I had a service man come to my house and give me a free estimate. Luckily he used to work with my dad at a previous job and told me how to do the job myself. Just dig a trench around the house like you did and add five gallons of water to what the instructions are told to add on the termidor. Then what I did was buy some termite stix sold at your local home depot or lowes. These termite stx are planted around your house and also are bait stations to the termites. They also let you know if the termites are feeding on it my a small stick going up on it when they start eating it. That's how I found at I had termites on the first place. Now no termites whatsover, thanks for posting. Good luck!
Good Video. Also, Taurus SC is the exact same product but cheaper. It is the generic version with the exact same active ingredients. Don't be fooled by the brand name. It is the same exact thing. Also, I worked for Terminix. I will say that when you do your back fill, it is better to pour that treatment too than spray the top. Yes, that is a bit nitpicky but if you really want to do it professional that is what the professionals do.
Christopher Wright Thanks for the tips. Taurus SC is a great alternative. I bought mine on sale so it was be same price at the time. For video purposes I wanted the name brand so home owners would see they can actually get the exact brand their pros will say they are using. Good idea to pour over the back fill instead of spraying it.
Taurus SC stops the ants. I respray the perimeter of our home about every 3 months at the 0.8 oz a gallon rate. If you see ants before you spray, they will be gone in 2 days.
@@phatheaded1 It kills ants, even carpenter ants. The instructions say to spray a band 1 foot in width on the house and also a 1 foot band on the grass/ground around the house. This needs to be repeated every six months. Carpenter and other ants are surface creatures so you need to treat them this way. Termites are subterranean so you need to ether dig a trench and apply Termidor/Taurus SC or install termite stations.
You did good job making the video and treatment is partially correct. 1. Drilling concrete you must use a ground breaker box Incase you hit plumbing, Wire or possibly a Tension cable in foundation. if you hit these it can cost more than a professional termite treatment and into the thousands $$. 2. With hard clay in Texas you will have to use a soil injection rod to break through they clay to inject a gallon or Termidor into the concrete hole. 3. If you sell your home do it yourself Termite treatment will not be accepted unless done by a professional. 4. Interior of all plumbing will need to be treated with Termidor foam. 5. Professional offer full warranty that can be transferred to new ownership if house is sold. If you can’t offered a professional Termite treatment by all means he is correct but follow these steps and do not drill with out a ground breaker box I’ve been in the industry 30 years and seen horrible disasters.
I'm a AC Tech by trade and this doesn't appear to be that difficult. Like you said a couple hours work. Its worth it vs the cost to pay someone. Thanks for the Video. I will be doing the exact same at my house.
Ok I think this would be fine for preventative treatment but if you have termites really bad I highly suggest using a professional. I am not trying to sell anyone anything I only operate in one state. I will give you a great pro tip on how to get the best treatment and price from a professional though. Call a successful realtor and ask them who they use. Then call that company and tell them that realtor sent you. That will get you a better price and service every time. 👌
The sentricon stations are a rip off if you go thru a pest control company. They charged me 300 to install and 300 a year to inspect. The 300 I paid the first year basically covered the cost of the stations and installation for the pest control company. The bait last indefinate period . My bait was 3 years old when they removed it and it still was good. It's measured with a ring gauge to check the diameter, mine was still near full diameter. Anyway, the three hundred a year is all gravy for the pest control company. They check the bait once a year, which takes about 30 minutes. When I cancelled the service, they came and pulled all the stations up, leaving the holes. which made it easy for me to install my own stations. Now I am saving 300 a year. I plan on trenching my house soon like shown..
Trenching the house would be useless because the sentricon stations, if that's what you are still using, are a far superior method of termite control if you keep the bait properly maintained.
@@ryanbuckner2405 Sentricon bait systems are not a superior method. Your house is also a termite bait - you are hoping the termites don't find. Also, some of the sentricon systems only have bait and not the termite killer, which means you are attracting termites near your house. This is why termite companies often offer you both the barrier treatment and the sentricon type systems. A correctly applied barrier treatment keeps them from getting to your home - mission accomplished.
@@ronjonix I respectfully disagree. I do termite control for a living. Modern sentricon has a synthetic wood compound blended with fipronil. I have been inspecting homes for 10 years and have only found termites in 2 houses that had sentricon around them. In both of those cases there were significant moisture issues under and around the home. Sentricon is the most effective termite control available on the market.
