Jungkooks basic closet *filled with timberlands* same I have thick hair and I found out yesterday I was scratching my hair and when I pulled it I saw a adult lice on my finger 😬😩
Jungkooks basic closet *filled with timberlands* I feel it was my friend that gave it to me cause once I found my friend with a live on her head I immediately told her and she’s like OMG so we went to the bathroom and told the teacher what happen and he understood so we went and I took it off for her and wash her hair then when I was coming home I scratch my head and found it😅I haven’t told my mom yet 😬
Caren Nicole Lano i use tea tree oil and coconut oil. First melt the coconut oil by melting by putting a cup of it in a bowl of hot water. And then I put as much as tea tree oil as i want and add vitamin e oil. Leave it on for as long as u like and shampoo your hair twice and condition once. It works!! It also helps with hair growth and softer hair
learning this will not only help you but everyone you tell. Coconut oil is very cheap and last forever. when it is warm it will melt but it will get solid again in the fridge. It smell great and softens ALL of you .It can be eaten as well. learn how many things it can help with. KNOWLEDGE is POWER.
I have it right now! Ive been struggling with it please help i just want no lice what am i doing wrong and just so you know lice like clean hair! your not dirty, how did you get rid of them?
Well it sucks for us dads too. I'm divorced and I just spent 3 hours with the nit terminator combing over 100 off of each of my daughters... This was after their mom made her "best efforts" two days in a row.
Thank you for your desire to help others and help dispel stigma. My aunt raised me and was very prejudiced. She would rant about black people spreading lice. A neighbor lady, public school teacher, shut her down fast. She told my aunt that people who usually use oil based hair products don't get or have head lice. She went on to inform her that it was usually the white kids who were the ones bringing the lice into the school. The neighbor laughed when she told me later because it was the only time she saw my aunt speechless! Cuddos for spreading good help and good will. Regards.
umm, yes black kids can get it as well. Ive even seen it on UA-cam for headlice videos. I get worried my kids will get it this year at school. Its not as common for black people to get it, but its possible.
@@justrandom4u714 Thank you for your response. I agree, but at the time of my conversations with the neighbor, most people of dark color used hairdressing which would have made it very difficult to get head lice. It was the vehemently way my aunt chose to put down other people. Oh, man! I could tell you stories that would make Mr. Trump’s supporters sound sane and rational. I think the only admission about whites she stated as being bad was when she said there’s nothing lower than a (fill in any derogatory racial, religious, nationality, or political group here) is white trash. The attempt to elevate oneself above others to dehumanize and not treat them equally has been a problem with humans since the beginning. The Dutch invading African lands told one tribe was better than another, perpetrated that lie for centuries, and it is directly responsible for the genocide in Rwanda. Arrogance. Sincere ignorance. Conscientious stupidity. Remember what MLK, Jr. said, “Nothing is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” I see and hear this garbage everyday when someone somewhere tries to justify their choices and behavior which causes harm to others. Sorry, my soapbox was too comfortable. I’m getting off it now. Regards to you!
@@Yourmamaboi I've tried these methods but they keep coming back at the moment im using olive oil and they are slipping right off then wet combing constantly through the hair. I found vinegar is the least effective. I got super nits😭😭😭
@SarahLove I see that it's been 2 months ago since you posted, have you been able to clear your scalp of the lice? My daughter just got lice from a little girl that she plays with. I bought OGX brand refreshing scalp+ teatree mint shampoo. It has tea tree oil, peppermint and witch hazel its a small green bottle with white writing and gold lid, also it's sulfate free and they don't test on animals. Girl let me tell you, it's a thick gel shampoo I squirted a big handful of it into my hand and scrubbed my daughter's hair and then put her hair into a bun, covered it with a bag then let the shampoo sit for 30 minutes and washed it out. When I combed through her hair and the lice were dead! I then soaked her hair in a lot of organic olive oil all evening and through the night and washed it out in the morning. We're going to scrub the shampoo in and let it set for 30 minutes to an hour for the next two weeks. Her hair is so thick and I was so happy that the shampoo worked! I will try to post a link so you can see the bottle, but I believe that any shampoo with tea tree and peppermint in it would work. I hope this helps you get some relief from the lice cycle and get rid of them for good! God bless you 😊
@SarahLove I was able to find the one I bought. There's another one though it's Hydrate+ it's got Australian tea tree oil, milk protein and peppermint oil in it. It will probably work too but I didn't see that one with I bought mine. I would go with the one that has the strongest tea tree oil smell. I really hope this helps!😊 images.app.goo.gl/D7HLWD1cYSgnwnuW9
Head lice do not like greasy hair. I grew up in Hawaii lice central(we called them Uku). My mom used to slather my hair with Alberto's VO5 hair dressing grease and send me to school with oily ponytails. It kept me from getting lice.
Thank you for this video. I recently got lice and have really thick hair that goes down to my bottom. I was devastated. I felt icky, gross, and just uncomfortable. Because there isn't much detailed information about what you need to do for lice, I have just been blindly following different techniques. Your video gave me all the answers I needed for a natural solution. Thank you!!!
Soak your hair in distilled vinegar and let it sit over night. In the morning when you wake up take a shower and after you shower you will comb hair with fine tooth come to get out remaining dead lice/eggs/nits. It works everytime for me
Whatever you use, you must continue the treatment for at least 10 days straight, if not longer. I say this because you have had it for so long. I had it for 3 years before I found a way to get rid of them. I bought the p roducts online which said it would get rid of lice in 24 hours. I did everything it said to do and was so mad because at the end of the 24 hours I straightened my hair with very hot heat and saw the tiny babies still crawling on my hair. I continued to do my hair with the heat for 10 more days and sprayed my hair with the products and they never came back. It has been 7 years since then. I am looking on this site because my grandchildren got lice now. I did find a better way to get rid of them though. Use Wormwood complex drops with black walnut and cloves. Put 10 drops into your shampoo and conditioner. Best to use Suave Coconut shampoo on dry hair and scalp, cover completely . leave in for 1 hour the first four days and 5 minutes after that. ... THen shampoo hair and apply Suave coconut conditioner and use the lice comb to comb out. Rinse with apple cider vinegar then blow dry. Do this for at least 10 days. After that continue using the Suave shampoo and Conditioner, COCONUT ONLY, You will not see them again but if you do get them back just use the wormwood complex drops in your shampoo again and that will kill both the bugs and the eggs. A 4 day minimum is a must because the nymph breathing system does not mature until day 4 and the tiny babies can live through most treatments because of this. This is why many people say their lice came back. WHen really it was a nit left in hair or these tiny babies that could not be killed and were not retreated within 4-10 days before they matured into an adult and are able to reproduce. Then the cycle starts over again. Another oil that is used in agriculture to kill bugs is neem oil. It is natural and is a pesticide. You can use it straight in the hair or you can use 1-2 tablespoons mixed with coconut oil or olive oil and this will kill the bugs. Put plastic bag over head and hair and wait an hour, then wash out and apply conditioner with lavender oil. The lavender oil repels lice and makes the bad smell of the neem oil go away. you can also use peppermint oil as it does the same thing.
