Plot: The Sacrifice Comic The survivors are taken to a military base where they expect to be treated and protected however it becomes clear that the military's priorities are not about saving the survivors but rather about containment and maintaining control over the situation the military now realizing that the survivors might be carriers of the infection even though they are immune decides that they cannot risk letting them leave the military's goal is to ensure that no one potentially infected escapes even if it means killing survivors the survivors overhear the military discussing the plan to execute them to prevent the possible spread of the infection this moment is critical as it reveals the true extent of the desperation and ruthlessness of the military in dealing with the outbreak realizing they are about to be betrayed and executed the survivors decide to fight back they manag to escape the military base but their trust in any form of authority is shattered this betrayal is a significant turning point in the story as it cements the idea that the survivors are truly on their own they cannot rely on anyone but each other to survive the apocalypse as the survivors try to escape from the military base they are met with a chaotic scene infected storm the area creating a deadly environment that makes their escape perilous in a desperate bid for safety they board a train hoping it will carry them away from the chaos and danger that has become their new reality as the train pulls away the survivors leave the military territory and the infected turmoil behind there once again on the move their journey far from over but with a temporary reprieve from the immediate threat The Sacrifice: this event marks the beginning of the sacrifice campaign the ending campaign meant to conclude the story of the original left for dead lore the campaign starts in a train yard where the survivors Bill Zoe Luis and Francis find themselves after escaping from the military betrayal the survivors pass by numerous boats and Francis constantly suggests to simply take any of them but Bill refuses to listen to him and insists on finding a sailboat as to relieve their dependency on fuel as the survivors continue navigating they come across a brick Factory unfortunately their path is blocked by a stationary train that is stalled in the middle of the tracks desperate to clear the obstruction the survivors attempt to open the door of the train wagon but what they find inside is far from ordinary to their horror they discover a tank trapped inside the wagon Bill remarks with a touch of bitterness that only the military could manage to trap a tank in such a confined space with no other choice the survivors brace themselves for a fierce battle they know that dealing with the tank will be a crucial challenge if they want to move forward and continue their escape later on the survivors arrive at a shipyard where a large Bridge stands between them and their escape plan a sailboat to reach the sailboat they need to lower the bridge however due to its condition they must start three generators to complete the process starting the generators triggers a massive horde of infected forcing the survivors to fight off the attack while they work the survivors hold their ground and clear the Horde determined to keep the generators running after The Horde is dealt with they climb onto the bridge only to find it won't lower fully without manual intervention Bill volunteers to stay behind and manually restart the generator to ensure the rest of the group can escape safely he knows that this act of Bravery will likely cost him his life the remaining survivors make their way across the bridge while Bill stays behind to fight off the infected the battle is intense as Bill faces Relentless waves of zombies despite his best efforts bill is ultimately overwhelmed and sacrifices himself to ensure Zoey Luis and Francis are saved this concludes the ending of the sacrifice campaign after Bill's sacrifice the remaining survivors hold their ground on the bridge while Lewis sustains a leg wound during the events at the military base the series doesn't explicitly kill off the remaining original survivors but leaves their ultimate fate ambiguous aligning with the game's theme of survival and the unpredictable nature of the Apocalypse
I always wondered why this area attracted so many tanks, where there's always a guarantied one stuck inside the train, and the finale really floods them in, with 2 regular ones during the generator bit, and then 3 rushing you in the final part. Though it's weird in the Passing Campaign it's less dreadful on the other side of the river
You just earned a subscriber bro. I just finished your Spec Ops: The Line and your latest video. It should have been a crime to have such an underappreciated creator in your platform.
I remember I got devasted when this campaign and comic came out, I used to play as bill all the time and at the time I was wondering "why tf didn't they kill louis?!" lol
One flaw about the sacrifice campaign is that the generator you need to restart is too close to the bridge. 😂 It should at least be the generator outside the storage building.. I think maybe that was where the generator mightve originally been because the turret can cover the line of sight into that building if it weren't for the box lorry.
Its possible that it could have been a farther generator but changed it during playtesting. Just one or two special infected would be enough to ruin a player's sacrifice
I’ve seen other videos of people talking about the stories of the campaigns from the respective groups in Left 4 Dead, but you’re the one who takes the cake by a mile, in my opinion. Will there be any plans to cover the campaigns in more detail in the future? It will be such a thing to look forward to!

For me, Bill's island is just a short lived paradise. Knowing how the mutations work where body builders become hulking beasts, gastric ulcer patients become monsters that spit acid, obese people becoming large ticking time bombs, I bet there will be Micheal Phelps like zombies that can breath underwater in just a few months.
I had a hunch it was Philadelphia where the survivors started off at in Left 4 Dead! Just needed the comic to confirm it! I love this game so much, this game would’ve been great as a tv show!