You can buy the sentricon bait station on ebay for about 10 bucks a station. My house will be trenched and baited. I have two infestation since I have lived here. One while I was under contract with a Pest control company, who only used the bait stations. If you live in the southeast, you need to do everything to stop termites.
A lot of pest control professionals don’t recommend bait stations. Bait stations tend to call in termites where there weren’t any before. If you don’t want termites, don’t ring the dinner bell (install bait stations).
What kind of licensing do I need to treat someone else’s home for termites? I don’t want to be receiving any bad phone calls from the epa. Very informative video!
I just had to rebuild the whole front of my house because of termite damage left behind from previous owners. I knew I was taking a risk in buying the home so no fraud here. Spent 4 months on garage door header wall, two bedrooms and the half bath and put up new siding. Used PT lumber and treated with Bora Care. Had barrier put in back in 21, now time to do it myself. Back of house needs to be done 17' of kitchen wall to outside with plumbing, elections natural gas lines all going through the load bearing wall. Will be a challenge as will be on generator and battery power while work is done.
Thank you for your help and I have another pest control company coming tomorrow morning and I'll ask them how they'll treat the house and what they'll use. I'm also going to check out the link you gave me. Thank you for your video post it's awesome and it helps a lot of people to help themselves. God bless you.
Thank you so much for this video. I have active termites, the subterranean ones. I have a pest control now who are using the bait things even though I have a infestation now. I'm 73 and and would like to do it myself. Wish me luck.
Ugh I have termites .where they want to treat I have a garden ...but then I have cement .... $1092 to treat I have the tunnels inside basement crawl space One tunnel is the length of wall Last night I moved alllll the junk my mother had saved ...off wood palates and I saw live termites as the palate lost a part of itself .... The pest control guy said he thinks they were feeding off wood palates What do you do with tunnels ...scrape off wall and discard ? Nightmare I want to treat myself but ........
I have wi ged termites inside my house. They are coming from behind my furnace where I can't reach. I have a slab house so no basement. I am going to do this myself. I am hoping if I do the trench thing, they will eventually die off inside my house??
@TightWadRepairs Thanks for posting this useful vid. I am a 1st time homeowner and had the house inspected for termites before purchase. Right now we are in whats called swarm season where large groups of termites fly around blindly looking to start new colonies. I had a swarm land in my backyard last week and several termite companies told me not to be too concerned. Of course I am concerned! I'm wondering if youre technique works against swarms?? Thanks
This product is said to be preventative but can also be used to kill active termites. The non-repellant nature of this product promotes the extermination of the entire swarm or colony. If you had this treatment applied to your home, it is said to work for over 10 years to prevent termites from getting into your homes. Frpm what I have read, swarmers are not actively feeding so they may not come into contact with the perimeter treatment before moving on to another location.
EaglesFan4NRA The chemicals can be purchased from domyownpestcontrol.com and the sprayer is just a standard garden sprayer you can buy at a hardware store.
I wanted to see you dig the trench to see how you managed the backfill and how you set it aside for easy put back. I already have a termite colony I side my home so I am going to put it extra solution! Twice as much! How long do you wait until you put the backfill back in?
@@TightWadDIY Well it's not like anyone is going to know. Why is it illegal anyway? Even the label says if you already have a colony inside your home, to increase to solution from .08 to 1.2 to 1.6
@@MilkyWayGalaxyy you don't really need to double it since it's submerged .you will only be wasting the product to over apply.the owner of the pest control company I worked for set us straight on over application.he said you can't kill them deader than dead.
@@TightWadDIY these products are governed by the EPA and the reason for not over applying is to prevent soil leaching which affects our waterways ,streams, and drinking water sources.the main reason it is regulated is to prevent that very thing overuse.overuse will cause the product to at some point build resistance in some insects ,termites included.they don't want to lose their last silver bullet in controlling termites
@Michael Merck good point. I already did this last summer. I ended up pouring on top as well but not for termites(turned out I never had termites but just flying ants!) But for ants and other insects that come into the house from traveling on top of the soil. Regardless, it went really well and killed everything. Turns out Taurus is also the best ant killer on the market from other videos I have seen from professionals.