That is RIDICULOUS. Imagine how many innocent people you infected. It's not like treatment for head lice is expensive. In 10 years and entire decade you could not figure out a way to get rid of them? And even if you couldn't get rid of them yourself you didn't ask anyone for help? You would just rather scratch her head for a decade. I understand that this comes across harsh but come on
Thank you . I just found out today that my daughter has lice. I've never dealt with this before...and want to remedy this naturally. I appreciate you advice as well as everything offered in the comments. Send prayers!
I got your back girl! We’re on our second go around right now at my house; four years later. I learned a lot last time. I was mortified when I found a louse in my daughters hair. This time I haven’t seen any creepy crawlies, only nits, but where there are nits.... Love actually like clean hair better than dirty hair. They can move more freely when hair is clean and they don’t get bogged down by oils and dead skin cells. It’s nasty business for sure, but more because of all the work you have to do. Thank you for sharing.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for taking your time and reaching out to your viewers, especially about not such attractive subjects as head lice. I am 40 yrs young, with think hair down to my bottom. Thats a lot of hair. I've recently just been broken in with the gross little buggers myself. I was so ripe with the subject, I actually went to the local emergency room. Imagine the embarrassment! However, I did find out that I am allergic to tic bites/saliva. Everyone is to an extent but it makes my scalp raise in HUGE lumps and bumps and its not en itching sensation but more of a burning sensation after a bit of a numbing period. I am on a tight budget at the moment and the "kits" are priced upwards of $30 here. So, a couple of things to sum this up. 1. This "plague" as I call it now (I have a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor) has many shapes, forms, and symptoms. Be careful of that. And 2. Its important to be open to trying different methods of treatment. First thing tomorrow, I'm going for the gusto and trying yours! THANKS AGAIN for what I'm hoping will be an end all be all to this nightmare!! ☺😁
Just because you had head lice doesn't mean you're dirty! Please listen or at least dad should read this..... lice is contagious by sharing hats combs and hair brushes. The best treatment is Quell shampoo.. a prescription drug from the doctor...or over the counter lice treatment. I was a licensed cosmetologist for years. Lots of these treatments such as the olive oil.. doesn't guarantee that will get rid of lice once and for all. You also have to wash sheets and towels and spray furniture and bedding and carpet with another chemical which is over the counter. You have to treat it twice a few days apart.
I seen lice in my friends hair 2 days ago and I just found out that I had lice today , one of my worst nightmares I ended up crying😢😭 hopefully this works
Thank you for sharing your experience. My daughter has them fot the first time ever, my son has a couple. I've been using olive oil mixed with tea tree, rosemary, geranium and lavender oil, I let it sit for a couple hours then combed them out. I did this for two days but it doesn't feel complete. I found a lady on UA-cam who does this as a profession. Her tips are: Use mineral oil and let sit for 15 minutes, she said this kills all bugs and eggs. Then if thick or long hair section into 4 ponytails, work in one section at a time and use lots of conditioner and water to moisturize hair and comb comb comb. Also comb in all 4 directions as the eggs can lay on either side of the hair follicle. After combing for hours and checking to see if you have removed all eggs, wash hair and then blow dry the roots. Best prevention is to check weekly for lice, teach child not to touch heads or share hats with others and use an essential oil spray in hair to detour and mask the child's smell, as some people smell more appetizing to lice. Honestly as gross as they are, I would much rather lice rather than fleas. Both feast on your blood but at least you know where lice live, and lice can't live off your head for more than 48 hours. So bag up fabric items for 48 hours or more, dry things on high heat for 40+ minutes or put things in hot water for 10+ minutes. This is what I have learned on this lice journey 😅
I rememeber when I was young and my mum took me to get my hair cut at the salon, I sat in the chair and could hear the hairdresser telling my mum that she couldn't cut my hair because I had headlice, it was mortifying!
We didn't have anything on hand I used Mayo in the hair for 8 hours. I used walmart plastic bags wrapped around our heads. The next morning we got a metal nit comb the plastic combs don't work as good. We combed through the hair over and over. We repeated the process in 3 days. Then a week later. It worked lice was gone.
A tip for when you have lice and are trying to pervent having it agian everyday for about a month go through your hair with the lice comb in the shower with conditioner in your hair
White vinegar and cayenne pepper. It burns like a mother, but the vinegar breaks down the glue that holds the nits to the hair strands, and the cayenne essentially torches them. Feel free to add at least ten drops of tea tree oil and ten drops of lavender oil. Like I said, the cayenne BURNS, so it's more geared towards adults than children, but I've seen plenty of these guys on the shower floor. Best of luck!
