What I really like about the last stages of the Clone Wars is the whole design and aesthetic concept of the CIS army. You can really feel this in the last season of Clone Wars, it feels much darker, more efficient and fear mongering. It's like an overall new design layer and it's interesting to think about to which levels it would have been advanced if the war went on.
I love aqua droids they are so cool commando droids super tactical droids spider droid and Crab Droids are some of my favorite Droids in all of star wars
I truely never expected the Buzzdroids to actually pick a fight with the infantry that’s twice their own size & basically rip apart anything that they can get their grubby tools on. Absolutely love the little gremlins.
Ah, good to see the Protodeka again. I miss this thing. It mopped the floor with me back my early days of gaming, but I grew to love it for it's absurd size and power. My headcanon around it has it used a fair bit more than it actually was, and it's not mentioned coz in those instances, no one survived. I think that's fitting for the Protodeka.
By the way @geestlys you should make one or a series of videos about the members of Palpatine's inner circle such as Sate Pestage, Kinman Doriana, Mas Amedda, Sly Moore or Armand Isard to present them and their role in the Sith Grand Plan, rise of the Empire and relation with Palpatine.
I love the carcinization bit when talking about crab droids, it's one of my favorite fun facts about nature and now that you mention it, the best combat droids are crab like (spider droids, crab droids, etc)
This channel has talked a lot about the Droids of the Separtists, but we still have others we can discuss. Like how about those IG Droids that Durge had as his lancer squad during the Battle of Munnalist?
On the topic of when commando droids were first developed, There is a line of dialog from one in Jedi: Survivors that suggests they existed at least 5 years before the clone wars officially broke out, potentially explaining how the Kaminoans could have lookalikes already, as they may have been known before the war, just far less common.
Unsure, it kinda seems like it may have been something the designers of Survivors may not have thought about when they made the voice line, but I would assume the B2s did come first sometime after the phantom menace
It could be that they began producing BX commandos earlier, then designed the B2 droids as a more mass produced alternative. That would explain why their design is closer to the B1. Alternatively the B2 units were also designed around the same time, but were only revealed at Geonosis when the separatist movement was officially formed
@@kyrrotiNo. The B1 is an optimized version of the Trade Federation Security Droid, which was already being massed produced many years before the clone wars. Droidekas were also already used by the Trade Federation at that at.
I think its also Implied that Super Tactical droids would also make and carry out plans without higherup approval. For example the clone wars arc where just by chance R2 D2 and the Droid gang stumbled across ones attempt to blow up half the republic leadership, including Anakin. I dont believe that was sanctioned by Palpatine or Doku considering the Republic sas meant to win in the end and Anakin was suppossed to become palpatines new apprentice.
No wonder the Rebel Alliance refrain from using these Droids that struck fear into the galaxy and the Empire would use that fear if the Rebels acquired the Droids on their side.
He said those things were fast, but I’ve never seen any of them move at anything more an extremely slow walk. (On TV at least. In the Lego Star Wars video game, they can scuttle on their four legs horrifyingly fast.)
Super Tactical droids probably the most dangerous when they’re equipped. But the crab and chameleon droids are horrifying to imagine fighting at least considerably more than the others, especially if you’re not a decently organized military or a force user.
I feel like a combination of the Crab Droid and the Dwarf Spider Droid would be a complete nightmare. All the armor and speed with all the firepower and intelligence
8:00 I would also argue, that BX's main specialty was close quarters combat, and their advantage on an open battlefield would be minimal in comparison to B1s. At least with B1 you can rebuild then more easily, without too many expensive replacements, by design.
