I’m currently working on at a plant in NC as PseMPC only been working there 30 days yesterday told myself I was gonna quit because I was tired of driving an hour back and forth and the schedule is crazy they keep changing the schedule. 4 years ago I applied for an Assistant Rural Carrier position and took the carrier test. I scored 70, which is terrible, but still got the job! After a year I realized I wanted to be career, so I applied to some Rural Carrier Associate positions and got one with that low score after a lot of patience. Well, that position can take decades to turn career in a small office, so I retook the carrier test and scored 98, and got me a job as a City Carrier Associate. CCAs go career automatically after 24 months, so I was in it to win it! After 18 months I got burned out and made the mistake of deciding to go back to school, so I quit and got certified as a software engineer, but ultimately decided I missed the physical work and didn't want to work in the tech industry (long story). So now I am applying to P.O. jobs again, but I am rejuvenated and energized to get back in and become career! I retook the carrier test again and scored 100, and took the clerk test and scored 100! I am moving from Louisiana to South Carolina and applying to many CCA and PSE positions around the Greenville area. What a journey! This will be my FOURTH time attending academy when I get one of the jobs. I can't decide which position I should take. I loved being a CCA besides summertime and getting chased by dogs, so I am considering a PSE position. Any advice?
What a journey?! I love the ambition and determined spirit. It really depends on the environment that you want at this point. Do you want to be inside the post office or not. It’s pretty active as a clerk as well. Nonetheless, make sure that if you’re only applying to clerk positions are career. This will guarantee more money and more physical work. Good luck!
@@Positivity876 I am definitely looking for the career clerk positions, but they are quite rare. If I am not mistaken, I think the most recent contract enabled new PSE hires to convert to career after 24 month, same as the CCA, so either one will work for me, however I would give them both up for the career clerk position. At this point I am trying to determine not only which position I want to be in but which office will be the best to work in and an easy commute. You know how offices are though, you can't really know until you work there.

I have a question so I’m pse sales service associate I know there is an exam that’s required for the window test .. if I failed the test is my job safe? Or will I lose it
Hello! No, just the assessment. You can apply later on to a Window Clerk position (PSE/Sales & Services Distribution Associate), and then you would have to take to Window Exam. You do not lose your job if you fail.
Hi question which job is secure pse or pse sale service after applying will they send the test to ur email do the text have math both positions what take will be given to keep ur job thanks ❤
@@ericedwards3055 I applied to a career position. These positions are rare, but they’re out there, even in Florida. It’s because you applied as a PSE/Mail Processing Clerk, and not career position.
Hey Neka- I’ve been working since July 15th with only 1 day off per week working 4-5 a day and 6 hrs on weekends @ the window by myself. My position is SSDA. When I applied I took the 477 assessment; is tht the same as window exam?
Hi! No, the 477 is not the window exam. It’s the assessment, the initial exam/test that you took to get your position/job. Are you sure you didn’t take the 473 exam? That’s the exam that’s required for Sales Services Distribution Associate (SSDA).
So, I am currently a CCA, but going through the hiring process for a career Sales/Service Distribution Associate position. I have been able to find info on the starting pay, but have not found anything about the full pay scale. Do you have info on this or link to info on this? I am interested in the steps, how many are there, how quickly do you move through them, where do you top out and how long does it take to reach top pay?
I am curious about the exam. What does it consist of? I am interested in applying for a PSE clerk at my local post office but I want to know if the exam is easy to pass before I quit my current job
I’m not understanding the beginning of what you’re asking. As for experience, you do not need experience for both positions. All they care about is your passing score.
Great video.. I'm moving from a RCA and applied for PSE Mail processing clerk. I did take the test and made 86. It did have a column with jobs I was eligible for. 1. DISPATCH COORDINATOR. not sure what that job is. Any answers? 2. Virtual entry Assessment-mp 476.
Thank you! As you said, you’ll have to complete the 476 assessment for the Dispatch Coordinator position. The Dispatch Coordinator is a pretty cool position because you don’t have someone micromanaging you. You would be in charge of the arrivals, departures, and schedules to make sure that vehicles are available to go when needed. You’ll also work with mail processing team to know when the trucks that you’re overseeing is ready for loading and unloading in a timely manner. I think this is a pretty cool position. Let me know how this goes, and good luck with your transition!
Thank you for this video!