Really do the nits come out in shower and use comb too?cayenne pepper got sauce or powder with oil ?? Sorry just got this infestation now that schools back open your tips are so muvh appreciated I tried oil and mayonnaise every shampoo ughhh sucks picking thousand nits not many bugs every 3 days I have to use real life shampoo with all them chemicals so sad 😥😥 the Lisa Florida
My granddaughter (5) came and stayed a week a month ago and she used my brush etc. The past few weeks my head has been itching. I thought not rinsing my hair good this and that. I bought a new brush yesterday that happened to be white. A literal bug was in my hairbrush. My kids had lice a few times growing up. It was an adult lice. Now my granddaughter's mom thinks I'm being a mean person because I told her "check Mae's head blah blah". My goodness. Lol I'm doing my hair now. Thank you I'm cutting my hair myself tomorrow after I let the treatment set overnight ❤❤❤❤ My hair is black so i didn't see anything 😅
Add neem oil, cold pressed, heat dropper bottle in a mug of hot water for about 20+ minutes and let sit for most of the day, or shower cap and let kids sleep with it in their hair, wash out with tea tree oil shampoo, best results are when you don't give up your assault on the lil buggers, stay on top of them and be extremely thorough, consistency is key. Also cut cleaning vinegar (dollar store) a little and add the spray bottle, saturate hair and use a scotch brite scrubber and run through hair in layers or sections holding the scrubber so that half is under the hair strands and other half on top, helps grab and remove nits.
thank you, I am 52 and found out I have lice today. Cut 6inches off, did tea tree oil shampoo cap and conditioner and then lice shampoo first treatment. I too, assumed it was dry scalp. I never thought this could happen. Do the eggs attach to the scalp like a dandruff flake. I shampoo and condition every day in shower. I was using a new shampoo 2 weeks ago, and while rinsing I felt like sand beads on each side of my head, so I ASSUMED there was something wrong with the shampoo. This is what I think were eggs now that I know. Thanks again, I will do the second chemical treatment, and then revert to the olive oil and vinegar, and always tea tree.
I also use Tea Tree oil to treat fleas on my dogs too. Tea tree oil comes from the Melaleuca tree specie, and yes you pronounced it correctly. Thanks for you video much appreciated.
Thanx for the advice my daughter got head lice at school 6yrs ago and it took about 3months of constant chemical treatments to finally get rid of it. She 13 yrs old now and once again got lice at school but I now have a 1 yr old and I'm 5 months pregnant so I want to treat this without any chemicals. Again thank you for sharing and getting rid of this "dirty people=lice" stigma.
I tried to hide that I have lice until I get rid of them alone. She find out and I tell you it was not nice but I would do ir again because now she is always talking about it like I am the only person in the world that had lice. It's sooooo anoying
Vicks vapor rub is a great way to contain the lice you pull off. When I got it as a teen, I experimented with what would keep them from running off lol. I tried toothpaste, petroleum jelly, etc and Vicks worked best. We just spread it on a piece of paper.
i’ve seriously dealt with head lice almost my whole life . i got them when i was about four or five and i’m nearly 15. i’ve tried every trick in the book and can never get rid of them. it actually makes me upset that i have them because i’ve never really had a normal hairdressing experience and i am wanting to get my hair dyed and cut but i can’t because a hairdresser won’t do it if they see lice. and my formal (prom) will be coming up in a couple years and i’ll need my hair done but i’m embarrassed about it. people always want to do my hair and touch it and i just say that i don’t like people touching my hair (even though i do!) because i don’t want them to find out. ugh this is my biggest secret and it kinda feels good to get it off my chest but i just want them gone and out of my life.
If you’ve had them that long at this point your best option is to just shave your hair off, trust me .. I know from experience once you get rid of them you won’t even care about being bold !
You can also use LiceFreee spray it's non toxic and works really well. You spray on dry hair until it's saturated, and let it dry...it kills everything. Put coconut oil on your hair everynight for a week then...treat once a week with the licefreee spray until you feel you are safe...I have literally only had to treat once....but I used coconut oil every nighy few a few nights...
This Lice Free spray kills egg and or nits just like live shampoo but spray or better ? Lol ..and does it last one time? Sorry im just doing me n my family. Now stilllll ughhh so I've tried everything didn't ghink the spray would work
You are very smart to use natural organic remedies and to eat organic. Also be careful of products like dryer sheets that are full of chemicals, toiletries, makeup and perfumes. I also google natural remedies all the time since I don't like using pharmaceuticals if I can help it.. I have chronic pain and recently was tested for heavy metal toxins and found out I have many. I am over 60 and these have built up over my lifetime. I also lived overseas in my 20's and in many rural areas and cities in the U.S. so who knows where they all came from. For many years I have eaten a whole food plant based diet, organic and very little processed foods, dairy or meat.. The only reason I bring this up is to help others prevent illness later on in life because it is so hard to reverse disease once you are sick. We are exposed to so many toxins in the air, our environment, our food, etc. that we cannot control, so to avoid disease we need to rducate ourselves and try to avoid as many toxins as possible. My 5 grown children contacted lice when they were young. It was going around at school. I found out this frequently happens depending on what part of the country you live in. It was very expensive to buy the chemical stuff for all 5 of them. That was years before I went organic. About 2 years ago I looked up what to do naturally just in case my granddaughter gets it at school. She has very long , thick hair so it would hard to deal with. I read that lice do not like the smell of coconut so as a preventative we use coconut oil as a leave in conditioner. My granddaughter has very dry hair so it works well for her. I also got her a coconut smelling shampoo and conditioner. Not sure if this will prevent it but worth a try. Fortunately we now live in an area where it is less common. I would have never thought to use dog shampoo but thought it was a good idea. Was it also organic? Thank you so much for sharing.
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for sharing your story and your granddaughter's story with me. I'm glad that you have chosen to take the natural and organic path to reclaim your health as well. Thank you so much for being here!
