Minor correction: book Dracula has no "true love". He's just evil. He goes to London because he considers it the center of the (then) modern world. And I personally found the book parts of the Demeter story rather creepy. Not much to say about the creature design. I think you have to have monstrous Dracula here. Suave human seeming Dracula snack attacking crewmen would just be silly. All in all though, I'm glad they at least attempted this. It's a neat idea and does something new with existing material.
I’m just writing this within the first three minutes of the video maybe it’s addressed later on. But I think it makes sense for Dracula to be in this inhuman demon form on the Demeter. He doesn’t have to be the charismatic ladies man that he pretends to be on a boat full of sailors that he can feed on the fear of. He can let loose as they say
He was in demon form and after drinking enough blood be can turn into a gentleman of leisure with top hat 🎩 and cane. We get a glimpse of that at the end.
I don't think the host read the book. The movie put in the love story, it wasn't present in the novel. Dracula could become a nasty monster in the book and even when he took a human form he had that uncanny valley feel. He wasn't a twilight vampire lol This is classic Dracula before Hollywood came in, which is kind of ironic considering lol
9:09 - it's actually in the book. When Jonathan Harker goes to his castle in the beginning (before the Demeter ride), it's revealed that Dracula learned English for his upcoming move to England. ( I don't know where he got the 'true love' or whatever he talked about in the beginning )
Yeah, the love story is not in the book.. but they added it in the movie with Gary Oldman, where Dracula’s wife looks exactly like Mina - so that’s probably where that comes from
I honestly really liked Dracula in this movie. He’s conserving energy on the journey, so it makes sense that he would have a more “true” vampiric form. Plus, I like monstrous vamps, instead of Hollywood pretty boys they like to make
I like the transfusion without regard for blood type bc that happens A LOT in the Dracula novel. Blood transfusion was kinda the hot new thing at the time, so Bram used it a lot in his book. The whole blood type thing is just kinda dismissed/not mentioned bc they didn't know about it. So I like that they included that lil detail, it's neat! :)
Uneducated doctor +crew is just there. Brainless... why didn't they search other cargo boxes after discovering actual person in one of them.. also. . I would rip open every plank on the deck letting sunlight in every corner of the ship .. they had 🪓 🪓 🪓..
If you go back and watch the Gary oldman Dracula, yes he usually is in a more human form. But there is a scene where van helsing basically outs him and he transforms into this towering bat monster. I would say the reason he doesn’t go a bit more human on the boat is because he doesn’t have to, he knows he’s going to kill everyone so there’s no point expending the energy to disguise himself as a human
the oddest thing about the sunlight bit is that, in the orignal novel, sunlight never *killed* dracula--that trope originated with noseferatu. in the novel, the sunlight just slightly weakened drac but at multiple points he moves around in the sunlight. tmi he just prefers walking around at night because that's when he's stronger, plus it's harder for humans to notice that he doesn't cast a shadow
also just being bitten and fed on by a vampire was not how one became a vampire. the movie took inspiration from the book but its obvious they didnt really care much for faithfullness to source material
@@leiajiang7877 A lot of vamp folklore don't have them being charming or beautiful, just corpses that are sometimes intelligent, sometimes animalistically feral.
I think the reason why at the end he reappeared as a monster to Clements was on purpose, so Clements knew its him. Wouldn't make sense Dracula walking around a pub or the city in his monster form, people would notice. He did after all wore a hat, long coat and leather gloves which means he was in his human form already.
He doesn't need to use his monster form to notify Clemens of his presense. The cane and the double knocking would have been enough. I think he wanted to scare him because Clemens was bragging about not being scared of him and all

