are pure excitement ! Thanks for your great videos !👍👍👍👏
Been seriously looking forward to this one! Please do and Oldsmobile at some point! I need pointers on how to re-do my 78 Trans-Am's 403. Your 350 chevy rebuild videos were the blueprint I used when rebuilding the 350 in my 68 corvette a while back, this stuff is gold!
Hey this isn’t “China” content
What you doing hanging round these parts?!
Brilliant, aren't they?
Lol what the hell, was just watching your China housing bubble video and here you are commenting on a cadillac engine rebuild.
@@Chevymonster203 Haha, yeah I have another car related channel called "Worthless Whips" where I work on cars when not talking about China
@@nct9466 You got me!
The best time lapse from all over the internet are here.
A big hug from Brasil.
Awesome timelapse video as always!
These Cadillac V8s are quite underrated... Nice to see a video on these engines.^^
Nice too see a old Caddy rebuild, never too old too see those old one built
@@kyleforeman4543 I concur with you on that one.
It's nice to see an old engine like that Cadillac V8 being rebuilt to factory condition.^^
@@bhumiriady I'm absolutely positive this one is built better than factory condition.
I have a 58 cadillac that my parents bought in 1960. Lifelong Southern California car, in great shape. It has the original 365 engine, same as this, , and runs beautifully. They are torque monsters, just whats needed to get 5000 lbs of car moving from a dead stop!
@@1958Cadillac-v2g I have a 1957 and it really is a joy to drive. Silent from inside the car when just holding a cruising speed but just touching the pedal and it shows you just what it's capable off.
Красава сильный моторист уважуха и лайк в поддержку 🤟🤙✌️👌👍
That is one the most beautiful engines I've seen come together on this show
My 57 Eldorado Biarritz engine just got rebuilt but we are waiting for the 2x4 carbs to be returned after rebuild!., took a long time but it will be worth it to cruise around the CA central coast again!
Wow the gold lettering on that blue is amazing. And that exhaust note oh my god that sounds good
@2:57 Really cool that you show the cross-hatching. This is critical to running in a fresh engine.
I’ve never been this early keep doing these redline rebuild videos they are amazing!
It's reassuring to see that even Davin sometimes gets the dizzy 180 out, makes me feel a little better about my numerous mistakes on my first rebuild. I was confused af when I had those backfires until I thought to recheck the dizzy position.
Your videos are an inspiration and an example of craftsmanship
Your next project should be a diesel, like an old 6.9 IDI from a Ford truck that would make my day
Or maybe a detroit ? 😁
Maybe one of those old Mercedes 5 cylinder turbo diesels?
yes it will be a 6.9 but only cause i own one that needs a rebuild
I'd like to either see a common Cummins 6BT or an uncommon VM Motori 2.8 (Jeep Liberty Diesel).
@@janknudsen145 understandable
Even our heros will make small mistakes! its all about correcting them and moving on! Love these redline rebuilds!
There is just something about old Cadillac engines. They just seem to be special.
Yes, I belive that in fact my entire 58 Caddy is very special to me, my parents bought it in 1960! Still on the road. 😊
In my humble opinion this is the best video in the series so far! Keep up the good work, thank you for this content!
the shooting and editing on these timelapse builds are insane man, so many details, you cant get it all watching just in one time, thank you hagerty for the amazing content!
For anyone who has ever rebuilt a motor, that moment of getting the beast fired up and roaring is simply wonderful. Almost as good watching it on Hagerty as real life but not quite.
I love the sound it makes at idle. You just know there's power lurking in there. Great job on this rebuild.
You guys are without a doubt the most epic masters of timelapses, timelapsi? I can't tell you how much we over at worthless whips enjoy these engine rebuilds, best engine related UA-cam content period!
I enjoy the time lapse followed by the startup!
IT RUNS...!!!
Another one done nicely by Davin and crew..!!
Such a beautiful engine. And the gold pinstriping is really classy. Older engines may not be as sufficient but they sure look good. 👌
Very satisfying to see this piece of classic American machinery run like it did the day it came off the assembly line. Great work Hagerty Team!
That was one of the best videos I’ve ever seen!!! To follow you through the build and see it come together like that is just amazing!! 180 off:) love it, been three done that:). Can’t wait for the next one!
a lot of people say ooo time lapse, but what im always impressed by is the stop motion. that takes TIME to do right.
I'm addicted to the time lap videos 😊✌️ btw I'm one of the senior. Re .technician
Over/Under !!! Takes a Proud Man to admit the Flaws! I will watch this Clip about 10times and enjoy it every time. What's Next??
Great job! I'm a big fan of this series. Thank you for what you do.
No question the best production and camera work around!
Awesome time lapse, it's ok the timing is right because you did it twice. Just love this channel.
This is probably the best engine rebuild video I have ever seen, wow.
That thing's a beauty. The engine too.
