    Thanks for the video, I was wondering how you treat along the foundation when there is a permanent deck where you can’t trench along the foundation. Also when there is concrete poured right up to the edge of the house. Do you need special equipment to pump the chemical in holes drilled in the concrete. Thanks.

So im gonna buy this and drill holes to my outside wall and fill as much of this as i can plus dig the drench. Also home depot now sales a termite insecticide. I think the home depot solution would work for a good maintenance after the termite colony is killed.

    Great video! Do you have any videos on the proper way to do a preventative termite treatment near water lines coming into homes? (I.e. under sinks, around toilets) I’m assuming foam treatments would need to be done. If possible, I’d prefer to DIY it, but I want to make sure I’m taking the right approach. Thanks!

    • @barricklowseth2033
      @barricklowseth2033 7 місяців тому

      There's preventative pest control and active pest control. It's the difference between a spray around a house to keep cockroaches out and pointing at a mouse and saying "kill that". There's also 2 main types of termites, ones that live inside wood (drywood and dampwood) and ones that live in the ground and travel to eat wood (subterranean). For preventative for drywood termites, you have limited options. The only thing that comes to mind is treating wood with borax or pressure treating it (I've heard that keeps them out), but you'd have to treat all the wood in your entire house to be sure. To treat an active drywood infestation, you have to get a chemical like fipronil (termidor) or imidacloprid (premise) on some of the termites. That could be through drilling holes (or widening kick out holes) in the wood and injecting a foam or dust where you know the drywoods are. But that only kills the termites that you know are there. There can be several drywood colonies in your house that you don't even know about yet, as it takes up to 6 years before they swarm. The only answer to kill 100% of drywoods (and whatever other critters are around) in your house is to fumigate. To 100% prevent subterranean termites, you have to get a liquid barrier (normally fipronil) in the soil around the permiter of your home and stop any water leaks. If your home has a slab, that means you may have to drill some holes in your foundation to apply the chemical. To treat active subterraneans, you have to get the chemical on them through foam/dust injections and a perimiter treatment is recommended. If you don't have a known issue and you don't have the money for a professional preventative treatment (they'll have to retreat again and again, the chemical has a limited residual time), then my advice is to have regular termite inspections and only treat them when you find them. Applying chemical only around water pipes isn't an effective preventative as they could come from elsewhere. Termites really aren't something to DIY unless you opened up your wall and termites came pouring out and you want only those specific termites dead.

      assuming you meant tenting, you must have drywood termites. This is a treatment for subterranean termites. The treatment is a lot different because drywoods live inside the wood whereas subterranean termites live in the ground and travel to eat the wood.

    I have been watching your videos and recently trenched around my house using taurus sc liquid. I was wondering if homemade bait stations will work as a cheaper monitoring station. What do you think?

    • @barricklowseth2033
      @barricklowseth2033 7 місяців тому

      as long as you trench and treated properly, I don't think bait stations are necessary. It's normally one or the other. Also, the placement of bait stations is very very important. They don't have any sort of real attractant, so the termites can easily miss a station on the way into your house. I've seen companies put them 10 plus feet apart and in some really peculiar areas. The main perk of having a company put bait stations in is some sort of guarantee that they either work or if you find termites, they'll treat them for free.

    I NEED YOUR HELP!!! I can’t find the answer anywhere online. Ok…
    I was walking in my backyard and saw a spot where it looked like someone legit scattered chocolate sprinkles. It was a pretty big area, like a 10’x10’ area in the grass and the more bald spots it was really evident.
    I gathered some and smushed a few pieces and it’s just made of dirt. No insect body pieces or plant pieces, just very fine dirt in a small kinda pellet shape.
    It has rounded ends so it’s not like one end is round and the other kinda pinched off. They’re all the same size with slight color variation but not by much. It looks like the same color of our red clay soil.
    I thought first it was worm poop, then maybe beetle poop since we have a ton of June beetles in the yard and parasitic wasps that go after their larva (it’s really a sight in summer lol).
    It’s not bat poop (we have a bat nest on the corner of the house so I know what their shit looks like) and not bunny poop. I CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS!!!
    It’s just such a large quantity I can’t imagine what insect or critter would poop that much?!?! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

    but I'm confused on which chemical to buy there is two different spray
    BASF : 59021468
    Termidor SC Insecticide $150.00(home symbol with text inside) VS BASF : 59021351
    Termidor SC Insecticide $70 (home symbol and circle around it)