This did not save you money. He put your home at risk because there is no way he or you has the right tools to spray the slabs after drilling holes and there is an art to doing it. And it does nothing to actually protect your home with an insurance policy for when this half way treatment fails. This is not how it's done now . There is an injection machine that does all the chemical mixture and injects it right into the soil without trenching with no damage to the yard or flower beds and no need to drill any holes. Do yourself a favor and this is not something out cut corners on. This cost me over $22,000 on my first home with one of these dyi treatments for the outer barrier and Terminex treated the soil while it was being built. Get professional help . In Alabama and Georgia Tabor Pest Control is great!
I want to thank you for this video. I’ve watched several of you’re videos and you have helped me tremendously! I’m sure the pros. Don’t appreciate these videos, however please keep them coming.👍
I'm confused. I get the whole perimeter concept. I don't get the whole "drill into your concrete" mentality. I understand they're trying to achieve the same trench affect but I am living in a house that used to have professional service and I see no holes every 18" across the driveway. Surely there mist be a less destructive way to carry a barrier around the home.
Russ Schampers I am not a professional installer but every one I spoke with said to drill. The instructions on the chemical say to drill and so do the guys at DoMyOwnPestControl.
we called a company for treatment they charge 2,500 to treat and that's with a discount. The cheapest we have found is 1,500 to treat. we haven't hired anyone. How much does the treatment cost? please send me the website to order the treatment thank you for your video..
I have performed this technique using the Taurus product. To help augment the termaticide getting to the right places on deeper areas and where you have basements, I used a piece of rebar with a rotary hammer drill and a fence puller to ensure it was reaching the right places. I came out 6 inches with the trench and every 12 inches I put in the rebar to create vertical holes for the solution to channel. It is laborious, I did it in a weekend, but saved a lot of money. It works. I did not know it lasted 10 years. I thought more along the lines of 4. In my garage on the slab, I did drill in the slab the holes and when around with a sprayer of termatacide and filled them. I leave them open and still have yet to see any bugs coming in. You can use a quick patch compound to cover them, but I left them open for ease of access. Seems to work great.
Thanks for the informative video! I have found one spot of a basement window with wood rot/ termites. Just saw a few. Inside that window has a little wood rot as well. All other wood on interior basement appears to be ok, just the outside wood that was under dirt. Do you think it is suitable to use taurus/ termidor just on that one side of the home if hat has the window? Thinking I might put termite stix around home to see if it detects any other termite around house. I'd like to put a window well where the bottom of the window was touching ground level to make it up to code. Not sure how to go about that with termidor. Window well will be small/ 18" height total, with some above ground of course. Have to go deeper for pea gravel and such. Any advise? Thanks
Yes a pump sprayer is the way to go. Not a funnel. A funnel may be able to add ounces at a time. A pump sprayer can spray a higher amount of chemical at one time.
Thanks for the video! I had a large quote for a company to treat termites. Not live but had old termite stud in a bathroom remodel. same process you are doing but they also said in raised foundation with a crawl space they would spray Termidor there too. Did you treat underneath the home or is trench only area?
My home is on a basement, not a crawl space. I don’t think you are allowed to spray Termidor on top of the ground but you would have to read the label or contact them.
@@TightWadDIY you can apply termidor on the ground at .6 percent solution but it's is no longer considered a termiticide since it isn't submerged and covered with soil.this is an adequate ant control but it won't reach the termites and the residual is about 180 days under ideal conditions .you can use this product twice a year but talstar is the same active ingredient but can be used more often ,check the label for specifics
Does enyone know what the sence to dig a trenche to apply Termidor and... drill the foundation around the house and spray the same substance un that holes? It looks like the same... But some videos advised us to do like that- both - thenche pouring and drilling/squirting... One more question- can we use Termidor indoor? Fotr example to treat studs, logs, and all the attic structural timber? Thank you
Alexander Chuyko You can’t use termidor inside. Unless you have active termites I wouldn’t trench and drill spray the entire perimeter. You should trench the areas where dirt meets the foundation and then drill and inject areas where concrete meets the house such as patios or sidewalks.
@@TightWadDIY Oh, thank you! Now it`s clear! But Termidor is used to spray gaps between brick venier and drywall. There are special holes from outside masonry at the boottom side. Does it mean it`s an inside or outside termidor use? What exactly you would recommend to prevent termite attack inside (studs, roof rafters, etc), please? Borax (Boric acid) or something else? I have noticed a woodworms activity at a bathroom leakage area. Is Borax or Termidor can be used as a universal treatment for foth "creatures" - worms and termites, or I need to apply different chemicals for each of them, please? Thank you
TightWadDIY , do you have to use a pressurized sprayer or can it just be added slowly with the long funnel to each hole? Also, if a pressurized sprayer is needed, is that something that you could rent or buy from like Hone Depot?