I like the way you do when you rebuild a machine it's like playing a puzel it's just a very high measurement and level of accuracy, I hope you can learn directly from you to build a machine with applied standards and a really amazing way of seeing bad machines at home. remodeled into a better and more powerful engine, I think you are the best engineer I have ever seen
That sounds gloriously... meaty.
The sound, the paint … Everything is beautiful. What a piece of art !
I liked that laugh when you first tried to start it. Dead give away!
The ultimate in DIY. Always a pleasure to watch the rebuild videos.
Снимаю шляпу. Красота нового рождения дедушки.
This is more than just a time lapse... There is stop motion animation in here as well. Overall, from the engine to the videography to the production, just amazing works of art to behold. Thanks to everyone involved so we may all enjoy it almost as much as you do. 👍
Интересный контент!!! Hi from the Tbilisi, Georgia

Incredible work! This is like a concert for mechanics. It is the pure state of art!
I think Davin puts the dist. in out of time for dramatic purposes (wink, wink).
BEST ENGINE ASSEMBLY VIDEOS OUT THERE. PERIOD
It feels like no time since the last one
Superb! That was special. Sounds nice too. Thanks for a top watch.
Your videos are really great! All of the hours that are put into a motor rebuild are condensed into roughly a 10+ minute video and the animation parts are great!! Thanks for sharing the video and looking forward to seeing some more! How is the Honda trail bike coming along?
These videos need to be up for some kind of production award or something, absolutely fantastic everytime!
Le beau V8❤
Hands down the best time-lapse videos!!
Well he wasn't kidding when he said the video is around the corner...
Brilliant. That man is patient, highly skilled and meticulous. My hat’s off!
no way i just saw him rocking the redline rebuilds w NO BRIM
This engine turn out really well. The gold lettering on the valve covers really makes it pop.
I liked that 🔥
Why is the oil dark
It's the signature color of royal purple motor oil .
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I FORGOT HOW SMOOTH THE CADILLAC ENGINE IDLES!!!! GREAT REBUILD AND A GREAT EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!!
Investing in crypto is the best lucrative way of making money now
I wanted to trade Crypto but got confused by the fluctuations in price
That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Kevin Williams
Yeah my first investment with Mr Kevin Williams earned me profit of over $250,530 US dollars ever since then he has been delivering
He,s stories are everywhere 😱 Trading crypto with mr Kevin Williams has being a game changer for me
he has really made a good name for himself
He's obviously the best i invested 2000USD with him and I made a profit of 71001USD after trading
So, all the videos U guys keep posting, & these redline rebuilds never disappoint, keep it up guys.
Haven't learned yet in your young age? It's **always** backwards, just like USB plugs! 🤣
Some serious skills on display! Glad I got to see the 'real time' too. A thing of beauty.
I love the color on this caddy engine
Plus the camera work in the build up of this donk, well done.
Dudes. Seriously the best time lapse editing for an engine rebuild video. Please make more. 2000s production cars please.
As soon as I logged to the channel today, I couldn't click on the link fast enough. Better than any TV show. Great project! Great result! A thing of beauty. And who hasn't installed a distributor backwards before at least once? It's a rite of passage! Well done Davin!
The chocolate donut shot was the best!!
The sweet sounds of a running rebuilt engine! Worth the wait!
You have some EXCELLENT cinematography goin on here. More of this, please.
Wounderful sharing, Thank you so much.
These Redline Rebuilds have to be some of my favorite videos on UA-cam. The production quality is fantastic!
It's worth it, Davin and company. It's worth the hours, the effort and the expense.
Nobody else is doing what Hagerty is doing with this series. Best show on Hagerty, right here.
-Ed on the Ridge
That blue explodes off that engine!!! Love the video!
Brilliant as always, never would have guessed you would be 180 out!
It's actually really rewarding to watch the time-lapse AFTER having watched the previous multiple episodes. It allows one to fondly remember certain moments already experienced. Good content.
When you brought that off the twenty five hundred rpm’s to break it in to an idle, that idle sounds bad ass! Nice job, actually another nice job.
Thanks for showing us this rebuild, it was great all the way through to the final stop action video to hearing it rumble!
Can’t wait to see what’s next!
These are always entertaining, this guy knows his stuff.
Well, from my perspective... i have fun watching these videos. Most likely more than with wrenching and working on my project.😉 Stay healthy and thx for all of your amazing work! Your a kind of Idol here... and i think not only for me!
Had to smile when he tried to fire it up and got a carb backfire. Had a similar experience 62 years ago when a buddy and I rebuilt his '50 Merc flathead after we graduated from high school and he used a cash graduation gift to finance the rebuild. First time ever for both of us. We were working in a drive-through granary shed with a few hand tools and a chain hoist. Having no engine stand we reinstalled the rebuilt engine and the first time we cranked it got fire shooting out of the top of the carb. Took us a while to figure out that the distributor was 180 out.