I really liked this movie and I loved the portrayal of THE MONSTER people think of an elitist in the suit and forget that it’s a monster pretending to be human, not a human that turns into a monster
Thaaaaaank you. They didn't read the book. This is who he was before Hollywood sunk its teeth into Drac, pun intended. Dudes a demon, he doesn't care about love, he cares about blood.
Yeah the movie was good but holy shit was their portrayal of Dracula and Mina just a shit stain on the movie also never forget Dracula raping Lucy in his werewolf looking form since she never consented due to his ability to control minds
The point of the movie was the story of the crew, not Dracula per se. Also, it's likely you could explain Dracula's form on the boat the product of him being surrounded by deep and swift moving water when he isn't in his grave-soil filled casket. He needs blood, but he's getting dragged over supernatural gravel to get it.
@bleh329 The entire point of Dracula's form is that the charming "gentleman" is just a mask. He's a heartless monster that people fool themselves into thinking is anything else.
It depends what yo mean byt the "story of the crew". If you mean the ORIGINAL crew from the book, then your statement is false. This moive adds four characters that were not in the original book and completely emasculates the captain, (who is the HERO in the book). They also completely eliminate the idea that Dracula is afraid of the cross. Btw, the characters added were the know-it-all black guy, the mary sue, some kid to make the captain weaker, and some religious filipino who dies because his cross does nothing to protect him. In other words, this movie is woke trash. They even include a random, out of place speech about the black guy's skin color. 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
At the ending, weren't they trying to imply Dracula is to be Jack The Ripper in the sequel??? Ngl I got chills and interested. I'd rather see a continuation of this rather than another garage marvel movie
I thought it made sense that the crew didn't figure out what seems obvious to the audience through years of stories about vampires, since they hadn't been exposed to all the vampire cliches. They're seeing it all for the first time.
6:52 The movie may have taken some massive liabilities, but apparently the writers read enough of the book to know that even the other doctors in the book weren't concerned with blood type during transfusions.
Hi, I got a request for you. I saw a movie called 'Magical girl', spanish movie, I think it came out in 2014. I would really appreciate it if you made a ending explained for that movie. Thank you.

London again! The makers of this film never read the book! The ship Demeter runs aground in WHITBY, Yorkshire. Whitby is about 260miles from London. Whitby is also where Bram Stoker wrote a lot of the Dracula book.

the ship landed in whitby... literally the opening of the movie
I learned from Red Letter Media that the reason the costumes in Coppola's Dracula are so interesting, is the movie a Japanese costume director who didn't know who Dracula was. So that was her take on what those wardrobes would look like and it ended up being pretty iconic. If true, just a fun little tidbit.
The practical effects look like the form he takes in Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula look when he is in the same form as he is interrupted sharing blood with Mina. Garry Oldman was quite the Dracula. He is such a talented actor.