Hi I live in Georgia, would it hurt if I do a little stronger mixture? My house is brand new, but there a lot construction going on around. Also, I plan to use baits. There is a local company that uses a 4000psi pump to do pump the liquid into the ground.
Everything was accurate except for one thing. Spraying the backfill after you close the trench back up would be considered free spraying, which is against label
what if you have a swarm inside the house (coming from in the attic to the main floor). would using rolled up cardboard, dipped in the termador solution, dried and then letting it set out in the attic...do you think that would kill the termites by attractive them, they eat it, bring it back to the nest and kill the colony inside the home? does the termador have to be wet in order for it to work?
What about if you have a mobile home...would trenching perimeter be pointless since they are probably directly under the home or would it still be beneficial because they still would be going outside that radius?
It`s a nice tutorial! - to dig the soil or to drill holes when there is a concrete driveway. But what we have to do when a timber decking (hardwood) is meeteng an outside wall (brick veneer), please? There is no appropriate gap to dig a tranche there. Do we nwwd to take all the decking out for the digging and treatment around or threre is a ssmarter way to do this, please? Thank you
Alexander Chuyko Thank you. That is a great question. I think your solution is a good idea. Remove the boards then replace them. If you sprayed on top of the dirt, the treatment would not be effective long term due to runoff.
@@TightWadDIY Oh, thank you. And what if I would drill deep holes in a dirt and clay in between the wall and timber instead? Like it has to be done with concrete surfaces, but without concrete? Can it work in your opinion, please? Or, alternatively, that`s much easier (than remove megatonns of nailed decking pieces) for me to make holes in the foundation slab from inside of the house. It would be nearly the same like with a drive way, but slightly behind a drywall. Which way would be more effective according your experience, or,... no chance- decking out only, please?
Great video. Simple instructions and easy to follow. Couldn’t you also drill down into the dirt just like slab treatment? This would reduce the necessary labour of digging a trench.
I found active termites around my fence. How do I treat them? Do I need to dig trench like you showed in the video along the fence? If so, do I need to dig underneath the fence or around it? Do you think I need to do the treatment around my house as well even though I did not find any termites near the house? Thanks in advance.
L Wang I definitely think you should treat your house. There are several variables when it comes to the fence so I can't provide a concrete answer. Ask a professional to come give you an estimate and see what they recommend.
Thanks for posting this. I suppose there is no easy way to the trench method underneath the driveway/entrance under concrete. Drill then pour? Seems like one could almost dig a tunnel trench underneath, although that might take long.
@@TightWadDIY Someone is suppose to be doing termite treatment for my home and he is using "Taurus SC" around the perimeter of my home, not drilling the garage. This is what is proposed and is this good enough for a 3300 sq ft home? Is he using less product or something?
If you use more than what's recommended, you could contaminate your groundwater. This product don't kill termites right away, it coats the termite with the product and they pass along to other termites by touching them. Hopefully, they will go back to their nest and they will each infect each other and they will all die within 4 to 5 days
So how would I treat if theres no dirt against the house just concrete and siding. Would I drill holes into house? My back yard is like that any suggestions?
@@TightWadDIY no its just the back yard has the concrete porch that goes up to the house. The front and sides of house are ground dirt. So would I drill into the back porch?
Elroy Ortiz Oh ok. I misread your original post. You would drill holes in the concrete patio and pour in the solution. I suggest going to DoMyOwnPestControl dot com and watching their video.
Elroy Ortiz It’s very labor intensive so that’s why it’s so expensive. You will need a rotary hammer drill and a long 1/2 or larger bit. You will also need a funnel.
Taurus is a great product but if you want to kill the termites effectively, using Termidor HE has a higher concentration of fipronil which will kill the termites and their colony. Taurus SC isn’t as strong as Termidor HE so you have to use more to get the same outcome.
@@TightWadDIY I did that a few times (3 years) already, but still have them. I was concerned about using these chemicals INSIDE the home (which they wanted to do), so we only did treatments around the house. I was thinking of the TAURUS SC INSECTICIDE, but was wondering if it's safe enough inside, mainly for my pets.