Pam m David Murphy here. Heavy metal pain ...watch rick simpson 's you tube hit Run From The Cure. Cannabis oil... not CBD oil or hemp oil but cannabis oil can be made easily at home with an electric burner or rice cooker is best and a good exhaust fan to prevent flash ignition of alcohol... Buy an ounce of hi grade marijuana indica only not sativa ...crush to powder put in mixing bowl wash twice for 3 mins with everclear alcohol only and pour thru screen if you want to save some greens or coffee filter if you want resin only. you lose good stuff this way... I use screen then pour into cooker or frying pan slowly boil down to resin and out four drops water into bubbling resin pour into container. I personally save about 20 ml. of alcohol and handle it all with an eyedropper into a bottle this is easier to handle for me and saves greens beneficial for the stomach . This concoction heals everything...cancer fibro MS diabetes kidney disease flatulence, well I'm not so sure about the farts but OK it heals autism epilepsy ..Rafael Mechoulan won the friggin Nobel prize for marijuana study he said it naturally drains the swamp of heavy metals radioactive substances and toxins like roundup proven to make male frogs female yuck Monsanto at it again. I use diatamaceous earth everywhere and it stops bedbugs from traveling 30 meters a day looming for blood. thick around baseboards. for scorpions I take a big tablespoon of it and open the back door at late note hours like 2am and either blow very hard or compressed air and it spreads all over the carport or backyard or front yard and lays in all night. Kills all bugs period. for mosquito's get your crack pipe lighter yeah you meth heads those big torch lighters...you get em at head shops you straight follks orn$15 at harbor freight ..and blow torch your coffee grounds indoors first till you smoke up the house then place on patio garage or outside areas preferably under a porch or over hang and burn em hot to coals guaranteed no mosquito's. Flies hate peppermint mix with alcohol and spray herself and doorways. bed bugs hate alcohol 91% kills on contact. Everything hates tea tree Dr Bronner's tea tree oil shampoo at sprouts $20. No self respecting louse will hang around. Might even get rid of lazy husbands so call me when yer single especially you real tall gals
My daughters had head lice on and off throughout her school life. They seem to love her. There is a girl in her class who has them all the time!!! Don't know why her Mum is not treating her? Anyways I treated my daughter initially with Hedrin but now that does not work on her plus I hate the thought of dousing her in a chemical. So my preferred method is comb and conditioner. I will definitely try your method of oil and t-tree. Much more eco-friendly. Thanks for the advice.
LOVE THIS! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We all had lice and treated it and it's back AGAIN! I didn't consider using vinegar OR a hair dryer. I've used the OTC stuff for hair and house 3 times, but they're STILL here. Everytime I swore they were back, but I thought it was just in my head. Didn't consider using the hair dryer or my checking my pets. And now I know I can put things in the dryer instead of using the lice spray, like pillows that will be ruined if I wash them. PLEASE CROSS YOUR FINGERS FOR ME THEY DON'T COME BACK!
Dry shampoo works for me. What I did was put a whole bunch of dry shampoo in my hair and slept with it in. And washed it in the morning and then after I used a hair drying and put it on high for about 30 mins to an hour and I couldn’t find any live lice, and plus I put tea tree oil in and I was good. And I still do my hair ever three days. And I’ve been good! I hope this works for you guys!
Ugh, I remember when my son had head lice. We were in Ecuador and had to go to a pharmacy and use a chemical rinse but I wish I had known about this. That stuff stank!!
All of my kids got it from school. In the library there was a couch with pillows. And i'm pretty sure it came from that from the school library. Kids always get it from school doesn't matter if you're rich or poor
Mix the vinegar in with your shampoo! It’s much easier than having to soak it with the vinegar itself and then after the treatment use coconut oil. It’s thicker and sticks to the hair since it has a high melting point. Any nits that hatch cannot lay eggs since it’s too oily to stick and it’s harder for adult lice to get through the hair
Thank you so much for putting this out there. I had tried every product on the shelf and all the money and time spent was thrown away. This worked for me and my daughter and was natural with plenty left over if ever it was to reoccur.
Any tips on how to treat the rest of your house when dealing with lice? I remember as a kid needing to wash all the bedding, putting stuffed animals in plastic bags for several months and storing them in a warm place, plus also treating the furniture and vehicles with spray to kill anything that might have lingered. I am ultra paranoid about getting reinfested.
When my kids (5 of them at the time)got it back in the 80's, I first used to use what the Dr. Prescribed. That worked at first. Then it's like they became resistant to it(plus I hated the fact that it could absorb into the head if left on longer than instructed) when they got it again about 5 years later. Then I started using Vaseline. I'd fully saturate the hair completely, and rub it into the scalp. Cover it with a shower cap, and left that baby on for about 6 hours or more. Wash out the hair with dawn dishwashing liquid (it'll still be very greasy for at least 10 washings). Wash all the clothes, bedding in hot water if u hang(plus UV sunlight kills them), or the dryer will kill them as well. Boil all the hair accessories (brushes, ties, etc). Or throw them away. Don't forget to wash all backpacks, and clean out the vehicles too. Vacuum the entire house, paying close attention to couches, and wood furniture. Spray it with 91% alcohol (it kills "any kind" of bug(roaches, spiders, ants, bed bugs, etc) Bag anything for 4 weeks that can't be washed(stuffed animals, or things you can't wash right away, etc). Clean the nits out by hand with my nails scalp to ends(back then combs were worthless and pulled the nits to the ends of the hair making me miss a lot) parting the hair at 1/4"-3/8" parts and separating each section with clips(clean from undone) as you go til you're done with the whole head, doing it outside of the house in sunlight(I have a hard time seeing all the nits with regular lighting) . It's "very" time consuming, however using that method I've gotten rid of them in 1 treatment. I do check the hair again in a few days and remove any nits(usually 3-4) that I missed the first time. Then I recheck the hair again in about 1-2 weeks to make sure no new nits show up(confirming re-infestation, and repeating if needed which usually isn't needed if other cleaning stuff is done correctly) . Ever since I started using this method, it's how I've done it since. I raised 11 children all together and have had to do it to them maybe 10 times. Kids get them from sharing hair brushes, hair accessories,, hats(even trying them on in stores), backpacks hung closely in school(or even carrying someone else's), wearing someone else's jackets/clothing, etc., And believe it or not, in pools. A few weeks ago, my granddaughter came home with them. @12 she's particular about who touches her so I haven't been checking her. Plus I figured at her age, she should know better of what to share, and what not to share. She claimed a couple of girls took her brush from her backpack in middle school and she thought nothing of it. Well this caused almost the entire house of 7 gkids, and 2 of the adults here to catch it, along with another grandchild who spent the night on Christmas Eve. I looked up other natural methods online and tried a few since Vaseline is a pain to fully remove(olive oil, baby oil, conditioner, vinegar, mayonnaise). Retreating is needed with all of those. So personally, I still prefer the Vaseline method as I know it works with 1 treatment and I really don't have time to be retreating over and over or washing everything over and over. I don't wash pillows anymore since I started using double zippered pillow protectors, and fully zippered bed protectors that I remove carefully and wash. I don't trust any store bought treatments whatsoever, nothing that's written on their packaging is really true.
this girl at school spreaded a rumour about me having lice, when yet i dont, and now i got least popular. :(( im gonna say her name okay? she deserves this, LAUREN.
dont argue and get mad at each other for this it may have not been where you got them and if they are in your area any of you can get clean or dirty hair so just try to get rid of them and be good to each other !!