I foresee two possible ways this ending could tie in to the original Dracula storyline, while wrapping up Clemens’s story. In my opinion, either: 1. Clemens goes mano a mano with Dracula in that alleyway and gets turned into dessert, or 2. Clemens loses sight of Dracula and later links up with Jonathan Harker, Mina, Professor Van Helsing, and the rest to go after Dracula then. Ever since I saw this movie, I have started picturing Clemens as one of the unnamed side characters in Bram Stoker’s Dracula(1992) that takes part in the final race to Dracula’s castle, if the second theory is what you subscribe to. Either way, that’s just my opinion.
2:39 i hate the take you just said. Dracula is always depicted as this Human that drinks blood. But if you read the books dracula is a Monster that roams the earth in the form of a dude. this is THE MONSTER.
Maybe Dracula’s personality could be molded to be more like how the classic story portrays him, but I actually like the new look. I’ve never found Dracula scary. He just looks like a normal guy to me. But the new look is way more terrifying
Dracula is also never portrayed as Handsome or much of a ladies man in the book he's a very tall skinny man who has a receding hairline very gaunt and pointy features including a hooked nose and a mustache. And when he interacts with Women it's never sexy or seductive but more mean spirited and rapey.
Overall pretty solid movie....save for the fact it should've stuck to the book's ending and EVERYONE Clemons included dies in the end. It makes not a lick of sense for Dracula to leave anyone on that ship alive for any reason other than sequel bait which this movie is never gonna get.
Watched it in theaters. Loved the movie. They should have had Dracula look withered almost flesh and bones. As more he consumes the more human he starts looking. Yes Clemson named should have been Van Helsing.
I dunno,I've seen enough people as is complain about him being a smart black guy, think the Van Helsing part would have sent these people over the edge. But yes it would be a cool addition
@@BladeAlmighty90 People complain because it's disrespectful to take someone else's work and add your own woke agenda into it. In the original novel, there is no black guy, and the last two who put up a fight against Dracula are the Captain and his first mate. In the novel, Van Helsing is a Dutch Doctor with blue eyes. He is never in the Demeter so I'm not sure why people want celmens to be some van helsing. It makes no sense. I actually really enjoyed the film, 9/10 in my opinion. Plus I loved the Dracula design. when I think of Dracula I do think of something like the Hugh Jackman Van Helsing Dracula so this Dracula hit those buttons. I just wish the film didn't bomb, would've loved to see what they did with sequels.
I love how they portrayed Dracula in this specifically because it's different from what everyone is used to, as someone said here in the comments he doesn't have to disguise himself as the charismatic ladies man people think of. I also like how they subtly show how he loves to toy with his victims. The movie definitely has its flaws but I still found it enjoyable.
Another great review Chris. There is a scene in the blaxploitation film called Blacula that I want to reference here. They realize they are dealing with a vampire and so they try to attack the coffin, but it is surrounded by his turned minions. After a grueling battle, Blacula appears outside of the now burning building the heroes set fire to in order to stop Blacula's minions. Blacula appears outside and gloats telling them that he was on to them. A similar situation happens in the cult classic Fright Night 2 when Charlie Brewster attempts to destroy the countess coffin, but she appears and tells them that she has others stashed in different places. So, getting the coffin outside probably would not have worked. They were pretty much eff'd and the best strategy to survive was to not only abandon ship, but to do it at first light. If they had any type of bleach like material or something to throw off Drac's sense, then that would be encouraged as well. Also, we are dealing with guys who were not known for intelligence. This is why the only intelligent guy survived the situation. I didn't see a problem with adding Clemmens because he could have easily been one of Dracula's victims in the next chapter. His death could put Van Helsing on the trail of Dracula.
This movie was fantastic and a damn shame it was only in an extremely limited amount of theaters for a single week where I live. Movie needs a dvd release and a sequel
There isn’t a way to do a sequel. He is on the boat for the singular trip. In the book he is taken back to his castle over land by his Romani protectors.
@@wesjall now I am sad, I wanted to pretend that it wouldn’t happen. If you haven’t read Bram Stoker’s book you definitely should. I saw the movie and red the book growing up. Gary Oldman is a fantastic actor. I feel like they all were. Lucy’s suitors we’re perfectly cast. Quincey was my favorite.
Dracula on the Demeter is more devastating and a monster. He leaves the ship in ruin and everyone dead, so the monster look never bothered me. What did bother me is that there was a survivor. NO ONE survived in the book. And the movie should have reflected that.
I agree. The story of the ghost ship being found is cool enough, we didn't need to hint that they may remake every dracula movie with the required persons of color. There- I said it
I enjoyed this movie. Great performances, decently tense story, which is tough to accomplish when you already know how it's going to end. That being said i did also find the ending silly, since we know that character has nothing to do with the demise of Dracula. You did mess up though Found Flix, Anna didn’t turn at the end because she was bitten in the final battle. She was finally succumbing to the infection she had from the very beginning. She tells Clemmens his blood infusions slowed the process but she knew she would change eventually