@@sanverkanidinc4870 You did what already? Call an exterminator? Yeah I always thought that was a waste of money bc they need to keep coming and charge so much. I am going to dig a trench and do it myself. Can't decide on termidor vs Taurus?

One thing when using pesticides remember the label is the law and using it inconsistent with it's label is a violation of federal law and some pesticides do say to only be used by a licensed person
I'm just going to treat my house for the first time using Termidor. I have a basement too and my concern is what is to prevent the termite going beneath the Termidor in the ground . I have had active swarm in my attic and can't afford an exterminator. I'm just trying to tear out the damage I have found and I'm going to try to treat it is best I can learn from places like this.
C Clifton Most companies will give you a free estimate. I would call one and ask what their plan of action would be. If it sounds doable take care of it yourself. If not, pay them to do it.
For the slab you cant get away with drilling the slab then mixing thermidor and then pouring the chemical into each holes using a funnel lol you need a long wand attachment to your sprayer that runs off of a motor in the back of your truck with a tank called a skid. You need that because of the psi that pushes the chemical into the hole but it will get the earth/soil under the slab a better efficient treatment than just pouring into a hole using a funnel how is pouring it into a hole going to spread or soak under the slab?? Even a back back spray with the chemical is not enough pressure/ psi to soak the dirt under the slab just saying
i had a termite inspection done on my house and i have termites real bad. they're all inside my house. i cant afford the treatment plan so i have to DIY. Will treating the outside around the house like in your video kill all the termites inside my house? Do I need to dig trenches under the house around the foundation walls the same way as in your video be necessary? My attic is floored so i dont know if there are termites in it, so what do I do to treat it? Do they treat the inside of the house too? How do you treat it? Also I have cats and I want to know if its a safe treatment. I'm disabled and cannot afford their treatment plan and just need to know how to kill them. thank you
+kathy walker I am very sorry to hear about your troubles, Kathy. I would recommend calling the guys at domyownpestcontrol.com to ask their advice. You could also called a local pest control company to give an estimate and ask them what treatments they recommend.
+TightWadRepairs I would highly recommend using neoprene gloves when mixing since the fipronil has a dermal toxicity the same as ingestion, which means if you get it on your hand it is the same as putting it on your tongue there also is NO Antidote for poisoning with Termidor. Thus the reason the label says to be used by an authorized trained technician and to answer the question about the crawl, trenching around each of your piers would be in compliance with the perimeter plus treatment label, not requiring the inside wall to be treated, just the perimeter plus the piers plus full treatment including drilling 2 feet on each side of activity; Hope that helps. Also on pump sprayer, make sure your PSI is no greater than 25 PSI because if it is, then the active ingredient will turn into a gas at the tip and drift off in the air and you will be putting down just dirty water. When verticle drilling into attached slabs, the rate of application is still 4 gallongs per 10 linear feet, so you would put 2/5ths of a gallon per hole, not one gallon as stated in video. normally the verticle drill holes require to be injected with some amount of pressure to get enough product in that area, gravity and a funnel won't allow you to get that much chemical in the area. It's cheaper to treat it than let them eat it. No sense risking it on a DIY. keep calling and you will find a reasonable priced company. a good price would be $2.50 per linear foot to have it done right and come with a guarantee.... just my opinion, it is biased due to being in the termite business for 24 years.
+Troy Blair I'm going thru the phone book and getting estimates. So far I have found that they both have payment plans and after reading your comment about toxicity and no antidote it scared me enough to keep setting up estimates lol Thank you so very much for your reply. I'm definitely going to use a pro. plus they give you a warranty too. God bless you
How's your house doing? I found myself with a swarm inside my room in the middle of the night (every night, like clock work), just watched a couple videos about doing my own treatment, seems easy enough, but then was lucky enough to read the thread here. Yeah, I'm sticking with a pro.
The formula works out to a mere four gallons per ten feet and yet all the termite wonks insist you need to trench. The opposing termite wonks say the backfill is not treated, and is therefore a bridge over your treated area. I suggest a different solution. I am not a pro that has to treat and move on, saving money by moving fast. I do not intend to move fast, I mix my 0.8 mixture and pour the solution over the foundation at the rate that it will absorb it where it is poured. That might take you a bit longer but, hey, it is going to soak down through the soil and it beats the hell out of trenching. Example: Average internet guru says trench the 80 feet along the back of your house and apply four gallons every ten feet. Ok, great. What if I instead mix eight four gallon batches and spread the fluid across the 80 feet eight times, letting it soak in? I GET THE SAME COVERAGE, AND AVOID ALL THAT DIGGING BECAUSE i AM PATIENT. Go ahead haters, if I pour it at a rate the soil can take it, tell me how I didn't get it right. Bottom line: If it is added to the soil at a rate the soil can absorb, you needn't trench, but if it bunches up and runs off, it won't penetrate as deeply. PS: Some soils have hard clays and the liquid could move laterally below the soil. Just hit it every four inches with a digging bar and go at it, it's not rocket sceince.