The first time I played this map after a few years I got to the end and I was being swarmed from all sides. My gun ran dry and I shoved and moved inside, in my panic I was whipping my mouse around and when I saw a blue outline I grabbed it and began firing the M16 untill the infected stopped and the bridge began to lower. When I could breathe I turned around and found it was Bill's corpse I had got the rifle from. I cannot explain the feeling.
You wanna know what’s interesting the helicopter pilot being infected in No Mercy is not the survivors fault because I just played the No Mercy rooftop finale and in the radio the pilot says “Running late… had a bit of an incident” which is very similar line to the The Walking Dead Clementine’s mother says in her voicemail meaning the helicopter pilot got bit before picking up the survivors. Also another thing to add, hehe well Bill was freaking persistent in finding a sailboat even though Francis suggested that they can just take any motor boat to find a worthy candidate in fact the whole sacrifice thing could’ve totally been avoided if the crew turned around and did Francis’ suggestion
Yo, I just thought about this and here's an idea on how you could use the backstories of the L4D1 survivors: by using it once you do the No Mercy video (if you do it of course). I think it would be pretty neat to put it there.
I came to the realization recently that the l4d2 crews only chance to survive was to stick with the l4d1 survivors, they were carriers and their only chance at any kind of escape.
I’m quite surprised you didn’t mentioned the piece of wall graffiti that mentions Atlanta as a possible holdout. I’m not sure where it is, but I swear I remember seeing it
I really liked how this story played out but there was an error when the Passing campaign came out before the Sacrifice and the comic is the fact that the L4D 1 survivors would’ve warned the L4D 2 survivors not to go to New Orleans or the military would kill them, but perhaps if they added more story to it, they could’ve not told them because then they would ask to come with them on the sail boat but that would mean more mouths to feed which is why Bill’s words stands out “We look after our own.”
In the comics Louis exclaimed they are causing the crashes even though the helicopter crash isn't really their fault I should know because I played the No Mercy Rooftop finale and the helicopter pilot said "Running late... Had a bit of an incident" meaning he got bitten as he was picking up some survivors because he then said this "Looks like your my last batch" meaning the previous batch got infected and one of them practically bit the pilot
Woah, have we ever escaped on a train before?? Been too long since I’ve played. Plenty of cars, boats, planes & helicopters, but I can’t picture a traim
Man i want valve to make a live action or animated series of L4D. I mean making video games into a series can be really good like arcane, last of us, fallout, edgerunners, Castlevania. if it has an amazing story then it would be a hit im sure l4d a fan favorite game would make a great series.
One thing I never really understood was that why was the Doctor so late to going to the train? He was a carrier and he always intended to escape the base with his fellow carriers. So why did it end up that it looked like he stayed behind with the soldiers before changing his mind again and trying to chase after the train.
10:55 ok so their will be two things that they hide for the 2nd survivor group. 1st is the Military is lying 2nd is they have sail boat ( but this was node for their rule " they wont leave behind their own") Speculation " the other voice line of Zoe at l4d 2. She seems want to tell something but cut of because they are already at the car. Maybe she wants to tell them about the boat or the military. Note 2 hope if EVER a L4D3 the military guys gets some time.
Bill had faith in the army. Until he saw they're willing to kill his family. His whole life, he was a soldier. But seeing the measures the Army was taking against carriers. And how poorly they were taking the infected threat. He probably felt a great betrayal. Along side the seemingly endless mess of infected in America. Bill wanted to save all he had left. And let the world go. Zoey was always the anchor of the group. Stayong hopeful that the life she knew would one day return. Zoey had an imtresting arc. She adopted Bill's more cynical view. As she stepped up as a more realistic person. Which balances out Francis, the pessimistic. And Louis, the optimist. 😂
“never thought i’d say this….. but i’m gonna go hang out with louis.” Francis is fucking Hilarious xD

Even a ruffian like franics, the office clerk louis understood and never questioned bill.
Rip Bill/Jim French...
you know what's really sad is that if they had waited & just climb higher & went to the other side of the bridge where they met the l4d2 survivors bill might've been alive
The problem is it would've been too much of a risk... There was too much zombies and too much special infected and the lift was slow as hell (when you played the Passing it was literally slow as hell)

Alright I could be overthinking, but I like the detail of Louis knowing what an APC stands for, given that he couldve likely been into tactical stuff with his liking of video games and using the shooting range as a pass time during lunch before the apocalypse.
