- We have all seen numerous articles and studies claiming the benefits of step count, with rather different figures being recommended.

Fun fact: walking 10,000 steps per day is less expensive than a gym membership
Doesn't build muscle though
@@therealcarlxiiit does if you walk backwards
@@Mr.BobsDog If you had about zero muscle before. It's like bodyweight squats for example. You will build a minimal amount of muscle but quickly hit a point where it's not enough resistance for any kind of muscle growth stimulus.
I walk 30 minutes to work every day. I was struggling for the first 2 months. Now i feel much better. I walk early in the morning, before the car pollution starts and love fresh air. Wouldn't change this for the world.
I agree, even if you hav a car, it'd be good to keep up walking for a good mix of health
I've been on 10,000 steps a day for years, without any other exercise. Never felt better 👍🏼
Yes, it's the best exercise for everyone.
I have nearly 20k by the end of my normal day. That's with work, working out, and doing my daily chores at home.
I got a walking pad in my office. 27k steps on average per day.
There's no such thing as an exact step count. Just stay active, in all seasons. Be happy!. Thanks it!
I started walking up steep hills near me recently and I felt great afterwards. I found it really rewarding.
That’s a great idea.
Yep, ascents are even better because you're doing extra work against gravity. That's partly why many gym treadmills can be inclined (but personally i'd rather be outside too).
With a target of 6k I am more consistent. The thought of having to achieve 10k often makes me give it up altogether.
That's fair, though maybe you can try to bump it up to 7k for a week, if at all possible. Maybe walk to the convenience store instead of driving if it's close by, especially on a day you are not working. It's an easy way to get a bit more walking in and it has a (probably unhealthy, but you earned it) reward at the end.😊
Great advice!🎉
Thank you!
We are created to be active and not to sit for a long time.
Very true.
That is better
Lifting weights, as the vid show when mentioning it, is not the offset to walk 10 000 steps. If you meant using a treadmill though, then yes.
Not watching the news keeps you healthier!
Better stop then hadn’t you.
Yet here you are.
@@DB-gl3jx am I? I'm making a valid point and you know it's true!
But not a step footing on Assumption uni campus. Abac stole conversation from school office, uploading without teachers’ awareness led to many times dead accidents. Every corner is tape recorder, your first step at Abac means death, I was a victim.
Our hunter-gatherer ancestors averaged 18,000 steps. This number is based on studies of the few remaining ones left.
Homo sapiens have evolved to be constantly active throughout the day, which is why desk jobs, driving, etc, are so bad for you. They did studies on bus drivers and bus ticket inspectors in the 60s/70s. They found bus drivers were far more likely to have a heart attack.
They lived with and studied them. There's still a few hunter-gatherer tribes left. I think it was The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter that I read about this study. It could also have been The Hunter Gatherers Guide to the 21st century, though. I've listened to quite a few books on audible.
Even one step in my favourite town is better. 🏠🏡🏠
news paper flown up in
And I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more just to be the man who walks 1000 miles... to stay healthy
Hamstring stretches are good
I can touch my toes
Yeyyyy!
Not if you have peripheral neuropathy.
Yes you can
I work as a Gardner and average 1400 a day over a year average !!! Some days I hit 30000
30000?
No
That's around 5miles give or take, bbc should encourage not doubt and discourage.
I do it almost every morning plus 10km twice a day on the exercise bike and with a diet given to me by dieticians I lost 30kg, I started the diet on 30 June 2023
Walk the talk❤❤🎉🎉
Happiness is the key 💯, God is the greatest and I will continue serving him till I'm no more. Having a fresh 23k coming every week ain't a joke. I can help out now and support the Lord's work❤❤❤❤❤❤😊

financially, how was that possible?
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Elizabeth Marie) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her 😊 from Brisbane Australia🇦🇺
I have heard a lot of wonderful things about Elizabeth Marie on the news but didn't believe it until now. I'm definitely trying her out
Same here, with my current portfolio made from my investments with my personal financial advisor (Elizabeth Marie) I totally agree with you
She's always active on What's APK
Meanwhile me doing 27k on average per day (got a walking pad in my office), running twice a week and strength training four times a week.
World class news right here people. World class.
Would go for walks but feel worse not better😢
Why?
-Get better shoes (seriously)
-Make it fun by going on walks other neighborhoods, go discover stuff, go see the fancy houses, go downtown, get lost. Tourists always easily break 10k steps aha
-Find podcasts (or new music) to listen to on your walks, you'd be surprised how their release schedule will make you WANT to go walk/have an excuse to take time to listen when a new one comes out.
-It takes weeks to see and feel changes, trust the process and go every. single. day.
-Don't jaywalk, it lessens the odds of a dumb moment ruining your life.
Run run

Wasn’t the idea of 10,000 steps a day created by a Japanese company to promote their pedometer?
if it did then bbc would not tell everybody to buy mg motors car
Where's the enterview of Guyana's President, Mohamed Irfaan Ali, debunking the BBC reporter's narratives?

Oh dude.
I'm so embarrassed for you right now
Don’t need to watch this. Answer is obviously no
That's why they made the vid. It's low brow clickbait. Typical beeb.

That cant be good for your joints in the long term. As long as youre not sitting down all day youre good
What can't be good? Walking 8000 steps? lmao that's not very much walking
10000 steps aren't that many, won't even do anything to the jojnt, might make them better
Joints do not have any way of getting blood and nutrients without movement of said joints. Just something to consider.
@@sagardahiya6138 Thats 5 miles, 35 miles a week. Thats not normal
@@Invincibleagent walking 35 miles a week is unnecessary. I walk maybe a mile a day and my bp is 90

Just buy a bike, walking is tedious and bad for joints
Lol nah
Walking a lot helped my joints to recover from powerlifting
@@therealcarlxiiWell it depends on the cardio, but walking is like, free cardio and stretching. I don't know why people hate on it so much. Running and heavy rucking are what do your joints in, especially if you have derpy shoes, like me.😢
wow
Not watching the BBC will help your mental state!
And yet here you are.
🤡
You are eating too many carbohydrates and so taking too many calories. 😆
For only $6,949! You can own a Chinese Xiaomi new energy car! The cheap competitive advantage brought by China’s cheap labor force! And commodity dumping! It’s what you call overcapacity! But in the Chinese government, these are all competitions Advantage!
Eat better. Don't drink alchohol. Hydrate properly. Get adequate sleep routine. Walking 10,000 steps won't do anything atall if 'diet' is not on point but sure is better than no steps, its merely ok but certainly not key on its own to staying healthier.
Yeah cos how many streps you gonna do in your 15 mins zones?
Bullshit on age. 60 is not old.
70% of staying healthy comes from eating healthy food.