I saw this one in theaters, and I thought it was ok. Not great, but much better than I was expecting. Did some interesting things, setting was better than expected, gave us a pretty likable cast that we were sad to see taken out. Solid 7/10.
you seem to forget he couldnt eat those bringing the crates with him in, its why he had that girl, not for on the ship, she was almost gone, it was for the days he had to travel from his castell to coast. you thought about the ship and him needing to eat them, he took the girl to feed on to get there, if he had made himself known he wouldnt of got on the ship.. i think this was the best Dracula movie since Untold.. really well done, especially when like you say it was from a chapter in the book.. you see him at the end in human form..
I correctly predicted everything that was going to happen in the movie. That being said, I still enjoyed it. The easiest way to kill Dracula and lose the least amount of people possible that I could come up with is, wait until daytime, and set the ship on fire and leave via lifeboat. The only problem with that I can think of is that I don’t know if Dracula would be effected by the sun underwater if he were to jump in and swim. Can he hold his breath for more than several minutes at a time? Can he even swim? Who knows. Although, if he came up for air, his head would get set on fire.

no need to sink the boat, just use daylight while dracula is asleep and throw all the dirt crates to the sea, easy ridance
they could have easily leave the ship to burn in broad day light while using a make shift raft or a boat to escape, Dracula would have no away of escaping.

or, easier option, throw all the dirt crates to the sea and keep sailing as if nothing ever happened
I like the movie. Victims didnt know how to fight the monster so its hard to defeat it. The design is good. Yeah sometimes the cgi distract the scene but its fine. Love the settings and the story. I wish they do a human form of something famous actor to dracula for more impact in the ending. Not perfect but its good. 7/10
This movie was actually good but the critics who watch 10,000 movies a year didn’t enjoy it. Casual movie goers who go to the cinema a few times a year really enjoyed this one and aren’t looking for movie tropes
Curious... have you read Dracula? Because 1. Dracula did not go to London to search for his long lost love. 2. Dracula has learned English and speaks it very well because he is moving to London and wants to blend in there. 3. The descriptions (especially early on in the book) of Dracula aren't... handsome. There's red eyes and pointy ears and sharp teeth.
I enjoyed this movie more than I expected to (even after I realized it was more of a slow burn than I initially thought it would be). I also loved the ending. It was so simple but so effective with the motion of reaching towards Clemens’ cut/scratch. The banging of the cane, the disappearing into the night. I loved all that BUT I have to agree that it was a bit of a letdown that he wasn’t revealed to be Dr. Van Helsing in the end. In my mind, he basically is so I find comfort in that thought 🤣 It’s also crazy that they had practical effects and then the CGI pretty much ruined that. But good to know either way. I agree this had A LOT of potential Thanks so much for covering this one!!
Dr. Van Helsing is white. In the novel he is described so and is also described as DUTCH. So how is clemens going to be Van Helsing? Obviously you are falling for this revisionist bullshit. This movie is woke trash and pays ZERO respect to the original material. In the ACTUAL novel, everyone hails the Captain as a hero for standing his ground against Dracula and the reason why Dracula does not take his body is because he is holding the cross. This movie inserted the know-it-all black guy, a mary sue, some kid to make the Captain weaker, and the filipino who dies despite being devout and full of crucifixes. In the original novel, Dracula cannot stand the sight of the crucifix. Here, to push an anti-religious agenda, the crucifix does nothing. Also clemens has a stupid, out of nowhere speech about his skin color, just in case it wasn't clear that there is an agenda here. A WOKE agenda. You should go educate yourself on the original novel. If you have any actual respect for other people's work, you'll see how they botched this movie. If you're just another wokester, then I'm sure you'll ignore the fact that revision to classics like this doesn't actually change the past and it just shows how lazy and disrespectful this new woke generation is.