ya you saved $1000, but you didn't do 1/4 of the physical labor the termite company was going to do for $1200.....what if you cant pour the termiticide down your drill holes? would you like info on how to "treat properly"?
+dblhlr I did every bit of the physical labor they would have done and more. I have peace of mind knowing it was done properly and no corners were cut because I did the work myself.
Firstly, you yourself will have to make the repairs(major) when this doesn't work. Did you down drill and treat all the slab cracks and expansion joints? did you drill and treat behind every brick in the siding? what about the plumbing penetrations? surely you treated those too? And you corrected all leaks!! because it will NOT work if there are leaks.....It would be impossible to horizontally drill the brick with those bushes....that's where the real labor is.....u a plumber too....I need a root canal
dblhlr Those additional steps are well beyond the scope of work in a $1200 treatment and you are fishing for scare tactics. Obviously anyone who chooses to complete their own treatment realizes the burden of repair is on their own dime.
Tite wad, My point is that you will prolly realize that burden. does your brick veneer go down into the soil......if so, you did nothing to stop your termites and should not brag about saving money on an ineffective treatment. .Outside vertical application, masonry void application, and inside vertical. My guys can do a "wrap" treatment like that in less than a hour...and use $80 worth of Termidor...but then Ill have to repair the house.....some things do REQUIRE an expert.....False security here. Get a Sentricon system.....and be done with them!
It don't matter matter what the web site recommends termidors a restricted product regulated by federal and state law and your wasting pesticides also a violation of the law
Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!
so, u did a partial treatment.......because your bushes are planted too close to the foundation to do a real curative drill and treat? If you knew how many termite companies get sued for doing what you recommend????
dblhlr I'm not sure where you heard I didn't treat due to bushes being too close to the house. I treated behind all bushes. I did not drill and treat in the video but I did explain that it needs to be done and even explained how. I drilled and treated but did not video the process. I don't believe I will be suing myself so I think I am good!
I had an estimate done yesterday, and the process he described is exactly what is shown in this video, with the addition of bait stations every few feet. He also said that the slab drilling method is obsolete.

james m. Curley You keep rambling on with poop grammar yet you call me a clown. You claim you need $5K on tools and 20+ years experience to do a preventative termite treatment. The makers of Termidor actually have a video tutorial demonstrating the proper way to do a perimeter treatment. That video shows exactly the process I show in my video. Yes, you need tools to properly treat beneath concrete but , as stated, that process was not part of this video. Stop being a troll and move on.
I'd like to know, other than a $100 hammer drill , and a funnel for the concrete, what is the other equipment "you're" going to need? If "you're" going to call someone incompetent, at least use the proper spelling.
A lot of the information in the video is against the LABEL thus making it against the law. The label is the law and doing EXACTLY what this video says to do will result in over treat, contaminating the soil around the home. That makes YOU liable for any damages to the environment. THIS is exactly why you should just let professionals do it. This isn't like changing your cars oil or changing a light bulb. Whats worse? Spending a couple hundred extra dollars or risk a couples THOUSAND in fines and possible jail time? I'll let you decide
Good luck!
The bait stations have about a 25% fail rate
It actually worked ?
Good idea to pour over the back fill instead of spraying it.
phatheaded1 It's made for termite but I haven't seen any ants since I did my treatment.
JG Snave you should not be applying termidor SC more than twice a year (or once every 6 months)
Nice idea to move the bushes back,I'm not done with the video yet,but I have that problem too in the front yard.
I'm a AC Tech by trade and this doesn't appear to be that difficult. Like you said a couple hours work. Its worth it vs the cost to pay someone. Thanks for the Video. I will be doing the exact same at my house.
Thanks! An added benefit I’ve noticed is we haven’t had any ants inside the house either. We used to get sugar ants invading sometimes.
That's a good tip
They took the stations back? Were you renting them??? I thought you paid $300 for them.
