Hope you all are well and things are swell. The Last Voyage of the Demeter horror movie is a very interesting film coming out soon by the director André Øvredal who made Troll Hunter and The Autopsy of Jane Doe. I honestly feel that this film is going to be something special and I've tried my best to explain why based on the trailers and other aspects. So please enjoy and don't be afraid to let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below. You can even smash the like button and subscribe if you want to really cheer me up ;) Take care

I watched this movie yesterday and this movie is incredible. It’s a must see. . The gore-and the horror is so unsettling . Perfectly executed it had me on the edge of my seat literally.
Great news my friend. Spielberg's company were behind this film, so it had so many things going for it. God I hope it gets sequels or they do the same treatment to the other universal monsters now.

I was excited for that Dracula Netflix series but what a weird turn that show took
Good for you mate. I actually often see some films alone as I am less distracted then haha. Might also see this movie alone as well. Yeah the Dracula series ended terribly for me. I won't spoil for anyone but the first episode had promise that was just shattered sadly.
That show had a perfect beginning just like the shadow of the moon Netflix movie but it ended pretty bad. There was real quality in both those productions.
@@treytilley333 oh you mean this film ended bad? I heard it was left open but sadly I can't see it yet in UK 😞
Just saw this. Another beauty from the director of The Autopsy of Jane Doe.
Glad you liked it, Always appreciate fan response rather than critics with these types of films
Kudos to Harvey for giving us the scariest & memorable monsters ever I'll bet he was picked on so badly as a kid because of his condition but he's making a career of it. I'll bet it's fear that keeps the crew from searching the the crates on the ship but the daylight is their best weapon to find out who is taking them out one by one.
Yeah I bet your right but he found his place and has a good life in the end for sure. Super excited for this film now 😁

I LOVED THIS MOVIE ESPECIALLY THE ENDING WAS COOL AS HELL THEY GOT TO MAKE A PART 2 TWO THIS
Comments like that will get it done 👍 glad you loved it
Just watched it today and I thought of Alien. Not just that but they take some risks where i got emotional to the characters and they die in horrific wild ways. This movie is scary. Dracula is this winged demon because he’s in middle of changing so I love the animalistic bat form entire time and so haunting. Its rated R for shocking, emotional risk taking and sad moments. One of the best vampire films in 20 years.
Glad you loved it and yes, it did have a healthy amount of emotional attachment to some characters. They laid the lore out pretty well so you felt sorry for Anna and seeing what happens after a bite to the neck was horrible to watch. I personally felt it could have been slightly more scary if you compare the Dracula scenes to that of Alien but overall and as I say in my review, I was massively impressed 👍
I saw yesterday and I really like, Dracula is a monster hiding the human form in the Demeter!!!
Glad you liked it. I love it when the fan response is wild for new horror films
I’m so glad I finally found someone else who likes this film. I’m getting so much hate for enjoying this film!