I covered my daughter's hair in coconut oil and it killed all the live ones, washed it out and treated with vinegar and washed again. Blew dry her hair and then sectioned her hair and fingers crossed the heat from the blow dryer and hair straightener killed the nits (eggs).
So I had lice for about a month and over the counter stuff was not working at all! I followed these exact steps and my lice went away! I blow dried my hair everyday after this treatment and I put tee tree oil in my shampoo, I cleaned all my clothes in hot water and changed my bedding 4 times and bagged everything else, I swept my floor and bleached everything to make sure there was no more lice in my room, I know it’s a lot but it takes a lot to get rid of these suckers! Anyway I hope this helped out someone!
I took a good nap today, and when I woke up I went to do my hair and I found this little thing on my arm and when I looked closer it was moving. I pinched it and it was a lice now I’m scared..
4 yrs later and this video still helped My daughter got lice from school and only gave them to me 😩 Coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar helped i added the tea tree oil to our shampoos and conditioner
Thank you so much ... I have my two young grandchildren and we have the hl and I was looking for a natural way ... yours sounds like the first one I will try tonight ... sounds safe and I don't want ro put harsh chemicals on my little ones.
I'm a hairdresser, and i just found it in my daughter. This helps so much, thank you! Although I was taught how to sanitize when on a client, I'm clueless how to treat it. 😅😢. I knew oil and comb that's it. But we are leaving on family vacation in 8 hours. Our poor girl is getting the olive oil right now, half asleep. :( then we can continue to treat it. I'll def have her hair up and covered to not spread it. But ugh thank God for this i didn't want tonuse chemicals on her. She's only 4.
I still had lice because my parents had ME treat it and they told me how to treat it, but I never fully recovered because my head still itches and I found THREE LICE ON ME! Two dead lice on me, and I picked out an alive louse on my scalp. I will follow this
Yesterday I came home and picked some lice out of my hair. Lice is literally my biggest fear and I literally had a mental breakdown for 4 strait hours. We had some lice shampoo from Wal-Mart and my dad and stepmom helped me with the shampoo and they checked me 3 times afterwards and it worked perfectly and nothing was found. No eggs or live lice, just dead ones. Later on I'm gonna go to the store to get tea tree oil and a new brush.
If you ever get lice don’t think it’s because you’re dirty or your house is dirty or you’re a dirty person lice love clean hair so they can attach the eggs so it doesn’t mean you’re dirty it means you’re clean. And this helped thank you because I have a tick and thin type of hair and I was about to shave off my hair
Oh my word, why didn't I think of this? I have a 6 year old granddaughter who's had them for well over a year; she was recently placed in our home full time(her dad lives with us and was given guardianship during some CPS/DHS investigations, etc) and I am hitting that headlice like a Ninja. The chronic stuff is really challenging- multiple nits on EVERY shaft. I have 3 combs I rotate thru and getting all the nits and bugs out is a challenge. I am so worried that I'm redepositing them- not if I hold them to flame!!! Thank you for the suggestion! Almost 100 percent eradicated and she's been with us less than 2 weeks. What a chore, but happy to see her getting some relief.
I'm 13 and have never had headlice till today and my mom's a hair stylist and I no joke CRIED my eyes out. My hair is super thick and long so it really is terrible
I found one adult lice in my daughters hair today after her shower, we nixed the whole family.. wish I would’ve seen this sooner! This is our first experience with lice... have a 12 year old and a 6 year old and the younger one has them. I’m hoping other parents will treat their kids, otherwise it could be a long year!
Oh my goodness my kids all have super thick course curly hair so I couldn't imagine dealing with head lice! It's great to know there is a natural alternative to the chemical options though should that ever be the case 😫
I had lice & my daughter 2 years ago . We used coconut oil & apple cider . It killed it all in 3 days. Now my daughter has it. 2 treatments and its not going away so now I’m looking for home remedies
You can also buy the Rosemary Mint Shampoo n Conditioner at Walmart to keep using on your hair every time you shampoo n keep the lice away after you do your lice treatment.
Same. It’s my first day of school on Monday and all of the sudden I started getting rly itchy scalp. I told my mom to check my head and she found one live lice and a Bunch of nits. I’m so sad and am so uncomfortable 😣
Head lice can live for 24 to 48 hours off the host. I have had to treat my kids when they were little for head lice a few times. You have done the treatment I done with my kids. I want to know what the name of the dog shampoo you use and where you bought it. A florescent light helps to see the eggs better too. Also, if your kids go to public schools you need to report it to the school nurse if you aren't scared. The classes that your kids are in need to be treated for lice over the weekend. Also. To keep the lead lice from your kids heads add a few drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo and blow dry your kids hair bone dry in the winter time. I also wash my kids jackets, coats, hats gloves and their book bags so they are all lice free. If you have stuffed animals you should bag them up and take them to the laundry mat and wash them in hot water. I put them in a dryer for 45 minutes on medium heat then if they are real furry I brush them with a boar hair brush to fix them back up. If you have furry boots wash and dry them too! But please make sure you blow dry the kids hair really good. If there is any eggs that haven't been removed it will kill them from the hot heat. Ant I always treat the kids hair every 3 days for 2 weeks to make sure I got rid of the lice.
The Robicomb is awesome. It's basicaly a bug zapper for your hair even with really long hair it only takes about 20 mins a day to use by the second day I found nothing, did it again 2 days later still nothing. It kills them and makes them unable to reproduce. Amazing.
