I worked as a PSE, my office had 17 city routes and 5 rural routes. After the morning break down of spurs, parcels and Amazon the carrier station area looked like a disaster the first time I saw it but it is all actually quite organized and works like a well oiled machine. Problem with being a PSE and dealing with the morning break down is you can never guess how heavy of morning you are going to have. Mondays and the day after holidays are usually the worst but I saw some Saturday mornings and some Wednesday mornings that were just as bad. With Covid more people are shopping on line more than ever and staying out of the stores so parcels have changed drastically over the last year because people are getting EVERYTHING delivered to their homes. I can recall speaking with some of the older rural carriers and city carriers who said they might have had a few parcels a day and everything was jus plain old mail 20 years ago. Now its the other way around. A couple of our rural carriers would make a second trip back to the office for parcels because everything would not fit in their vehicles. Good video. It should give anyone interested in working at the USPS and idea what a PSE does. Like I always said, if you are a PSE and you claim your job is easy with a break time, you don't work at a very busy office. I seldom got the chance to sit down unless I was on break.