Plot:
The Sacrifice Comic
The survivors are taken to a military base where they expect to be treated and protected however it becomes clear that the military's priorities are not about saving the survivors but rather about containment and maintaining control over the situation the military now realizing that the survivors might be carriers of the infection even though they are immune decides that they cannot risk letting them leave the military's goal is to ensure that no one potentially infected escapes even if it means killing survivors the survivors overhear the military discussing the plan to execute them to prevent the possible spread of the infection this moment is critical as it reveals the true extent of the desperation and ruthlessness of the military in dealing with the outbreak realizing they are about to be betrayed and executed the survivors decide to fight back they manag to escape the military base but their trust in any form of authority is shattered this betrayal is a significant turning point in the story as it cements the idea that the survivors are truly on their own they cannot rely on anyone but each other to survive the apocalypse as the survivors try to escape from the military base they are met with a chaotic scene infected storm the area creating a deadly environment that makes their escape perilous in a desperate bid for safety they board a train hoping it will carry them away from the chaos and danger that has become their new reality as the train pulls away the survivors leave the military territory and the infected turmoil behind there once again on the move their journey far from over but with a temporary reprieve from the immediate threat
The Sacrifice:
this event marks the beginning of the sacrifice campaign the ending campaign meant to conclude the story of the original left for dead lore the campaign starts in a train yard where the survivors Bill Zoe Luis and Francis find themselves after escaping from the military betrayal the survivors pass by numerous boats and Francis constantly suggests to simply take any of them but Bill refuses to listen to him and insists on finding a sailboat as to relieve their dependency on fuel as the survivors continue navigating they come across a brick Factory unfortunately their path is blocked by a stationary train that is stalled in the middle of the tracks desperate to clear the obstruction the survivors attempt to open the door of the train wagon but what they find inside is far from ordinary to their horror they discover a tank trapped inside the wagon Bill remarks with a touch of bitterness that only the military could manage to trap a tank in such a confined space with no other choice the survivors brace themselves for a fierce battle they know that dealing with the tank will be a crucial challenge if they want to move forward and continue their escape later on the survivors arrive at a shipyard where a large Bridge stands between them and their escape plan a sailboat to reach the sailboat they need to lower the bridge however due to its condition they must start three generators to complete the process starting the generators triggers a massive horde of infected forcing the survivors to fight off the attack while they work the survivors hold their ground and clear the Horde determined to keep the generators running after The Horde is dealt with they climb onto the bridge only to find it won't lower fully without manual intervention Bill volunteers to stay behind and manually restart the generator to ensure the rest of the group can escape safely he knows that this act of Bravery will likely cost him his life the remaining survivors make their way across the bridge while Bill stays behind to fight off the infected the battle is intense as Bill faces Relentless waves of zombies despite his best efforts bill is ultimately overwhelmed and sacrifices himself to ensure Zoey Luis and Francis are saved this concludes the ending of the sacrifice campaign after Bill's sacrifice the remaining survivors hold their ground on the bridge while Lewis sustains a leg wound during the events at the military base the series doesn't explicitly kill off the remaining original survivors but leaves their ultimate fate ambiguous aligning with the game's theme of survival and the unpredictable nature of the Apocalypse
Luckily, Bill learned how to become one with the Force.
Thank you very much
It means more then you know.
Absolutely love the story writing. I didn’t know I have missed so much detail if it wasn’t for this video.
Rest In Peace the GOAT Bill
Saw ur video on the Parish, loved that, so I was so excited to see this pop up. Yet another banger from Conz 🤙🤙🤙
I'm glad you liked it.
Thank you for the comment
One of my Favorite Campaigns
7:14 Umm... Bill, that Doctor would've been very useful to your crew. 😢 This is probably why he ends up in DBD. 😂
I remember I got devasted when this campaign and comic came out, I used to play as bill all the time and at the time I was wondering "why tf didn't they kill louis?!" lol
the guys doing Arcane should pick up L4D and make a series out of it, a map a season.
Your videos are fun to watch perfect for pass time more power to the channel ❤
Bill was a great character. The sacrifice made me cry.
@@Nebularban yeah even when it was that close, one jockey or charger or tank's rock throw and you got down instantly
im surprised no one talked about heavy tf2 at 1:57
Oh lol
Wouldnt noticed it if no one told me to lmao 😂😂😂😂
Zoey: chastises Bill for 'enjoying' the apocalypse
Also Zoey: "pilots license...revoked. WOOOOOOO-"
These two videos are so fire 🔥 growing up LFD and LFD 2 were my favorite games
YOU SHOULD DO ONE ON THE PASSING NEXT!
4:31
Bill over here beating Zombies with a fuckin chair like he’s Jerome from Halo
I’ve seen other videos of people talking about the stories of the campaigns from the respective groups in Left 4 Dead, but you’re the one who takes the cake by a mile, in my opinion. Will there be any plans to cover the campaigns in more detail in the future? It will be such a thing to look forward to!