Here’s my experience with this: Put the oil and tea tree in my hair absolutely smothered Went to bed Woke up at 1 Could put get back to sleep the oil was so annoying I just got up and hopped in the shower to wash it all off Came out and I was so tired and my hair was sooooo weak and disgusting there was no way I was going to put on apple cider vinegar Went back to sleep Woke up very tired but had to get up bc I had a sore shoulder that was uncomfortable to lie on Tried drying my hair with a blow dryer my hair is so oily it did nothing The oil leaked through the towel and on to my new white pillowcase Now I’m sitting here with disgusting hair and I still have nits
Thank you so much for sharing. My 1 and a half year old got lice when she started going to daycare at the Y so of course I've got them too hahaha we have been suffering! Every time we do the home chemical treatment they come back in like a month. I've got really long hair and we're still going to the Y so maybe they're not all getting combed out of mine or some kid at daycare still has it (poor baby!) I'm happy to hear of something we can do as many times as we need to without doing damage or exposing my little one to too many chemicals.
i started to put a few drops of tea tree oil to the kids shampoo that they shower on a daily basis. I keep a shampoo a side for me that i use twise a week just to be safe since i do love to cuddle with my kids on movie night
this might be old but can people see that you have head lice because when you have them they might crawl on you and you feel something but you don't know if other people can see it.
Well me and my two girl's all have head lice! I've followed your video instructions to a T. So day one and I'm hoping I see less in the AM! First time ever dealing with this. And I'm so stressed! Your video was the best one I've found on UA-cam! So hope it work's!
My cousin came over yesterday and im really itchyyyy rn and and i have dandruff but my dandruff isnt hard but i was itching and i pulled out hard white lil round eggs i started freaking out number 1 i hate lice number 2 i start school in like 5 days number 3 my mom said shes tired of spending like 80 dollars on lice stuff IM SOOOOOO SCAREDDD RNNNNN

@@Asp.aragus first of all my eyes most young girls, have a straightener. Make mixture of half a cup of white vinegar and two cups of warm water. Wash your hair and rinse and then pour the mixture over your head. Towel dry your hair. then comb it out. Then you straighten it... repeatedly white your come on toilet paper or paper towel and keep checking for eggs or live lice. The vinegar will actually loosen the glue holding the Nits to the hair shaft
My little brother gave me lice, and I was lucky enough to only get the nits. So I washed my hair in tea tree oil shampoo, and picked out as many as I could using a lice comb. Followed by a quick drying using a towel. Then I drenched my hair in canola oil, and wrapped it in a plastic bag around my head. I have no more nits. But the funny thing is, I can’t get the canola oil out of my hair.
I learned a home remedy that is similar , first I used coconut oil and 15 drops of tea tree oil , with a shower cap for 1 hour then comb with tooth comb after we rinsed with warm water and dawn soap !! After we let dry a bit then soaped with the apple cider vinegar and put a shower cap and leave for an hour , then wash normally and comb again , and continue combing 3 times a week and repeat process if necessary. Also sleep with the coconut oil and a head scarf helps to keep hair soft from all the drying out and suffocates them!!!
Good day I'm a mother of two kids...1 boy and 1 girl...a few days ago I saw my lil girl scratching her hair like crazy...thought its was because it was hot out...so before her bath I check her hair...then yes it was lice...so I grab acv and pound it on her hair and put it into a bun like hair and pull a shower cap over it for a hour. Took it off and saw all the was walking bi and lil was on the bun...so took some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel and started to pulled them out and after another hour was my lil gurl hair out and took a lice comb to start taking the rest if the eggs out...this is day three and almost clear....acv works alot ..
Ty for this video!! Unfortunately I just found eggs in my daughter's hair last night😫 omg I could cry rn!!! It's such a hassle and she has such thick curly hair!!! Wish me luck🥺
Head lice is the worst, especially with thick hair! I even considered shaving all my hair off because of them. Thanks for the tips
I thought lice made your hair thick? Idk thats what my parents said .p.
😖same I figured out I had lice about a week ago. My hair is also thick!
Jungkooks basic closet *filled with timberlands* same I have thick hair and I found out yesterday I was scratching my hair and when I pulled it I saw a adult lice on my finger 😬😩
Bff Vlogs that's exactly what happened to me! Was scratching my head and then I found adult lice on my finger
I've been growing my hair for two years now and I just found out I have head lice 😭😭😭 I hope this works
Oh no! That's so frustrating! I hope these methods worked for you.
Did it work
Caren Nicole Lano i use tea tree oil and coconut oil. First melt the coconut oil by melting by putting a cup of it in a bowl of hot water. And then I put as much as tea tree oil as i want and add vitamin e oil. Leave it on for as long as u like and shampoo your hair twice and condition once. It works!! It also helps with hair growth and softer hair
almond Hershey we'll sorta it's mostly in my short hair bc it's not curly but I just can't get rid of it there is so much
Ashley Marie I think I have lice but I'm scared to tell my mom and I'm about to go back to school I just really want to get rid of it
im ten in a half and i have lice i almost started crying and stayed up to watch videos like this
anita valdez same here
learning this will not only help you but everyone you tell. Coconut oil is very cheap and last forever. when it is warm it will melt but it will get solid again in the fridge. It smell great and softens ALL of you .It can be eaten as well. learn how many things it can help with. KNOWLEDGE is POWER.
I just found out I had lice and I'm so scared and I feel so nasty just sleeping in my own bed and I just wanna die ugghhh
Look up listerine method. Works wonders.
sameeee
same i have them rn 😬
I have it right now! Ive been struggling with it please help i just want no lice what am i doing wrong and just so you know lice like clean hair! your not dirty, how did you get rid of them?
I also add the tea tree oil to our shampoo and conditioner so you prevent yourself from getting it back! It’s amazing!
That's awesome! I actually recently started using a preventative shampoo called Fairy Tales. It's got all of the oils in it as well!
Lice is the worst for a mom. Thanks for sharing! Crazy story. Glad you guys got it figured out.
Right?! It's even worse when mom is trying to treat everyone else, and then mom HAS the lice too. It was not fun. Thank you for watching.
I'm trying this thanks ☺
Regards.
Black people who grease their hair regularly don't get head lice.
Very true I sat next to a girl in elementary school who had head lice. Never got it. Coconut hair grease saved me LOL 😂
Yep.
umm, yes black kids can get it as well.
I'm crying while watching I feel really on the edge I can't cope with these nits😭
Use Listerine for the adults... Vinegar for the nits. Use coconut oil to assist with the combing out.
