It's worth mentioning that the larger variant of the Providence would actually be 8x the size of the standard version. If it is about exactly double the dimensions of the standard variant, then it is 2x the length, 2x the height, and 2x the width, for a total of 8x the overall size/volume (2x2x2). If I remember the math right, this also means it had 4x the surface area of the standard Providence, meaning 4x the space to mount weapons and such. With 8x the volume, that's potentially 8x the fighter/bomber complement, and 8x the ground troop complement of a regular Providence. Plus, since it would have 4x the surface area but 8x the volume, that means that the designers could have packed 4x as many weapons, shield generators, etc onto the hull, but 8x as much power generation to power it all, meaning that it would have proportionately double the available power for each of those systems compared to the smaller version, which would make the up-sized Providence significantly deadlier than "4x the weaponry" would imply, and significantly tougher than "4x the shield generation capacity" would suggest. The upscale Providence Dreadnought would truly be a BEAST of a warship, one that would almost certainly be at least a match for an Imperator-I in a one-on-one slugging match, if not superior to that later design.
I really do wish we got to see more of the dreadnaught variant, I can only imagine how sick it would've been to see wings of vulture droids flock out of its gargantuan hangars. Another excellent breakdown!

1.5 million battle droids. Per ship. This is why the CIS would have won without the meddling of Dooku and Sidious. They outnumbered the clones at least 10 to 1. And without using a slave army.
That's debatable. The clones were originally basically meat droids and the droids were more sentient then you expect. It was always meant to be a both sides are bad because they're both manipulated by sidious, but of course TCW ruined that. They both were slaves, the only difference being what they're made of. Attacking the medical station technically wasn’t a war crime, but demanding it surrender and that the ships around it surrender- isn’t. Ultimately killing retreating soldiers is still valid as a tactic, as the CIS knows they can just be repaired and sent back out. Same reason why CIS droid armies would get shot at even while retreating.
NerdZ,even though it's not mentioned in my headcanon I think the 2km version of the Providence-class can carry twice as many droids and ships than its normal version. Perhaps a 2km can carry 3 million droids, 92,000 passengers and 420 Starfighter droids

Considering how many torpedoes, a Providence-Class Dreadnought had, it would probably make mincemeat out of mostly all Republic ships that tried to take it on in an underwater battle. It's in my opinion a bit of a missed opportunity that in the Clone Wars show, during the Battle of Mon Kala that the Quarren (later CIS occupation forces after the Quarren getting dooped was revaled) did not have any underwater warships on their side. It would have been quite interesting to see how the Republic dealt with something like that - That during the heat of battle a bunch of CIS ships came screaming in to make a dive for the ocean, with one smashing into the Venator that brought the Gungan backup to just sink it flat out by kamikazing it for good measure, while the others go underwater to join the CIS occupation forces. (Noting here - Why aren't we shown cases of the CIS using their droid operated ships in desperate moments as giant ballistic missiles? If you have Republic ships down in atmosphere mostly stationary, and the battle for space supremacy seems lost, with retreat either only possible in limited ability/is not possible, a CIS commander has nothing to lose in ordering some of their ships to act as a sort of very large"rods from the gods" type battering ram. Heck, they could even get desperately brave, and just order a ship to pull in essence a hyperspace ram where the ship jumps down towards the planet aimed at a Republic ship, and then the ship gets pulled out of hyperspace by the mass shadow of the ship/planet thus reverting it to real space, but keeping momentum to make interception/dodging harder. Even accounting for if atmospheres interferes with the full functionality, it would, I suppose be worth it to just tell the droids operating it to go for it to see what happens if all Sith hit the fan. At the very least, it would cause some panic and disarray as debris rains down if the ship gets close enough to the area it's aimed at. Even if ships can dodge, infantry on the ground sure cant. Got a clone force advancing with an annoyingly hard to kill Jedi leading em? Time to do a battlefield decommission, and drop a warship onto them if orbital bombardment aint an option. For some of the Jedi, considering how ridiculously good they are at surviving situations, bombing em from orbit seems like worth a shot when other things fail. A fried continent or two is worth some of the heavy hitter Jedi dead, aint it?)
My favorite separatist ship and probably one of my top 3 of SW as a whole
The Invisible Hand Cantina on Coruscant is one of my favorite piece of lore ever. I wish you had brought it up.
Wait....WHAT?! don't Tell me they turned the wreck into a bar?!
@@NexusDex yep. The Back Half was a cantina on Coruscant crushed by the back half of the Invisible Hand. The owner of the Back Half took the wreckage and rebuilt his cantina and rebranded to the Invisible Hand Cantina. I like the name Back Hand more though.
Oh no, my cantina...
I smell profit!
@@spencersholden I wonder if he found Dooku's head and used it as a desplay.
@@metaknight115the Republic striped everything of value from the wreck. More likely that Dooku’s body was vaporized. The thing had no shields on re-entry.
This really is a perfect warship.
Is funny how the capital ships of the droid army have a more organic shape than the capital ships of the army made of living beings
I love how chill-less the republic was with the ship carrying the supreme fuckin chancellor
Great video
when trench got beat the first time he was like "damn, i spoke too soon"
I wish they made a story where a shipyard had continued to build ships long after the war had ended. And that it help in the rebel war effort. Possible distracting a good chunk of the imperial star destroyers in a different part of the galaxy during the battle of Endor
Fun fact: in legends there actually was a secret shipyard at Mon Cala that made almost a 1000 mon cala ships and it had a providence protecting it named Rebel One, it was a regular providence destroyer with Recausant Engines jammed in the back (so the 3 engines of the Providence + the 3 Engines of the Recausant) and the hangar was replaced with wings with engines and more weaponry attached, it was fast enough to not only blitz through enemy lines but also keep up with some corvettes as well as outgun Imperial star destroyers
Would be useful for the Community if you could put the name of the games on the description
The quality of the ship is amazing ... it can land on Coruscant despite being snapped in 2 ...
