I *LOVED* the Battlefront Hailfires, but I hated how the rockets veered off almost immediately after firing. Made the rockets useless unless you're right up next to an enemy
It is important to remember that the Empire is incredibly corrupt, had not fought an actual war for a while, was in a massive economic recession, had a ridiculous amount of territory to cover, had far to many soldiers, and did not expect to fight any wars for a while. In such times the good idea fairy comes around and gives you good idea that are reinforced by your lack of experience. The older generations could likely see that something was a bad idea, unless they also drank the Kool-Aid or were bought off. In such a system cheap, easily produced, politically expedient, and simple weapons are preferred over more quality products. Conversely, the Republic had a much smaller army, more money, and a singular vision for how the GAR fought. The Seperatists had Greivous, all the money, and a lot of manufacturing capacity. I always loved how the ordnance launchers on the AAT had burn marks on the paint, implying their regular use without having to show it all the time. I maintain that the greatest flaw with the AAT lies with it's crew and not it's design. They were able to go toe-to-toe with Clone-driven vehicles, despite their own garbage crews. That means that, with a proper, competent, crew, they'd probably be real monsters in battle.

If the Empire kept the AAT and the B-X Battle Droids as a part of the Imperial Army and Stormtrooper corps the Galactic Civil War would have been way different than It was. CIS assets were generally cheaper and efficient, trashing them outright was a huge mistake, 10 AATs are way more efficient than an AT-AT or AT-STs.
AT-STs are actually pretty good. Their ability to travel in all types of terrain was OP The AT-ATs whole purpose was intimidating resistance. Wasn’t made for a out war with the rebels. After the destruction of the CIS there wasn’t an army that “should” of posed a threat to the empire
The more I think about it, if the separatists waged a real war against the republic, Dooku would have won. His forces were almost completely automated. I think for the original Xbox battle front the aat is the best of all the ground vehicles in the game. But I am looking forward to hearing what you guys think.
The Hallfire droid highlights a recurring, baffling part of Star Wars/in-universe lore: completely nonsensical doctrine. That unit is basically an upjumped real life MLRS system, but it gets used as a assault unit rather than careful maneuvering battery/counter-battery operations. Honestly I get it, a lot of Star Wars tech is 'spectacle first' but when you break it down, so much of it makes little sense as actual military hardware used by militaries who...want to win. It reminds me of how despite having insane technology you see basically no over-the-horizon or BVR engagement with standoff weapons.
I wish the empire took the gunship and created an empire version. Put a man inside it and the empire had a terrestrial gunship that could terrorize the rebels to no end.
While it's very true that droid piloted craft can take turns no 'meatbag' pilot can survive, it has no real way to invent maneuvers aside from it's preprogrammed set. There's a reason Imperial and Rebel Aces dominated star-fighter battles after the clone wars, the advanced adaptability of organic pilots that can turn their enemies' own strengths against them. I wouldn't go so far as to say Droid piloted star-fighters have no role in a well curated fleet but I would definitely limit their role to high risk mission profiles with little or no chance of return. An organic pilot has the luxury of being able to learn multiple crafts' controls and roles but investing the resources to make droid brains as interchangeable would ruin the specialization of droid piloted fighters. Another strength of organic pilots exemplified by the Empire is that no matter how many factories for droid brains you build, there's always more humans in the galaxy than expensive pieces of specialized circuitry. A droid pilot can meet its performance standards but I've never seen a vulture droid get a commendation for beating the odds. However the most damning thing I can say about droid craft isn't a factor of who built it, or even if it could or couldn't be better than an organic pilot by every measurement. No the most damning thing about droids is specific to star wars... there's just no such thing as a droid with The Force.
Why the heck are you using a Atlesian Frigate (I understood that reference) to show the size of the Subjugator Class? Why not a ship that exists in that universe?