Jim Bo Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear you haven’t had good luck with termites.
That sounds like a lot of work!

I hope you can get it taken care of.
Already have the holes drilled in concrete from pest control need to run 18' masonry bit just to open the hole up to put in the chemical.
Yep
Ugh I have termites .where they want to treat I have a garden ...but then I have cement ....
$1092 to treat
I have the tunnels inside basement crawl space
One tunnel is the length of wall
Last night I moved alllll the junk my mother had saved ...off wood palates
and I saw live termites as the palate lost a part of itself ....
The pest control guy said he thinks they were feeding off wood palates
What do you do with tunnels ...scrape off wall and discard ?
Nightmare
I want to treat myself but ........
If I had active termites, I would let a professional treat it. I would get at least three estimates though.
I have wi ged termites inside my house. They are coming from behind my furnace where I can't reach. I have a slab house so no basement.
I am going to do this myself. I am hoping if I do the trench thing, they will eventually die off inside my house??
Why not just use your hedge trimmers and trim the shrubbery in the back to give you a 6 inch clearance which is good for the shrubbery anyway
Frpm what I have read, swarmers are not actively feeding so they may not come into contact with the perimeter treatment before moving on to another location.
where did you find the product and the container with sprayer? Thanks
EaglesFan4NRA The chemicals can be purchased from domyownpestcontrol.com and the sprayer is just a standard garden sprayer you can buy at a hardware store.
@TightWadRepairs Thanks. I have liked your vids and subscribed to your channel and will tell my friends!
I wanted to see you dig the trench to see how you managed the backfill and how you set it aside for easy put back.
I already have a termite colony I side my home so I am going to put it extra solution! Twice as much!
How long do you wait until you put the backfill back in?
Varying from the install instructions is illegal. Do not double the solution. It’s not necessary.
Comprehensive video; thanks for saving me money!

What if there is a garden with gravel adjoins the front of house. How will they do that? Do they have to dig up the garden gravel path area?
we called a company for treatment they charge 2,500 to treat and that's with a discount.
The cheapest we have found is 1,500 to treat. we haven't hired anyone.
How much does the treatment cost?
please send me the website to order the treatment
thank you for your video..
Seems to work great.
john coria That sounds like a solid technique. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Any advise? Thanks
shamus jubenal Sorry. I am not an expert on termites so I can't provide accurate advise outside of the preventative treatment.
Should you use a pump sprayer for under slabs and brick patio? If not what other tool does one use?
Nice video btw
You would drill holes in the concrete then ideally you would use a high pressure sprayer.
Thank you for this video!
My pleasure.
Thank you
Alexander Chuyko I am not an expert with all types of pest control. I only know about the products I’ve used and researched.
Will this kill existing termite fast ? What if I creat that barrier but the termite is outside the house permitted a gate 5 feet away for example ?
How many 20oz bottles did you use for your house
I have big patio and front house is with brick on floor ,the patio and front is maybe 4 layer of bricks with stairs ....how I can treat that area ???
Tony MTA You would need to drill through the brick into the soil and pour the chemical into the holes. Ideally you would use a pressurized injector.
Jose M Brito It’s likely illegal to use a stronger mixture so I wouldn’t recommend it. Yes, some companies inject it into the ground.
Anyone know if its possible to do this treatment on a pier and beam foundation home? If not, what other DIY do I have, only bait stations?
Will it kill termites that are already in the home?
If you already have termites I suggest calling a specialist.
Wondering the same thing. If I do the trench, will it eventually kill the ones inside the home?
Everything was accurate except for one thing. Spraying the backfill after you close the trench back up would be considered free spraying, which is against label
Thanks for letting me know.
Is it more effective if I don't put the backfill back in?
what if you have a swarm inside the house (coming from in the attic to the main floor). would using rolled up cardboard, dipped in the termador solution, dried and then letting it set out in the attic...do you think that would kill the termites by attractive them, they eat it, bring it back to the nest and kill the colony inside the home? does the termador have to be wet in order for it to work?
lava tube I can't recommend that method. If I had an active swarm in my home, I would call an expert to treat.
What about if you have a mobile home...would trenching perimeter be pointless since they are probably directly under the home or would it still be beneficial because they still would be going outside that radius?
I’m not really sure. I would consult a pro.
Alexander Chuyko I suggest you contact the company for the chemical you purchased.
