    Would love to see a review of the Body Helix X4 Kevlar paddle.
    Surprisingly little mention of it so far.
    Kudos on continuous top level, articulate, and well thought out content. 👏👊

    How does the mod TA compare to the ronbus ripple?

  • @kimleith1378
    @kimleith1378 3 місяці тому

    On the foam topic, review the NEXUS PROSTAR. You did not mention the "propulsion" feature of the core. The "flex" that the core does creates power as well as the foam.

  • @douglasmurdoch7247
    @douglasmurdoch7247 3 місяці тому +2

    This review made it sound like you think this paddle is a foam core all the way through. It’s just a ring of foam around the edge. The sweet spot or any area where you’ll actually be hitting the ball is still a traditional polypropylene core.

    These do come slightly core crushed out of the box, same as the original Gen 3’s right? I could hear some crackle from the one I demo’d after one session

    • @kabob21
      @kabob21 20 днів тому

      Shouldn’t crackle at all, sounds like the demo you had was crushed already. I have a Mod 14mm and it doesn’t crackle/crunch/flex.

      Neither of those paddle are tournament-legal...and for good reason. The Hush is getting 2800RPM spin and the most power and pop of any paddle currently.

    I have a question…I’ve been playing seriously for about 6 months. A very athletic 65 year old. I was recently rated a 4.0. I’ve played with Selkirk Luxx elongated, Perseus, Mod TA 15, Scorpeus 14mm, Mach 2 Forza. Play best with the Mach 2. I want a little more power and pop. My strong suite is drives and drops. Any recommendations. I like lighter paddles.

    Should maybe address the breaking of this paddle. I know 7 guys and gals who have bought them. All except 2 are broken (except the ladies paddles - we guess since they have a softer game) One broke within 2 weeks and within 1.5 months totally core crushed. Is warranty through you or directly with Joola on this paddle?

  • @austinbarnes3764
    @austinbarnes3764 3 місяці тому +2

    The paddle I got core crushed/delaminated after 2 weeks of play. During that time, it continued to get hotter and hotter until it was uncontrollable. This is a well documented problem from many players online. Joola will only replace one paddle and will not honor a return on the replacement. Their other Gen 3 paddles were banned shortly after they sold them and now the Mod Tech paddle only lasts a few weeks. I would not recommend this paddle or Joola as a company.

      @@kabob21 I'm a guy who bought a $275 paddle, then it core crushed in two weeks. They did send me a new one, but they said if the replacement core crushes, they won't replace it. I asked if I could just return it and they said no. I copy and pasted the same comment to try and warn others from buying a paddle close to $300 that will core crush quickly. This is a well documented problem. Joola even admitted to shipping paddles that are produced with core crushing already. Just trying to save other picklers time/money.

    Ummm… it’s a hex polypropylene core like most other paddles but with a thin foam boarder around the “spring board” area of the poly core.
    The website literally says “REACTIVE HONEYCOMB CORE
    Specially tuned for the high-level player to maximize the consistency of the bounce and feel necessary for every shot.”
    The Ronbus Ripple and the CRBN are the only “foam core” paddles coming in the near future. The Ripple is the only currently approved “foam core”.
    Not great or accurate info on the technology here, eh?

    I have the 16mm. I figured out how to reset with it but my dinks are still suffering. Week 3 , this week hoping to get this down. What’s the difference between 14mm and 16mm Mod Ta when it comes to dinking. The 16mm sometimes I would dink and thought it would go over but it didn’t get the right spring to make it go over the net

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball

      I find the 16 to be a little more ambiguous than the 14 which may be the same issue you had with inconsistency.

    • @kabob21
      @kabob21 Місяць тому +1

      The 14mm has more pop (slightly) and slightly smaller sweet spot but it's more controllable. I prefer it over the 16mm as it's less prone to core crushing and isn't as overpowered. I've had mine for 2 months and it's not had any core corruption/crushing issues.