Ahh thanks so much my friend, means a lot. I try to speak from the heart instead of just reading from articles online etc. All the best dude 😎
Looking forward to this film. Hopefully it's a great horror movie with awesome sequels... I mean, Dracula (the book)was a master piece. It's time we get some descent dracula movies. So far Bram Stokers Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola was the best one so far. I know some thing better or least something on the same level has to come up.
Yeah totally agree buddy. You know a movie will be great when you don't feel guilty for having a little optimism. I recently did a video on the upcoming Nosferatu by Robert Eggers. Although the two stories once conflicted legally, I think that will also be a horror gem. I also loved the Coppola Dracula. It had interesting casting and was incredibly haunting.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE That movie was awesome! From cinematography to the soundtrack.
I CAN’T WAIT!!!! 👹😱
Same. Then we have Robert Eggers Nosferatu next year 🤗👌
Nerd Alert! So Vlad III was known as Dracula or son of the dragon because his father, Vlad II was known as Dracul meaning The Dragon. This namesake came from his leading The Order of the Dragon.
All nerds are super welcome 🤗 thanks for the info buddy. The facts are important 👌
1897 is when it took place. It said that in beginning of the movie
Excellent, thx buddy. Period piece horror at sea. Cannot wait to watch.
movie was fantastic. It was a throw back to mid budget films that used to come out in the early 2000s
As long as the acting and story is decent, sometimes these films do well when the budget is sensible. Spielberg's company were behind this but I don't think say spent silly amounts.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE its still not out there yet? It does sequel bait a bit but its still a decent third act. Even keeps the diary aspect of the novel.
@@purefoldnz3070 thx for the info and keeping it non spoiler. Not out in UK indefinitely 😞
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE damn, sorry to hear that. Its a film that demands to be seen on the big screen in the dark.
@@purefoldnz3070 I bet. I'll find a way to watch it 😉😉. Universal apparently sold off a division that holds the license to certain films, which means it cannot show in some countries because of legalities etc. This film should have had way better marketing and more foresight. Big shame for the people involved in making this little gem.
They marketed this movie so horribly. This is a scary Dracula movie. They should of pushed that this was about Dracula but didn’t.
I suppose the trailer shows it as more of a creature feature. They do mention his name once but it's also in the shadow of two massive movies out right now sadly.
I saw it last week and it was good. It’s going to be great later on and I tell you why. In this movie, Dracula was in his weakest. Dracula needed to set up a made up voyage to England just so he can feed and survive. He was still smart but physically he was weak. So Dracula needed strength by killing those people in the Demeter except for one survivor. In the ending. We finally see Dracula in his strongest and also being hidden from the crowd in London, England. The next movie should finally introduce Van Helsing working with Clemens to kill Dracula. Knowing Dracula, he will probably be hiding in a mansion or castle at England
Ok cool. It really sounds like they are setting something up going forward here. Glad you loved it though. I guess his stronger state is ironically when he looks weaker, like in human for rather than a beast.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE Well I do believe Dracula is also a shapeshifter to because he was once human but sold his soul to the devil and that’s how he became a demon walking on earth because Dracula is really a demon. That’s why he can show his original human side to what he really is a monster
will watch this on Tuesday but from all the reviews it seems like this film would have been best off if it didn't have Dracula as the vampire...the fact it's Dracula and it's based directly from a chapter of Bram stokers book hinders it as the outcome is predictable
Probably why it has a negative response from critics so far and more successful with fans. I get what you say but sadly for me in the UK, cinemas are not showing it right now. But embarrassing after making a vid on it 😆
@EntertaintheDude will the UK get a release soon?
@@y3ee3e god I hope so buddy. They want us to support the industry but the don't allow us to have the opportunity to go to the cinema lol
Yes I did find it interesting & we honestly in my opinion , havn't had a really decent Dracula film since atleast the 70's & mind u that I'm only 36 years old saying this about Dracula 👌
Dracula Untold or whatever it was called was a massive disappointment and it had promise but sadly... I hope it's great and also becomes the beginning of something new like maybe awesome sequels
based in 1897, im not sold on this movie, could be good, but im not getting my hopes up, i was riled up for evil dead rise and it ended up being a bit disappointing, so im shrugging my shoulders for this one
Yeah, Evil Dead Rise was fun enough but lacked the charm of the originals and felt more like it was trying to hit those shock and gore horror notes rather than anything else sadly. I watched the behind the scenes of Demeter and hearing the cast talk about the film gave me even more promise so fingers crossed.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I thought evil dead rise would be better than the 2013 version which is very underrated, it isnt though, the stand out was alyssa sutherland as the mother, she was absolutely brilliant and criminally underused in the movie, i dont think they realised what they had
@@darkestfugue She was amazing in Vikings for sure. For me I just didn't like the way they limited the film to the city apartment. But maybe as you say, if they wrote the story better and gave Alyssa more to play with then it would have been a better film.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE i loved the scenes through the spyhole in the door, i wish there had of been some more of that, i also didnt like the fused monster at the end of the movie, i think she would have been way more menacing stalking them on her own in the finale and really given her something to get her teeth into, the movie was fun, i did enjoy it, but it had zero tension unlike the 2013 version which was way more edgy
7/10
Not really scary, but overall a decent film with good acting and good monster sequences
It falls short though cause it failed to make me care or resonate with any of the characters
I’m a horror fan and we all love a good scare but after so many horror films you start to watch them for the plot rather than the scares also seemed over produced to a degree for a time piece just my opinion though
This movie didn’t need to be nearly 2 hours long
Loved this rendition of the vampire but was looking pretty CG towards the climax though
Must be so hard to make a film like this scary as all the tricks have been done by now. Glad Glad most people seem to like the film so far, well not the critics but then who cares about them ;)
7 is a high mark for this movie
Gonna see this one asap