I really hope this helps!😊

@@emilya3621 ty girl I really appriciate it! And no we still have them my hair is so thick and long Im giving up😔
Head lice do not like greasy hair.
Victoria Grace did it work for you?
You are so welcome! Were you able to find relief?
I have really thick hair too and i got lice about 2 years ago i felt the same way you did
I had to cut my hair😭
Alicia marie how did you get rid of them
Soak your hair in distilled vinegar and let it sit over night. In the morning when you wake up take a shower and after you shower you will comb hair with fine tooth come to get out remaining dead lice/eggs/nits. It works everytime for me
U WILL NEVER KNOW WHY I GOT LIKES 🤪
I’m going bald cuz of lies
I’m going to die I have lice! And they drinked all me blood!
Me
Me😀
I have had head lice for seven years and this video has given me hope. It’s just so difficult and never goes away no matter how much I try
I understand that this comes across harsh but come on
I remember when I was young I had a problem of head lice. This video is really helpful for parents dealing with this problem
Thank you so much! I'm glad it was helpful :)
did it work for you??
My dad always says I’m dirty, because I have head lice but head lice loves clean heads
I seen lice in my friends hair 2 days ago and I just found out that I had lice today , one of my worst nightmares I ended up crying😢😭 hopefully this works
same thing happened to me right before quarantine but i just noticed that i had lice
Just don’t make ur friend feel bad
Thank you for sharing your experience. My daughter has them fot the first time ever, my son has a couple. I've been using olive oil mixed with tea tree, rosemary, geranium and lavender oil, I let it sit for a couple hours then combed them out. I did this for two days but it doesn't feel complete. I found a lady on UA-cam who does this as a profession.
Her tips are:
Use mineral oil and let sit for 15 minutes, she said this kills all bugs and eggs.
Hair dye definitely doesn't kill them
Me and my sister have had head lice for YEARS and they wont go away😬I’m in middle school and I just wanna get rid of them already
Try Listerine
Did u get rid of them yet?
Zayra’s World same.
Zayra’s World same 😭😩
Listerine is the bomb.
Lice bugs actually like really clean hair so you’re right it is a stigma that it is only dirty people or hair! Thanks for the video!
This isn't true please do research
I rememeber when I was young and my mum took me to get my hair cut at the salon, I sat in the chair and could hear the hairdresser telling my mum that she couldn't cut my hair because I had headlice, it was mortifying!
It is definitely a hard situation!
The same exact thing happened to my sister and me when we were in elementary school.
Use peppermint oil
it burns those lice
Great tips!
Hahaha 😂
From DOTERRA?
Can it be any brand of peppermint oil? And do I leave it in my daughters hair for how long?
Peppermint oil is not good on kids less than 7
We didn't have anything on hand I used Mayo in the hair for 8 hours. I used walmart plastic bags wrapped around our heads. The next morning we got a metal nit comb the plastic combs don't work as good. We combed through the hair over and over. We repeated the process in 3 days. Then a week later. It worked lice was gone.
Nites too??
Thank u for sharing this!!! I am freaking out both my little boys have it!! I am about to start treatment now...wish me luck please!
How’d it go?

Lol
I'm doing my hair now. Thank you
I'm cutting my hair myself tomorrow after I let the treatment set overnight ❤❤❤❤
My hair is black so i didn't see anything 😅
If my mum finds out I have lice, I will be shamed till next century 😭
No tell her it just gets worse
I tried to hide that I have lice until I get rid of them alone. She find out and I tell you it was not nice but I would do ir again because now she is always talking about it like I am the only person in the world that had lice. It's sooooo anoying
@@franciscacarvalho1347 SAME my mom acts like I’m disgusting and like that I’m the only person that has ever had head lice
Grace Mann awe :(
If you’ve had them that long at this point your best option is to just shave your hair off, trust me .. I know from experience once you get rid of them you won’t even care about being bold !
Make sure you treat your furniture. They make sprays for that
Same got them 5 and im 14:(

Try EDTA for heavy metals
It's called DOG shampoo, you never ever use that on people because of the different chemicals !
Absolutely! And if she really struggles there are salons you can go to for treatment.
Em Gibson Nits Hatch every seven to ten days so remember to repeat the process weekly for a month.
How did it go? - a hopeless mom.
I picked up my grandkids and they were covered with head lice from daycare. It's a battle.
Oh man. That's so hard! I'm sorry!
Ugh, I remember when my son had head lice. We were in Ecuador and had to go to a pharmacy and use a chemical rinse but I wish I had known about this. That stuff stank!!
how did you get lice out of your own head?
All of my kids got it from school. In the library there was a couch with pillows. And i'm pretty sure it came from that from the school library. Kids always get it from school doesn't matter if you're rich or poor
Mix the vinegar in with your shampoo! It’s much easier than having to soak it with the vinegar itself and then after the treatment use coconut oil. It’s thicker and sticks to the hair since it has a high melting point. Any nits that hatch cannot lay eggs since it’s too oily to stick and it’s harder for adult lice to get through the hair
So just shampoo with vinegar and shampoo? Then when dry use coconut oil and use the lice comb?
I will be trying this tip to kill the little buggers! How long to leave in the coconut oil?
Thank you so much for putting this out there. I had tried every product on the shelf and all the money and time spent was thrown away. This worked for me and my daughter and was natural with plenty left over if ever it was to reoccur.
Any tips on how to treat the rest of your house when dealing with lice? I remember as a kid needing to wash all the bedding, putting stuffed animals in plastic bags for several months and storing them in a warm place, plus also treating the furniture and vehicles with spray to kill anything that might have lingered. I am ultra paranoid about getting reinfested.
I've been getting this question often from this video. I will definitely create a video about it.
Put everything in the dryer you can (pillows, toys, blankets)... Baking soda on carpet 2 hrs and vacuuming and clean it out real good!
I use tea tree oil ...spray like you would the lice spray ... On all pillows bed all cloth ..

They die within 2 days. It’s not bedbugs.
Thank you so much for sharing!
The pillow protectors are a great idea! Thank you!
this girl at school spreaded a rumour about me having lice, when yet i dont, and now i got least popular. :(( im gonna say her name okay? she deserves this, LAUREN.