I try to do everything but left 4 dead content is on high demand at the moment. So yes, expect l4d videos in the future, and the passing will likely be the nest campaign video
@@ImNotConz That's awesome! Can't wait to see the next video. This may not be the right time for me to say this, but take your time as well, if you need it. Not everyone can be like robots and do things tirelessly. I support your journey!
@@moshimic5628 I appreciate it, thank you. But thankfully my life is very uneventful at this moment in time so expect that video to be up in the next 2 weeks or so.
Thank you for the kind words, it does go a long way.
Thanks. I never read the comic and this added a lot to the story.
Poor one out for Annie and Jeff, they were real ones
On the passing you can find bill dead 😢
For me, Bill's island is just a short lived paradise. Knowing how the mutations work where body builders become hulking beasts, gastric ulcer patients become monsters that spit acid, obese people becoming large ticking time bombs, I bet there will be Micheal Phelps like zombies that can breath underwater in just a few months.
Great content man, hopefully you keeping growing 🙏🏻
I like how you go straight to the point for the video
I had a hunch it was Philadelphia where the survivors started off at in Left 4 Dead! Just needed the comic to confirm it! I love this game so much, this game would’ve been great as a tv show!
12:18 not just in L4D but, in all video games ever
Bill still brings tears to your eyes😢
Man this an eye opening for me. Never thought they had a comics for the L4D gang
It'd be so dope if there was a L4D Animated Series.
Then Bill wakes up in Dead by Daylight. Permanently stuck in a endless loop of chase, pain and death
This campaign alone tells a lot why Bill is a veteran
I was just playing the swamp camping on L4D2 and a tank spawned and Ellis said Bill’s here, I thought this was pretty cool
I was thinking the same about the Mark detail
The first time I played this map after a few years I got to the end and I was being swarmed from all sides. My gun ran dry and I shoved and moved inside, in my panic I was whipping my mouse around and when I saw a blue outline I grabbed it and began firing the M16 untill the infected stopped and the bridge began to lower. When I could breathe I turned around and found it was Bill's corpse I had got the rifle from. I cannot explain the feeling.
That's a cool fucking moment
Actual cinema shit there lol
@@ImNotConz i felt. Ooooh. I FELT.
Top tier video thank you for the content!
Thank you for the comment
I'm glad you enjoyed it
Yo, I just thought about this and here's an idea on how you could use the backstories of the L4D1 survivors: by using it once you do the No Mercy video (if you do it of course). I think it would be pretty neat to put it there.
Jesus Christ all the tears for Bill :-:,,,
Francis prediction is on spot
I came to the realization recently that the l4d2 crews only chance to survive was to stick with the l4d1 survivors, they were carriers and their only chance at any kind of escape.
hoping to release more content like this
These are good. I love left 4 dead. Keep this up
Peak story telling.
I mean, Bill was already at his 60's. If I were in that situation I'd sacrifice myself for the younglings too.
Wouldn’t it be cool if Annie and Jeff made a cameo in a future left 4 dead game (if they make one) or maybe even playable characters
That player name was something alright
Phenomenal work ❤more please
Working on it rn
A few more days at the most
@@ImNotConz thank you, take your time
If anyone wonders if turtle rock or Valve did the heavy lifting for L4D, Back 4 Blood gives you that answer. It was Valve.
I’m not crying, you’re crying 😭
One thing I never really understood was that why was the Doctor so late to going to the train? He was a carrier and he always intended to escape the base with his fellow carriers.
So why did it end up that it looked like he stayed behind with the soldiers before changing his mind again and trying to chase after the train.
Not story connected really but always annoyed me in level 2 how the big horde event is triggered by...a couple of birds flying away
Looking back, it's kind of a shame we didn't get a scene between Bill and the Lt or Major, given he's a Nam vet
Could have been interesting
Also I always really liked the 2 soldiers that helped the gang, the were cool :')
Bill just wants to go to Tahiti and eat mangoes
It would be cool if someone made a campaign about Fort Millhaven.
nice video
Francis- shit, zoey IS PISSED
Good video I subscribed since your parrish video could you make Passing story next ?
Yea, why not.
Man, wish Valve did more comics like this. Maybe for L4D2 or Half-Life
Redemption 2 map seems kinda accurate for this comic before the sacrifice
at least he got a fire skin in dbd's 8th anniversary
If we weren't going to get Left 4 dead 3, they might as well just continued making comics
I'm surprised Valve can't count to three when they can subtract from four
10:55 ok so their will be two things that they hide for the 2nd survivor group.
1st is the Military is lying
2nd is they have sail boat ( but this was node for their rule " they wont leave behind their own")
Speculation " the other voice line of Zoe at l4d 2. She seems want to tell something but cut of because they are already at the car. Maybe she wants to tell them about the boat or the military.
Note 2 hope if EVER a L4D3 the military guys gets some time.
Save me some sugar.....
WOOOO!!!! MOAAARRR!!!
