I have scheduled to attend Sales and Services training next month.
I just got hired as a ptf career employee last week and going on my second week. I know I will be taking the window clerk training followed by the exam in order to stay an employee since it’s a ptf I got hired as. I am pretty nervous about the window clerk exam as this is the first time I am working for the usps. But as I watch your videos more than it makes sense and I feel less nervous about the exam. I was wondering what was the difference between a non career pse and a ptf career and you explained very well. Thank you for taking your time and explaining.
Congrats on locking in on a career employee position! Once you get to the exam room, you’ll see that it’s not that hard. Best advice I can give you is to study everything that has numbers in it. Such as how much things should weigh, and what class does it become based on weight.
I’m glad that I was able to explain what you needed to understand, as well as relieving your anxiety. You will be just fine 😊
I was a PSE for about a year and a half. Five months in, they had me take the window training class. I would fill in as needed when career employees didn't show up. I guess it depends on where you're at.
I got this job offer career but as a single mom I’m scared of taking time away from my son 😩
Hey I am in the prehire list for Sales and distribution associate as a career employee. If I will be hired on, Do I have to work only in the window with flexible schedule ? they listed as 25.81 per hour.
Congrats on making it to the pre-hire list. No, you will work in the back (throwing packages) early in the morning, then move on to the window. Once the window is closed, you will throw packages again in the back to get an early start for the next day.
25 an hour wow!!!! Surprising, what state NY is only paying 20.05 an hour.
@@antoniofieldz100525 is for career positions. 20.05 is for the non career.
@@phyllisbowden9567 Congrats!
@@Positivity876 thank you
Do you know why PSE’s can not apply for Full time positions if available vs having to become a PTF in a different location
They’re unable to apply as a PTF/full time position because of the structure of the USPS. However, they will be able to once they’ve earned their time in and they become a “regular.” This is automatically happens with the appropriate time as a PSE.
Would you suggest working at PO 2 hours away?
Hi 👋🏼
No, I don’t.
That’s a crazy commute, you’ll tire of that very quickly!!
Hey I have window training next month. Is any learning book or website. Can you help me please.
What was your hours as a Career employee?
There’s two types of Career Employees. The one that I was (Part time flexible) and one that work their way up from the bottom. For me, the part time flexible, there’s no set schedule. Therefore, your income is unlimited. The regular (career employee that work their way up) they have set schedules. Their schedule is usually one day off in the week, and on a Sunday.
If you fail your test for the window clerk can you still work for the post office? Can you bid on another position within the post office?
Yes, only if you did NOT get hired as a PTF (Part time flexible).