The movie felt like it had some last minute edit because it ended up being a generic monster film when it could've been amazing but the ending with Dracula in the pub gave me fucking chills
First, I really like this chapter in the book, & I’m glad that someone brought it to the big screen. It fills my heart w/ such joy to see. Second, blood transfusions were like the hot new science at the time & not truly understood. They had no concept of blood types. There are A LOT of transfusions in the book that happen & there’s no regard for type. (Another faithfully adapted element!😍) Third, it’s great to see Dracula in his base form. He gets more human-looking & younger when well-fed. It’s reflective of his true nature as a monster that leeches off of others to survive. A parasite. There’s actually a lot of vampire lore in the book that didn’t get brought into pop culture. It could be awesome to see in later adaptations.
I don't get the flack the Dracula design gets, it's a version of his bat form which I think is really cool. A dude in a suit isn't all that scary so to have him in this sort of depraved form is really cool. I wanna see more monster vampires in media, like the ones in the Witcher 3 game. This Dracula looks like the Unseen Elder.
Monster vampires are overused. Idk why the comments pretend this is a fresh take on vampires. The Strain? 30 Days of Night? Blade? Midnight Mass? Actually MM is a good example of a fresh spin on monster vampires, since he progressively appears more human-like in appearance and behavior the more people he feeds on
@@Terszel You're conflating feral vampires and monster vampires a bit. The Midnight Mass vampire is cool and it's the only one that kinda applies, but the others are just feral or kinda odd looking humans. When I talk about monster vampires I'm talking about stuff like Draculas bat form in Bram Stokers Dracula, and Varghulfs from Warhammer. I don't know what "MM" refers to.
the main problem with prequels is that you know they can’t kill the main character. so no matter what you can only root for the other characters so much before you realize, they are never gonna win against dracula.
In the book there was no love stoey involving dracula, that was the movie. Dracula was just evil in the book, not sympathetic. Dude, did you read the book? This portrayal was perfect. At the end he took on his human form in the bar. I'm pissed Van Helshing wasn't the doctor. Other than that Dracula was perfect, the lore about him loving on a mountain in a castle, his semi, uncanny valley human appearance before he takes on his bat form; the book describes this. Hes not a Twilight cuck in the book, hes a monster.
The movie was ok but to be fair, even in the book he can speak English because he learned it beforehand traveling to London. He is talking and hanging out with Harker some time before starting his journey.
So is just Dracula's bite infectious? Because in the book, my impression is that you have to be bitten but then also drink a vampires blood also. That is why Jonathan Harker did not become a vampire from the 3 Dracula's brides. Van Helsing asked Jonathan while being fed on, did he ever ingest their blood.
I will say that I loved their portrayal of Dracula one more to try and strike fear like a state of Dracula being drained on his feed of blood. Slowly getting more and more humanoid like towards the end. And yes although it sucks they had to make it CGI it adds in a way to the inhuman thing that he is.
I'm pretty sure this movie's version of Dracula is based off Nosferatu, aka the OG vampire icon BEFORE the Bela Legosi version that most people associate now as Classic Dracula.
I appreciated this film actually for all of its elements once I was done watching. Yeah there were some holes plot wise but overall, I love this Older demon like Pre -Stage of Dracula that is still animal like before he gains enough blood to get that more human look we get a peak at in the end. The end looks like a setup for a potential Van Helsing sequel! Loved this movie!
I did not know this was shot with practical effects originally. That's really so sad. The main issue I had with the film was the slick NPC-osferatu that stepped right out of a Legacy of Cain game from a lifetime ago. God it looked awful. I wish there were completed shots we could see of the practical effects only so we could really see the difference, but it is hard to believe that it somehow looked worse. Puppets are spooky and wet puppets are down right horrifying. We could have had that, and apparently we did, but they pained over it using the PS2-ify paint tool. They hired an amazing and overwhelmingly competent effects guy and actor, but then someone decides, "nah, it would look better if we replace all of these hand made effects and the performance with computer generated dreck." Whoever made this decision should never be allowed anywhere near a film ever again.
Very fresh take on dracula in my opinion and the movie was not supposed to focus completely on Dracula, it is in the title lol this was a really bleak and interesting film

