Would love to see a review of the Body Helix X4 Kevlar paddle. Surprisingly little mention of it so far. Kudos on continuous top level, articulate, and well thought out content. 👏👊
On the foam topic, review the NEXUS PROSTAR. You did not mention the "propulsion" feature of the core. The "flex" that the core does creates power as well as the foam.
This review made it sound like you think this paddle is a foam core all the way through. It’s just a ring of foam around the edge. The sweet spot or any area where you’ll actually be hitting the ball is still a traditional polypropylene core.
These do come slightly core crushed out of the box, same as the original Gen 3’s right? I could hear some crackle from the one I demo’d after one session
Neither of those paddle are tournament-legal...and for good reason. The Hush is getting 2800RPM spin and the most power and pop of any paddle currently.
I have a question…I’ve been playing seriously for about 6 months. A very athletic 65 year old. I was recently rated a 4.0. I’ve played with Selkirk Luxx elongated, Perseus, Mod TA 15, Scorpeus 14mm, Mach 2 Forza. Play best with the Mach 2. I want a little more power and pop. My strong suite is drives and drops. Any recommendations. I like lighter paddles.
Should maybe address the breaking of this paddle. I know 7 guys and gals who have bought them. All except 2 are broken (except the ladies paddles - we guess since they have a softer game) One broke within 2 weeks and within 1.5 months totally core crushed. Is warranty through you or directly with Joola on this paddle?
The paddle I got core crushed/delaminated after 2 weeks of play. During that time, it continued to get hotter and hotter until it was uncontrollable. This is a well documented problem from many players online. Joola will only replace one paddle and will not honor a return on the replacement. Their other Gen 3 paddles were banned shortly after they sold them and now the Mod Tech paddle only lasts a few weeks. I would not recommend this paddle or Joola as a company.
@@kabob21 I'm a guy who bought a $275 paddle, then it core crushed in two weeks. They did send me a new one, but they said if the replacement core crushes, they won't replace it. I asked if I could just return it and they said no. I copy and pasted the same comment to try and warn others from buying a paddle close to $300 that will core crush quickly. This is a well documented problem. Joola even admitted to shipping paddles that are produced with core crushing already. Just trying to save other picklers time/money.
@@austinbarnes3764The Hyperion C2 is absolutely amazing. Sucks that you got screwed, but just cuz that happened to you with one of their paddles doesn’t mean the whole company is terrible or doesn’t make any good products.
@ And? What’s the USAP and their failures to consistently test paddle eligibility have to do with Joola as a company? Lol. Gotta use your brain more than 50% of the time fam.
Ummm… it’s a hex polypropylene core like most other paddles but with a thin foam boarder around the “spring board” area of the poly core. The website literally says “REACTIVE HONEYCOMB CORE Specially tuned for the high-level player to maximize the consistency of the bounce and feel necessary for every shot.” The Ronbus Ripple and the CRBN are the only “foam core” paddles coming in the near future. The Ripple is the only currently approved “foam core”. Not great or accurate info on the technology here, eh?
Tbh unless you’re a hard hitting advanced player I don’t know how much core crushing actually happens. I’ve had mine (14mm) a few weeks and so far so good.
I have been using my paddle wrong… if this paddle feels soft because of the foam you must be hitting off the edge guard since thats the only place on this paddle thats foam lol😂
I have the 16mm. I figured out how to reset with it but my dinks are still suffering. Week 3 , this week hoping to get this down. What’s the difference between 14mm and 16mm Mod Ta when it comes to dinking. The 16mm sometimes I would dink and thought it would go over but it didn’t get the right spring to make it go over the net
The 14mm has more pop (slightly) and slightly smaller sweet spot but it's more controllable. I prefer it over the 16mm as it's less prone to core crushing and isn't as overpowered. I've had mine for 2 months and it's not had any core corruption/crushing issues.
I hate this new $400 dollar price point its insane, funny thing is I literally got my knock off alibaba one today so part of me is tempted to buy a real one just for comparison.
@@Cheezledzul yah $377 CAD plus tax is $400 plus CAD. Where in Canada has them for $220 Canadian cause thats the US price Ive seen is $220??? Hook me up for that price!!!!!!!!
What do you think about this paddle vs the Gearbox Pro Ultimate? Would love to know your thoughts!
crazy good paddle in the right hands. Fast and crazy dip for spin and forehand
Another excellent review! Love your channel!
Thank you for watching!
LOL love the Gen 3 comparison bit

Great video review like always Luca.
I would like read your comments about this one vs j2k. What I find. Because I j2k user
Great review

How does the mod TA compare to the ronbus ripple?

just saw your amazing review of the Ronbus Ripple, of these 2 paddles Which do you like better and why?
For me, the Ripple, but I am a little worried since the full release will be different to the one I tested.
These do come slightly core crushed out of the box, same as the original Gen 3’s right? I could hear some crackle from the one I demo’d after one session
Shouldn’t crackle at all, sounds like the demo you had was crushed already. I have a Mod 14mm and it doesn’t crackle/crunch/flex.
Do you prefer the 14mm or 16mm mod??
I got one. Loving it!
return it because you can't handle it
@ ?
Hudef new era eva foam and diadem hush: etpu foam face. Love these paddles. Power feel touch and spin. Try the hush. Incredible feel and touch.

Could you please tell me in your opinion, what's the differences between TA MOD n the new R1 Ripple you just reviewed? Thank you.
Mod TA-15 has an inner perimeter foam layer next to the outer edge foam whereas the Ripple injects in the honeycomb cells of the polypropylene core
How about vs j2k? Thanks!
Plays nothing like the J2K. Mod has way more power, pop and spin but less control.
Can you do the Poach M3

Spartus Apollo. Widebody shape like your M2F but with more pop/power.
Thank you. I appreciate the suggestion
Does it sound a like wood paddle when it is new?
A little bit, yes.

I here they are VERY prone to breakage. I'm not going to spend that kind of $ if the paddle is going to crush and become wild to play with