XxNightSkyxX then why are you on this video if you don’t have it?
why are you watching this video if you dont have lice
Man, that sucks :'(
dont argue and get mad at each other for this it may have not been where you got them and if they are in your area any of you can get clean or dirty hair so just try to get rid of them and be good to each other !!
@@johndere5462 dont be mean to anyone for this it can't be helped !! Not worth ever treating someone bad !!
Thank you for your help my aut in New York as lice😢
Thanks to head lice, I’ve stop biting my nails, but then I need a cure for the lice, thank you
I covered my daughter's hair in coconut oil and it killed all the live ones, washed it out and treated with vinegar and washed again. Blew dry her hair and then sectioned her hair and fingers crossed the heat from the blow dryer and hair straightener killed the nits (eggs).

DO U STILL HAVE IT I DO AND NEED HELP
@@bxnxmbdhdh6834 SAMEEE!! WHERE DID IT EVEN COME FROM I'VE BEEN HOME FOR 8 MONTHS AND MY HAIR IS ALWAYS COVERED
OMG I WISH SHAVING YOUR HAIR COULD BE A TREND SO NOBODY WOULD MAKE FUN OF ME IN SCHOOL FOR BEING BOLD =((((((((
So I had lice for about a month and over the counter stuff was not working at all!
4 yrs later and this video still helped
My daughter got lice from school and only gave them to me 😩
Coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar helped i added the tea tree oil to our shampoos and conditioner
Are making to clean bedding and boil hair brushes and ponytail holders? Put stuffed animals in the dryer.
Thank you so much ... I have my two young grandchildren and we have the hl and I was looking for a natural way ... yours sounds like the first one I will try tonight ... sounds safe and I don't want ro put harsh chemicals on my little ones.
And it totally works! Thanks for watching!
I hope this works unless I won’t be able to go to a school trip thank you for the tips
Great tips! I will definitely have to do this with the whole family.
Thank you! I'm glad that you found it helpful, but sorry your family has to go through lice. It's crappy for sure.
Yes, I am dealing with the same problem, got the call from school today and I have to do treatments now
Thank u sm I just found out I have lice and my hair goes past my butt and this video made me feel a lot more comfortable and less terrifying
What was the name of the shampoo you got at walmart called?
What was the shampoo???
If you ever get lice don’t think it’s because you’re dirty or your house is dirty or you’re a dirty person lice love clean hair so they can attach the eggs so it doesn’t mean you’re dirty it means you’re clean. And this helped thank you because I have a tick and thin type of hair and I was about to shave off my hair
light a candle and when you pick the nits out drop them on the flame that will kill the nits
Thank you for taking the time doing this video. It helped my friend a lot. Keep up the goo work.
U are such a life saver thank u god bless u
U r such a sweetheart! Thank u 4 the tips ! Combing out 11yr olds hair rn. I jus subscribed
Oh my goodness my kids all have super thick course curly hair so I couldn't imagine dealing with head lice! It's great to know there is a natural alternative to the chemical options though should that ever be the case 😫
I have big thick hair as well. It was definitely harder to deal with my hair than my kids. But, it can be done for sure.

I had lice & my daughter 2 years ago . We used coconut oil & apple cider . It killed it all in 3 days. Now my daughter has it. 2 treatments and its not going away so now I’m looking for home remedies

As a mother of 2 I hate head lice! It’s the worst 🤢

You can also buy the Rosemary Mint Shampoo n Conditioner at Walmart to keep using on your hair every time you shampoo n keep the lice away after you do your lice treatment.

Life saver its my first day of school tomorrow and I have no idea how I got lice so thank you so so so much
You're welcome! I hope it works for you!
Amazing.
It's ok dear. Idk why it's so taboo to talk about lice. It's a part of life in a way tons of kids or adults get lice.
Agreed! It happens. It's just something else that makes life interesting :)
Thanks my daughter has lice problem I will try ur tips
I have lice rn and I need to know how to get it out of my hair
I found out yesterday. Tried vinegar and neem paste. 😭😫 didn't go!! Im so anxious and scared.
I going to try it tomorrow itself. And I'll be back with my experience in a week. Hoping positive solutions this time 🙏🙏 Namaste from India
did it work??
Here’s my experience with this:
Put the oil and tea tree in my hair absolutely smothered
Went to bed
Woke up at 1
Could put get back to sleep the oil was so annoying I just got up and hopped in the shower to wash it all off
Came out and I was so tired and my hair was sooooo weak and disgusting there was no way I was going to put on apple cider vinegar
Went back to sleep
Woke up very tired but had to get up bc I had a sore shoulder that was uncomfortable to lie on
Tried drying my hair with a blow dryer my hair is so oily it did nothing
The oil leaked through the towel and on to my new white pillowcase
Now I’m sitting here with disgusting hair and I still have nits
I went through some steps too and I'm also sitting here feeling extremely disgusted.
Another way is mayonnaise and vaseline (around a tablespoon each) Then just wash with shampoo and conditioner. (this gets rids of eggs as well)
Thank you so much for sharing.
That’s a great question! I’m not an expert, but in our experience, no one (unless they were combing through our hair) could see that we had lice.
ᴘᴀʀɪs yes.
Very rarely but I’ve seen it on someone. Really gross
Well me and my two girl's all have head lice! I've followed your video instructions to a T. So day one and I'm hoping I see less in the AM! First time ever dealing with this. And I'm so stressed! Your video was the best one I've found on UA-cam! So hope it work's!

Use a little dawn soap
Mosty clean people get head lice because I have them right now and I pull 5 out
It’s true! Anyone can get lice
Yes! Lice like clean heads particularly; the more oily the hair, the lice can't attach. A hot blow dryer can work well as they don't like the heat.
i knew i shouldnt have washed my hair two times a day
I learned a home remedy that is similar , first I used coconut oil and 15 drops of tea tree oil , with a shower cap for 1 hour then comb with tooth comb after we rinsed with warm water and dawn soap !!
I used your steps and it worked ! Home remedies are so much convenient and effective. Thank you so much ;
Yay! I'm so glad that it worked for you! It is so much nicer to use natural remedies when they are safe and available!
How did it work out?