I think the most important thing to remember about Dracula is that he isn’t a man becoming a monster, but a monster pretending to be a man. What happens when he doesn’t have to pretend anymore? You get just the unbridled predator. That being said though, he does have an intelligence and manipulative streak through. So he still, at his core, feels like Dracula to me.
you missed the point, he was in the crates travelling by horse from Transilvania to the coast, so he went from looking like he does at the end, like a human, to the monster he is. she explains it in the movie!!!
I think this slots in nicely with the Coppola version. There's a sequence in that movie that shows the crew getting attacked but doesn't go into detail. This fills in that "chapter".
Clemens does not have to be Van Helsing. He just wants to destroy Dracula. But we will never know if he dies by Dracula's hand or goes insane because he never got to confront him again. Could have even made Clemens be the one who teaches Van Helsing how to battle Dracula after years of searching. Sucks that it did not do well. I enjoyed this so much.
I personally thought the take on dracula was refreshing, portraying him more like a cunning monster than a man. dracula always seemed more animalistic and scary to me than hollywood's "vampire". what I didn't like were the nonsensical decisions the characters made throughout the movie. the demon only hunts at night? let's search the bowels of the ship after the sun sets. the demon has only been attacking/killing one person at a time? let's all split up while hunting it.
I loved the movie and I don’t believe they ever planned on a sequel. I just loved the cliffhanger knowing that Clemens will be searching for Dracula and the rest is up to the imagination

the movie took inspiration from the book but its obvious they didnt really care much for faithfullness to source material
I personally love this rendition of Dracula. There's not a lot of monstrous vampires in media and it's so refreshing to see one like this
Kinda just a fast nosferatu tbh
Midnight Mass did this vampire design much much better tbh
Opposite camp here too many ugly monsters everywhere, leave the dracs and vamps alone
@@leiajiang7877 A lot of vamp folklore don't have them being charming or beautiful, just corpses that are sometimes intelligent, sometimes animalistically feral.
@@leiajiang7877This is far closer to Dracula’s original description. He wasn’t described as attractive until Bela Lugosi played him.
I think the reason why at the end he reappeared as a monster to Clements was on purpose, so Clements knew its him. Wouldn't make sense Dracula walking around a pub or the city in his monster form, people would notice. He did after all wore a hat, long coat and leather gloves which means he was in his human form already.
And I pictured his Gary Oldman form 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He doesn't need to use his monster form to notify Clemens of his presense. The cane and the double knocking would have been enough. I think he wanted to scare him because Clemens was bragging about not being scared of him and all

It's a good movie but the crew doesn't do much. They don't really fight back much. Great atmospheric creature feature but not as good as alien.
@@jonfreeman9682considering the entire point was that “no one” survived, I’d say that was kind of the point.

My head cannon for Dracula speaking is that Dracula is still learning English and thus repeats everything he hears.
London again! The makers of this film never read the book!
The ship Demeter runs aground in WHITBY, Yorkshire.
Whitby is about 260miles from London. Whitby is also where Bram Stoker wrote a lot of the Dracula book.
the ship landed in whitby... literally the opening of the movie
didn't Dracula take that form at one point in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula? i could have sworn he did
you right- when he was attacked or injured by van helsing if I remember correctly
There’s literally nothing in the book saying he’s beautiful. He’s charming because he has the power of enchantment, but he’s also a shapeshifter.
This movie just made me want to rewatch Dracula Dead and Loving It. Cool set pieces, though.
The practical effects look like the form he takes in Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula look when he is in the same form as he is interrupted sharing blood with Mina. Garry Oldman was quite the Dracula. He is such a talented actor.
I will never get over how everyones complaint about this is that its not like every other dracula interpretation 😂.