This movie is awesome❤❤❤
Glad you loved it 😁👍
Read the book dude Dracula could walk in daylight but his powers are not as strong as they are in the night . Bram Stoker published the novel in 1897 so there is the time period . Dracula was Vlad the impalers family name but the vampire part is made up . I hope the movie will be good and even though I already know how it ends I still plan on seeing it . I am going to say it again READ THE BOOK the movies do not do it justice .
I do plan to read it buddy. It interests me even more having been written in 1897. People minds were less corrupted by the overload of information we have these days. I can imagine his writing was very pure and precise. May order it tonight actually, thx
Dracula doesn’t care about the sunlight. Read the book? Dracula can walk freely at night and at daytime and the sun doesn’t harm him - for him it’s just a star like all the rest out there. Nothin special.
However Dracula should be made into a real psycho horror movie anyway. Not a drama or whatever a real horror movie that is dark and creepy but stays true to the source material.
No changes to the story. Dracula isn’t a love story. And of course not that garbage Netflix made 🙈
Well said my friend. I wasn't sure about sunlight etc but thanks for confirming such issues and i agree about the source material. This dracula should be objective in its survival patterns and not subjected to any love story haha
If I remember correctly, Dracula can operate during daylight but his powers are greatly diminished and he is therefore more vulnerable than after sundown and there is a degree of sensitivity to prolonged sun exposure.
@@brikkstonewall3958 Well see what they do with the film. Hope they respect the source of course. But mainly i'm interested in how they navigate the issues of daylight hours on board the ship. Still have high hopes.
It looks promising… but I have learnt long ago not to expect too much from IP's I have emotional attachments to. Most Dracula stories on film have been rubbish. Bram Stokers Dracula is the one true masterpiece IMO. If this is anywhere near as good, I'll be pleasantly surprised and deeply satisfied

I couldn't agree more. Wasn't super scary but executed everything else perfectly from the ship look, feel and sounds to the beast himself.
I'm desperately praying that this movie doesn't disappoint like so many others did before. The last horror movie that had me spooked for a long time was The Woman In Black. Nothing else since that.

Im hoping most of the movie is figuring out Dracula is on board, and the climax happens at night effectively removing that plot hole
Yeah, true. Otherwise, they would be hunting it during the day surely. They may just think it's a demon that swoops in a night but doesn't reside on the ship. Can't wait 😀

@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE Batman. Long ears are an integral part of his image. Without them he's like Daredevil. His mask looks unfinished.
The film presents the best version of Dracula. It combines all the trends of the past and the present. Some symbiosis. Some powerful Nosferatu. And the ears look nice and appropriate. In this configuration you really believe in its existence and that he can fly. He's kind of a big bat.