You'd figure things things like bino an other easy enough gear for droids woulda been literally built in to them.. at least in specialists like Commandos, scouts an snipers of wasn't feasible for the whole army
I just had to go looking for that info myself. The 08 Clone Wars movie and the Clone Wars show are, in fact, canon according to Disney. So I'm not sure why he keeps saying it isn't. It's the 03 Clone Wars animated short series that isn't canon.
yep , buzz droids is one of those very few times when a 'supposed' ''oh ffs another quirky design to just carry on the starwars theme of quirky/disturbing looks'' that even without a universe having 'ftl' or 'warp' as its its mechanics for travle apparently turns into when spoken of in greater detail XD because , hey , just a tiny bit adjustment of those thrusters , turn them to neutron ones or considering there is space left inside that shell , add tiny 'synthesis vat' with its reactor for chemical fuel , or flat out turn the shells to double up as solar planels to and well , they be near impossible to detected at long ranges ,yet can maintain orbit for centuries and best of all if a ship comes sniffing , slowed down to take proper sensor readings of a location ....here comes lunch , and best of all tools to dismantle can often double up as tools of construction so even lacking long range comes they could be capable to reconfigure one and also consume poor ships like invasive bacteria or viruses as raw material to set up local asteroid industries to start establish infrastructure at a foe , or if from a civilization acting more like a virus itself.. unfortunate victims expense
hmm , a decent droid force to use the basic B1 but the 'semi realism one' aka sure got a central control to enhance them but they can operate on their own and 'local network' to boost long term tactics adaptation yet i'd keep them highly 'organic sentient' though without the overly 'comedic coward' stupidity as a central control in that case could be an option to 'inspire' quite the opposite with the potential for 'reincarnation' , and then the b2 or what the 'up armoured' silver version be called , though for 'tacitcal' droids ,only the 'improved' one then the commando droids and dwarf spider ones , though i'd honestly pass up their 'larger cousins' and take crab droids instead as their chasi and 'any surface' + close quater potential when six limbed should be an potential better core for the chamelion droid concept wich also help with the minature infiltration versions cognitive talents software development and obviously most of the 'aquatic' ones just because well its a bit lack luster but need the templates just incase theres a aqua world one has to take 'intact' and of course.. BUZZ DROIDS! sure got hauler trucks etc , but those be the ones produced in swarms , be it to assist during combat , be left as 'mines' in space or just sweet battle fields like a locust swarm cutting up everything into easy to haul of salvage pieces or salvage potential software info before its scrapped!
The only Tactical Droid who was pretty smart was the second one in charge of village. Unfortunately for that Tactical Droid, despite his pretty smart tactics, he underestimated Obi Wan and his Clone Trooper battalion. Ironically, he was destroyed; not at the hands of the Clone Troopers or Obi Wan but the very Twi'lieks who he held hostage.
The Clone Wars has always been Canon for one reason even post Disney purchase, both it and rebels is owned and was created by Disney. Reason they couldn't make Bane legends cause he was made Canon in Yoda's arc to find the Will's of the Force. Thank Dave Faloni for a lot of stuff that stayed Canon cause he put it in the Clone Wars and Rebels.
The Droideka would’ve been even more terrifying if launched out of those droid tanks
Genius
That would look amazing
@@Thunder-Ghost it would’ve been amazing to see onscreen
Do you mean Mtt?
Mtt can transport Droidekas too
@@marcelxd1633 I was thinking of a launch tube for those droids
I was today years old when I found out B-1s were held together magnetically.
That makes sense for the whole head poppy-offy bit.
The picture with aqua droids on geonosis hurts my brain
DROIDS ARE DROIDS!!!
What can I say, they’re versatile droids😂 (it makes no sense)
Hey, they gotta hit that algorithm somehow lol
They can operate on land, just not as well as water. So hey, the Clone Commandos were the only ones out of their element in that first battle. lol.

Ik that they can operate on land too
But why use AQUA droids on a planet with no water xD

Pretty sure this channel only has S and sometimes A Tier Videos.
I'm an electronic technician, and I read schematic all day long. But since I like these stories, I will listen to the whole thing.
Personally I’d have a reprogrammed buzz droid as a pet
I'd take a DSD 😅 and some Buzz droids as well 😂
The funny little sounds they make, heh.
Just make sure you declaw it if you don’t want it to mutilate your furniture.