I foresee two possible ways this ending could tie in to the original Dracula storyline, while wrapping up Clemens’s story. In my opinion, either:
1. Clemens goes mano a mano with Dracula in that alleyway and gets turned into dessert, or
The scene of Dracula where you can hardly make out his figure was really solid, movie was pretty great, need more like this.
"It's more like a demon bat creature"
So a vampire, yes.
Such a good movie! Thank you for covering!
2:39 i hate the take you just said. Dracula is always depicted as this Human that drinks blood. But if you read the books dracula is a Monster that roams the earth in the form of a dude. this is THE MONSTER.
It was so awesome!! Dracula was so creepy and menacing, i wonder if they will make another?
Maybe Dracula’s personality could be molded to be more like how the classic story portrays him, but I actually like the new look. I’ve never found Dracula scary. He just looks like a normal guy to me. But the new look is way more terrifying
Dracula is also never portrayed as Handsome or much of a ladies man in the book he's a very tall skinny man who has a receding hairline very gaunt and pointy features including a hooked nose and a mustache. And when he interacts with Women it's never sexy or seductive but more mean spirited and rapey.
I loved this movie, I’ve missed vampires being monsters
Overall pretty solid movie....save for the fact it should've stuck to the book's ending and EVERYONE Clemons included dies in the end. It makes not a lick of sense for Dracula to leave anyone on that ship alive for any reason other than sequel bait which this movie is never gonna get.
Watched it in theaters. Loved the movie. They should have had Dracula look withered almost flesh and bones. As more he consumes the more human he starts looking. Yes Clemson named should have been Van Helsing.

The captains log was one of the best chapters in the book. I was so excited they were making a movie out of it. Then this movie happened.
In my mind, he basically is so I find comfort in that thought 🤣
It’s also crazy that they had practical effects and then the CGI pretty much ruined that. But good to know either way. I agree this had A LOT of potential
Thanks so much for covering this one!!
So they didn't change the book to your liking?
Stupid movie... crew is just there. Brainless... why didn't they search other cargo boxes after discovering actual person in one of them.. also. . I would rip open every plank on the deck letting sunlight in every corner of the ship .. they had 🪓 🪓 🪓.. 😊
This take on Dracula was refreshing given the many prior Dracula films that kept regurgitating the same Dracula story over and over again!!
One of the best Dracula adaptations ever made. It's nice that Dracula is a dark force of nature instead of a romantic figure
(Another faithfully adapted element!😍)
Third, it’s great to see Dracula in his base form. He gets more human-looking & younger when well-fed. It’s reflective of his true nature as a monster that leeches off of others to survive. A parasite. There’s actually a lot of vampire lore in the book that didn’t get brought into pop culture. It could be awesome to see in later adaptations.
Also wanna add that Dracula can speak English, he does in the book
Any time I want to watch a movie but don’t have time, I just come to your channel. The reviews are great and funny too. Keep up the great work! 🤜🏻🤘🏻🤛🏻
Not really unique, and the cgi wasnt great. Still a pretty decent movie tho
In the book,
1) Dracula's goal had nothing to do with love. That's the movies. (0:44)
2) Dracula learned English from books. (9:08)
the main problem with prequels is that you know they can’t kill the main character. so no matter what you can only root for the other characters so much before you realize, they are never gonna win against dracula.
Dracula in this movie looks like some leader of the creatures from The Descent lol
I think it was a really great movie, hope they have a second one.
Yeah. Btw Nosferatu gets a Remake (made by Robert Eggers) and releases in 2024. Already in post production.
That kid is the same one from Cobweb, I was impressed by his performance if I have to be honest
Have you ever heard of "Where the Skin Lies" (2017)? It's such a confusing watch! I don't know anyone else that has come across or seen it. Can you please break it down? Love your videos!
I actually really liked the movie. The more monster design fits the "A monster that disguises itself as a man"

Out of all the UA-camrs, you are still my favorite recapper!!! cheers
This is an exceptional popcorn horror flick! Solid perfomances all around and a gorgeous vision.
The main problem is that the movie ignores common sense.
with common sense they would get rid of all the dirt crates, throwing them all to sea before the mid point of the movie and winning 🤣
Thanks for the upload now to sit back and relax
Isn’t that how Dracula’s look and design in the book tho?? He wasn’t exactly sexy in the novel either