I really liked it, but i am being super bias lol. I am a sucker for creature features, specially if they are classic monsters, they did a solid job with the prectical parts and i dig the design, kinda between nosferatu and van helsing's dracula, the victims were pretty gnarly too, a couple walked out during THAT scene with the kid and didn't come back lol. It is honestly getting old that they keep trying to set up their monster verse, but this time it was very subtle, unlike Tom Cruise's Mummy lol. Not gona lie, my jaw dropped when he took out the Talbot's cane, that is without a doubt my favorite monster of all time and honestly it was a nice little end twist who Clemens turned out to be. I can't imagine it will do great at the box office being a horror but I would love it if it did. But at least Dracula is more known to all 😁
Time to do a movie review, dude.
I can't wait to buddy. Just got off from work for a week so I should have time :)
wasnt the picture of harvey bartett as the witch from "Mama"?
Possibly, he did play a witch in IT and it says so on IMDB etc but he's been so many monsters in so many films, maybe I got my wires crossed haha.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDEok i will show mercy for now 😁. i just wanted to be a smartass i think
blessings
Dread, horror, darkness, all the things you want to see with a creature as formidable as Dracula. I'm stoked to go see this.
I wonder if we'll see him in a more civilized form or always the beast? Either way, yes, I think this film will be one of those delights you watch many times.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE As others have said I hope we get to see the "human" version at the very end. I'm excited to see this creature horror version because it's not one we get to see very often. This is also a version that probably won't end with the 300 year old vampire that buys a house with floor to ceiling windows and gets killed by sunlight trope.
@@kath3509 I hear you. I just hope they don't set up another universal monster franchise from this and if they do make sequels, they should purely keep to the Dracula story and respect the novel.
If they only knew or it was written that with some garlicg all problems would'been solved lol
I haven't read the original novel so I don't even know if a crucifix would be effective ;)
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I have, and although is imperative for a horror movie to do some changes in the original captain's log Dracula never appears as a bat the crew describing him as a tall dark figure appearing and desapearing once the ship arrives in London all they found was a black dog and the captain tied to the mast whom was given a proper service and buried in the hills of an old church
@@BABADOOK726 excellent. I wonder if they will alter how many of the crew will survive? Will be interesting to also see if they create any more sequels based on other chapters.
Can't believe no one had a Crucifix.
Hindsight is a bitch haha
They did and it did nothing
Looks good
Yeah the film turned out to be very nice, not perfect but well worth a watch. Had some great cinematography and scary shots of the creature.
est. 1897
Thanks dude
I know why I need to see it. It looks bad af
Amen to that. It also looks like the studio haven't interfered as it is a smaller production 😉
1897.
thanks
I saw the film tonight. I gotta say, if Universal wants to reopen the Universal Monster Franchise. This would be the film to begin with. Cause at the end.. they kinda left it open. And instead of a bela lugosi/Gary Oldman look.. they Went with the Max Schreck Vampire look. Which I am all For💯💯 also did anyone Else Notice The (1941)Wolfman walking Stick... the wolf head with the pentagram. That was a nice touch💯💯 to see Dracula Walking with it.
Hmm, interesting indeed. I still haven't seen it sadly but I was anxious about a universal monster universe opening up but as long the film is good, then what a great start. Thanks for the feedback.
Can't Wait
I'm pretty damm hyped my friend, I just hope it's not so niche that people don't watch it
Looking forward to watching this like yourself! PS I could listen to your voice all day!
Thanks so much. I'm only just starting out on UA-cam and aim to make content that is meaningful as to me, it seems so many just read from articles and rush etc. Glad you liked it and thanks so much for the kind words. Now i know I'm heading in the right direction 🤗😎
Ooooh my favorite horror comedies ! Love the make-up. Cheesey dialog is priceless 😅😮😂
Are you referring to Scream? 😉
I totally want to see this film!!! It looks AWESOME!!!
Rarely do us horror fans all unite in positivity about an upcoming film haha. That must mean something 😁
Demeter was the BEST Gothic style horror Ive seen in a while. I didnt like the trailer, but the movie was amazing. Nice slow burn, no pun intended.
Indeed, I started calling it Alien '79 on a boat while watching it. Cant wait for the sequel.
Love your feedback. I never expected it to be as perfect as Alien but it's nice to know we have another horror in the bag so to speak. How hard can it be to make a good horror film really? 😉
❤
I cant wait
yeah buddy, films like this are too few sadly.
Meh!
no?
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE Absolutely! Ukraine does not approve!
I will watch this movie because the Spielberg team made this movie. And as I understand it, movies about Spielberg and his team have incisive propaganda potential or at least partially reveal future government programs in the USA. Often these movies also have recruiting potential for US services
Haha, great call out. I did hear Joe Rogan speak about Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind and how that revealed some top secret things or was inspired by them.
Diversity cast = No watch.
Didn't they have many races trading between countries in 1897? Same time I know what you mean when some projects feel like box ticking 😉
So, you only watch movies with white men in them- what a dumb, ignorant perspective on art.
