If the only problem is with the radio then that is a great result for a new model with all new engineering and tech. I want the CX 70 but will wait for the 2026 model year. By then the new model bugs should be dealt with and the dealers will have had some experience working on and understanding them from a service and repair aspect.

It’s a 1st year for this car. There’s gonna be bugs. That’s why there’s warranties. My car has 6k miles on it and no problems. I love the CX-90. They have to repair it or replace the car. And they have to give a loaner while they repair yours.

The dealer should either have a way to fix this (firmware or reset), or escalate the issue up to Mazda USA. The head office in Hiroshima is always very keen to see issues raised as they're very good at passing down fixes and they have a very short period of error on vehicle to permanent fix on the production line (not that helps current users, but the idea here is to always be on the look out for fixes).
You should never have to put up with flaws like this and if your dealer isn't helping, then head to a different one for a second opinion or have it escalted to Mazda USA.

@@japanwatchconnection yes, I was actually at the HQ in Hiroshima speaking with engineers. So information is from the horses mouth so to say.
I have visited the HQ in Hiroshima at least 10 times over past 15 years. Highly recommended.

I own a CX-60 PHEV that is available here in Europe for 15 months now an there have been a couple of recalls. However I did not never experienced a single problem be it software or hardware. None. I know that some problems did happen trough a Mazda forums. Of course it is a shame that the dealer can't repair the issues reported here, however a competent dealer, in my opinion ,should have no trouble in taking care of this issues. I wish the issues get solved because it is a car that is really enjoyable.

Did you get it to work? Have you tried removing all adapters from cigarrete lighter connector and other external devices? I can see your reception from phone/car is only 2 lines. Have you tried moving the car to a different location. Remember you are using HD satellite radio and the signal may be jammed. See also if you have the option to disable HD radio and SiriusXM. All the best!

The fact that the MPG display goes from 5.2 (or more) down to 4.4 tells me a couple of things. 1) You're idling the car which is going to continue to deprecate the MPG 2) That deprecation is hard to gauge, but the rate of that may suggest you have not driven very far at all since the last MPG reset. It will display an average since last reset. If you don't have a lot of miles since reset, that average is based on a short amount of time and when idling, every minute represents a much larger percentage of total run-time since the reset, impacting the average far more than if it had been driven for many hours and had an average based on that timeframe. So, while impossible to know how long this car was idling during the video filming, it dropped by .8 MPG and this may suggest the average of 5.2 (or thereabouts) nearer to the start of the video may not be based on any meaningful length of time. For example, If I fill my tank and punch the gas a few times doing local driving to a nearby lot I could park in, I'm likely to show poor MPG for that small amount of time (assuming I reset at the refill)... and then if I sit there idling, I'm going to watch that average deprecate over a relatively short period of time. HOWEVER, if I'd driven a long period of time and pulled over to idle, it will take much longer to watch it deprecate.
    Welcome to Critical Thinking 101.

The price people pay for excessive consumerism. Like many others have said, you bought a first year release of a brand new platform that will have glitches and bugs that WILL be worked out in the subsequent 2 years following the release. You're not the only Mazda customer in the world and it takes time to get TSB's out to dealers. Patience is your friend, or go and trade for a GM car in the same price range and enjoy blown engines before 10k miles. These issues are MINOR compared to other new release vehicles from other companies. Mazda deserves alot more credit for their craftsmanship. I've had 3 Mazda vehicles and they carry their weight well. The CX90 and 70 will be a great success for Mazda as they age into the market

The (similar) CX60 Radio issue was promptly fixed by a Mazda Software Update (at least in the UK). However, if you had tried the Steering Column radio controls it might have worked (that was my experience). Fickle Driver Facial Recognition Personalisation has also had software updates. I have had my (similar) CX60 almost a year and love it, but it did require a substantial number of software updates, which is simply the peril of buying a brand new model in its first year of manufacture, as there will be bugs. Glitches in suspension were resolved by replacement shocks. My dealer improved door insulation. The transmission was improved by software update. Over aggressive lane control monitoring was also fixed. You say you have recall notices, why hesitate as these updates will resolve most things? Mazda UK have been great at fixing things under warranty.

Forcing blutooth on my phonecto try to connect to CX-90 prioritized my phone and system started to work again. I went to the dealer and had a software upgrade done. Most likely an update was applied that screwed up your radio. Did you try to perform a factory reset? Do you have automatic over the air updates enabled? New model (engine, electronics, software), it's normal that there are technical service bulletins and recalls (so much software/electronics). On the other hand, if there is a range of problems that the dealer cannot resolve, then it becomes, unfortunately, a "lemon" and it doesn't matter the brand. Finally, someone that realizes these things are worthless! Thank you! I’m a Mazda tech, & the cx-90 is garbage! The repair information is just as useless as the radio too btw. Multiple cars have come in with certain DTCs that there is no diagnostic information available for. I’ve worked on cars for many years & used to enjoy it. Now it’s like working on a cellphone with wheels. Cellphones are much more reliable though…

lol I love mine and other than Mazda designated recalls I’ve had no issues thus far. Anecdotal evidence doesn’t mean shit. ✌🏻

I spent the last two years working in a used car department that sells a lot of Mazda every time a customer calls me and tells me something is wrong with a Mazda. I told them they are doing something wrong. They say no they come in and I show them what they did, for example The. Air conditioning button and wonder why it’s not cold

@@ELP1125 Yep, I have been a certified Mazda tech for about 8 years now. Honestly, their cars have been quite reliable until lately. You must drive a Miata/Mx-5 though if I’m offending you by speaking the truth.

If you wanna reliable SUV that works get Mitsubishi Outlander that is in production and continual improvement since 2012. People say it's almost bulletproof as consequence of so long production and development lifespan.

Phil Pearce, which part is the one you don't understand? This car is piece of crap as far as electronic, period.
Only worse then this I had in my life was Chrysler 300M, but no wonder it was an american car. This car is only few months on the market an it has tons of problems already. I was under the impression that it would be as good as my previous Mazda CX-9 2008 or better. What a disapointment.

Maybe try updating your infotainment system?
Also you may wanna reset the head unit by pressing music, navigation and volume button at the same time for 20 sec to reset it, it may fix it.