Thanks for the video, how does this chemical last for so long up to 10 years? Won't weather such as rain affect the chemical?
You will have to direct that question to the manufacturer making the claims.
What is effectiveness of premise 30.5 % sc.

It won't affect plants
It would have been better to see the whole process

Ross Miller You are welcome!
Great video. Simple instructions and easy to follow. Couldn’t you also drill down into the dirt just like slab treatment? This would reduce the necessary labour of digging a trench.
I don’t think that would be as effective. I followed the instructions of the manufacturer and the pros.
Seems like one could almost dig a tunnel trench underneath, although that might take long.
flawlessvic I am not aware of any easy ways for doing that.
Is it advisable to treat the soil before house construction? If so, how DIY?
Carlo Veloso I don't think there is a way to treat effectively because so much dirt is moved around.

How can I do the concrete holes without a skid??

Thanks, Troy
+Troy Blair I'm going thru the phone book and getting estimates. So far I have found that they both have payment plans and after reading your comment about toxicity and no antidote it scared me enough to keep setting up estimates lol Thank you so very much for your reply. I'm definitely going to use a pro. plus they give you a warranty too. God bless you
How's your house doing? I found myself with a swarm inside my room in the middle of the night (every night, like clock work), just watched a couple videos about doing my own treatment, seems easy enough, but then was lucky enough to read the thread here. Yeah, I'm sticking with a pro.
how many bottles did you use to treat your home?
Turf Jitsu Three bottles for the trenching. I didn’t do the slabs.
Thanks. I will probably treat mine in the near future.
sheesh ounces and gallons ???
$82.00 , 20oz that is very expensive
Wickiller from Roblox I agree but it’s effective so it’s worth it.
The exterminator might charge $1000.
Not as expensive as repairing termite damage that was needed due to non-treatment.
Please come and do mine? LOL
Someone is suppose to be doing termite treatment for my home and he is using "Taurus SC" around the perimeter of my home, not drilling the garage. This is what is proposed and is this good enough for a 3300 sq ft home? "Termite Treatment - Exterior & Crawl spaceTermite Treatment using Taurus SC- Trench and Treatment interior and exterior of crawlspace- Garage, front porch, and the walkway along the back of the house will be waived- Retreat warranty for $150 per year for the next five years" The other termite service using Termidor HE will do this:"
Sorry I’m not an expert. Always get multiple quotes and compare.
Can't click videos...
YungStar Jc Thank you for the heads up. UA-cam made some changes and I have to go back and fix all of the videos. I must’ve missed that one.
THANKS.,,, ONELOVE.
nice

thumbs up
it's to late for me. damm
Titanickaram Sorry to hear that.
ya you saved $1000, but you didn't do 1/4 of the physical labor the termite company was going to do for $1200.....what if you cant pour the termiticide down your drill holes? would you like info on how to "treat properly"?
That’s too much stuff and steps to do👎🏾
You could alway pay someone over $1,000 to do it for you. 🤷🏻♂️
It don't matter matter what the web site recommends termidors a restricted product regulated by federal and state law and your wasting pesticides also a violation of the law
hmm preventing your BRICKS from being eatennn nice..
BlusuperSu Haha. I assume you’ve never seen a home being built? The brick is simply a veneer. The structure of the home is all wood.
Amen!!!!
Tight wads 🤣🤣
Heather’s Channel Meant as a term of endearment! 😂😂
so, u did a partial treatment.......because your bushes are planted too close to the foundation to do a real curative drill and treat? If you knew how many termite companies get sued for doing what you recommend????
dblhlr I'm not sure where you heard I didn't treat due to bushes being too close to the house. I treated behind all bushes. I did not drill and treat in the video but I did explain that it needs to be done and even explained how. I drilled and treated but did not video the process. I don't believe I will be suing myself so I think I am good!
I had an estimate done yesterday, and the process he described is exactly what is shown in this video, with the addition of bait stations every few feet. He also said that the slab drilling method is obsolete.
Critical no hear are the facts Im a Certified Termidor Professional Certified By the Developers of Termidor Avantis environmental Science the Developers of Termidor + im a retired structural pest specialist and your treatment is no good your missing $5,000.00 in tools you need to actually do that kind of a technical job. + 20 years of experience with the product. And any competent inspector can grab a soil sample and show you. How is your equity your not helping any one. all your doing is wasting Pesticides
Troll
